|20.78km from city centerStayed here at the weekend with friends; lovely room, enjoyed the evening meal and a fab breakfast. Would recommend. The only downside was that there is a service charge payable on all drinks that you are not notified of. We queried our bar bill as it didn’t make sense and was told by a member of staff that on all purchases a 10% charge is payable. There is no signs up around the bar area notifying you of this. We were told that the staff are not allowed to tell you about this. To me that seems fraudulent. Surely you can’t be charged for something that you don’t know about every time you go up to the bar and purchase a drink? Not sure if the staff get this money or the company. If this is company policy are they breaking the law by not notifying you of this? Please be wary.

|0.82km from city centerThe travel lodge at Wooton was on the outskirts of the town near the m1 motorway
The decor is very run down a side door with broken glass and a ****y path greets you on your approach from the car park.
The room was comfortable the bed very comfortable. Shower was fine coffee tea avaliable in room.
We arrived at 2.00am but not a problem as a lovely girl called Monique I believe sorted us out on arrival letting us use her mobile phone as we had a problem to sort out. Her warm welcome was very much appreciated
I asked for an ironing board and iron in the morning again no problem from another female member of staff.
Stayed two nights and again was helped by the male receptionist to order a taxi which to Luton Airport had to be booked over the phone this gentleman made the call through his phone.
The Toby restaurant annexed to the hotel was also in need of decor refresh bathrooms particularly bad smell.
Only instant coffee available with water from an old boiler type of thing really out dated. Should be made clearer that you have to order from the bar section and pay in advance before going to get your breakfast.!!!
Overall OK for the money staff excellent let down by the decor and in need of a cleaning modern upgrade. Location would require a car as about 5 miles from northampton Town centre

|0.39km from city centerhe issue that I have experienced was: When I first arrived at the hotel I requested an iron and and ironing board. The member of staff gave me an iron but stated that I could not have an ironing board because it must be in a room. I asked if I could get it later as I need to iron my shirt for work and was informed that it would be sent to my room. This happened at around 3 in the afternoon, it is now 10.15 at night and they have not produced it. Next I ordered a meal in my room, I waited 1 hour before going to reception and finding out they forgot to send my meal to my room. I was informed that the meal was ready now if I wanted it I could take it, which I was happy to do, only to find out that they had tried to give me my meal that was stone cold. Not good for chicken and chips. I then ordered a smaller snack because of the time and waited 45 minutes telephoned reception and was told by the supervisor that they had just come on shift and knew nothing about my issues. She apologised and assured me that she would personally bring my sandwich to me in 15 minutes, 30 minutes later I go to reception as I had still not got my sandwich and it was too late to eat at 9.30 at night. I asked to speak to the supervisor outside as the members of staff who gave me this poor service were by reception and I wanted to speak privately, outside I did not get an apology for the poor customer service of her staff and she did not apologies for incorrectly telling how long I would have to wait the second time, after I had told her about my poor experience. She then said ”you don't want the food raw, do you” after me complaining about her keeping waiting the second time. I teach customer service and this has been the worst service I have ever received in a hotel ever, and I will using this experience with Ibis in my classes on a perfect example of how not to treat a customer for a long time. This is my first experience of Ibis hotels and I am shocked that this is how you treat your guests. It occurred on: 01/09/2022 This meant that I am in my hotel room furious and disappointed and have not eaten. It feel ironic that tomorrow I will be teaching customer service and I am unable to sleep because of how much this has affected me. I am not satisfied with the service I have received and I feel frustrated that it is too late to book into another hotel. Train your staff to a much better standard and made aware that this is not good enough. Send me a full apology and the cost of my evening meal that I did receive should be charged. I don't expect any of the things I have shared with you to make any difference to the staff and if I was ever foolish enough to stay at this hotel again I am sure I would get the same poor customer service. I just hope that this is a poor hotel and it does not reflect other hotels in your chain.

|16.58km from city centerOn arrival the friendly receptionist not only helped us she was absolutely fantastic and so kind understanding and generous giving my daughter some sweets to entertain her and really talked with us. Advised us on locations and talked of different subjects. The stay was brilliant the night reception was lovely and kind on speaking with my husband. The stay was lovely clean spacious quiet despite location it was very quiet, the cleaning staff was understanding on my daughters mini accident and we tried to leave the room tidy for them also. On leaving the friendly reception was lovely also and very kind :) I totally recommend this as your stay for whatever your needs. Please note upon the telephone line it’s card only but other than that it’s a wonderful place to stay whether it be for work to catch some of them special Zs or a quick stay for friends family etc. very accommodating with our baby and myself being pregnant also, Great place and cannot recommend enough and I cannot sing their praises enough honestly best we have ever been to

|0.74km from city centerHad arrived from the Hilton in Harrogate which was brilliant. Had high hopes for the brand when I arrived at this hotel. Walked in to reception and all I can say is appearances can be deceiving. Once you look past the chandeliers and flowers it’s evident this isn’t up to the usual Hilton standard. The first receptionist I spoke to was either shy or new. Very basic service, more time spent looking at the screen. Had to ask the usual questions, breakfast times/location:car parking payment etc.. Got told it was on my key card. That’s great but I’m asking you in person and having stayed at many hotels this is usually standard. The rooms are very basic and the hotel does need modernising. The receptionist kindly moved me (thank you Eva) as I could hear everything in the original room I was allocated, and the adjoining door between my room and the one next door didn’t seem to secure.. I found the family room I was given slightly more modern but the beds creaked awfully. Luckily I always take ear plugs. Bathrooms had those horrible shower heads that emit shed loads of spray, not ideal if you are trying not to get your hair wet and just have a wash. They do provide shower caps though. There is also a reminder to be vigilant with the shower curtain as the spray shower heads soak everything! Food in the restaurant was mediocre but prompt. Hilton prices without quality. Had the risotto which was essentially pea and cream, no taste of mint. It was a huge portion though and served quickly. Girls on service were very friendly but had to be reminded as to service. I was also given pudding without a spoon, had to go exploring as there were no staff to help find one. Pudding was bizarre, a lemon sponge thing on a bed of granola. Tasted like a dandelion. Had intended to use the gym, but to be honest I didn’t want to stay here longer than I needed to. In sum, not awful but not great. Standard no higher than a Holiday Inn, albeit they are more modern and don’t charge their guests for parking.

|0.81km from city centerLiked · We stayed at this hotel last year and in our review we said that it was tired and needed to be updated. Well this has happened and the difference was very noticeable, the exterior was looking more cheery. The interior had been given a complete makeover from reception, bar/restaurant to the bedrooms. A fresh cooked breakfast to your liking is provided every morning and there is an option to have an evening meal, the menu is not extensive, however, what is available is of a very good standard and reasonably priced. All of the staff from check-in/out and during our stay were extremely pleasant and helpful. 15 minute walk into the city centre. Disliked · Perhaps upgrade of the double glazing.

|6.13km from city centerI stayed here for one night while attending a birthday party. It’s very convenient for the M1 and a quick getaway. I found the check in very simple and was asked to register my car which was done via screen. I was originally allocated a ground floor room which is my least favourite when travelling alone but this was swiftly changed to one on the first floor. My room was clean and fresh looking with tea and coffee facilities and a rail to hang my clothes and replete with removable/rehangable hangers. The TV worked, the towels were fluffy and white and the bathroom very clean and a good size. I had a very comfortable bed and a good nights sleep. I didn’t hear any noise/other guests. I can’t find any fault with my stay.I didn’t use any of the cafe/bar facilities. Note that there’s very little in the way of alternative restaurants etc in the immediate area.

|11.07km from city centerWe stayed Friday for one night as we were visiting friends in nearby ****on Bec. We were warmly greeted by Julian and check-in was easy. Our accommodation is just across the car park and was more than adequate for our needs. We decided to have a drink before going out and there is a good selection of beers and wines, all reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting to Julian and learning about his sister's plans for The Narrow Boat. Obviously in January the weather isn't appropriate for sitting out in the garden overlooking the canal, but there is also another indoor restaurant that overlooks the terrace. We were more than happy sitting in the smaller restaurant/bar area particularly with the log-burning stove beside us! We had a look at the food menu which looked very nice and reasonably priced. Our breakfast on Saturday morning was delicious. My husband opted for the ”full works” which had a supplement, whilst I went for the standard one. Very nicely presented and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. As other people have said, The Narrow Boat is on the A5 so you will experience some noise from the road but you get used to it. We look forward to coming back to stay again the next time we're in the area. Thanks to Julian and the chef for making us so welcome.

|21.51km from city centerJust disappointed. We booked a two night stay as we were visiting Coventry radio one big weekend and was cheaper than staying in Coventry. The worst experience as a group of people that had been a the festival got back and we’re being so loud and noisy. Banging on doors from 12am till 7.30 am the next morning. At one point my partner actually got up and told them to shut up. Was quiet for all of 5 mins. As a result of this discretion we got no sleep. Completly unacceptable and I felt more should have been done to kick these people out/call the police as it was not fair on other guests staying at the hotel. Another lady also complained the same time as we did at reception. The man on reception did all he could, offered us breakfast and a free drink but to be honest I felt it was worth a refund due to the constant distribution. The second night it was a lot better, but it tainted our stay. Personally, it’s one of the most depressing hotels I’ve visited. It’s on an industrial estate, decor is dated, breakfast wasn’t great and they’d ran out of basically most evening food apart from meat pizzas. Not one to visit unless it’s a necessity. Service was okay though.

|8.14km from city centerWe stayed here for the night, had dinner as well as breakfast. The rooms are clean and well kept however the staff are indifferent and unwelcoming (aside from the cleaning staff). The owners son checked us in and wasn’t particularly welcoming. Neither of us can recall if he actually said hello. Either way, a cold reception. The bar staff are cold. Breakfast was a shambles. The young girl serving was really trying her best but is clearly being let down by management. No greeting on arrival. No clean glasses. A sorry looking cereal bar and we weren’t sure if the coffee cups were clean or not. For a B&B, you only have two things to get right but the breakfast experience is not being thought through. Upon check out, no one was around aside from what I assume was a female duty manager, who clearly doesn’t want to be there as there was zero engagement. Not the worst place I’ve stayed but doubt we’ll be back as you’re made to feel as if the customer is getting in the way. All in all a real shame because what you saw on TV is a million miles away from reality, especially when the owners son checks you in as cold as he does.

|0.85km from city centerBooked two nights at the Premier Inn in Northampton in November. I booked two rooms, one for myself and one for my daughter, Premier Plus so paid extra. On arrival my room was absolutely boiling so I tried to turn the air con on but it didn’t seem to work. I ended up swapping rooms with my daughter but found that the air con in her room was also broken. On our way out for an evening meal I thought I’d mention this to reception but there was no one there. On our return the reception was empty again so we had no option but to try and sleep through the heat. It was awful and the next morning we both felt a bit ill as the room was so stuffy. We left early the next morning and mentioned to the receptionist that the air con wasn’t working in both our rooms, she then told us that they were waiting for an engineer to come out the following week to repair it and she could either offer me two electric fans or we could move rooms for our last night. We opted for the fans and they did the job but I was annoyed that we hadn’t been told there was a problem when we booked in and we weren’t offered any refund for the inconvenience. Having stayed in another Premier Inn recently, I can say that the rooms were also a bit on the tatty side compared to one we stayed in previously in Truro.

|2.89km from city centerBooked for two nights and left after one. On arrival the room had a random dirty fridge inside, no kettle, no mugs, no ironing board. In the morning I established that the shower had no head and the hotel was unable to provide an alternative. They also weren't able to provide the ironing board so I had to leave without a shower and with a creased shirt! Each time I was at reception others were complaining (hole in roof, soaking wet carpet, wrong rooms). When I checked out a day early the manager didn't seem overly bothered.
