When we looked for a hotel Siena, we had only one real requirement, ie it had to be very close to the centre because we only had 1 night. This hotel was perfect for us. It is only a couple of min walk away from the main square, Piazza del Campo and less than 10 min walk to the Duomo. I was so pleased with the location - we couldn't have had a better located hotel for a short stay. ROOMS - The rooms are quite plain and simple but the price is very reasonable (esp for its location) and I think the décor and size of the rooms is appropriate for the price. SERVICE - We were warmly welcomed on arrival and they gave us a couple of great recommendations for restaurants, all within walking distance (we had a lovely meal at Taverna di Cecco). The next morning, they helped us out by holding our bag after check-out while we went off sight-seeing. GETTING THERE: The hotel is in the heart of the historic area, which is a ZTL zone and cars are restricted inside this area. This can be tricky if you have a car and come unprepared. We parked our car outside the city walls and walked in to the hotel. This is by far the easiest way to do it. A friend had suggested that we leave our big suitcases in the boot of our car and just take in a small overnight bag. This was a great tip and made life a lot simpler and easier - no struggling with heavy cases over cobblestones. We parked underground in the Santa Caterina public carpark so we felt that our luggage was pretty secure.

I arrived and went to check in to find no one at the desk. There was a message left on the desk saying to ring a number or go to this other hotel next door. I did that and was instructed that my room was opposite the hotel. The door seemed difficult to open but the lady showed me how to do it. She told me where my room was and I went up the stairs. The check-in seemed very rushed. I opened the door and found the bed unmade and the room slightly messy. I started to unpack and the cleaner came in. Neither of us spoke each other’s languages but she understood that I had just arrived. She rang someone who told me I had to leave the room so they could clean it. This meant I had to go out in the rain when I wanted to relax a bit in my room. The photos I have uploaded are from the time I checked into the hotel which was quite a bit of time after I was told I could check in at. Other than this, the location of the hotel is in the centre. On my second night, I found it difficult to sleep because there were people outside the hotel talking loudly and loud music playing like a party. Other than this, the room could have been warmer but extra blankets are provided and maybe a kettle could be provided as there is no heater. Bed was comfortable and toilet was clean.

We were blown away by this perfect little apartment. Even though we looked over the back of the El Campo we loved watching the happenings in the street. Right in the thick of the action, easy to find and convenient to just everything in Siena. The apartment had everything you needed, super comfortable bed, and so much space. It can be regarded as the best hotel in Siena, the location is opposite the old Siena Bank, the town is not big, this is also a relatively central area, it is very convenient to go anywhere. The hotel itself is also a 17th-century building with a retro style. Breakfast is not bad, children can use the existing bed free of charge, everyone pays attention to the age of children, the breakfast for children to pay 26 euros a day, this price can only be said to look at the environment and service, do not consider the word cost Haha. Excellent hygiene and a safe stay. From the Siena train station, don't go around the road, go through the shopping mall facing the train station, go upstairs, there will be an extra long escalator to help us climb the hillside, then take a short walk to see Siena The old town gate, you can reach the hotel all the way. Nice stay experience!

Went in late November and the hotel was quite, with probably more staff than guests. The young team that were there though were wonderful, helpful and always available and ultra polite. You guys are a credit to the hotel. Now to the hotel, whilst its a beautiful building, i just dont get in such a wonderfully historic building the use of ultra modern minimalist furniture. The lack of 'soft' furnishings made for a cavernous restaurant and reception, that you felt you had to whisper all the time. (not my taste). The room followed down the same road, whilst beautiful with wonderful views (top floor), it just felt without soul. No shower as well! Only a bath that in this day and age is a no no. I struggled getting in and out and im no Grandad. Er no coffee machine....at all only a kettle with tea. All in all we loved the location and staff but felt the inside was style over substance, which is a crying shame. The whole place is crying out for more classical furnishings to round those sharp edges.

There is nothing to say about the location, just beside the Field Square. The boss is very enthusiastic. Old-fashioned house with average facilities. But the boss showed me a set that is being renovated in the same building. very nice. Friends who went back remember to renovate upstairs, the facilities are much better than downstairs.

We loved this quaint and clean bed and breakfast! The family who runs it is very accommodating and the service was excellent. We had a key to access the building and our room so after hours we could come back and forth with no problem. We were able to leave our luggage in the front before and after check out to continue to explore the city. The room was large, clean, and had all we needed. Breakfast was brought to us and there was a good choice of unlimited coffee and pastry. The bathroom was very clean and updated and we lucked out and got a view of the piazza. Centrally located, steps to the main square. Perfect location and close to a taxi stop for transport back to the train station. I would stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

This is a great place to stay. Much better than a large impersonal hotel as Il Battistero is full of character & history. The hotel is located at the back of the Bapistery and about 3 minutes walk from the Piazza del Campo. It is a very old building entered either through the wine shop or a large wooden door off the square. We stayed in a suite of 2 bedrooms & a bathroom on the first floor overlooking the Piazza San Giovanni. The rooms were large, clean & comfortable. There was very little noise from the square even on weekend evenings. Although part of a palace the finish is more shabby chic than antique. The inclusion of a comfortable arm chair in one or both rooms would have been good. All the staff at the hotel & bistro were marvellous. Rita, the hotel manager was very efficient, speaks many languages & will organise trips for you if you wish. She also showed us the underground tunnel used for wine tasting which was fascinating . The bistro staff were friendly and very hard working. During our 5 day stay, we enjoyed breakfasts In the square and many delicious lunch platters. We enjoyed our stay in Siena, even with the high temperatures of 35 degrees and the corona virus regulations but it was made extra special by the hotel & the bistro.

Service doesn’t come better and our whole family said the same making this a wonderful place to stay in Tuscany. Incredible recommendations for winery lunches and visits and dinners and even at breakfast- one more cappuccino or coffee with a spoonful of hot chocolate was always greeted with a warm smile and the buffet was excellent. Even with all the new covid rules it felt the most welcoming place. The lunches were brilliant and our two deluxe rooms perfect. Recommend hiring the electric bikes which are great models. We drove into sienna most nights ( a few minutes away) and came back for drinks under the magically lit trees to listen to music. We loved our stay here and thank you Michelle for your tireless energy it is fantastic to have such a team looking after you.

The hotel is warm and has a rich breakfast. It is suitable for self-driving outside the ancient city and has a parking lot. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the ancient city attractions. The room can see the Siena Stadium, but there is no competition, the stadium is under maintenance and the stadium is small.

We were traveling by car around Toscana and Villa Sant’Andrea was a very pleasant experience. Even we arrived late, they provided us with all information to get in and cared about little details. The bedroom is very clean, cozy and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast was a great surprise! It is fantastic within lot of options and a stunning cappuccino. It’s better than hotel, they make you feel like home. It’s a perfect accommodation for whom is traveling by car (it’s about 10 minutes from Siena). For who is not, they provide you taxi and bus information.

A beautiful hotel with brilliant views of the tuscany region. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, particularly Lucho. The breakfast was excellent and all you can eat. Parking is convenient and very safe which was ideal for us. The hotel is situated just outside the old town, a lovely walk in. The only potential issue was the air conditioning which could have gone lower. Will absolutely recommend to everybody else. My favourite hotel during my trip to Italy.

The breakfast is very good, one room per table, the hotel location is best to arrive during the day, there is free parking place, it is worth staying for a day to stroll around and relax. When I went there, the hostess of the castle happened to be there. She was very cute and enthusiastic. She also bought the exclusive wine of the castle for the hostess to sign and take home.

Having travelled over 100km on my bike. Part of a cycle tour of tuscany. This hotel did not look enticing. But thanks to the incredibly friendly staff, Silvia in particular. I really enjoyed my 2 night stay. Aircon room a real bonus after 35+degrees all day on the road. The hotel dont cater for evening meals...but Silvia ordered me a meal from a local restaurant to enjoy on the veranda. The hotel is clean and although situated out of Siena on a very busy road junction. Noise from traffic was minimal. Direct bus route outside the hotel into Siena. Really enjoy stay. Big thanks to Silvia and the other staff.

Residence Le Meridiane is a conglomeration of beautiful buildings with separate rooms. The rooms are clean, clean clean! There's ping pong, a giant chess set, I think there's a pool too - the grounds are gorgeous. Here's the downside (to me it's the upside!) if you want to go to the old town Siena area you have two choices: 1. Get in your car and ride over there, find parking in the mish-mash of humanity. White line spots are OK. 2. walk over. Our family did both. I enjoyed walking much more than driving. I'll post a map to show the beautiful path to walk to town, it only takes 25 minutes to walk from Residence Le Meridiane to the Siena Duomo. Don't take Google map walking way, use my map, it's half the time. There's a really fun park with a zip line along the way too. I had an 11 year girl, up to 51 year old me, walk this with ease. We paid 180 euro for three rooms, one night. Deal of the century!! Parking onsite is either outside or in a garage.

Where do I start. This is simply an excellent place to stay, it has the most amazing outlook, we opened the shutters in our room and looked out the the Duomo. The Host Filippo, could not have done more to make our visit to Siena more enjoyable, telling us the good places to visit, the best Gelateria, and just making us welcome. The room was large, comfortable and airy, just perfect. It is located in the old town, so don't take a car, we used the train, and it was a simple 20 minute walk. It was just minutes to the Duomo and the Tower in the main plaza of the town. Plenty of places to eat, and you can also walk the streets before and after the crowds have gone. If I was coming back to Tuscany I would definitely stay again.

We went to Siena for a few days city tour without the children and found it to be one of the nicest places we had ever been to. The hotel was exceptional and great value for a 3 star. The room had the most amazing terrace which had fabulous views of the city and was only a 10min walk to the Palio centre which was stunning. Free parking, plenty of parking spaces ... a little distance from the old town. The front desk operation was unskilled. It took 20 minutes to check in. It looked embarrassing to see that the service staff was busy before and after busy. He was embarrassed to say that he did n’t know whether it was intentional or not. The door was loud because breakfast started at half past six. Of course ... it also contradicts the sound insulation.

This was a great deal, probably because my wife and I went in late Oct, early November. We arrived only to learn that we had been evacuated from our home in California because of wildland fires. We were fine. This is an older hotel, but we had a great view looking north into the countryside. The accommodations were excellent, and with breakfast. Plus we were able to park in the hotel's parking lot inside the walls of the city. We were within walking distance of everything. The staff was very pleasant and professional. What a wonderful hotel! Wow!!! We really, really enjoyed our three night stay with Camp Region Relais. Due to it being off season, we were the only guests at the hotel, and the two front desk gals (Maria Luisa and Anna) were so wonderful! I had several questions before our stay and they were very helpful answering them and also making restaurant reservations. During our stay, both helped us with all questions and were really friendly and polite! Our room was #5, was large, had a balcony and the most gorgeous view of Siena! So beautiful! They also were very kind to accommodate me by using unscented soap for the linens and towels since I am allergic to several scented things. We also used their laundry service which was great. The breakfast was great and they had a big assortment of foods, even though it was just the two of us during the stay. We loved Campo Region Relais and want to thank Maria Luisa and Anna for the hospitality!

This B&B establishment surely has one of the finest views of Siena as it overlooks the city from atop a hill with spectacular sights made even better by our room also facing out overlooking the city. The room itself was very comfortable and quiet at night. The property’s gardens and grounds were beautiful and the outdoor swimming pool was superb, clean and inviting. However, on the Friday we stayed by the pool, and on the Monday morning we checked out, the peace and quiet was shattered by loud and horrendous drilling and banging sounds coming from a property next door that was undergoing renovation. The owner made no apology for the noise nor did they make any effort to stop it. On the Saturday, another day we decided to stay by the pool to relax and enjoy the fine weather, the owner hosted a private party for her friends at the property. For three hours over lunchtime, she and her party made noise and occupied areas of the property we thought were reserved for us as paying guests. We felt we were not welcome that day. It was also noticeable that the selection of breakfast foods available on the Sunday morning was greatly enhanced because owner’s guests from her party of the previous day joined us paying guests at breakfast that morning. On the other mornings we dined the breakfast selection was a bit limited and we were only permitted one cup of coffee each. This review was not so easy to write because the property is absolutely stunning, it is very traditionally Tuscan and is in the perfect location for Siena. But we felt that the owner/s unfairly play on these advantages and are too complacent in knowing their stunning B&B establishment outweighs the need for any strong customer service ethos. Had they had the courtesy to email me beforehand to warn of the building noise next door and of the noisy party, I would have had second thoughts about staying. Their attitude was they were doing us a favour by letting us pay to stay there. At nearly £520 for four nights, it was over-priced for the experience.

If I can give a suggestion to the owners, it would have been great to have also a fridge and a kettle or an electric moka in the room, just for those moments when you are too lazy to walk around for a bar...

A truly great place to stay in the heart of a beautiful medieval city. I was well cared for by the wonderful and professional hosts, Hamza especially was attentive and thoughtful. I travelled to Siena for the August Palio di Siena and wanted accommodation as close as possible to the Piazza del Campo to see as much of the pageantry and race as I could – I was not disappointed! Hamza made sure I had a room with a direct view of the Piazza, and with the front door of the property located on the street where the pageant, horses and racers walk down to access the Piazza I was truly in the middle of this wonderful and historic event - perfect! I could not have asked for a better way to experience the electric atmosphere up close. If you are travelling for the Palio I strongly recommend staying here to experience (whilst enjoying beautiful Tuscan wine) this event without being packed in confined areas with tens of thousands of spectators! Hamza made this once in a lifetime experience an amazing one! A few Palio tips…. (1) on the day of the race cars are prohibited from entering the city so you will need to walk from the city gates – travel light as the walk will take you a good 30 mins in +30 degree heat. (2) definitely communicate with Hamza or Edmundo ahead of your arrival to book a table for dinner (post-race) - all of the good restaurants get booked up early and very quickly! The rooms are exceptionally clean with great comfy beds and private bathrooms. 24hr access to tea and coffee alongside an honesty bar with a great selection of Italian wines– the space has been well designed and thought out. Located in a beautiful building, access is up 2 flights of stairs (as is normal for these types of buildings) so travel light. Breakfast is taken in a lovely café based in Piazza del Campo which is delightful and so much better than having a breakfast in your room. Overall highly recommend. Siena is a wonderful city with great buildings, history, restaurants and shopping – easily could fill a day or two definitely worth putting this city on your Tuscan itinerary. Very easy to get to by train if you are staying in Florence.
