Property is located at south end of White Sand Beach area, a bit far from sandy beach (aprox 15-20min walk) They've got few simply good size bungalows equpied with a fridge and tv, some of those have also ac. Unfortunately is a bit difficulty to deal with the staff, I made reservation by Agoda for room with ac for 400B per night, and had pay that by card. When I decided to stay few days longer and pay this time directly by cash, lady at the reception desk told me that price now is 500B. After short negotiations she agread for same price, it means for 400B, however when next morning I came to pay the bill she said she changed her mind and price again went up for 500B! After all I decided to move to Koh Chang Hut Hotel which gave me price 400B without any negotiations and offered much higher standard.

We enjoyed our stay here at the Chang Cliff. On arrival we were greeted at reception and told we had been upgraded to a seaview room! Amazing start. Our bags were then taken up to the room for us. The room itself was quite small but more than sufficient for our needs. The front is all glass which gives for the amazing seaview and it is amazing! This does however create a problem with privacy. Our room was one in a group of 3 rooms in one building and with a balcony/seating area come walkway right outside it was a bit cosy. Obviously there are curtains but if you have them open then the occupants of the other rooms can see in when they walk passed. I must stress that there are other rooms with private balconies and this was just our experience. It did not dampen our enjoyment. We did also have a slight issue with ants in the room. We bought some spray from 7-11 for 69 baht, worked a treat. The bathroom was a decent size and although the shower was quite powerful it wasn't very hot. The nearest beach is a 15 minute walk but the hotel put on shuttle bus and there are tuk tuk type bikes etc to ferry you about. There is a quieter beach in the opposite direction and we jumped in a local bus/taxi car that runs up and down the main street that cost 50 baht each. The breakfast was very good, lots of options to choose from and good value. We stopped at the hotel over New Year and they threw a party for all the guests with free food and drink (I think the price was included in the booking fee for the hotel so not technically free but we ate and drank more than our fair share so worked out well!) All the staff were friendly and polite and were very accommodating, especially with the NYE party. There's also plenty of restaurants in close proximity and plenty of bars and food within a 10 minute walk. All in all a really nice hotel in a decent location with great views and service. A few little things to improve on but I would recommend staying here.

The hotel is on the main road, not far from the white sand beach, walk 15 minutes, ride a motorcycle for a few minutes, the taxi Taix along the street starts with 50 plants for one person to 50 plants for 3 people (you must bargain, if you don’t have a bargain, it’s 100 plants) One person) The hotel is a garden landscape style, a single cabin is quiet and comfortable, children with 500 extra beds a night are laid on the floor to sleep, very clean, breakfast is rich and nutritious and delicious, it is recommended, rent a motorcycle every day to shuttle around the island It’s good if you don’t live by the beach. In addition, I recommend the hotel to go out and turn right. A cooking shop run by sisters who walks up the stairs tastes good and affordable. It’s good except for not opening the door to see the sea. I especially recommend the main road near White Beach after 5pm The delicious food stalls, all kinds of delicious grounding gas, box lunch and cooking should be the Chinese love! Note that this house does not have a swimming pool, but not too far from the beach

Just spent 5 nights here, the accomodation is lovely although bathrooms could do with a refurb, beds comfy, bungalows and gardens beautiful but... the pool area is is in need of serious tidying up, for starters there are more broken loungers than useable, pool table not fit for purpose, no umbrellas as shown on all booking sites, it could be so much better given the bungalows are good. Speaking to a couple who were there last year and they said they could not believe the difference as how bad it is this year. Such a shame as it's in an ideal spot, a few bars close by and beach just a 15 minute stroll, after 5 days we had to move for last 2 nights next door at Paddys Palm (see other review) as they were booked. Staff are lovely but do not seem to realise the importance of the outside space.

Guys, when you are dreaming for a perfect vacation but not pricey, this resort is for you. This is a very nice resort from the staff, to lovely rooms with nice cliff views and sunset in the afternoon, the food is mouth-wateringly delicious. Also close to the shops and walking distance to 7/11, and the vast White sand beach on the island. The most special here is that the owner himself will take care of you, very helpful and welcoming man. Thank you.

I booked a sea view air-conditioned bungalow and was really impressed. For the price around 500 baht a night because it's just still low season maybe? The view of ocean and sunsets for 4 nights were amazing. Location is pretty good but 15 minute walk to the beach. Plenty of nice cheap restaurants to the right when you walk out. It's abit old and were afew ants in room every night but no problem. Room cleaner daily with 2 bottles of water and amenities. Tour lady at front gives cheap price for any activity you may want to do. When back I'll probebly stay again for the view at a great price.

In looking for hotels people trade off different aspects that are important to them: cost, location, proximity to other businesses and services, hotel services, facilities, etc. This hotel worked well for us as a value option, as a low-cost alternative in a less than ideal location, a good distance from the beach off to the side of one end of the White Sands area. It was about a 10 minute walk to that beach; not really close at all. The staff were really nice and friendly, but service level was typical for a 3 star hotel, on the limited side. They arranged an island tour that worked out really well but we ended up consulting other businesses related to setting up a hiking tour, with generally good results. Facilities, cleanliness, decor, everything along that line was quite acceptable at hotels in that range go. The pool really did need some work when we got there but someone cleaned it and then it didn't. It's funny how the most positive other review here says that there were lots of bugs around, it was dirty, the beds were hard, location terrible, hot water supply inconsistent, and so on. All that seemed to go a bit far, but then the hotel was basically empty when we were there, in between the hot season end and the low-season rainy period start. Hot water might well fluctuate more if the place was full. I saw some ants in the bathroom but living in Bangkok you tend to get used to that. To me it might make more sense to go with even more trade-offs related to facilities and seek out a better location, and extending that line of thinking lands people in those remote bungalo settings, some of which really are bamboo woven huts. It worked for us to be near to food vending areas, which also had us near bars, which different people could see as positive or negative. It might make sense to split vacation time on Koh Chang, to do a few days in a more populated area, and base day-trips out of that time (an island tour and snorkeling, for example, which we did along with a guided hike on a mountain), and then do more down-time in more remote area. Really the mix of interests in theme and emphasis on value would determine what would work best.

This is a fabulous location if you just want to kick back and totally chill. Sitting, people watching in the evening and popping into the room to get a cool beer and a glass of wine from the fridge before you venture to many of the good beach restaurants for your evening meal was perfect. No shoes required! It is basic accommodation, clean and tidy but it has everything you will need for a short stay. Suwimon has always been very friendly and helpful when we needed different chairs due to my bad back! We have stayed here numerous times and are looking forward to returning for Christmas 2018

Just imagine the infinity pool, floating into the sea... What a sight when you come down the stairs,on your way to your beach bungalow with a small private pool, escorted by wonderful staff, who are genuinely happy to see you again. It's the smiles and the nice feeling of hospitality, the way they can make you feel at home, that makes us come back to this wonderful resort. Breakfast offers a wide range of delicious food. Crispy fresh salad of many colors and tastes, yoghurt or cold milk, nice coffee and toast with real butter. Cakes, pancakes and waffles for those with a sweet tooth. If you prefer hot breakfast, there's all kinds of Thai dishes with rice or rice soup. Slightly hovering friendly staff make sure the whole buffet is always abundant and the tables are cleaned up fast to cater for the next guest. No beach I'm afraid, but gently steps take you down into nice and warm seawater. Mind the current though, it can be strong at times. After a nice swim, you can relax and enjoy a healthy fruitshake or a cold beer. Evening dinner by the seaside is part of the luxurious experience to end the day, only a few steps away from your 'home' Enjoy the richness in flavors from Thai cuisine or enjoy a burger with some fries. Nights are quiet, except for frogs and night creatures, but that's a great sound for falling asleep after yet another day in heaven. Krob Khun Ka to all the staff.

I would like to point out that I really enjoyed my stay in this excellent location and friendly and helpful staff, but will try to write my review to help people understand what you are paying for. Firstly the price I paid for a seafront location and idillic area is fantastic value for money. Let’s not forget this is a 3 star Hotel. The room was big and clean with superb air conditioning and cleaned as soon as you asked for it. Plenty of fresh towels, beach towels, dressing gowns, bottled water x 2 daily, flip flops, reasonably priced mini bar and coffee and tea making facilities. A nice big comfortable bed. Close to bars, restaurants and shops, yet could not hear the music and noise from my room. Rechargeable torch in the room was a nice touch, and very handy. I had a pool right outside my door and the sea front a matter of steps away. Ok the beach is not really a beach, yet a lovely sandy beach is minutes away, so no big deal. Free parking and perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing time. Good breakfast, you are not going to get a full English as we know it, but you are in Thailand, but plenty of choice. (Buffet style). Coffee shop on entrance to Resort. Plenty of sunbeds, deckchairs, bean bags and seating. All staff were very friendly and polite. I noticed security checking the grounds at night with a torch, which was reassuring. No wardrobe and only 5 hangers, but fine for my 5 night stay, and sure they would give you more if you asked. No bedside cabinet, which I like to put my stuff on before bed, but no big deal. In my room, I had a safety deposit box, why is not stated on Hotels.Com site and also the wording of shower only, is misleading as I had a separate shower and a massive bath tub. I think they are trying to say the shower is separate from the bath, but maybe lost in translation. The rooms are a bit dated and need a bit of TLC, but still perfectly adequate. Wi-fi is fantastic. Overall I had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to book again.

Hotel location can be said to be very good, the bed is also very comfortable. It is a large shopping supermarket. When the restaurant is photographed, Huang Xiaoming, the things they go to visit are very cheap. It’s all local people to buy food. It’s very convenient. The most important thing is the front desk. Chinese little brother is handsome and polite. Chinese is also very good. There is no obstacle to communication. Except that the hotel does not have a swimming pool, it is not a beach.

Stay end December 2019 and January 2020, 36 nights. This was the 4th time we stayed at Emerald Cove. We booked well over a year in advance, and they held our booking until we had our air tickets confirmed in March. We booked so early as our stay was over Christmas and New Years Eve and most of January, some 36 days ! The setting of this hotel is beautiful and the hotel structure is very very nice. First time we stayed at the hotel it was part of the Amari group, but the hotel was subsequently acquired by a local businessman. It is a nice high level hotel and the prices are thereafter. As far as we know, today there is no more European staff or management. Actually, it seems like there is no hotel manager at all. There is also less supervisory staff. A supervisor for the dinning room and another for the pool would be highly recommendable. When the hotel was full, the pool toilets became quickly unusable. The hotell has changed policy and now take in charter groups, especially Chinese and Russian. Filling the hotel with charter groups does not add to the pleasure of guests paying full price, on the contrary. When this happens, the group guests go up early in the morning and book all sun chairs around the pool and in the garden, often double booking and then hardly use them. Not a nice situation for a better hotel. Frequently in the afternoon, big loudspeakers were put up near the pool and extremely loud rap disco music was blaring on for the rest of the afternoon so hardly any conversation was possible. It looks like the new owner is turning the hotel from a nice five star beach resort to a charter group hotel. What a pity ! It also seems that the hotel management is doing less maintenance than necessary. The children's pool is in a sorry state and only a very few of the bubbling jets are working. The elevator in our house required action several times during our stay and once my wife got stuck inside the elevator between two floors. The Christmas dinner was not compulsory as the New Years Eve dinner was. We participated in both. The Christmas dinner was 2.500 Baht pp ( 80€) and the New Years Eve dinner was 6.000Baht p.p. (190€) drinks excluded. The food was abundant on both occasions, to abundant. The fireworks were fantastic, but the music and show really lousy. The breakfast buffé is great ! It is really a treat to start the day with such an abundant breakfast offering. Like before, ALL staff are very friendly and helpful. Especially I would like to commend Ms. Ubonwan by the pool, but all staff was great ! Even if most staff have only a rudimentary knowledge of english, they all showed good will to understand and help. When we go on a holiday here, all we want is to sit in the shadow all day and read. So when the hotel was full and everything booked before 7 o'clock in the morning, I complained to the hotel. Subsequently two chairs were reserved for us every day so we could sit in the shadow and read. That saved ou

We have just got back from our holiday at KC Grande. I use tripadvisor a lot but have never taken to write a review until now. KC Grande is definitely one of the most popular hotels on Koh Chang. It’s in a great location only a short drive from the ferry port. The Hotel has the most fantastic pristine white sand beach in front of it and the pools are amazing. On the hillside they have a great rooftop pool which has amazing views for the sunset. We stayed on the beach side as the Hotel has two parts. One side is across the road on the hillside and the other main part of the hotel is on the beachside of the road. This is where the restaurant are so it’s much more convenient. One of my favourite things to do on holiday is to sunbathe by the pool and despite there being lots of space and sun loungers it was almost impossible to do so. Selfish guests at the hotel reserve sun beds early in the morning with towels despite there being signs saying that this is prohibited. Some sun beds are left with towels on them all day and hardly ever used. Sadly the staff and management do nothing about it. We even complained on 3 separate occasions and nothing was done. We only managed to get two sun beds together on two occasions meaning that it was almost impossible to relax and sunbathe. I have stayed at other resorts where only hotel towels are permitted on the sun loungers and staff collect towel regularly when they are left unsupervised for a period of more than 30 minutes or so. I have also stayed at resorts where staff kindly collect guests towels that are left unsupervised and keep them at the pool bar so that they can be later collected. This means that sun beds are never reserved for long periods of time. I would never return because of this and I wish that I had known that this was an issue so that I could have gone else where the staff and management take customer experience more seriously. It really ruined our holiday and had we been able to we would have moved to another hotel.

The hotel is the same as in the photos, lovely newly refurnished pool area, beach right in front of the hotel is absolutely a bonus. However, I have to complaint on the awful service provided. I booked a simple thai double room. However, The room I checked in is completely different to the photos provided. It's absolutely a cheat. Basically, the photos shown on for simple thai, is actually a Local Thai room, which's a newly refurbished room. However, Just be aware that the Simple Thai is the old room. (Please refer to the photo I uploaded for the Local Thai room) During my stay, I have tried all the means I could to get in touch with and try to resolve the issue. But they didn't meet their promise to change my room neither, and it's totally a ridiculous experience with customer service.

When I review any accommodation I try to be objective, regardless of my opinion or experience. I have found it difficult to write this review on The Dewa as it is neither particularly positive or negative and that just about sums up the Resort in my opinion - a bit average. We stayed for one week. The hotel is located on a lovely long stretch of white sand, Klong Prao Beach, sandwiched between Vayna hotel and Family restaurant. The whole beach front is full of restaurants, bars, massage parlours etc, so very buzzy. The hotel’s sun beds are set at the back of the beach, under sun shades & natural shade from trees, and are therefore not in the sun until mid afternoon. They are wooden beds, with a thin mattress, we found them uncomfortable to lay on after a while. To allow guests to enjoy the sun on the beach, they provide beanbags (very comfortable) and mattress’s - unfortunately, as it’s a public beach, we witnessed outsiders taking advantage of this, meaning some hotel guests went without this facility. Also, guests of the hotel’s sister hotel, The Ramayana, turned up daily & also used these facilities, so my advice would be to get down the beach early. Whilst we felt comfortable leaving our belongings on the beds while we went for a swim, I wouldn’t have left anything of value on a beanbag, with everyone walking past. Firstly, the hotel itself. It promotes itself as ‘distinctly different and absolute unique with its famous fusion architecture’ and yes the building is very different to most Thai resorts. The reception, rooms and villas are for the most part a collection of concrete structures with either palm or wood shingle roofs. There is a large swimming pool (positive) in the centre of the Resort with all of the rooms located on one side of the long pool. This is where all of the available sunbeds are also located, which are directly in front of the rooms. They’re in the sun in the morning & shade in the afternoon. There is a swim up pool bar but no access to the bar unless you swim up to it! The villas are located on the other side of the pool and down towards (but not on) the beach, and can best be described as a large round two story concrete bunker. Grey concrete outside and grey concrete plaster effect finish inside - just very grey and very dark - and in many ways it looks like it has just not been finished! The majority of the guests are Russian or Eastern European. We had a villa - a large room, with comfortable king size bed, 2 relaxing chairs, fridge, coffee table, kettle (inaccessible unless you removed the drinks tray) & desk ( although this was sandwiched between a wall & the bed, not leaving much room to get into bed. I regularly banged my thigh on the edge if I got up in the night.) Balcony had 2 chairs & table but looked directly onto the opposite villa’s balcony, so not at all private, and the door didn’t fit properly in the frame, meaning we couldn’t lock it. The floor space of the villa was probably a square, with the be

The entire experience at Santhiya Tree was perfect from the moment we set foot on the property. The front desk gave us all the information we needed without us asking any questions and made sure we had everything we needed upon arrival. There are different types of rooms on this resort but we got the type with the private infinity pool and we did not regret it one bit. The room was beautiful, they did not forget a single detail. The only thing I would say is if you are unable or unwilling to walk a lot I would choose the other rooms because the private pool rooms are on the farthest side of the resort from the beach, restaurant, and spa. They offered a deal for 1/2 off spa services if you booked on the first night of staying. We jumped on that and sure glad we did. They noticed we were sore and sunburn and rubbed tiger balm all over us. The included breakfast was the most extravagant included hotel breakfast I’ve ever seen. We also rented a scooter from the resort and it went so smoothly. They didn’t try to rip us off and that was enough piece of mind to pay the few dollar extra compared to renting off the resort. Over all I can’t think of any negatives from our experience.

It was a great new year journey to the post COVID-19 situation in Thailand we travel all the way from Bangkok to Koh Chang which is a lot better than what we expected at the beginning. The resort is located in a very decent location having private beach and small islands that you can row your kayak to. We booked the room at the reasonable price considering it was a high season, however because of the pandemic situation, there was not a lot of people and the rooms are not fully booked. We were happy with the scenery and the amenities that Hotel provided however we were not very satisfied with the cleanliness of the rooms and amenities. The roads on koh Chang is a little difficult to drive, please be aware. however there are a lot of interesting places and activities you can enjoy especially for your family children and even seniors.
