Koh Chang
|12.29km from city centerSeveral hotel establishments in the same hotel group share the resort, but the Peninsula seems to be the best of all thanks to its position on the beach and its (poor) rooms (store and very pleasant). The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable and the bathroom is very convenient and well-organised. The air conditioning is also very successful, with several possible combinations, including headlights. The beach is beautiful, clean but not deep. The sunshine is just in front. The negative points: you need to be motorised, because the hotel is quite isolated. The big weak point is the restaurant that is not at the level of the standing. The hotel is very well located in the city centre, and the hotel is very close to the city centre. Last bad point: the reception is unable to give any information about the activities (e.g. the snorkelling that is supposed to be offered), they don't know or say there's nothing at the moment. Unfortunately, there is a lack of customer attention and nothing is done to meet expectations (after 17h, more kayak, because the staff wanted to leave): a big point to improve to maintain a quality level.

Koh Chang
|5.07km from city centerKho Chang is a beautiful island covered with trees, mountains and waterfalls. There are perfect beaches on its western shore. On one of these is Coconut Beach Resort. It's scale and architecture suit this island. Some larger hotels there might as well be in overdeveloped cities. Accommodation is in clusters of two-story buildings innThai style, grouped around a beautiful swimming pool and tropical gardens. There are trees on the beach with hanging swings and womb chairs. The restaurant has tables at the edge of the beach. The Thai food is delicious - seafood in red curry, whole fish simmering at your table, grilled prawns - and there are cocktails to complete the holiday treat. Service is friendly and efficient.

|4.17km from city center11/25/23 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Friendly ,professional and accommodating staff Very private and quiet location 3 wonderful nights Arrived at 12:00pm . Rooms were available and the wonderful receptionist checked me in early. The room I reserve was older. I viewed the renovated rooms by the reception building and it was magical. Modern, King bed , large tub for two, high ceiling , balcony, rain shower , water kettle , beach and bath towel etc etc . Take my money please !!!!!!! Paid extra , but so worth it( see pics). Breakfast was simple: eggs, pancakes , thai food , instant coffee, tea bags , hot water , fruits and salad. Resort is next to the beach. Fine sand, calm shallow water , very clean and baby elephants playing in the sea. The staff here is what made this resort shine. Always greeted with a smile Plenty of auto and bike parking. Location: 30 min to the ferry/pier 5 minute walk to the main road 5 “. “ to amazing restaurants , bars, live music , massages, cafes , motorbike rentals , ****s shops , etc etc . Best location for all your needs. Lovely stay. Looking forward to my next visit .

|11.46km from city centerWe have just returned from a month at this lovely resort. It was amazing! The rooms are huge, bright, airy, spotless and have great views. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and served literally on the beach. You can watch fish swimming and hear the waves- it’s a stunning location. There are 3 large pool areas to choose from. All are spotless, with plenty of Sun loungers, Bean bags, tables and chairs, bars and clean toilet/shower facilities. There are plenty of shaded areas to sit/lie in too! The beach is perfect for young children- as it is very long, shallow and sandy, but we swam every day in the sea- some days you just have to walk out quite a bit. There was some construction, maintenance and repair work going on around the resort while we were there, but this did not spoil our holiday at all. My favourite part was the Shambhala Beach Bar- it was absolutely gorgeous! The food and drink prices at the hotel were very reasonable (£5/£6 upwards for 2 meals and water) and there are also plenty of places to eat nearby, just outside the resort & along the main road. We ate mainly at the little restaurant just by the entrance to the hotel grounds (£3 for 2 main courses and a large bottle of water!) and also at Khun Tees on the main road (£4-£5 for the same). It is a 10-15 minute walk down to breakfast/beach area, but it’s a lovely walk through all the on-site villas, gardens and waterways. The oath is well paced and even and if you can’t manage the walk- reception are happy to send a golf buggy to collect you from outside your room. We would definitely come back here again!

|4.54km from city centerWe come since many years to koh chang, but this time we choose Flora because of our 2 little dogs. There are not many petfriendly resorts at the island and Flora isn't only that. All of us were happy in that 5 days we are staying. Only a step from the beach, a beautiful garden, many other guest with dogs, unbelievable caretaking staff of Flora, and so much more. If you travel with animals, this is the first choice. Highly recommended 👑👑👑

|4.77km from city centerWe had family visiting Thailand for the first time, and we stayed at both the Koh Chang Paradise Hill Resort and the sister resort Koh Chang Paradise Resort across the street. If you want to read about my awful experience at the sister resort, Koh Chang Paradise, you can read my other review. Our stay at the Koh Chang Paradise Hill Resort was fun and relaxing. My kids enjoyed the waterpark and the beach. The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful. Two thumbs up for the staff! The only negative experience I had with a staff member was at breakfast one morning. I had sprained my ankle right before our beach holiday and was hobbling around at breakfast filling up my personal mug with tea because the provided cups were really small and I didn’t want to have to get up multiple times to refill the small cup. A chef got angry at me and told me to not use my personal mug. He raised his voice at me and told me unkindly to not do what I was doing. I explained to him that I had hurt my ankle and did not want to get up multiple times to get more tea. I don’t think he really listened to me because he kept talking to me with an angry voice about not using my cup. Thankfully all the other staff at breakfast have been great. The lifeguards at the pool were great. One of the kids in our group slipped and cut her foot, and they cared for her with proper first aid. I appreciated their professional approach! Cleaning ladies were cheerful and smiled a lot.

|6.96km from city centerWhere do I start?! Elephant Bay Resort is my new favourite place in the world!! My partner and I stayed here in March 2020 for almost 3 months. We have stayed in both standard and superior rooms. Both are more than adequate for a comfortable stay. Powerful aircon, mosquito nets and TV (Superior room). Lovely veranda to sit on and enjoy the views. The main bar area has comfy couches, board games and pool table...and tasty mojitos! Our original stay was during the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic, and I'm so happy to have been 'stuck' here during it all. We returned again for 3 weeks (August 2020) and all the staff were so welcoming and happy to see familiar faces back at the resort. Dee, Zom, Go, Ty and Jha are all so lovely and smiley and always there to make sure you have everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Elephant Bay isn't complete without the 2 resident fur babies, Gogo - the talking dog and Charlie - the mosquito catcher! Both gorgeous, friendly dogs who will quickly become your best friends! Our stay wouldn't have been the same without the owners Remco and Ann. They went above and beyond to make us feel like we were staying with family and it made me very sad to leave. We will without a doubt be back to visit Elephant Bay, hopefully in the near future. Thank you all so much, we miss everyone already! See you all soon. Rachel & Marc :)

|7.2km from city centerHaving done the detox multiple times at The Spa Samui Lamai Beach & Village, I was keen to experience this as a comparison. Oh my word I’m so glad I did! It is the exact same programme which I know and love, and which really works. Even has ‘Guy’s breakfast’ on the menu 😄. The refurbished rooms are beautiful, ours had a huge bathtub and amazing balcony. The room was a fabulous size with an extremely comfortable kingsize bed. Massage was amazing too, including Ampuku. Gym needs an overhaul, but I imagine that is next on the refurbish agenda. But there is yoga, and there are bicycles and kayaks free to use. If you know the sister Spa’s in Samui this is more like the village in its peaceful location, but nicer as it’s not as hilly. It doesn’t have anything nearby so if you want to explore the busier parts of the island you’ll need a car/scooter. The nearest beach is Long beach, 10 min shuttle from the hotel, and one of the loveliest we’ve found in Thailand. This is the perfect detox oasis and I’m already planning my next trip. Thank you to Poon & your team, your resort is a magical haven in a crazy world.

|7.93km from city centerThis place is very quiet, but only a few minutes walk from the beach. I slept in another bungalow complex on the beach for a few nights but was constantly awoken in the night by the howling of dogs. At Tree House I sleep through the night without being disturbed. I absolutely love my room. In one side, the wall is almost fully taken up with a large patio sliding door, so it is bright and has a great view over the salt water lagoon outside. This is budget accommodation, but whoever designed it has taste. The bathroom is very nice. There is a large sliding wardrobe with plenty of room to hang your shirts and store things. This is something you don't usually get in rooms of this price. The staff are friendly, though they speak very little English. This hasn't been a problem, we have just used Google translate when necessary. The cafe / restaurant area is really nicely done. It has that lovely mix of man-made and wild that a good Chinese style garden has. The food is good and slightly cheaper than on the beach. Very few people staying here, so really suitable for those who want somewhere peaceful. They have a good capsule coffee maker so u can get your fix for a mere 50 baht. I'm paying 800 baht (900 if I stay less than a week) per night for an AC room with a beautiful view, which is a good deal for a nice room close to the beach in this area in high season. I would highly recommend this place for those who want something charming, quiet and unique in the budget price bracket.

|7.25km from city centerTraveling to Koh Chang on Songkran Day, if the Accor Group uses benefits, it must be considered. Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway booked a Standard room but was upgraded to a Deluxe Seaview room and received Platinum benefits. Quite complete. The room is okay. I like it because I have to pay only 1,402 baht per night. The room is full due to a long holiday. I'm glad I upgraded. I have reserved 3 rooms, there are welcome drinks for all 3 rooms. For dinner, most of the guests leave their stomachs at the Buffet Hotel because it is Songkran Festival. Accor Plus cannot use the discount at all. The price is not expensive, only 530 baht per person, but.. Phra Chuay Thai food is delicious. Anyone staying here recommends trying Thai food. The happy hour here is satisfyingly long from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anyone who eats the buffet will receive a buy 1 free 1 promotion until 10:00 p.m., very worthwhile. The highlight of this place is a lot of photo angles, and taking beautiful photos, but the beach is not okay, which is a weak point. The sea water is hardly played because there are a lot of rocks. I mostly stay at the swimming pool 100% recommend if anyone sleeps here to relax and snorkel on the last day, come back to swim at the pool, take chic photos and eat buffet 🙂 Breakfast is quite suitable for Thai people, focusing on spicy Thai food. It also has my favorite pizza. The hotel has a Starbucks on the beach but does not participate in a star or membership program. For me, April 13-15 is a rest day. I'm pretty happy here. Let's just say for Accor members or group members. If anyone comes to Koh Chang, recommend here. You can get both nights and points. If there is any problem during your stay, I suggest you don't wait, hurry and share with him. He knows the problem and is ready to take care of it immediately. Come to Koh Chang next time, Mercure is still our choice.

One of us dropped his mobile phone while riding a motorcycle around the island. We didn’t report any hope. The front desk asked us at the police station and sent a staff member to drive us to claim it. Okay. Moved, the nice guys who picked up the phone, the police, and the hotel staff were very nice.

Tips If you want to the waterfall Klung Plu and don’t want to ride pickup taxi but Toyota minibus walk 150m on the beach to Mr T travel (right beside Mr T bar). It was excellent that the resort provided new bottles of drinking water every day. We had delicious lunch and dinners at the restaurant. Paddle a kayak was included. White Sand Beach
Koh Chang
|8.85km from city centerThe position is given 5 points: it is in the middle of the white sand beach. If you choose a sea view room, the door opens to the beach. 20 meters into the beach in front of me, there are no small rocks or reefs, all of which are fine sand.
Hotel facilities give 3 points: a very old hotel. All facilities are 10 years ago, domestic 2 star standard, the family room is a diagonal room on the back of the mountain across the road. There is no sea view at all. Downstairs is the most smelly drainage ditch in the entire white beach. After staying for 15 days, I changed 3 hotels and walked all over the white beach.
Breakfast is given 3 points: the most common level, in line with the most basic requirements of foreigners. There are eggs, bread, butter, coffee, 4 Thai dishes that are not fixed every day, 2 kinds of fruits, watermelon. Don't expect too much, eat 4 days to be unlovable.
Room type: I live in a family room of 60 square meters. There are two single beds and one double bed. Four adults have no problem sleeping at all.
Price: Because it is 1002 a room during the Spring Festival. The family room is 200 more expensive than the sea view spa resort I booked later. The latter definitely has a 4-star standard. At the same time, there are private beaches, islands, and cable cars. The previous hotel I stayed at ”Banpu” was more cost-effective than him.
Service; the front desk brother is very enthusiastic. Good English. No one in the hotel understands Chinese. By the way, I lived in Koh Chang for half a month. Only the Russian foreman in the Grand Spa can speak Chinese, English and Russian. No other hotel can speak Chinese at all. English is pretty good.
Wifi signal: All are small routers. The signal is gone after a few steps. There is only the signal from the breakfast room downstairs. No other signals. The overall signal on Koh Chang is not good. It is incomparable to Bangkok and Pattaya.

|4.83km from city centerOur stay was absolutely amazing from the moment we checked in until we left. Shoutout to Alex at the reception, who made our experience even more memorable by upgrading us to the Beachfront Grand Villa. It was beyond awesome! The room was beautifully designed with all new furnishings and a breathtaking view. Alex really went out of his way to make our holiday special, and we can't thank him enough. We were a bit worried about the October weather, but it turned out to be mostly great, with just a short 15-minute rain spell, which wasn't a big deal for us. The service was top-notch, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The breakfast spot was a real winner, especially after its recent renovation. The new coffee machines are so cool! The variety of food available was mind-boggling. The location of the resort couldn't have been better. The beach area was pristine, with crystal-clear and calm waters. No rocks or corals to be found, just pure sandy bliss. And the cherry on top? The 8 P.M. live music and fire show on the beach—such a magical way to end the day. We truly had a blast! Thanks a million, Great Alex, for making it all happen.

|3.03km from city centerWe loved the pool and the beach was nice. People were nice and polite, the resort was very green and felt very tropical, with many palm trees. Amazing sunsets can be enjoyed from the beach, pool and the bar!
On the con side, the food wasn’t great - e.g. undercooked red chicken, too sweet mango rice cake etc. Surprisingly bad food for Thailand. Breakfast was slightly better. Room cleaners didn’t really clean bathtubs, nor replace stuff provided for free in the toilet, collect dirty plates from the room. AC was the central one - pretty loud, and those sensitive wouldn’t find the bed or pillows comfortable.
Overall, it was OK, but I wouldn’t go back.

I booked it the night before we arrived, and was not sure what to expect since our two first choises was fully booked. How lucky we were! We are very experienced travellers, and have stayed in numerous hotels in Thailand. After a brief discussion, we agrèed that this is the best place so far. The resort is owned by a nice german/thai couple. We booked a bungalow with sea view, and it is perfect. ”Sea view” here is an understatement. The only thing you see when looking straight out from the balcony and bedroom, is the sky and the sea. Love sitting outside in the morning, sipping coffee and listen to the birds and the waves. Everything works perfect in the bungalow. Big bedroom with both a/c and fan. Same with the livingroom. Good and reasonably priced minibar. Fast wifi. Excellent breakfast. Not buffet, but you order from a menu with a huge variety. We ate dinner in the restaurant the other night, and was very satisfied. Plenty of restarants nearby. The austrian next door, and the With Elephant across the road both serve good food. Very nice and quiet pool area. Staff is excellent as well. This is the first place we have stayed where the room has been cleaned while we were eating breakfast. 10 mins walk to White sand beach. We highly reccomend this place!!

We stayed in one of the Deluxe cottages which was beautiful and very clean, however the noise from other a/c units and the big router/internet machine outside our door sounded very loud at night (I had to wear earplugs at night). For such a lovely place we expected a bit more of a quiet space.
At checkout our bill was incorrect so it’s worth checking rather than you assume all is well.

White Sand Beach
Koh Chang
|8.23km from city centerLocated at the southern end of White Sands beach. The beachfront is rocky but a path has been cleared of rocks to allow access to the sandy bottom beyond. For the start of the sand only beach you only have to walk along for about 50 metres. Reception staff were friendly and cheerful. We had booked triple rooms for 5 nights due to late booking. I assume double rooms are an option. The buildings are aged but fairly well maintained. The room was clean with one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in around Thailand. Eveything worked just fine. The cleaning ladies were doing their thing on a daily basis. The breakfast was adequate. Juices, coffee, toast, fried eggs, omelet, hotdogs, thai dishes more than enough fuel for day's activity. Anyone who is critical of breakfast is just a whinger IMHO. Our group came together one day for lunch at the restaurant. No complaints from any group member about the food. I did not use the swimming pool as I'm a beach person. It did look well maintained with a number of sunloungers and deck chairs provided. To the reviewer who compared Banpu with Kacha I say they are incomparable. Why? Well the Banpu property has been established a lot longer than Kacha. Plus Kacha is not a beachfront property and their rooms, albeit more modern looking are at the same time a lot more expensive. Overall, I found Banpu good value for money and I enjoyed my stay here.

If you have good water quality, you can consider putting on a life jacket to swim to the opposite island in the morning. I heard that you can rent a boat at the hotel to ski over. Even after the late rising tide, it’s too far and tired. After going out from the hotel to the main convenience store, there is a restaurant that is delicious and cheap.

If you need supplies and drinks for your fridge, then I suggest you shop in Bang Bao before you check in or hire a scooter from them to get around.
