I've been coming to the State House regularly for the past 8 years. I was completely enchanted the first time, and have never been disappointed. Both the main house and the annex, three doors down, have beautiful, well-appointed, comfortable rooms. The space has been lovingly maintained, keeping true to the period of each building. I've stayed in 5 or 6 different rooms in both buildings over the years, and each has it's charms. Some have separate library spaces, others bay-window reading areas, or kitchenettes. Most recently, for the second or third time, we stayed in Room 3F in the main building and it was perfect for the two of us. There are many pieces of interesting original artwork throughout the inn--perhaps an homage to the original owner. I love the woodwork, lighting, and decor, and I appreciate the taste and care with which the place has been designed, maintained, and restored. Views of Washington Park and of the inn's courtyard garden are beautiful in every season, and the neighborhood architecture is stunning. There are many fine restaurants and casual-but-delicious places in walking distance or a short drive away (check out the Honest Weight Food Co-op, and dim-sum at Rain). The owners are talented professionals, and the staff is wonderful (special shout out to Anthony). From my first visit, I've felt welcomed and attended to, without being fussed over. Breakfast is a help-yourself situation (which I prefer), with just the right array of options. I think of my stay at Morgan State House as a lovely way to treat myself whenever I'm in Albany.

Hotel location is very good, basically walking distance. The parking lot is right at the back door of the hotel. It is very convenient, 16 knives a day, after check-out, you can stop there and no longer charge in the afternoon. Breakfast is not bad. Two 1 meter 5 large beds, no extra bed required.

It's very cheap and not that far from downtown although it's not downtown like the title says. The main problem is the smell. Our room was not dirty (it was OK not super clean) but the smell and humidity is something. Even if it's a non-smoking room, it smells like it is. I did not feel safe in this area but nothing happened, so I think it depends on your personality. 1 night max and just for sleeping, you don't want to chill in the room for too long.

From the NYC, I was shocked when I first entered the door. I didn't expect the price as Manhattan to be so luxurious. It was the most luxurious hotel I have ever lived in. It is estimated that four to five hundred yuan a day in the second-tier cities in China is almost the same condition. The breakfast is very good, the free coffee is very good, the breakfast style is not much but very rich, and there is hot water provided downstairs, which is rare in the United States. The surrounding area is extremely ridiculous, but Albany is really the status of the urban-rural integration of the four-line small county in the mainland.

Overall, the staff, hotel and room is great. Kitchen is beautiful, nice window with sheers and green space view. Room carpet is in good shape. Mattress comfy.  Suggestions:  Elevator carpet is extremely stained - time for linoleum or tile. Having ALL amenities (laundry/gym/breakfast room) completely closed is disappointing since many hotels have them open. Sofa is completely caved in, covered sofa means no pull out option usable. Bed has no skirt, lamps have no finials, some shades damaged. Entrance doors need the handicapped button especially when you are trying to shove a heavy luggage cart through and also have to unlock, open and hold the door open for yourself at the same time is unnecessary. Track light over desk bulbs non functional/flickering/buzzing. Desk chair arm broken. Chips/staining in tub need painting with appropriate waterproof acrylic/fiberglass touch up gloss white paint, also has soap scum layer on inside, needs properly cleaned, Tub fills slowly, drains slowly and is creaky and bathroom sink drains slowly.  Softer bath towels would be great. The three small stove burners are not level for some reason. Bathroom wall and cabinet stained with black hair dye. Back of bathroom door has small holes in it. Toilet paper is very low quality and there is no back up roll. Wifi often is connecting / disconnecting as I am attempting to work on the computer. All doors need a fresh coat of paint, as they have many scuffs/scratches on both sides of front and bathroom doors. Ethernet port non functional. Kitchen stock irregular (4 calendars and zero forks), one of the drinking glasses in the dishwasher broken. Bible and book of mormon in the nightstand definitely not needed in a secular establishment. Top of AC and microwave dusty. Kitchen and bathroom cabinet pulls would be nice. Dried candle wax on end table. TV guide and apps would be nice. TV remote covered in tape since the battery compartment cover is missing. Baseboard carpet into kitchen frayed (can easily clip loose threads with scissors). Front of oven covered in dust and grease. Dead bugs in kitchen ceiling light. Gap under room door is wide enough to allow hallway light to come in and does not provide much sound proofing from hallway sounds. Phone is so old it's turned from white to yellow. Furniture ledges, top of fridge, desk chair legs (especially headboard) very dusty. Bathroom picture glass has dried hairspray all over it. Garbage disposal has no rubber flashing to prevent items from falling through, needs a strainer (dollar store item). Peep hole needs the swivel cover. Kitchen hood vent bulb did not work until I had to screw it back in the socket (maids need to check this). Some curtain hooks have come off and need re-hooking. Iron with no ironing board equates to ironing on the floor. Bathroom shower surround caulking/sealant cracked, needs refreshing/filling. Window screens ripped (looks like someone pushed out a corner hole to flick cigarette ash out of). One of the

Writing a review before leaving this property because I don’t want time to escape me when I finish vacation! We selected this location because of its proximity to the people we wanted to visit, but it proved to be an outstanding hotel for its grouping. We checked in on Friday Nov 24th for a 4 night stay. Received a really warm welcome at the desk. The room was a short distance from the elevator, this is problematic for some but I was traveling with a person of limited mobility and had asked for this convenience. It was very comfortable and roomy, with all the necessities covered. The staff we have encountered over the last three days have been helpful beyond the call and provide that assistance with a warm smile every time. Breakfast is complimentary and of an exceptionally high standard. I travel a great deal for work purposes and I would have to say, a ‘complimentary’ breakfast often underwhelms in terms of freshness and variety, not so in this case. Everything was particularly fresh and was replenished constantly and I would challenge anyone to fault the variety available. The key attractions for us in this property have to be first and foremost, the excellent staff. In a close second comes the great start to each day provided by the excellent breakfast.

I have stayed at this location several times before the covid pandemic and two times during the covid pandemic. The staff, particularly, Andrew are very nice which is why I gave a rating of two instead of one. Also, the room was very clean. The reason for my low rating is threefold: 1. When I stayed during the July 24th 2020 weekend, the breakfast was bare minimal. I totally understand that they cannot offer the breakfast buffet during covid but their to-go breakfast bag consisted of a bottle of water, a BJ's pastry, a nutragrain bar and a golf size clementine. When I wrote the review back then, management responded that they were still adjusting to the pandemic and to give them some time. I was just their during Columbus Day weekend and the breakfast bag is the same. I have spoken with friends who have stayed during the pandemic at other Hampton Inns and they were given a choice of juice, yogurt, fruit and a flavor packet for the water. They are saving a lot of money by not doing the breakfast buffet, they can put in a bit more effort into the breakfast bag. Thankfully, there is a Starbucks a block from them. 2. Columbus Day weekend was just after a storm in the area that knocked out power for over 100,000 people. All the hotels were booked to capacity because of out of town utility workers and tree workers. There is a small sign when you enter the hotel about wearing a face-mask. When I went into the lobby to get towels and hot water for tea, two men were sitting by the chairs near the front door with no face masks on or even in sight. You could not avoid passing them if you came in the front door or from the hallway where the first floor rooms are. There were also two men sitting at a table working with no face masks on. I mentioned to the young lady about the men not wearing face-masks and that New York law requires face-masks indoors when distancing is not possible. The response that I got is "we are not face-mask police, if you want to say something to them you can." These men were more than twice my weight and I am 5 foot 1 inch tall, seriously, I am going to approach these men and what authority do I have? My husband and I are immune compromised, if I have to worry about walking into the lobby because a front desk person cannot walk over to a guest and explain that face masks are required, then I can no longer stay at this location. People were also going into the elevator without face-masks on. Other hotels in the area have larger signs letting people know that face masks are required. 3. Before the covid pandemic, we stayed in rooms on the upper floors and did not experience any problems with the rooms. Because of the pandemic we have requested rooms on the first floor near the side entrance to lower our chances of passing other people. One of the reasons why we love the Hampton Inn chain is because their beds are always comfortable. During our July visit, the box spring in room 102 was broken. This time w

This hotel is the best Hampton we have ever booked at! The employees are very friendly. They work very hard too. Each time I saw a guest they had something nice to say. We had the same housekeeper "Lumi" each day until the last day so we didn't get a chance to say goodbye to her. She did a wonderful job keeping our room clean and gave us everything we needed each day. She didn't speak English but still managed to make our stay the best! If my boyfriend ever books there again I will be sure to request Lumi to handle our room! The rest of the hotel was clean and very beautiful to look at so congratulations on selecting such a worthy cleaning team! It matters! The food was delicious and the dining area was kept clean the entire time! The pool was equally great with deep blue sparkly water and fluffy towels always within reach! Just wonderful! Demetris at the check-in desk was friendly and quick and even gave us directions to a few places we inquired about. Oh it was just fantastic to be cared about by the staff!

From Cornell University to Salisbury Road, I stayed at this hotel for one night. The hotel environment is very good and very quiet. After check-out, I will take a break in the lobby to handle some things for the next trip. The landscaping is good, there is no question whether you have parking or not. Breakfast buffet is charged and not used. The staff is very welcoming and ask if you need to bring two bottles of water when you check out. Chinese, Japanese and Korean cuisines are available within three kilometers. I will come to stay in this place next time.

We look for Spring Hill Suites when staying with family for one night stays. They’re generally clean, safe, nice staff, and the layout (2 beds and separate area with desk and sofa bed) allow for our family of five to stay comfortably without needing a second room. This location was one of the best SHS we’ve stayed at (out of dozens) because of location but especially because of the staff, one employee actually. Michael was on duty the evening we called ahead with some questions and to confirm our reservation and he was very helpful and professional. When we checked in, Michael was on duty and was so helpful and professional. He helped us with dinner delivery, helped us find the baseball playoff game we were looking for on tv, and even called back a little later to see if there was anything else we needed. The room was clean, fairly large for the cost, with coffee maker, refrigerator, iron, and sink outside bathroom. Temperature controls worked well and beds were very comfortable. Don’t underestimate the free breakfast and parking which would have surely cost us in excess of $90 combined at another property.

Excellent, fantastic, beautiful, immaculate, wonderful! I could go on and on about this hotel. I really enjoyed my stay here. Marriott has taken it to another level and it’s going to be hard for the other hotel to keep up. First being a Marriott Bonvoy rewards member you get some nice perks. I pre checked in on the app, so it was only a few seconds to complete checking in. The front desk service is superior. I forget names but the rep at the desk provided outstanding service, he checked me in and checked out the next morning. Later that evening another rep was extremely helpful. Next the room, I loved the layout of the room, I slept in a very comfortable bed, had a nice shower and like all Marriotts a great cable package with the options to sign into your Netflix and YouTube accounts. Great location, close to the airport, restaurants and shopping.

Family went to see grandson wrestle in NY state championship tournament in the Time Union Center downtown Albany. We always stay at the Desmond and get an executive suite with an adjoining room. Room service is prompt and restaurants are as good as any of the local ones off premises.

Our family travels through Albany pretty frequently so we stay in the area often and have stayed here 4 or 5 times in 2019 and every time was a great experience. The rooms are spacious, well cleaned and well stocked with everything you could need even traveling with 4 kids. The pool and fitness room are fantastic and the outdoor basketball and fire pit are the perfect extra touch (weather permitting of course) However what I think makes this hotel stand out is the staff. Everyone is professional, great, understanding and extremely helpful. I want to give a special shout out to Donna who pretty much every time we are there has in some way or another gone above and beyond to help make the trip easier, more enjoyable and just all around better!

Hotel was clean and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfy. I would definitely stay there again. The breakfast was just "ok". The food and variety was fine but, like most hotel breakfasts, eggs and meat were microwaved. Again, didn't taste bad but there are other nearby options with a bit more quality in the food. Just outside the exit where the baggage is right, pass a small road in the middle of the road. The front desk of the hotel is very fast, and there is hot water opposite the front desk. Overall, the staff, hotel and room are great.  Suggestions:  No bath matt towel, I didn't notice the hair dryer in the closet until checking out.  Luggage cart wheel flat so very difficult to push and steer.  There's a constant high pitch humming sound I think is coming from fridge.  Shower water pressure could be better.  Peep holes in the door need the swivel cover.  Alarm clock difficult to read display.  Religious books in the night stand drawer are definitely unnecessary.  Smoke detector has a flashing light that is distracting as I am trying to fall asleep.  Toilet seat does not stay in the up position.  Even after finding a nickel to adjust fridge temp lower, it still froze my food, unless the bottom is supposed to be the freezer portion, but it's not labeled that way, so have to experiment trial and error what area gets frozen or not.  The gym was closed even though other hotels have them open. I would stay here again, but for the price point these things should not be an issue.

From the moment you walk in until you check out you are greeted and left feeling completely genuinely appreciated. This is a split hotel with residence in on one side and courtyard on the other but shares the same check in lobby, fitness room and lobby computers. With the open air lobby and dining areas on both sides of the hotel you will feel completely welcome and relaxed. I stayed in the residence Inn room and loved well appointed room, very comfortable bed, wide desk, big TV on a swivel mount, and the ability to eat dinner on the kitchen countertop while I watched the news. The hotel is in walking distance to a few local restaurants which you can bring food back to the room from. If you are as loyal as I am to Marriott, travel for business 3 to 4 days per week, then you’re most likely always looking for a brand new Marriott or a newly remodeled property. You’re going to find it here as it’s worth every penny
