|5.07km from city centerIn our room there was a dirty towel hanging on the back of our bathroom door. Then the lights went out at 2am and did not come back on till 4:30. So that left us hot absinthe dark for hours. Also I had two irons in my room that didn’t work the both left my clothes wet from the water leaking out of them both.

|5.16km from city centerI’m the type of person who spends hours reading reviews before I’ll book, even if it’s just for one night!! This place looked ok, even if it was a bit pricier than usual. Check in was ok, although no recognition of my BW elite status. We were given a double room instead of the queen I’d paid for but I couldn’t be bothered asking to move. We were also sent out the back of the hotel which had done shady characters hanging around doing what looked like drug deals. We kept to ourselves and double locked the door! The pillows were good but it felt like you were rolling off the side of the bed. The room was clean and shower was good. Coffee machine didn’t work. Breakfast was awesome, busy but clean and they kept everything stocked. Overall stay was good and we would stay again.

|1.35km from city centerThis place is in walking distance to the beach. Close to restaurants (Shaggy’s, Saulte’, Chimneys). We enjoyed walking to the beach and the restaurant options near by. There is a restaurant on site. During our stay, there appeared to be parties and other events so we did not eat there. We enjoyed renting beach chairs a close by. There were a couple of things that didn’t make it perfect. We were told the restaurant closed at 10p. On the Saturday, there was a bunch of commotion that carried well past 12a at the restaurant. No worries for us but could be bothersome for some. Especially because you could hear everything through the balcony and walls. Then the Sunday night, our neighbor was extra loud. Not the fault of the hotel. But he was hollering and playing music very loud. It could be head from our room. He was pretty obnoxious. All in all, this place has so much potential. We did enjoy our overall stay. The “Melinda” suite was nice and cozy. And the restaurants nearby were nice. Plus the beach is right there!! I would consider staying here again.

|4.71km from city centerA last minute trip to the coast had us searching for an inexpensive place to stay for a few days. The hotels along the gulf coast were ridiculously expensive, so we started looking for a room inland. Christina was so helpful and made sure we were satisfied with our room. Nothing fancy, clean comfortable bed, clean bathroom, coffee pot, mini fridge and microwave. One negative: the floor was vacuumed but needed a good mopping.

|6.36km from city centerMy family (and several other families) stayed here for a youth ball tournament over the weekend. Check in was quick and easy and even got early check in. The front desk clerks were very helpful and generally seemed happy to help with any of our requests. Our room was clean and we had plenty of extra towels brought to us when we requested. This hotel is close to several restaurants and shopping centers. Gulf Island Waterpark and the Gulfport Sportsplex were less than 2 miles away. Overall, we had a great stay and I would recommend this hotel for your Gulf Coast stay.

|5.03km from city centerMy husband and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn for an extended weekend and we were pleased. The room was clean, everything worked and the front desk staff was professional and polite. It’s an older hotel but, again, it was clean and well-kept so we had no issues. I very much enjoyed the central location; they had the Outlet Mall nearby as well as another bargain shopping center and movie theater. There’s even a Walmart almost directly across the street. The one problem with the location is that no-one delivers to that zip code (unless you use a delivery app service like Waitr, Postmates etc). We tried to have pizza or chinese delivered, but no luck. I could talk about the continental breakfast was nothing spectacular, and the towels not being the most plush, but that wouldn’t be fair. This is a budget hotel and we got exactly what we paid for—nothing less. We’d definitely stay here again if we ever go back to Gulfport.

|5.23km from city centerWe booked two nights here at this hotel, Friday 05/20-05/22. The hotel at check it was busy and the staff seemed to be to busy to answer simple questions or have any suggestions about things I asked. We went to dinner that evening came back and were having a small birthday celebration with our friends and a total of 5 children ages 10-8 months. We were told there was a medical emergency and need to move to the restaurant. Ok we understand and we moved to the restaurant in the lobby. A few minutes later they again told us a medical emergency and we need to go out side on the small patio. That fine and I understood. 20-30 minutes later we were told to move away from the doors and windows due to medical emergency. We also did that, at this point the older kids are getting upset and asking a lot of questions. We noticed several cops moving quickly to the elevator. We were asked to not look through the windows. Someone outside told us there was a death in the hotel. It was said loud enough for the older kids to hear this and they were extremely upset to the point of crying. A “security” person came out and told us (loud enough for the kids to hear as we were on the small patio) there was a death in the 3rd floor (where we were staying). The body was found and it was, “ as blue as a blueberry” with a smirk. I requested that I can get my stuff out of the room to leave. The kids are crying and upset as was my wife. I was escorted to the room collected our things and moved to another hotel. I called the next morning to ask about a refund and was told I would have to call back later. I called later and they said they would not charge us for the following night and they would call me tomorrow about the first night of which we did not stay due to the way the situation was handled and the event that happened a couple doors down from our room. I called the next day and was told the general manager would call me about this. The manager did not call, the assistant manager called a day later to tell me the general manager will give us a discount on the room but would not be refunded the whole room charge. She did say they learned from the event and will work to make things better next time this happens. The hotel was not clean and the room smelled very badly of smoke even though it was a non smoking room. The floors were dirty and the air condition was also really loud. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

|4.63km from city centerThis is probably the worst Marriott property I’ve stayed at. I’m a Titanium member and have already spent 30 days in other Marriotts this year alone. The front desk manager that checked me in was very nice, but it’s the property itself that needs serious work. This is probably the worst Marriott property I’ve stayed at. I’m a Titanium member and have already spent 30 days in other Marriotts this year alone. The front desk manager that checked me in was very nice, but it’s the property itself that needs serious work. The bathroom needs new hinges, tub, and in the least, a clean shower curtain. The one I had was very moldy. The door hinges were rusty, as was the coffee maker that completely leaked. I requested another coffee maker to which another front desk person said she would look for. I requested this Tuesday morning, and returned around 7-8 PM. No coffee maker in sight. I asked someone else who appears to assist with security or cleaning. He found a new one for me, but this should have been replaced long before. During check-in, I was told cleaning was every other day; and also what I selected using the Bonvoy app. Nobody ever came to clean the room. The location wasn’t great; at least not the view looking at an auto parts spot. Someone else I bumped into during my stay said he was looking for another location since he couldn’t imagine staying there for a month. I looked but the area had sold out of rooms. Otherwise, I really wanted to leave. There is a Springhill Suites close by that I stayed at the week before; it was so much better. I slept horribly throughout the week; the walls are thin, and you can hear every single kid running down the hallway, door knocking, door slamming. Also, it’s rare I come across hotels that have absolutely no USB outlets. The normal outlets are hit and miss as far as working. The AC unit is loud, and it’s either hot or cold, no good balance (it’s the old school unit near the floor; no wall control). Unless you are in desperate need of a place and all others are sold out, keep your expectations low. I feel bad for the employees as they appear to hold dual roles; the night manager never seemed to be at the desk, but i would always see her checking the floors. Another looked like she is also responsible for cleaning the lobby area. Perhaps this is why the room never got serviced. The 2 stars is only for the employees. |6.6km from city centerI have been a clerk at a Hotel at home, So, I have a different perspective than many. Expectations for most people, are they want a 4 star hotel, for the Motel 6 price. This Motel is an older one, well used, so it won't be new and shiny. I've slept in much worse, and I have stayed in a few better. The Breakfast was good, fresh, ample amounts of Scrambled eggs, Sausage, pretty good coffee, bagels, cereal, waffle makers and batter, fruit, and breads. Rooms are well used, but clean considering their usage. The Staff was nice to us, and it started with us being nice to them too. People respond to you in kind. Try it. We got a double queen room, it had a microwave, a fridge, a small single cup coffee maker, an ironing board and iron in the closet. a clean bathroom. It had a desk with a chair, a TV, a couch, and coffee table. the A/C worked well, we were cold, and slept well. No mattress is like mine at home, so I am never happy at any motel, ANY, but this one was okay, average for the price range I'd say. The pillows are the mushy kind, so take your own if you are like us, older, bad backs and necks, and want your home comforts away. The tub could use some anti slip stickers, but, it did have a safety bar to hang onto. All in all, it was a good experience. Take into consideration I am a Marine, and I can sleep anywhere, but do not mean that as a knock on them, just I am different than you. Not picky. There is a Flying J truck stop nearby and a Denny's and Wendy's all just around the corner. We were just visiting for a couple of days, from up state. I saw people with pets there. children, no issues or problems. A quiet stay. We'd stay there again.
