1.41km from The Trent Bridge InnI was looking for a hotel that was quite central and close to the train station; Bentinck Hotel ticked both the boxes - as I exited the train station I looked to the left and could see the hotel directly across the street! The hotel reception, bar and restaurant are on the first floor, and the rooms are on the other floors above. As previous reviews have stated, there is no lift, but unless you’re travelling with a ridiculous amount of luggage it really isn’t a problem. I arrived a couple of hours earlier than I anticipated, but because my room was ready I was allowed to check-in early. I was very impressed by how accommodating the staff were, and with how lovely my room was. It had a boutique feel to it, was very spacious, clean, and warm. My room was also en-suite, which was compact but more than adequate. Other reviewers have complained of street noise, but I can honestly say that I didn’t hear a thing. Maybe that was because I stayed midweek, and perhaps the area is nosier of a weekend, but I had no issues. A continental buffet style breakfast was included in the room rate, and there was more than enough. You can pay extra for a cooked breakfast if you wish. I didn’t eat in the restaurant (apart from breakfast) but I did have a drink there in the evening before heading out - prices were reasonable, drinks were really good, and again the service was great. Working in customer service I know how important great staff are, and the two team members I spoke with were exceptional. Thank you for making me feel so welcome, I really enjoyed my overnight stay at Bentinck Hotel and would most certainly book again.
