0.54km from The Wine ClubHands down the worst aspect of this hotel is the neighbourhood; it has a huge homeless population with very obvious drug abuse and mental health problems. If you are on foot you are dodging sketchy people and witnessing a lot of confronting stuff. I felt unsafe stepping outside and had I known how bad it was definitely would not have booked here. There is a locked gate to get into the hotel which you need to be buzzed into, and two locks on our bedroom door so once inside I did feel safer. Having said that there was no lock on the window. The street is INCREDIBLY noisy with people shouting and sirens nonstop, even with ear plugs or headphones in we did not sleep well. The facilities were ok, there was a combined shower/bath in our room, though the shower didn’t work (we were told someone would look at it but this didn’t happen in our three night stay). The room seemed freshly painted and the decor was fine, bed was big. We were given a towel each, no hand towels/bath mats etc. The staff were there 24/7 and pretty hit or miss, some were really nice and friendly and others super abrupt (and seemed to be on the phone constantly while we were trying to talk to them). Overall I would not recommend staying here.
