My friends and I decided to book this room after giving it some thought. We wanted to save some money on accommodation so we could properly enjoy the city. From the reviews on here and other sites, I was expecting much worse. The area is just fine during the day. Sure you see a lot of homeless people but you see them all around San Fran. It is an older hostel, but I noticed that some of the rooms are being renovated. It has no elevator so keep that in mind. The towels and sheets were clean, I didn't see any insect around the building and the bed was quite comfortable. As I said I was expecting a nightmare of a hostel but it was not bad after all. The owner is really friendly and helpful.

Stayed here after our flight was cancelled. The room for 1 night was expensive considering we booked so last minute and it is quite far away from where you want to be in San Francisco. The surrounding areas of the hotel (especially 7th street) is full of homeless people and drug dealers. It was quite scary walking back to the hotel at night. If only the hotel can be picked up and moved location because the hotel itself is nice. It’s very quirky and well decorated, iron board and iron in your room, big comfy bed, clean rooms, someone on reception 24/7 when we were there. Negatives to the hotel is there is no lift (and no rooms on the bottom floor) so you will have to carry your suitcases up the stairs which is minimum 2 flights to get to 1 floor. If stairs are an issue defintaley don’t stay here. The rooms are also noisy because of the activity outside. It’s about a 20/25 minute walk to union square but again because of the location it’s not a pleasant walk. The hotel itself I would give 4 stars if the location was better. Overall though I would not stay here again purely because of location and activity happening around the streets of the hotel. Also don’t see how they can justify the price for 1 nights stay.

Hands down the worst aspect of this hotel is the neighbourhood; it has a huge homeless population with very obvious drug abuse and mental health problems. If you are on foot you are dodging sketchy people and witnessing a lot of confronting stuff. I felt unsafe stepping outside and had I known how bad it was definitely would not have booked here. There is a locked gate to get into the hotel which you need to be buzzed into, and two locks on our bedroom door so once inside I did feel safer. Having said that there was no lock on the window. The street is INCREDIBLY noisy with people shouting and sirens nonstop, even with ear plugs or headphones in we did not sleep well. The facilities were ok, there was a combined shower/bath in our room, though the shower didn’t work (we were told someone would look at it but this didn’t happen in our three night stay). The room seemed freshly painted and the decor was fine, bed was big. We were given a towel each, no hand towels/bath mats etc. The staff were there 24/7 and pretty hit or miss, some were really nice and friendly and others super abrupt (and seemed to be on the phone constantly while we were trying to talk to them). Overall I would not recommend staying here.

Just in the city center, very close to the business district (Mexico, etc.) but surrounded by many tramps, try not to go out at night.

We stayed here at the beginning of February, just for 2 nights. The hotel has a secure buzz in/keycard entry front door. Lady on reception was very sweet and friendly and quickly checked us in. The room was a good size, with a large double bed, sink, wardrobe and ceiling fan. There was also a tv with cable so a great selection of things to watch. The toilet was at the end of the corridor, there was never a wait to use it. The showers were a little dated and could probably do with an update. There was a free breakfast area with tea, coffee and juice, and a selection of cereal, toast and waffles. Ok, so the hotel IS above a nightclub (but I did my research beforehand so I knew this), we were in the room directly above it. It was a little loud but the hotel are kind enough to provide earplugs and the noise died down around 1 - 1:30am so it wasn't a problem. I felt safe in the area and visited some local bars and restaurant without any bother. Would stay again!

1, the booking room is a bit early, one month in advance, the result is expensive, not including breakfast, the total price is not expensive; 2, the extra bed is not needed, the bed is very suitable for bringing children, the supplies are also very good; 3, the hotel location is very good, there is a lot of Chinese food next door across the street and The sea, the location should be very good, very prominent on this road, the parking lot is also very large, no car; 4? I don't know why the evaluation is not very good. To be honest, I feel pretty good. The lobby is also very large. There are orange slices and apples to enjoy. 5. There is a handsome guy at the door to help you, can help and be very enthusiastic. But my husband is worried about tipping, and I don't know how much to give, so all self-help 6. The only problem is that the bed is too soft, the pillow is too soft, and the backache is asleep. The air conditioner is not loud, and the air conditioner is open several times. And found that there is not. Maybe this is where everyone is not satisfied.

The male staff in the evening shift is very friendly, very patient, always smiling, and the service is very good! It rained outside and I also borrowed an umbrella for me. The room was great, my room was on the top floor, there was a balcony in the room and the bed was very comfortable! The location is very good, just in the city center, to various attractions, shopping and shopping, the surrounding restaurants are very convenient, it should be the best hotel I have ever stayed on this trip! If you have the chance to go to Berlin again, you have to choose this hotel!

The location is very convenient. You can walk to Chinatown, Jiuquhua Street and Fisherman's Wharf. Although the hotel's breakfast is 25% off, the price is more expensive than the restaurant outside. When I checked out, there was a restaurant that was n’t the one I ordered and it was taken to my bill. Remember to check the bill when you check out, and after swiping the card, I do n’t know whether the hotel has successfully refunded.

We had a lovely stay at the Embassy hotel. The room was spacious, the beds comfortable, the bathroom looked a bit worn but still clean. It would be really nice if they could put a small kettle in the room, because the only way to get a cup of tea was to pour cold water in a paper cup, go to the second floor, and use their microwave to boil the water. Some people mentioned in their reviews that the area was unsafe because of the homeless people and drug addicts. While it is true that there are many homeless people in this area and we did see a few people shoot up in the middle of the street in bright daylight, we never felt unsafe. It was, perhaps, a bit surprising, but nevertheless safe.

Five hundred meters to the center of Union Square, there are many restaurants around, including Little Sheep. Clean, the lobby is quite warm, the breakfast is extremely simple, only coffee, tea, croissants, fruits, no juice eggs. There are red and white wine, cheese, coffee and tea from 5.30 to 6.30 in the afternoon. Other times need to boil water to find the front desk to ask, will pour you, but there is no smile, I feel unwilling. The cleaning aunts are very enthusiastic. They watch you go out with your luggage and help you press the elevator in advance (the elevator is super slow and it is convenient to take the stairs). I will talk to you when I wait for the elevator. The single queen room has no coffee machine, no kitchen, and a small refrigerator.
