Me and my girlfriend arrived on the 9th of January where we stayed till the 13 of January. We had the check-in done by Razvan at the Front Office. He is friendly and approachable, and he brings great value to the organization. We thank you very much. Another thing that we enjoyed is the helpfulness, and profesionalism of the House Keeping. Disliked · 1-st thing that clouded the experience was that the glass installed on the bathtub to prevent water from splashing all over is too short and the water pressure on the shower is very high. As a result, there was a flood every time we did a shower. 2- Me and my girlfriend wanted to have a glass of wine at the 11th floor wine bar in our last night in Bucharest. The person at the reception was called Radu i think (he has a tattoo on his wrist). I asked him if we need to make a reservation, or if he has a menu that we can check before. Instead of making a minimum of effort to do his job and be more friendly, he told me that he sees the waiter on the CCTV , and that we can ask him additional information. 3-We went to the 11th floor on the 12 of January at around 20.30 , picked up a table, and the waiter gave us the menus. Me and my girlfriend were looking at the selection of wines and the waiter started presenting the wines, STATING the fact that the wines are from Romanian vineyards and that, and i quote " these wines are all about quality not quantity, and that they adress to a special type of people" When i heard this, i saw black, but i didn't want to make a scandal with the waiter in front of my girlfriend, in my native language ( Romanian), since it was our last night in Bucharest and i didnt want to ruin our night. What type of people do those wines adress to, pal? Don't you think that if we can afford to stay at the hotel, we can afford to pay for the wine as well ? And another thing, i don't know where you worked before, but it is very unprofessional to say things like this to the clients, even if we were walk-ins. The hotel is basic as we would have expected given the money we paid but we found it more than adequate- rooms were clean , large and nicely decorated- very comfortable beds . Staff were helpful and pleasant. Bathroom was ok - plenty of hot water - reasonable shower pressure, towels changed every day - however very large bath for size of room . Have stayed here several times and never been disappointed. The hotel is ideally located in the city centre and within walking distance of most of the major sites. The reception staff were very helpful, polite and professional both on arrival and helping us throughout our stay. The room was clean and comfortable and well designed. The decor was relaxing. The room was quiet, even with the noise outside. Breakfast was good, although the coffee machine could have been better. There was a wide variety of choices from the buffet breakfast, and the buffet was kept well stocked. The staff were helpful and very polite. There were two points that stopped the hotel getting five stars. We arrived late in the evening. We had e-mailed the hotel to find out if we could get food at the hotel and received no response. The restaurant was closed on our arrival (9.30pm), but if the hotel had responded we could have been prepared. There are decent restaurants within easy walking distance, but that does not change the lack of communication from the hotel. The other point was the tea and coffee making facilities. No milk, one coffee, one tea and a lot of herbals, no sugars and no sweeteners. Getting re-stocked was challenging. Reception were helpful in getting coffee, but were unable to provide anything else. Two minor disappointments in an otherwise excellent hotel.

I have no experience of other hotels in Bucharest but have traveled a lot in UK and USA and I must say that the hotel itself (lobby, rooms etc) have high class. The feel is Almost as good as Hyatt or downtown Sheratons in US cities. We had different receptionist during our stay and I would rate them between 2-4. We had one dinner which, consider the price, was affordable and ok. We had breakfast twice which also was ok but considering local prices a bit expensive (10 Euros/person). A traditional breakfast is hard to come over in the neighborhood so you might consider hotel breakfast after all. The one thing that almost made me lower the grade was cleaning. When we arrived and during our stay it was dust on the desk and in the toilet. The toilet sink was jammed and water was running out very slowly. We could notice the reception about this but didn’t. But, these things should be obvious for a hotel like Capital.

We arrived at the hotel at midnight due to our delayed flight. Our room was so hot it was impossible to sleep so we had to change at 0430 in the morning. Not ideal when you have booked a morning tour. The chap on receptions was incredibly nice and did his best to rectify the situation. The following evening we arrived back at the hotel after a long day sight seeing. We decided to have a beer in the hotel bar. As we entered, I was putting my face mask on only to be met buy an extremely rude, sullen barman who said ‘it’s a bit late now, you should have put your mask on before entering the hotel’. True but very rude so we decided to skip the drink. When I complained at reception I was told the barman had refused to serve me as we refused to wear a mask which was a blatant lie! Checking out the night before we wanted to pay cash to get rid of our excess Lei. The chap on reception said he had no change so we said we would pay in the morning. The following morning we encountered the same chap who still had no change. I suggested a solution and was met by a giant sigh and the comment ‘I’m too tired for this’. The breakfast was fresh but somewhat frugal and lacking in variety. The restaurant staff were extreme nice and helpful. Overall I would say the service was very disappointing, it’s a five star building with a 3 star mentality. Bucharest is an amazing city with great restaurants and bars, sadly I would give this hotel a miss as they really aren’t very service orientated. If you read my other reviews you will see they are generally very flattering but on this occasion I am struggling!

This one falls on the low-end of 4-star hotels. It generally feels like a shabby apart-hotel with some facilities on the ground floor (like an incredibly small restaurant - however suited for the basic and bland breakfast served here and a desolating bar). Rooms are incredibly spacious, but they don't feel welcoming nor cosy: no slippers, just a single set of towels or pillows in a single-use double room, no brochures about anything, no price-list for minibar items (should I take them for a complimentary drinks and snacks?) - not even a contact number for the reception desk, in case of emergency. When checking out, I found out that there's no luggage room apparently - and getting a registration number for your luggage is out of question. The price at the reception desk for a single room is 100 EUR/night - other hotels offer a real treat for this money. This is not the case, unfortunately. If you need a quick touch-and-go, it works. But if you want value for money - definitely no.

I got there after making my reservation on Booking.com. They told me they couldn't find the reservation but still gave me a room and emitted an invoice for the money I paid online. The second day, when I thought everything was fine, while I was in an important meeting I got a call from them telling me that I hadn't payed my stay and that I needed to urgently come there and pay AGAIN for my stay. I sent them payment confirmations from Booking.com, tried to explain that I've already payed but they wouldn't listen. I had to leave a very important business meeting in order to come settle this. When I arrived there, they told me everything was okay, they had some problems with their systemand barely got to appologizing after doing everything in their power to get more money out of me, except calling and resolving their reservation system. In the second night, i noticed that they went through my luggage and packed everythibg without my consent. This is a grave invasion of privacy. This is unacceptable, this is the worst customer service I've experienced in quite a while, and that's saying a lot for a romanian. Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

Overall, this is a solid hotel. The air conditioning worked well, but was a bit noisy. The WiFi worked well when it worked. It went down several times. Once, I called reception about it, and the lady said she would have maintenance check on it. Within 5 minutes, the man was there, and he fixed it instantly. So that was very good service. Good hot water; a nice shower. The breakfast had a wide variety, but it was not visually attractive, nor was it very tasty. I must commend Laurentiu, at the front desk. He was extremely helpful, and most gracious. He is a great asset to the hotel. Overall, I would recommend this property, but the breakfast was disappointing.

We have just returned from Bucharest. I recommend this Hotel as the best I have been. Very clean, the room was spacious, with minimal decoration and the most comfortable bed. It was so hard for us to get up!!! But we did because they offered us delicious capuccinos in the morning in an amazing breakfast area. Unlikely the bathroom had no heat but we didn't mind. The hotel is located into the heart of Bucharest but it wasn't noisy at all. The only negative I can find is that I would like the bedsheets to be changed more often. If I visit Bucharest in the future I will stay again in Filitti.

We had a family event organised there and all went great. It was during the pandemic and one of the main reasons we chose Marshal Garden, is the fact that they are very strict in respecting all the legal safety requirements. It is all very clean and even the most risk adverse guests told us they felt very safe. We appreciated that the offer included all we needed, from welcome drinks to the tasty cake, outsourced to Armand confectionery. The fruit bar was a surprise, as we did not expect it to have such a lovely design, with sculpted melons. Also, it was great that it included forest fruits. They were much appreciated! Should you organize a wedding there, you must know that having 2 rooms included in the offer is a huge plus. It makes everything much more easier. Last but not least, we appreciated their flexibility in offering solutions to various requirements we had and also in solving certain administrative aspects that arised. All in all, I recommend this hotel.

We stayed for three nights 17th-20th March. This was unfortunately at the height of the Coronavirus pandemic in Romania and across the world. Obviously this meant that circumstances weren’t quite ‘normal’. Despite this, the hotel staff were really accommodating and calm. We were sadly informed by the British Embassy on our first day that we should self-isolate so we naturally spent a lot of time in the hotel. Despite the lack of guests and the closure of some facilities such as the spa, the hotel did their best to make our stay feel as normal as possible e.g. putting on breakfast and delivering this to our room and allowing us to check out later without charge as we had an evening flight. The room we stayed in was very spacious and had an amazing view of the city. We will be returning to Bucharest once the Coronavirus travel ban is over and we have said that we will stay at the Orhideea Residence and Spa again.

We came from Malta and had a lovely two night stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel is gorgeous and beautifully maintained. The restaurant and wine list are fantastic. All of the staff were genuinely friendly which made our stay a delight. Costi is a huge asset to Hotel Epoque. In addition to his warmth, he turned me on to the Carastelec Carassia Blanc de Blancs and the Davino Purpura Valahica Feteascà Neagrà. It was truly a pleasure to see him each day. Prior to our arrrival Razvan was very helpful in ensuring we had the room best suited to our stay. My husband snores like a fiend, so we chose an Executive Suite with sofa bed. There is an actual wall and door in between the bedroom and living room so I had an escape pod during our romantic getaway. :-D Florin, at Reception, was fabulous regarding our questions about both the Romanian Athenaeum and our post-Bucharest train travel plans. Catalin is a joy at breakfast, professional and always smiling. Again, the entire Hotel Epoque team was tremendous. We can’t wait to return to Hotel Epoque, thank you!

This was the third time i stayed in this hotel, but it will be the last time. It is a new, nice and clean hotel, but with very strange people. Full of **********s, extremely noisy. You can hear as they negociate their fee and everything from the other room. Nobody cares about who is coming into the hotel during the night. Most of the hotels have a system in the elevator, so persons who are not guests of the hotel cant go up. In this hotel it is not the case. So, it is perfectly usual to be waken up in the middle of the night by a young girl trying to find the room of her client. When you tell the reception desk the problem, they will tell you that they now the situation, but they cant help( only to change your room). I wrote emails to the managment. Nobody seemed to care too much. Maybe this is the way they atract new clients in their hotel. The morning after, at the breakfast, there were about 8-10 extremely strange men, who were speaking extremely loudly asking the waiter to bring them something else from kitchen, maybe they were too special to eat like everybody else from there. It is strange the waiter was so nice to them, taking in consideration that every time when i asked for a real esspreso at breakfast (which i wanted to pay), i was refused by the waiter. So, it is pitty because it is a new and nice place, but you wont fell too safe when you see an old man getting in his room with 2 girls that could be their grandaughters. And everybody is acting like this is normal. It is not. At least, in my oppinion.
