We stayed here for 5 nights towards the end of a 3 month trip to various countries in SE Asia. It’s a lovely hotel and the room we had was very spacious, nice sitting area with a sofa and extremely clean. The hotel is ideally situated for restaurants and some of the main Wats etc. The staff were very helpful, efficient and friendly. Breakfast, served in the hotel’s cafe downstairs was great with about 7 various sets to choose from, excellent coffee and lovely bread. We also ate lunch at the cafe twice and the food was really good - fruit shakes are delicious - and extremely reasonably priced. 3 days in Vientiane would have sufficed but having such a lovely hotel helped. Highly recommend. Be aware there’s no lift and quite a few flights of stairs to get to bedrooms. It didn’t bother us but may be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues.

On the upside, the room is clean and comfortable with a lovely little balcony. It's strategically located a few minutes from the night market, and there are many restaurants and cafes. The hotel said they provide laundry service on the website, but when I asked them about it, they just gave me directions to the laundromat. Not a major problem. If you want to relax, there are a few massage parlors behind the hotel, along with some lovely shops if you wish to shop for souvenirs. On the downside, the staff is helpful to a certain degree, but not friendly. I may be comparing since the hotel I stayed in back in Luang Prabang had an incredibly enthusiastic staff, but for some reason, the staff here aren't keen on interacting with the guests. One such example would be they gave me the wrong key to my room when I first arrived. When I showed them the problem, they seemed annoyed, like it's my fault that I got the wrong key. The rest of my stay was incident-free, so perhaps it was a miscommunication or something. However, there's room for improvement in their service quality. Also, their breakfast menu could use a makeover, as there aren't a lot of options. I had it once and ended up going elsewhere for breakfast/brunch. In terms of safety, this hotel is located in a good neighborhood. Do make sure you check your door as it might not close properly (I know mine didn't). The first time it happened, I didn't realize it until five minutes later, and anyone could have just push open the door and walk right into my room during that time. Pretty scary, especially since I was traveling solo. For a budget hotel, VKS is a pretty good option, but I'd probably opt for another hotel the next time I visit Laos.

I had mixed reservations about this place due to the reviews but many other hostels in Vientiane had reviews where guests had had things stolen whereas this one did not. However, I had only minor problems with the place and, as I didn’t really leave due to arriving late in the day on a bus from Vang Vieng, it wasn’t too bad. The few problems I had were: - the metal lockers under the beds. Even when padlocking them shut, the doors can be pulled open just enough to slip an arm in. Plus, if someone were to pull the bunk bed away from the wall, they could access the locker through the back as it wasn’t covered. It still gets five stars as even though the lockers were inadequate it didn’t affect me. Had I paid more money, I would have expected better.

I live in a river-view double room. You can see the sunrise and sunset of the Mekong River during the day, especially the sunset. It is beautiful. At night you can see the bright lights of the market by the Mekong River. There is a small refrigerator in the room, which is frozen with drinks and beer. I want to drink it myself and check it out when I check out. It is very convenient and I feel very good!

This hostel is right in the middle of the action. Temples abound around the property, with one right in front of it. Restaurants, bars, spas are just everywhere nearby. The famed Mekong River as well as the night market are both just less than 5 minute walk. Location-wise, this is excellent. Check-in process was seamless, staff are courteous and very helpful to assist. The place is relatively clean, and can see staff cleaning rooms as well as toilets on daily basis. Surprised to see the improvements made by the management of this hostel. The beds have been replaced with new ones since the last time I was here (summer 2018). Was told by the owner that this was in response to all the feedback he got for his hostel. I sincerely believe he and his staff are doing all things possible to make this as homey as possible for all travelers. Over-all, you get your money's worth. Will keep coming back here whenever I am in Vientiane.

The hotel is not flexible. we arrived around 11:00hrs to the hotel (of course we understand check-in is at 14:00hrs) we had to wait until exactly 14:00hrs to get the room and hotel does not wanna make it even 5 minutes earlier. Laundry service is really expensive (1kg = $8) and it doesn't even worth it. I guess they only put them in to water and dry. No any good smell at all. The rooms are in 3rd and 4th floors and there are no elevator. Its a good thing the rooms are nice and bed is really comfortable. hot water , A/C and WiFi works very fine. Hotel provides tea, coffee in the lobby at anytime for free of charge. It was a pleasant stay. but we felt it would been much better.

look if there was a rating of 3.5 that's what I would have given this hotel. Lets look at the highs. The room was great we had the Aaron Suite, it was clean, comfortable and quite big. The location is great, there are some great eating areas and a good Par 5 to see the Mekong River. The staff were very helpful but strangely all some of the service staff were the security people but they were very obliging. The Lows. Well we ordered a car pick up through the hotel but they never showed up so we got a taxi. The breakfast is a little bit ordinary but the one thing that got to me was a "Tea bag". Now it might sound strange but when you go to most Hotels they replace the tea bags, so after running out I managed to find one of the Room staff and asked for tea bag, her reply was that they didn't have any, only coffee, no big deal so I had a coffee instead. This was not budget accommodation, in fact it is great value for the money, so if you can put up with the little things that can be fixed then I highly recommend the Aaron as a place to stay.

Stayed here for 6 days. My double room was large with a wardrobe, dressing table, chairs, fridge... Pls note that there is no elevator here - based on my observation, staff may or may not offer to help with your luggage. When I checked in, the female staff did not show me to my room or offer to help with luggage but few days later when a Caucasian couple with 2 large luggage came, she offered help and walked them to their room. The room seemed clean but the floor was dusty - my feet were black from walking around after a while. Wifi is great and AC works fine too. There is free breakfast - mainly porridge with some meat (pork?), some buns and fruit with coffee, juice. Simple and functional. What is great: large rooms, large bed, great location near shops, night market and restaurants. Not so great: no lift, limited breakfast variety, stingy on toilet paper, construction works nearby One highlight was the really sweet staff - they try their best to get you what you need (my room had a wardrobe but no hangers) and are always smiling and considerate. Would recommend if you are ok with climbing stairs and have small luggage.

In the quiet alley, there is a night market stall to sell at the end of the lane (the kind that the locals eat). Not far from the restaurant on the street. Walk to the museum for about ten minutes. The room is small and the sanitation is OK. There is a small swimming pool on the 2nd floor. The pool is too small to have fun. The front desk can book a shuttle bus to Wanrong and a bus. Directly to the hotel to pick up, just a little more expensive than the travel agency on the street.

Overall good, recommended. advantage: 1. The room is large. Our room is more than 60 square meters. The room type is similar to the Chinese apartment. The style is Japanese-style simplicity. 2. Buffet breakfast is ok 3. Although the pool and gym are useless, they are very new and clean The spa on the 2nd and 2nd floors was done for two consecutive nights at reasonable prices 5. There is a Chinese manager at the front desk, especially Manager Wang, who is very attentive Disadvantages: About 4 kilometers from the city center, local transportation is inconvenient, increasing the cost of taxi

Excellent! The clerk can speak English, the communication is basically barrier-free, and the clerk is very nice. Hotel health and facilities are very good, in a place like Vientiane, Laos, it is really great to have such a hotel! The king of cost performance! The staff at this hotel are super enthusiastic and super helpful! If there is any problem, they will help me solve it! I booked six nights through Ctrip, but then I planned to stay in the hotel for two nights! Called Ctrip to help me cancel the next four days but Ctrip failed to cancel. I went to the hotel and told the front desk that I wanted to drink for two days and stayed at the hotel for 6 nights. Then they tried to help me contact Ctrip and their hotel for two days Manager, and later they successfully cancelled the last four nights, and the money was returned to me! The hotel is very good overall. On the mountainside, the rooms are arranged along the hillside, the scenery is very good, and the whole city can be seen. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The hotel is far away from the city center, but there is a free shuttle bus, which is basically an hour away, and it is very convenient! The only drawback is that the pressure of the bathroom bath water fluctuates too much this time. It will be hot for a while and cold, and it will fluctuate every few seconds. I do n’t know if there is a problem with the equipment. I hope to improve it.

It is said to be the best hotel in Vientiane. The hotel grade and room facilities are equivalent to the level of three or four-star hotels in the big county towns in China, matching the economic situation of Laos. The hotel facilities are a bit old, and the exposed wires in the room are damaged and visible. Breakfast is still okay, if you expect the level of domestic five-star hotels is not comparable, the front desk can only say a small amount of Chinese, communication is a little hard, taxi is very inconvenient to let the hotel call high-priced taxis, basically no Cruise taxis can be played, and there are often toot tricycles at the entrance of the hotel. There are many temples within 1 km of the surrounding area, and it is convenient to walk.

Unfortunately, we ended up here because the nearby hotel we booked ended up being overbooked and I was tired and didn't want to search much longer to find a suitable alternative after a long travel day. So, I didn't do my usual research and just settled here. Let me start with a few positives. 1. If you don't care about having Wi-Fi in your room, then this might be a decent budget option. 2. The staff are super friendly. The daytime staff speaks better English than the nighttime staff. 3. Location - centrally located with access to many good attractions & food options, including several outdoor food courts like Cowboy Park. 4. Incredibly hot shower. One of the best I've experienced in SE Asia. And now to the negatives: 1. No Wi-Fi in our room. It shows that there's a connection, but it doesn't really work. And we stayed on the second floor in the room closest to the lobby. So, if you need Wi-Fi, like we did to research our next locations, then you need to go to the lobby. At night, the lobby is full of mosquitos so I kept getting bitten while sitting in the lobby trying to research for our travels. 2. Yes, there's a mild stench near the bathroom of our room. It was tolerable, but every time we walked inside our room, you can smell the odor. 3. There's a TV in the room that doesn't work. No big deal since we're not visiting Laos to watch TV. 4. Bed is hard. Anyway, the only reason to stay at this hotel is if your #1 priority is a hot shower, good location, and you don't need Wi-Fi in your room. There are plenty of other options to consider before you end up here.

Stayed here in late November of 2019. Came in on a late flight in Vientiane, booked hotel room through Agoda. Walked to hotel, which is set back a ways from main road. I didn't feel unsafe but, of course, was hyper vigilante. Reservation was received and accepted by proprietor. Was given room right by the entrance. Large bed, though a little hard for someone from the US. Fridge in room. Clean and comfortable. WiFi worked great. No breakfast. In the mornings, you can hear workers talking and walking back and forth as they turn over the rooms for the day. Shower took a tad bit to warm up. My biggest critique of this hotel has to be the glass ceramic tiles used in the bathrooms. When wet, it is extremely slippery, which shouldn't pose a threat if you brought your shower shoes, but I didn't. Furthermore, the danger in the bathroom is exacerbated by the sharp corners of the sink--I mean they are sharp corners! I made certain every time my spouse entered the bathroom to mind the wetness and sharp corners of the sink. Also, the toilet is a bit too close to the wall for my comfort.

Having spent 6 days walking the sites of Loas, I determined that I would stay somewhere affordable with a pool, and this place seemed to fit the bill. And indeed it has a good new pool, and is easy on the wallet. When I arrived there, after a long journey and no breakfast I was tired, hungry and thirsty. I asked if they served food. No. Beer? No. Soft drink? No. Snacks, no. All of which was very frustrating as the owners family were all sitting down to lunch in the hotel reception, and as I passed the kitchen, there was still cooking food !!.They spoke very little English, so I was pointed down the road. Found a place not too far away that served crisps and beer so brought some back to eat by the pool. Then I discovered that the only options to sit on are hard stone or metal stools or seats. No loungers to lie back and relax on. Criminal mistake ! It's a good 25 minute walk into town, down dusty, hot side streets, but I knew the distance from the booking page, and it's reflected in the price. The wifi is not great, but that might be a limitation of the national infrastructure rather than the hotel. The rooms are tired, outdated and basic, but again, that's reflected in the price. The A/c worked. The shower worked and the bed was firm and comfortable. I would have given the place 5 stars for value, but unfortunately have to downgrade that because of the lack of facilities, and the lack of business acumen. My recommendation to the hotel: Put loungers by the pool. Otherwise you're wasting a great asset. Stock a fridge with drinks for your guests. Enhance your service and make a profit! Stock some simple, non perishable snacks, like pot noodle or crisps (chips) , tea, coffee etc. Again, improve your service offering and make a profit ! Move the tall plants which obstruct the pool view from the ground floor cabins and seating area. Move them to cover the ugly, bare wall which divides the property from the next door building. Empty more often, and place more discretely, the ugly waste bins which sit right beside the pool side stone seats. Print a little information sheet for your guests. You're in the middle of nowhere, so guests would benefit from a local map of food shops, eateries, tuk-tuk services etc. make the "hotel" reception area look more like an hotel, rather than a living space for your family to congregate, eat, and sleep in.

Booked on Agoda, no problem. Circumstances dictated we stay a night earlier than our booking, I e-mailed them, and change to a day earlier, no problem. This was only 3 days before our scheduled stay. 10/10 Tuk tuk found hotel, and as per many buildings in Asia, it is very narrow, deep on the block, and 5 storeys high. We had rooms 402 & 501, and as per previous review, only stairs. No big deal. Great cardio vascular workout. Grand ma and kids got 501, A’s it is huge, and has the only private balcony of any rooms, right at the top/front of the hotel, with a stunning view of the city. Good clean rooms, Lao basic, combined shower/wet rooms. Complimentary water. Our room had no fridge, no big deal. Staff very friendly, breakfast basic Lao/Falang , but good. Location excellent, close to many street noodle shops, and bars. Local convenience shop next door, with everything you may need. Will stay here again.

It’s quite an acceptable hotel. About 20 minute drive from the international airport. Pros: - Price is reasonable - 10 minutes walk to the embassy (great for visa runs) - I had to photocopy some documents and they did it for me at the lobby for free - Convenient stores and restaurants were accessible - Staff were good. They werent rude and when I tried to pay for an extra half day they tried their best to stay patient with me even though I was struggling to communicate with them due to currency exchange rates & language barriers - The rooms were decent. It seemed old but still good - Breakfast buffet was good. Had a selection of asian foods, Korean side dishes, tea, coffee, cereal, etc. Cons: - Housekeeping just comes in the room without even knocking.. which is invasion of privacy (and was really annoying). We tried to tell them to come back some other time but they didn’t get it. Neither was there any signage to put in our front door to tell housekeeping that we want to makeup our room or “do not disturb.” - Toilet wasn’t entirely dry when I first checked in. It was wet like someone just finished cleaning - Upon entering the room it was pretty clear they just didn’t bother to clean everything. You could see some dirt in the minibar and some webs on top walls. I do have some suggestion to improve the service. At least put the list of mini bar prices. I didn’t know until check-out. I didn’t even know what number to call the room service until I randomly dialed “0” and magically went to the reception. Btw room service number is 202 and either no one picks up or when they do, they don’t understand english. Not recommended for leisure. Just a decent hotel for visa runs.
