|1.21km from city centerWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Turtle on the beach, the location is excellent, the resort is just a few mins walk away from the kovalam beach, if you have to go places there is ofcourse the hotel cab but there are also tons of cabs and autorickshaws available outside the gate, making your travel hassle free. The best part of the resort is the staff, they are super friendly and very hospitable and accommodating. We wanted to go to Varkala from the resort using public transport and the staff wrote down each and every step in detail from boarding a bus to a train where to get off etc etc, this was super useful as this by far was the fastest way to reach Varkala from Kovalam (even taxi’s will probably take double the time). They also readily accommodated our request for a late checkout, no questions asked! All in all a fantastic stay and special thanks to Rajesh, Srilakshmi, Shiju and Mary for the hospitality provided and making our stay super pleasant

The SPA is not per the expectation and the maintenance of the spa is very bad. Food is above average. The buffet breakfast is fine but lacks variety for those staying longer. Overall it was a good experience. The attender at the pool Mr. Babu is very good, he should be awarded for his fine service. Overall the hotel staff are polite and well ***nered and hear to our concerns.

|0.36km from city centerThis place was amazing!! We travelled to Trivandrum for a business conference and we researched for a quick getaway near by and we came across KTDC golden peak in Ponmudi. We were in touch with Prince shortly who recommended us a good room. We were blown away!!!! This room had the best view! We were so happy we got to stay here for 3 nights. Delicious food was available and the entire ktdc team felt like family in a short period of time!. We were a bit far from the city but we did not miss out on anything. Our driver Rajesh was arranged by Prince. Rajesh was so lovely! He gave us travelling tips and made sure we had good pictures and that we were comfortable at all times. We are already planning to go to KTDC golden peak again. Its so convenient to travel to from Maldives. And the cherry on top was the fact that Ponmudi hill was just 2ish kilometres away and we could visit anytime. But we ended up spending most of our time in front of our room cause the view was just breath taking. We were so happy up in the misty clouds! Thank you KTDC team. You are incredible

Having travelled to Kovalam for the third time now and stayed in other major 5* resorts in the area I can confidently say Niraamaya outshines all of them. Niraamaya’s boutique style makes it an intimate and tranquil setting that is not overrun with lots of guests making it perfect to relax and rejuvenate. Niraamaya is committed to each guests individuals experience and works hard to provide a personalised approach to the guest experience. They made an early check in possible for us so we could rest, moved our room to somewhere more accessible for my mother and went over and above throughout to make sure we were looked after in every was – especially at mealtimes. I have stayed at ***y hotels internationally and am yet to receive the welcome and kindness I have seen at Niraamaya. I would like to mention some of the individuals who went over and above to make our stay unforgettable. Jobin – professionally leading his team throughout checked on us daily. Shiva and Samson for looking after us at breakfast and dinner each evening respectively. The outstanding cooking from Chef Senthil – cooked us some of the best seafood I have tasted! Nothing is mass produced at Niraamaya – all meals are individually prepared, catered to your needs, with huge portions. |0.65km from city centerPlus: - Very Kerala property - lush greenery everywhere - welcome drinks, free lagoon boat rides, high tea by the sea - Staff were great - Siva at reception was very attentive (thanks Siva!). others did a good job of taking photos and helping us capture memories - We had 3 rooms: 1 Cottage, 1 Deluxe Seaview; 1 Deluxe Plunge Pool room. if you can splurge, go for the deluxe plunge pool it is worth it! the rooms are large, having a private pool gave the option to jump in and out multiple times without having to traverse the property Minus: - Furniture needs an upgrade - TV not working in one of the rooms - Not great for elderly people - while there are buggy rides to take you around, still there are steps to climb to the rooms and even for breakfast (the alternative being taking the service elevator in a longer route) - Breakfast options were okay comparatively limited to other Taj properties we have been to - filter coffee and tea stand was good but overall very poor service across all days we were there. maybe not enough staff.

Trump card, I guess, it's the environment surrounding the hotel is superb. The view from the balcony to the clear sky in Morning is so calm and peaceful. I did really enjoy. I would recommend others to try the same feel what I felt. Only thing disturb your peaceful atmosphere, is the airport nearby. But still, inside the room, haven't heard the flights passing by. We upgraded to Club Room, which provides you with access to The Cafe, a restaurant serving Club members complimentary breakfast 7-10:30am and High Tea 5-6pm and additional a La carts chargeable lunch and dinner. The Club room is exceptional, with a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the Arabian Sea, King bed with very comfortable mattress and bedding, fantastic walk in shower, sink and toilet, with all the toiletries. Rooms are cleaned well and the food is wonderful. We ate everything safely with no upset stomached here and the staff were wonderful! We would happily return!

While they handed us the room, they invited us to have a drink in the hotel restaurant, we asked if smoking was allowed and they told us there was no problem. Another English guest sitting at the other end of the restaurant got up and complained about the bad taste of the tobacco. A blonde lady (not Indian) came and asked us to go outside, later we discovered that she was the owner but she never introduced herself, she welcomed us, she never even said good morning and she was never interested in how the stay was. The rooms are nice and clean mini villas but the mattress is so hard that you prefer to sleep on the floor. The restaurant food is good, the restaurant service when they are not on the cell phone are friendly. It is close to the cliff but the roads to get there are very narrow and full of mud. They don't have lighting so you have to use your cell phone flashlight. The general space of the villas is nice but it lacks maintenance. There are ***y cheaper accommodation options on the cliff that I think may be a better option.

|0.87km from city centerWe had recently booked a 3 days and 3 nights stay at The residency towers Trivandrum. This was the second time we had booked at the residency towers, the first time was 5yrs back. The hotel is very cleanly maintained and the food is very good. Above all the staff is very helpful. During our stay, we had an unfortunate accident where my elderly mother fell from the bed and hit her head on the side table. The cut was deep and it was bleeding profusely. We called the reception for help and the ***ager (Mr. Vishnu) came promptly to our room with a first aid kit. He with the help of one of his colleagues suggested a good hospital nearby and we took our mother there. The ***ager was with us the entire time at the hospital and paid all the bills (which we reimbursed later that day ) and got all the prescribed medicines. He was with us until we got back to our room. It was impressive to see how quickly they acted, thought of a hospital with a CT scan facility (since it was a head injury) and took full control of the situation when we were all worried and caring for my mother. Even though it was our last night there, the ***ager was so kind and caring enough to give us an extra rollaway bed so that my mother could get some extra space and sleep peacefully without having to worry about slipping out of the bed again. These kind of services especially at a hard time truly says a lot about how much they care for their customers. We, the whole family, are truly thankful to the staff of The Residency towers, especially Mr. Vishnu. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a stay in Trivandrum.

Dirt is easily visible at various corners of the room. It seems as if no one ever pays attention to cleanliness of the rooms. Coming to the room service, it seems no training is provided to the staff! When ordering food for in-room dining, how can your staff bring the Roti or any Indian breads without it being wrapped in aluminum foil or in any container? They serve it without covering it with anything. I have never seen any hotel serve food like this. Coming to the swimming pool timing. The hotel has the worst timing for its swimming pool. One cannot swim after 6pm and before 11am. They expect people to swim when it is scorching hot. People visit resort for leisure, but they do not allow them because of some weird reasons. How do you expect small children to swim when it is so hot? Very disappointed. I raised the complaint to the front desk, but their response was rude and highly disappointing. Talking of the breakfast, it seems they are doing a favor to their clients by providing such kind of menu which has hardly anything to eat.

I asked for a veg burger for in-room dining to Lijo. Even on phone this guy was very polite, alert and energetic. The burger was really out of this world. Please try this Curried veg burger if you are here. Chef Rajneesh created this burger and he deserves my compliments.
For dinner we were well served by a very polite and young *** Jayakarthick. The restaurant ***ager Vignesh was taking rounds of tables and it was very nice of him to ask about our food experience. We had ordered Meen Mulkittathu ( fish curry ) with Appam. It was high spicy to our taste and we rate it as one of the best. It was made by chef Sanal who deserves our compliments. We ordered Elaneer Payasam as dessert which was also top class. I would also like to thank Chef ***n to carefully note our precise instructions on the food. Mr Sarvanan was also very attentive and took good care of us.
We were looked after so well by these gentlemen that it made our evening unforgettable. Thank you Hilton for suo-moto giving 10 per cent discount as Hilton Honors member.

The hotel is at a beautiful location, although a little farther, but away from the crowd and noise, at a peaceful place, a visually appealing huge property. The hospitality and demeanor, the behavior of staff is really great, they are very professional, humble and polite. The resort has multiple stay options, including cottages, cottage with a private pool and hotel like rooms too. The cottages look great, but since we wanted to book separate 2 rooms, online portals only provided options to book the Beach Cove side. We stayed for 3 days with a Senior Citizen and a 2 year old kid. Best part of the Stay - Food, Comfortable Rooms, Hospitality. Commute: Avoid the beach Cove side of properties, it is 3 floors below the ground level and very far from the main gate. You may have the partial beach view (can see it from 1KM), but the inconvenience and commute is not worth it. Only way to reach here is to walk and take an old lift. Which even though is good and always has a staff, inconvenient as the rest of the way is very hard to walk for a kid and senior citizen. They provide a van at times until the lift but you can be waiting a long time to get it or some times they can just say they don't have a van. Beach Access: The beach is quite far from the back gate and not as walkable as the reviews and descriptions make it seem. The back gate itself is far. Once you get out of the back gate need to walk far to get to the beach. No commute available and resort doesn't ***age anything to reach there. They expect people to walk. No empathy for senior citizen and kids. The gate access itself is limited till 6PM only, so if you are planning to watch the sunset at the beach, plan to come back walking 3-4KM to the main entrance from outside the property. It is difficult to find an Auto or other private vehicles too. Amenities: Kids play area, 2 pools, Trampoline, Good Restaurant, TravelDesk, Ayurveda therapy, consultation Food: Expensive! Low value for Money!! The Buffet is very costly and very repetitive and bare basic. For once or twice it is okay although you can't have this every day and night. No consistency, what you ordered and liked today, may be bad the next day. No empathy for special instructions like non spicy food etc. Desserts were good. Room service is terrible. The menu has very limited items, barely any options. They don't even provide plates, spoons and bowls and spoons enough to feed all the people. The Chapatis go hard as a Metal sheet in few minutes. Every order needs 2-3 follow ups to get it right. I posted this review although and the service difference on the last day was Humongous! Wish they could ***age crowd and pressure better. We had asked for some Food To Go on the last day, while they pleasantly arranged for the Lunch parcel, the packaging was terrible and the Khichdi spilled over the whole bag. And one group, about 7 or 8 of them, were in the room next to us. At night 11pm, they were making noise and talking loudly, which was a nuisance for us. We called the reception a couple of times requesting them to tell the students to keep quiet. But they did not do anything. The said they would talk to the teacher !!. Finally, we knocked on their door and requested them to be quiet. But they continued thei noise. And when they left well past night, they ran our room bell and went. Is it no the responsibility of the hotel staff to ensure customers maintain decorum? The rooms did not have a fan, only ac. And the ac temperature indication was so bright, that it lit up the whole room. Room service was pathetic. Whatever we asked from the menu, the response was a curt ‘no’. Housekeeping was ok. Lop cation is good, not crowded. There are veg only hotels nearby.
