The location is very good, it is recommended that the sea view room, the landscape is better, you can see the US military base in the distance, park the aircraft carrier, there are always black Hawk helicopters constantly rising and falling during the day!

The hotel is really good and the location is quite good. The grade is absolutely no problem, the landscape is quite good. More generally, the surrounding area is not convenient, there is no other surrounding, the landscape along the coastline, but since you have chosen this scenery, the surrounding is not good. It must be criticized that the reservation did not say that there is a need for RESORT FEE, nearly 40 dollars, parking for 36 dollars. This price is totally different. A little foolish feeling.

Come to San Diego quite often and always stay at downtown Hilton/Marriott properties but decided to give this property a try based upon all the 5-star reviews. And it did not disappoint on so many levels and is now my go-to location for the following reasons. To make this review short let me simply state all the 5-star reviews are absolutely true. Property: Staff is exceptional (thanks Tiffany for the upgrade and early check-in) and the rooms are extremely comfortable and well maintained to include the property. WIFI fast and ample parking to include great views of the water if your room faces that way. Location: Increases the charm of the hotel exponentially as the morning walks along the water and in/around Liberty Station are fantastic and somewhat therapeutic. Within a 10 to 15 min walk you have numerous places to grab a meal, drink or relaxing event. There are two full-up grocery stores (Vons & Trader Joes) that are a 9-min walk or two- minute ride for everything you need. Too many restaurants to choose from all within walking distance or a very quick ride -- from Stone Brewing to Mediterranean to the Public Market that has so many places to choose from. And also offers a great vibe to grab a meal, a beverage (beer, wine, soda) and then pick an outside seat to relax and enjoy. Vibe: If you want a place to relax from a day in/around San Diego and have lots of space to take a walk/enjoy the beauty of San Diego then pick this place. Every morning we went out for a walk, grabbed a Starbucks and then a little Yoga on the many grass and park areas. Then off to Public Market or another Restaurant for dinner and an evening walk -- away from the hustle & bustle of San Diego. Airport: 5-min Lyft ride from airport if all the lights are green -- 10 min ride from the rental car facility and parking is free on site. In fact if you are at the Public Market area of Liberty Station you can see the end of the runway. Finally from outstanding staff to facilities to location -- can see why the high rating by the reviews. I liken this hotel to being the ”Perfect Stay Trifecta” for the money spent. Will definitely be back.

I am a 30+ year IHG loyal traveler and have been at the Sire Elite level prior to COVID Pandemic. I have stayed at Holiday Inns properties around the world. My wife and I spent a week at the Bayside Holiday Inn, while visiting family on Point Loma, San Diego. We had a 4th floor suite looking down on the Point Loma Cafe and hotel pool, hot tub, putt-putt course, family game area. The hotel includes at least 3 different buildings: an old motel like building, an old hotel block and the newer hotel main building, that includes meeting rooms, lobby and hotel 4 floors of various type of rooms. Pro: The staff really tries to make your experience as enjoyable as they can. There are numerous family oriented facilities such as above mentioned features. There is a morning cafe for breakfast and a separate back bar for evening happy hour and dinner. There is a complementary airport shuttle. There is a for-fee onsite ample amount of parking. The suite we had included a sitting room with a refrigerator with a small freezer area and a microwave and sink. The location is right on the Point Loma pear with walking access to restaurants, marina services and Ralphs small grocery a few blocks away. The Liberty Station center of shops and offices is less than 1 mile walk away. Point Loma has a lot of culture and natural sites to experience. Some, like the Point Cabrillo National Park will require a car or Uber ride. Cons: The ”Bottle Shop” onsite store was closed through our whole stay. The hotel facilities, other than the lobby is aged. The beds in our suite had very worn mattresses, bathroom required some repair. The sofa bed smelled and the mattress/cushions were very worn and hurt to sit on. The room needed another lounge chair. The shuttle only was for airport transfer and would not provide transport to local areas such as Liberty Station. The listed available bicycles were not available ”due to covid”. The Point Loma Cafe and Bar had a very limited breakfast and dinner menu with mediocre tasting food. The wine list is limited but there are some interesting beer on tap offers. As stated in the beginning, it is the staff that makes staying at this property perhaps somewhat acceptable. Up to you, the traveler, to get a rate that makes the stay worth the value. I thought the rate was average for a suite at this level hotel in the San Diego area.

The hotel is not far from the aircraft carrier park, 15 minutes by car. On the edge of the hotel is a seaport where the yacht is moored. It is beautiful. Room facilities are better and newer, but there are mosquitoes. Parking is underground and free. The beaches of San Diego are beautiful and worth more than Santa Monica Beach. With time, San Diego is a place worth two days.

I rely on these reviews so so much so I wanted to make sure I left a very detailed review for all my fellow travelers! The Monsaraz exceeded my expectations. My number one priority when traveling is finding a clean hotel. I am an absolute germaphobe so I read every single review and if there is even one issue regarding cleanliness I cross it off the list. This hotel is immaculate. It definitely helps that it is a newer hotel but it was very clean (and housekeeping was so nice). I knew I did not want to be downtown because we would be driving to other places such as La Jolla and Torrey Pines. This was the perfect location for that. It also helped that there was street parking - super easy to come and go. We never had an issue finding a spot. The street was busy but we never heard any noise in our room. My kids were bummed that there wasn't a pool but we had a pretty busy itinerary so we probably wouldn't have had time for it anyway. The courtyards and outside decks were wonderful to spend time on. We did not eat anything at The Monsaraz however there are several great places in walking distance. For coffee, check out Better Buzz Coffee across the street. If you like donuts, check out Winchell's - they are delicious! My ONLY issue (more like my husbands issue) is that there is zero privacy when it comes to the bathroom. The doors slide together to shut however there is about an inch gap between them. The doors also have slats that you can see through. If you're one of those families that pees with the door open at home you will be just fine. My husband, however, super uncomfortable. Overall, we had an amazing stay. If we ever make our way back to SoCal we will definitely stay here again.

Booked an hour before I checked in on Priceline for just under $73 with tax (had a promo code for 12% off). I just wanted a clean place for 1 night to sleep to recover from an operation so wanted a place that was within 25 minutes due to traffic. My expectations were low. To my surprise, the place overall was great. I've stayed in 3 motels including this one during Covid, and I have to say they get an A++++ on how they are handling the pandemic. They give you a mini hand sanitizer at check in, and i the room everything is prewrapped (the remote, towels, soap/shampoo etc). They really went above and beyond compared to the other motels. I saw a review mentioned the grab and go breakfast. At least they are doing it. Two motels I stayed at still list having a continental breakfast however they aren't doing jack **** due to Covid (which is understandable since the travel industry is taking a huge loss so I get it). The Comfort Inn at least is giving you a little something so be grateful or give to a bum (lots of them here in California!). Front desk employee was sweet too. Using us Priceline folks get the worst rooms due to prepaying. She actually asked me what kind of a room I wanted (upstairs, downstairs, 1 bed, 2 bed etc). Due to it being near a busy street, I just said any quiet room, and that's exactly where I'm at right now. Walked around a bit for exercise and they have a cute little pool, and a patio on the 2nd floor that overlooks the boat dock. Wifi is strong, and the shower pressure was fine. Only reason 4 stars and not 5 is because the parking lot is really small and cramped. I have to leave very early in the AM when it will be dark out so I hope I have no difficulty getting out. Also when I went to the bathroom I found a couple hairs (hairs get to me...granted they didn't look like pubes). Would stay at again. Other motels walking distance including Ramada (stayed at the PL Ramada and had problems), Vagabond, and a couple smaller nonchain ones, but I liked the Comfort Inn. You got Humphrey's too of course but $$$. Lots of places to eat walking distance for all budgets as well as a Ralph's.

I spent 6 nights in this hotel because of a conference and I had not a single issue! I read online that the hotel is loud and the room is small but not in my experience! Probably the room is small for two people, but for one it was perfect. I really enjoyed the small desk+chair next to the window and the bed was so comfortable! The room was so quiet also, no noise from the first floor bar, no noise from the road (San Diego is known for its noisy trolley), I really spent a nice time. Everything in the room is really new and clean, but the only defect i found is the loud AC, but I never had to use it during the night so it wasn't a problem. Extra points for the big smart tv and fast internet. The restaurant/bar at the first floor is not too expensive, and when travelling alone it can be nice to see people at the bar, so you're never alone.

The main reason for staying at this hotel is to go to UCSD to participate in a camp tour. The hotel is located on a small slope. It took two turns to find it when I drove by. Off-street parking is free, and hotel parking is less than $ 20 a night. We chose to stop on the side of the road and it was safe. The hotel has an outdoor hot spring and swimming pool. There is a large supermarket less than 10 minutes walk and there are several restaurants over there. The hotel offers a microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine and drinking water. The coffee tastes great! Our room is arranged next to the door. Every time someone enters or exits, it will make a loud closing sound.

The hotel’s swimming pool and the jacuzzi next to the pool are great, and there is also a bar next to the pool. When the bonfire is lit in the evening, it feels particularly good. Very suitable for drinking and chatting ~ very comfortable. It’s not very hot in San Diego in August, especially at night. The swimming pool is still very cold, so it's good to go to the bubble bath and grill. The hotel is divided into west building and north building, with different scenery on both sides. Some rooms have bathtubs and some do not. There are shops like Starbucks downstairs. Very convenient for communication and travel~ I have stayed in other hotels in San Diego, I have only stayed in this one in the city, but I feel like I will stay here next time I travel.

The location is great, in the gaslamp quarter. About half an hour walk from the famous Balboa Park. It is not too far from the port of San Diego. Many bars and restaurants downstairs. Good is very convenient, and bad is very noisy at night. The choice for nightlife is right here. The music downstairs is a lot of Latin and there are street bands. Okay. The staff were very welcoming. Will organize a city tour. Breakfast is average, no milk. The decoration is very unique, the patio is very warm, but unfortunately there is no time to enjoy. Washing clothes one dollar at a time, drying one dollar. Would consider here if I return.

I stayed for one night, and the room gave one of the ground floor ones. The floor plan was the biggest one, but because of the ground floor, the backyard was covered with plants and I could not see the outer coast. The environment is very good, some people in air conditioning may feel a bit noisy. It is best to have a car nearby to eat, choose a lot of choices, do not eat the hotel restaurant, do not know how. It’s very appropriate to go out in the morning, it’s very safe, you can consider continuing to choose in the future.

No one at the front desk after 11 o'clock, remember to confirm with the hotel in advance. Breakfast is mainly bread and yoghurt. It ’s no problem to be full. The bathroom is super large. There is a separate kitchen in the dormitory room for many people. The stove is complete, which means less utensils. You can make the seafood you buy. Remember to buy the seasoning yourself. I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The afternoon/evening concierge, Reggie, was especially wonderful. He greeted everyone who walked in and made us feel very special. He is definitely the shining star of the hotel. The rooms were large, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The bathroom had humidity control, so the mirror never fogged up, and there was lots of counter space and places to put my belongings. The hot breakfast was awesome. They had hot cinnamon rolls, pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, turkey sausage, bagels, muffins, toast, 4 kinds of cereal, oatmeal, 3 fruit options, and yogurt. The decor of the hotel was modern and beautiful and everything was nice and clean. The elevator requires you to scan your room key, which is an added security feature I appreciated. I felt very safe staying alone at the hotel and it was a very nice experience. I will definitely stay here again.

This is a nice, clean hotel with a beautiful social area and pool in the center. The room was very nice and surprisingly quiet. The parking is cheap for the area at $12/day. The bed was even comfortable. I would give it 5 stars BUT the restaurant was closed, the parking lot is in rough shape and, at the time, there was no place to eat at within a few miles on a Sunday afternoon except McDonalds. To nitpick, the kid sized bathtub was unexpected, and a little strange. IF everything were to open back up in the area and they repaved the parking, it would be a nice resort in the northern San Diego area.

The hotel manager is quite rude! It is estimated that he discriminates against the country. I was maliciously opposed to me that morning because I complained to their hotel headquarters that the air conditioner was not muted and the carpet was cleaned. At the time I was working on the documents in the lobby, he asked me to go back to my room immediately! Later, two staff members told me with a tough attitude that they should find them. Not only will I not find them, I will complain to them at this headquarters!

Shout out to Drake and Corin. We were welcomed in as Titanium members. Our room wasn’t ready, and after a long day of travel at first it was a bummer but hey point us in the direction of coffee and we’ll be good! Drake directed us to Spill the Beans and said he would be in touch when the room was ready. Spill the Beans was awesome! And as promised not only did I receive a text message saying that our room was ready but he also called to let us know! By the time we got back to the hotel Corin was the new employee at the front desk and she was kind enough to include a buy one get one free offer for an alcohol beverage at the rooftop bar AND breakfast was included. WIN!!! Our room was clean upon arrival. The valet staff was nothing short of exceptional! The best part, was we had requested a 4pm check out as our flight doesn’t depart until 8pm, and Corin was very generous to oblige. Especially considering tomorrow in the Gas Lamp district will be very busy. It was extremely generous and we are beyond grateful for this extension of our room stay. Was truly a great stay for a Marriott property, we last stayed at the US Grant and well.. let’s just say the kindness was not as generous. Will definitely rebook at the Courtyard Marriott Gaslamp. Customer service 5 stars. Clean room 5 stars. Roof top bar 5 stars. Location 5 stars. Book your next stay here, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Our family spent three nights here in 3 rooms. Everything was first rate, I initially booked these rooms for the summer of 2020. We had to cancel our trip due to Covid and they were nice enough to refund our non-refundable deposits. That was a very pleasant surprise and I wanted to make sure we stayed here when we were able to make the trip this year. The hotel is much larger than I anticipated - it’s one of the larger hotels in the downtown area. It’s located in the Gas Lamp district and is very convenient to Petco Park. The common areas are very nice although the hallways are dated. The rooms were nice and about the size of an average Marriott or Hyatt room. Service was outstanding. Concierge, front desk and cleaning personnel were great. Our server @ Fifth & Rose (Isabella) was very friendly and helpful. They also responded quickly to my emails prior to our arrival. Overall, a great stay and highly recommended.
