Staff are very nice and the breakfast is amazing value. Very close to the station and metro so ideal if you want to travel the area as we did. Iseo on the lakes a great day out by train.

|2.92km from city centerLooking for a quick 1 night stay while travelling through Brescia, I chose the hotel thanks to its 4 star description. It is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel, 3 star at best in its heyday.. The room was pretty dark (not like in the publicity photo) and so couldn't really tell how clean it was. The booger complete with nose hair stuck on the wall above a bed is a good indicator though. There was a fairly musty smell to the room as if it hadn't been aired in ages. The whole room was very old, the newest thing was the paint job, everything else was from the 80's at least. We had a room facing the main road, and the flimsy windows couldn't block out the traffic noise during the night. The air conditioner was the type with a manual fan speed switch, which of course had the knob removed, so you couldn't regulate the fan speed, so if its stuck on max. u freeze. Bed comfort was ok (for a 3 star). Breakfast has 2 options - quick croissant, cappuccino, and juice, or full buffet. Unfortunately not much more offered at the buffet, only found bread, jams, cereal, and yogurt. No cold cuts or cheeses. I also chose the hotel because it advertised secure underground parking, but when I asked about it, I was told to park outside the front of the hotel..

|0.47km from city centerFabulous location, just off the main square and the bars/restaurants. Boats/ferry virtually on the doorstop, so never had to go too far if we didn't want to. Train station about 15 mins walk away, easier downhill, not so quick on the way up with bags!
For some reason I was expecting a smaller family run hotel. It seemed to be much bigger than I expected and that 'family feel' was lacking unfortunately. Majority of the time there was no one at reception and other than one staff member (or family) the rest seemed pretty uninterested. The hotel room was brown and although had 2 windows, looked onto the back of the building making the room felt quite dark. It was quiet though as long as the windows were closed and the room was clean.
A continental breakfast was included. We were there for a week and unfortunately after the first couple of days there was no fruit available and from day 3/4 most of the breakfast offerings were mostly gone at least half hour before breakfast ended, which led to a few disgruntled guests and a few leaving still hungry.
Other than breakfast, we did eat at the hotel a couple of times. The food was nice, though I felt a bit overpriced. Service was good on the first occasion but pretty indifferent on the second occasion. It felt like the owners' priority was on running the restaurants, which were busy, both at lunchtime and evening.
The hotel was very convenient but overpriced for what it offered...but then I guess we went peak time...! I don't think I would rebook the hotel if I was to go back to Desanzano.

|2.28km from city centerThe location is an easy solution to go downtown by public transport: the bus station (bus line n.10) is in front of the hotel and the underground station (Ospedale) is just a few minute walk. The room was comfortable and large, and so was the bathroom. Our room on the 4th floor had a screened terrace with private table and chairs, next to the swimming pool, open in summer only. The room was really quiet, no noise coming from the roads nearby. Breakfast was fine with a fair offer of sweets, cheese, eggs, charcuterie, juices and yogurt. No fresh fruit nor vegetables were available, we would have loved it. Finally, the hotel staff was kind and helpful.

Each staff member greeted us with a smile and engaged us in helpful and delightful conversations. The breakfast is, of course, amazing. I wish that I remembered the name of the lovely woman that oversaw the breakfast. She treated us like family, even introducing her daughter to us. One evening, they prepared a meal for our family. The food was outstanding as was the service. Eating on the patio, and watching the sunset over the lake was a dream come true. As we checked out, our host presented us with a small farewell gift. I don't usually tear up, but this gesture made me feel like I was saying goodbye to family.

But we come to the description of the hotel that we thought ordered very clean and furnished with the right sobriety in the details. The discreetly large room has all the comforts and everything works and ordered. The hotel has many beautiful places to stay and relax, from the Hall, to open-air lounges in the garden with fontanella, a comfortable tivu room and a great gym, pool and more. The beautiful room is the tables equipped with elegant and professionalism as well as the service and availability of staff and gentle owners. The hotel is located in front of the Aquaria term and 5 minutes walk from the Lido das Blondas and the Jamaica Beach. The possibility of walking between Sirmione's main attractions does not perceive the chaos and the high number of tourists who crowd the country's streets and beaches every day. Despite its central location, the structure is well soundproofed, the clean, modern and with all the necessary. The staff is very friendly and available.

The hotel’s interiors and grounds are both manicured and beautiful. Rooms are super clean and spacious (we stayed in junior suite with a lake front). Beds and pillows are very comfortable. The views of the Lake Garda are so therapeutic. They would nurture your soul, while the thermal water pool (temp. 27 C) would rejuvenate your body. Add a 7-day Spa treatment into the mix, as we did, and you would be one relaxed and happy person. Service is top-notch. Nothing is a problem or a bother for the hotel’s personnel. Gloria, Francesca, Sofia, Gerardo and Alessandro, to name but a few, would resolve any of your requests/concerns with a genuine appreciation that you are on vacation and there to relax. Speaking of relaxation - this is an adult-only hotel. Patrons are sophisticated, private and pleasant. In short, this hotel, its staff and their hospitality may “ruin” other hotels for you. |0.55km from city centerMy Husband and I have recently returned from our 3rd visit to the Hotel Piroscafo in Desenzano and, once again,everything was perfect. As on previous occasions we booked directly with the hotel via their website and were given a very warm welcome by the efficient and friendly staff. We had requested the same standard room on the top floor which had a balcony overlooking a courtyard and was very quiet. The breakfast buffet was delicious and catered for different nationalities with a good choice of cereals, cheeses, ham, eggs, various cakes and delicacies each day along with a wide range of fruit. It was lovely to be able to sit outside in the shade to eat breakfast as it was extremely hot during our visit. A lovely waitress would come to our table to take our drinks order and once she knew we liked a cappuccino she would remember this and say: ”Hello, Cappuccino”. There was always hand sanitizer available both in the restaurant and around the hotel. One of the best things about staying at the Hotel Piroscafo is it's wonderful position overlooking the Old Harbour and that it is so convenient for the restaurants and cafes with the ferry boats only two minutes round the corner. It is about a 15/20 minute walk to the train station so it is possible to visit places like Brescia, Verona and Peschiera by train for just a few Euros as train fares in Italy are cheap compared to the UK. I cannot think of anything else to add that hasn't already been said except that we very much hope to return for a 4th visit one day. Thank you to everyone at the Piroscafo.

|0.51km from city centerLess than 10 minutes from the station by taxi, the hotel is centrally located and right on the lakeside with great views from the pavement terrace. Staff were friendly, helpful and cheerful (our receptionist was particularly helpful but we did not get her name). All staff (and everyone else we met) made an effort to speak English if necessary). Our en-suite accommodation was simple but clean, comfortable and adequate with good ac. Breakfast was lovely, especially sitting on the terrace overlooking Lake Garda (although the coffee was not as good as elsewhere). Tea, aperitifs and drinks were very reasonably priced. Dinners were not an option (which is sensible considering the range of restaurants, cafes and enoteccas on the doorstep). Other guests moving about at night and in the morning were a bit noisy and the Lido cafe next door was the same but cannot be heard from rooms inside the hotel. From the Riviera it is a matter of minutes to all local amenities: restaurants, cafes, shops, cruise boats, cycle hire, castle, Roman villa, supermarkets, laundromat… For a three star hotel we highly recommend The Riviera Hotel and it’s lovely staff.

|1.48km from city centerMy daughter and I actually had a very nice stay at Lake Garda from 11-14 August at the Hotel Villa del Sogno. Everything in the hotel is excellent. The location, the service, the extremely friendly staff. However, I am only talking about actually because our stay there was negatively affected to the maximum by the laundry service and the subsequent drama! Unfortunately, I made the mistake of taking a newly purchased high-quality (＞ EUR 1,100 plus tailoring costs) light blue-coloured linen suit to the dry cleaners there and not checking the suit immediately after cleaning but simply packing it up and taking it home with me. The next time I tried it on after my holiday, I had a rude awakening: the suit had been washed too hot and was therefore ”destroyed” in terms of colour and size so that much smaller people could now wear it. The ongoing correspondence and clarification as to whether the hotel's own laundry or an external laundry was responsible for this has still not achieved a satisfactory result. Repeated reminders remained unanswered. Actually a very unpleasant development and experience with a hotel that actually has everything to make an unforgettable holiday on Lake Garda possible. Let's see when someone at the hotel gets their act together and takes responsibility and compensates for the damage.

The breakfasts were the same each day, but the buffet was extensive so there was something for everyone. There are bicycles available to hire from the hotel, however, they need a careful check-over before you use them - we had to 'reject' several before we found a couple we were happy to use. The location of Rivotella is quiet, with just a few places to eat; the main area of Desenzano is about 45minute walk along the promenade. Would happily return to this hotel.

Breakfast good. Bed good. No kettle/hot drinks in room? Asked for kettle but was refused. Bar area nice but under-used. Pool small but welcome. Roof has excellent terrace with great views, seating, sun beds and jacuzzi. As mentioned by others, the matriarch is ever present. She did not acknowledge us on any occasion - not even a smile, or a ‘Buongiorno’. Shouted a lot at her staff. This was not detrimental to our stay however, as the other staff were friendly. Strangely you have to ask for the air-con to be switched on in the room? The hotel was a good 20 minute walk downhill to the lake and 25 mins back. Only 5 min walk from station. Would stay again.

|0.49km from city centerI visited this hotel as part of a tour group. It was the end of season, and much of the area was closed. The owner would not open the pool, although some days were very warm. The food was quite good and the staff were lovely. However, despite the lovely view of the lake, the hotel needs total overhaul. The carpets were a bit grubby and threadbare, especially on the stairs, and I had a leaky shower, making a puddle on the floor daily. Some other members of the group had trouble with the showers too. One of my pillows was stained, but I had a spare, so used that one instead. Altogether a bit disappointing. Despite its 4-star rating on the gate, this is definitely more like 2-star.

|0.51km from city centerAbsolute 5 star review for this beautiful hotel. Very easy to get to, ample parking if driving in, and if coming on the train it is a simple 15 minute downhill straight walk. The hotel is beautiful, quirky yet classic, immaculately clean. Interesting artwork and ornaments on display, lots to look at! Reception staff are friendly, courteous and so pleasant, at all times! We stayed in room 102, it was warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Bathroom was well stocked with towels and toiletries. Mini bar was so cheap too!! Plenty of storage in our spacious room for luggage and clothes. Breakfast was amazing!!! One of the best breakfast experiences we have had on our travels, everything was beautifully fresh and well presented. Local area is lovely, plenty of shops and bars/restaurants within 10 mins. The harbour to catch the local ferries is across the road 2 minutes away. Park hotel, I would award 10 stars if I could, we enjoyed every minute and will return for sure! Grazie!

The customer service training was clearly embedded, even the cleaning staff said good morning. The outdoor pool area along with the views of the lake were fantastic. There was a lovely promenade walk at the back of the hotel by the lake, The food at breakfast was outstanding and the bar service was excellent too. A nice touch carrying our drinks to the room of an evening. Drinks costs more here than the local resturants Points to note: The hotel is a 50 min walk from the main town Desenzano. There is a clear path to follow The ferry timetables change in the winter and we didnt get to the north of the lake because of the time it would take on the ferry. The hotel offered one free shuttle bus service to town thereafter its 25 euros Download the Arriva bus time table, the buses are 95% reliable. Bus stops are outside the hotel and are only about 4 euros. Will need cash With hindsight we should of travelled around more and stayed in the nearby cities. From Desenzano station, Verona 30 mins, Venice 90 min, Milan 60 mins. Great Pizza place next to the hotel - Il Lido A n excellent location to see some of the best sights of Italy .

|1.31km from city centerWe booked directly through the hotel's website. When we arrived there, we were informed that the facility consists of two complexes. Once from the apartments/hotel rooms directly at the reception and across the street there is another apartment complex (also with a pool). Everything is clean from the outside. Then we got our apartment and were shocked. The apartment was totally shabby and dirty (shower head holder about to break and rusted, mold in the shower, dirty furniture, the sofa bed with a mattress about 5 cm thick and with steel springs in the back every night, etc.). Not even close to the 4 stars from the website, more like the 90s. When we reported this to the hotel owner, we learned that most of the apartments in the second complex do not belong to the hotel, but to private owners and are only available through the hotel. There was no mention of this when booking. So you can be surprised whether you get a clean, well-kept and modern apartment or not. However, the hotel owner also confirmed to us that only the photos of the hotel's nicer apartments are shown on the Internet. After we spoke to the hotel owner a second time and told him that we wouldn't have booked this apartment for half the price, he offered us a change of apartment for the last night; we couldn't do it earlier because nothing was available. He also offered to refund part of the price, but we are still waiting for that. Because the apartments in the second complex are mostly privately owned by Italians, they reserve the pool loungers with towels in the morning and you only have the choice of getting up early and making the reservation yourself or walking to the hotel and swimming at the pool . Although early is relative, the pool can unfortunately only be used from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The air conditioning also smelled, even after long periods of operation. The furniture and the whole room were dirty and there was no vacuum cleaner. There weren't enough cutlery and crockery, not even for 4 people. Mold in the coffee maker. Cleaning and towels were only changed once during a week's stay, and that only after 5 days. The staff was very friendly and polite! The place is relatively quiet and you can walk to the beach in 10 minutes. There's not much more going on there. We would choose a slightly busier location in the future.

Diner has only a few selection options, but very worthwhile. Communication with staff is everytime problematic allthough very nice people. Maybe the Italian way. Good free parking. The location is very strategic even if at first impression you think it is not. Plenty gas stations around the corner. The shopping mall own the road freccia Rossa this year was almost dead. Eat at hotel restaurant and don't try find better outside, waste of time. Especially the Elnos shopping center. Probably I return here every time.

|0.87km from city centerThree of us visited for a week in June. The rooms are very traditional, spotless and comfortable. Roberta, the owner can't do enough to help you even giving my sister mosquito repellent and antihistamine cream when her own repellent didn't work. The breakfasts are simple continental style but there were always boiled eggs, cheese and meats plus croissant and cake. There was also two types of cereal which included a tasty granola. The air conditioning takes a little while to make a difference from first switching it on but once it gets going it works very well. The rooms have electric shutters which are great at keeping the sun out and if you leave them shut with the air-con on while you are out, the room is wonderfully cool when you get back. The temperatures were reaching 35 degrees while we were there and it made walking around everywhere we visited quite uncomfortable so if you like to get around a lot come in early May although there are thunderstorms in the late afternoon/early evening in May but to be honest, we would have welcomed them. The villa is brilliantly situated for the centre of Desenzano just a short walk to the lake front for the ferries, shops, bars and restaurants. Roberta gave us a 10% off card for restaurant Agora and we went there three times as the food was good and the upstairs terrace has a good view. There is no pool at the villa and just a small pebble beach which is quite a walk so if you like sunbathing this may not be ideal. All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday and would heartily recommend Villa Desenzano.

Because his flight was one hour late, it wasn't time to check in by 23:00. We thought he lost the first night but for 4th floor he can stay at the hotel we paid. The result: the hotel cancelled every 5 nights (which were not refundable) without even warning us, knowing very well that we will lose almost €370. We don't talk about the fact that they didn't care about anything that their guest would stay without accommodation for all the days booked (and the room was still available next day on booking). The booking answered us that we should call the hotel and they can solve the problem but instead of helping us, they started insulting my husband. I was totally disturbed by their attitude and how they talked to the phone. The lady's word from the reception was ”NOT ROPS THE CARTONS”. Now you think if you want to enjoy the services from such a structure. It's not a hotel but a crazy house!

We were a little worried reading previous reviews about noise from a neighbouring petrol station but we didnt notice it at all even with our room facing in that direction. Couldn't even see it unless you went looking for it. Hotel was clean and staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty to eat and choose from. The lady running breakfast service was always helpful and making sure everything was topped up. Our room was above Breakfast room so i'd wake to the smell of fresh baked croissants every morning. We booked a family room which is actually 2 interconnected rooms which was fine for us as it gave us 2 bathrooms and a bit more space. Overall we found it a great spot to stay and good value for money

|0.43km from city centerWe weren’t bothered that the hotel was described as dated, having read other reviews, as often that has its own charm in Italian hotels. Unfortunately this hotel isn’t run by Italians so that’s where the charm vanishes. Run by some very rude and arrogant men it is strange and inhospitable. We definitely felt uncomfortable as two women friends. The breakfast buffet was poor with limited choice and they have a strange practice of leaving all the dirty crockery etc until the very end of the service period. So you sit surrounded by dirty plates on all the tables.
