|1.19km from city centerOur first visit to Bath and we found this B&B to be idealy located for walking into the City and all its attractions. The bedroom was comfortable with and very clean as was the bathroom facility. A fan was provided to make sleep more comfortable. In the morning we went down to the immaculate kitchen diner which was very homely and breakfast was cooked to order by our host Monika with many choices including salmon and scrambled egg or a very large full English. We couldn't fault the breakfast experience or the B&B and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone and at £130 for the room including breakfast it was excellent value. Thank you Monika.

|1.03km from city centerGreat location 5 min walk from Pulteney Bridge - lovely terrace overlooking the bowling green and cricket ground towards the Abbey. We had a room in one of the more recent additions to the Bird - whilst this was next to the Bar and terrace it was very quiet and extremely spacious. Fantastic spa bath and large separate shower. Not given 5 stars as the room, whilst really plush did not have a window with a view ( skylight with electric blind) and was quite warm. I’m not in favour of automatically air conditioning rooms, however, this room does need additional cooling. The Hotel are aware of the need for cooling and will no doubt address the issue. Would certainly not stop us booking again - special mention for Caroline and Howard - members of the team you should be proud of.

|0.82km from city centerWe stayed in a triple room and were delighted with the comfort and cleanliness. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing - 2 of us had the full English and 1 had avocado, smoked salmon and poached egg on toast. There was also a selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt, juices, pastries, coffee and tea. All delicious. The location is superb, being very central.

|1.55km from city centerWe booked directly, in January, with the hotel taking up an offer for our March stay. This is a 5 star hotel and we upgraded our room a few days before arrival. The room was lovely with a comfortable 4 poster bed and all facilities as expected. Breakfast was not as we had expected for a 5 star hotel. We had to choose a time to eat, did the earlier people have all the yoghurt? By the time (8.45) we arrived we were scraping the bottom of the deep jar and our cooked breakfast was a meagre portion. The potato cake was very thin, like cardboard, a single thin rasher of bacon and a slice of mushroom. Thank goodness I asked for a grilled tomato! We had to ask for toast that 1st morning. The coffee pot was barely enough for one, we had to ask for more! We had booked to eat in the Vellore Restaurant for my birthday but decided to cancel this, as seemed expensive and breakfast had put us off! So we chose to eat from the bar menu instead, taking the meal in the lounge. Unfortunately the room was pretty cold, we heard other guests complaining about this. Guests can ask for fresh milk to go with the complimentary tea and coffee, but be aware a tiny jug of milk is £6. However the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the hotel is well situated for the town.

|0.56km from city centerLast month we stayed in the Premier Inn 100 yds down the road from the Hampton and boy the hotels are like chalk and cheese with the Hampton winning hands down. Reception brighter with plenty of cheerful receptionists to check you in. Rooms are well laid out with everything you need including a safe, fridge, hair drier and iron. Lovely big walk in shower with plenty of toiletries to hand and lovely fluffy towels and believe it or not flannels. Two sets are laid out in the bathroom ready for use. We had a twin room and found the beds to be larger than an average single bed, very comfortable and lovely bed linen. The TV on the wall is huge with plenty of channels to keep you entertained. Wifi is free. As for the breakfast well we found plenty of choice - sausages, mushrooms, beans, hash browns and scrambled egg. There was toast, croissants and muffins, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheese and I also spied pots of Oats so Simple you could make up and a waffle maker which was very popular. Given that this was included in the price (unlike the competitor where you have to pay an additional £9.50 for breakfast) we found it was a good enough start to our day. Location is great with the only downside, as with most city hotels, there is no on site parking. Quids cheaper than the competitor when we booked what is not to like?

|3.13km from city centerCurrently driving home down the M4 after having no alternative but to check out early after only 1 night of our 2 night stay. To start off with, on our drive to the hotel we phoned up to double check what time reception was open until as we may be late due to traffic. My partner gave all the booking details to be told that they couldn’t find a booking for us, in the end my partner admittedly had to put the phone down as she was having to continuously repeat herself and which was causing her frustration and to panic a bit. Upon arrival my partner and I were pleasantly pleased with the look of the hotel from outside. Our minds were put at rest when we were checked in, no trouble finding our booking on arrival compared to when we phoned. We were then shown around the dining room and living room area which seemed rather dated yet comfortable. We were then taken down to our room downstairs from reception which was next to one other hotel room. This was then when I realised it wasn’t a 4 * standard room. Room very dated and musky smell, electrical wires exposed in the bathroom, see picture. Nonetheless we accepted it was clean and comfortable and make do with what he has got despite not meeting expectations. We spent one night which we would describe as reasonable even though our room was underneath the main entrance we could hear people walking in and out and also hear next door snoring through the non-sound proof walls. Next morning breakfast we would say was actually pretty good, compliments to the waitress who was serving on her own yet was polite and helpful. We then went into Bath for the day, when we arrived back in the afternoon to be greeted by several cars full of women on a hen party who had arrived to stay at the hotel. Whilst we had no problem with that the main room being used by the hens was the bedroom next door to us in the basement. We went into our room but all we could hear was loud music, laughing and joking from the next room through the non-sound proofed walls. We soon realised that we would probably get no sleep. My partner went to reception and asked if we can be moved to a different room, to be told no other rooms available and that the hen party was going out soon. My partner said yes they are going out but they will have to return at some point during the night. My partner then asked what would happen if we checked out early and she was advised that we would only get 50% back of remaining 1 night stay. Because of the loud noise coming from the room next door we then decided to check out and drive the 150 miles back home there and then.

Bath

Bath
|4.38km from city centerLet me tell you how awful this place is with four examples: 1. Breakfast - When the waiting staff tell you that the “Chef isn’t going to be happy” when you ask for some “poach eggs” having been invited to ask for eggs any way we wanted them, you know things aren’t going well. Especially when there’s also no butter, no milk and no hot water…at a breakfast service?? 2. Whilst 15-18 guests were sat watching the Queens funeral in quiet respect in the bar area, the door was swung open by a staff member called Karen (ironically) who stormed into the silence, walked over to a group of us, demanded we move out of her way so she could walk out of a fire exit to show guests to the garden area, despite there being about 3 alternative exits. Our jaws were on the floor with her audacity and attitude during everyone’s time of respect, this wasn’t the end of it either, the plot thickened. Karen then returned with the family, walking through us all again, making no attempt to be quiet or respectful during this time of silence, stood outside the room and then began “selling” the hotel to the guests for all to head. After one of us got up and asked her politely to take her conversation down the hall she got up close in one of the guests personal space and, making no apology, stated “THIS IS A PUBLIC HOTEL AND I WILL CONTINUE TO BRING MY CLIENTS THROUGH HERE”. I’ve never seen such a show of disrespect. Oh and then she came back in for a second time and did exactly the same again, just for good measure. 3. One of the deputy managers told one of our party to “stop speaking sir” whilst we were asking a question about food? He then proceeded the following day to say “send tips my way” if we were going to eat in the restaurant. This is the duty manager…asking for tips? I yet again had to drag my jaw back off the floor. 4. The rooms were comfortable but freezing, similar to the rest of the hotel, in fact when we asked if the fire could be put on in the bar it was like we’d asked for more poached eggs?! The staff member was not happy. Overall, beautiful building, cold staff (and rooms), and a events manager named Karen who clearly needs some lessons in grace and decorum, and maybe a demonstration in customer service because I can categorically say I will never be returning or recommending this hotel on the basis of her behaviour.

|0.99km from city centerI enjoyed a three night stay at this lovely hotel. Although I was traveling solo, I chose one the larger rooms. Beautifully furnished, exceptionally clean, comfortable, and spacious. I loved it here! I did not need a car. Everything I wanted to see in Bath was within easy walking distance to the Kennard. After a busy day of sightseeing, I appreciated the quiet location of the hotel. Breakfast was served in a pretty dining room. Graciously served, with delicious generous portions. There are several choices of cooked breakfasts, so you don't have to eat the same thing every day if you don't want to. Another feature I enjoyed during my stay was the little ”honesty bar”, where you can help yourself to a glass of wine, or a drink. Most of all, I was happy with the wonderful staff. Everyone I encountered during my stay was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Staying at the Kennard was the highlight of my visit to Bath, and I highly recommend this hotel.

Bath
|1.43km from city centerGreat hostel, lovely building, ensuite room. Easy walk into Bath. Good food, good wine, very well priced. Nice staff. Only downside is that we found the annex more than a little claustrophobic. You need an electronic card to exit the building from the top floor, their standard issue was one card per room of three people. So once one person leaves the building the other two are locked in the building, until the first person returns.

|0.41km from city centerThe location is good, too close to the train station, less than 5 minutes walk, right on the main street. The landlord guy is very handsome. The room we stayed in was better, with two beds, the room would be a bit smaller, but there was a wash basin in the room, and the bathroom was public, but it was relatively clean. It is close to the main street, but the windows have two floors, and the sound insulation is better, and the curtains are good for shading. Breakfast is included, and the boss can also fry eggs, bacon, and sausages, which is also free. It's very close to the city, and it's very convenient to walk to all the attractions. After all, Bath is not big. In peak season, housing prices are high, except for slightly higher prices.

|0.54km from city centerHave returned from a 1 night stay at Hotel Indigo, booked for us by a family member so had done little research on the hotel, we arrived to a really friendly reception and were shown to our room 531. We were so impressed with the room and facilities, the entire place was completely spotless, comfortable beds, ample space and storage options, excellent lighting. The shower was divine! Reception phoned us to check everything was ok shortly after check in which was a nice touch and booked us in for breakfast at the hotels restaurant (The Elder) for the next morning at a time that suited us. Food and drinks at the elder were fantastic although a little pricey but that’s to be expected in Bath, however we didn’t mind the price given the excellent service received. Very close to city centre and all tourist attractions and good options of restaurants and bars all within a short walking distance. I really feel like I need to stress just how clean this entire hotel was, literally spotless in the room and all communal areas, one of the best we have ever stayed in. Nothing was too much to ask, all staff we encountered were more than friendly and made us feel welcome. We would definitely return to this hotel if in Bath again. Fantastic service all round. Thank you

|1.35km from city centerI stayed in Bath for two days. It was a lovely city and it felt better to travel in the off-season. We stayed at the Chestnut Villa Hotel, which has a lovely little garden close to Henrietta Park. The hotel is located in the heart of the city but also very peaceful. The hotel is well equipped and attentive. I originally planned to give this hotel a good evaluation, and the quality service made me more impressed. You will find that their service is particularly in place and pays attention to details. For example, the staff prepared a mellow cup of tea for me at breakfast, which won my heart. This is the tip of the iceberg of the hotel's excellent service, and there are too many such intimate services.

|0.97km from city centerThe hotel service is first-rate, the front desk staff is super nice, the lady will chat with you by the way, if necessary, a cup of tea and coffee will be made during the waiting time, especially sweet. I was worried about the room’s small and specially set standard room. When I entered the room, I felt that the space was quite large. We brought two 28-inch boxes and there was no problem at all. We ordered the main course for breakfast according to the menu. The buffet cakes were very authentic. The style, Egg Benedict is very good, but don’t try blood pudding lightly. I am not used to it no matter how many times I eat it. Bath is very small and all attractions can be reached on foot. The hotel is 7-8 minutes walk from the Roman baths, bath abbey is opposite the baths, and the famous thermae bath spa is 3 minutes away from abbey. The house of Jane Austen and the fashion meseum are on the same road, even the farthest The Royal Crescent is only a 15-minute walk away.
It should be noted that the check-in time is after 3 pm and check-out before 11 am. Although the time is a bit tight, this service is really the best in the English-style hotel I have ever stayed in. When we put down the suitcase and go When we turn to the city, we have already put it in the room when we come back. When we check out, we will chat with the young lady at the front desk. Not only will I give you travel suggestions but also recommend the hotel to you, we talked about our trips, no I feel that I am staying in a hotel, it is very warm, highly recommended😉
