We got there before check in time but, after a short wait, they found a room for us. It wasn't a great room, trapped behind two fire doors and a little small, but it did have a view of te Channel, and a reasonably comfortable bed. The location was good, as we found when we went out for a walk later in the day. Turn left and we were in the old town. Walk for 15 minute or so and we were in the new town. All of Calais within a short walk. The front desk staff really were very welcoming, busy but determined to make us comfortable. When we left, caling a taxi for us ws no problem. Breakfast was a bit of a zoo. Maybe we were there at the wrong time but there were lots of untidied tables and they kept running out of the foods we were about to eat. Not run out completely, but replenishment took quite a while. We left via the ferry port. Heck of a walk and not interesting at all. Taxi is the only reasonable option.

Doing research on a quick (24 hr) pre-Brexit/lockdown dash across the Channel, I found this hotel, in easy reach of Le Shuttle, shopping, good restaurants for dinner, inclusive breakfast & secure parking, so booked. We were not dissappointed! Parking across the road by the Family Pub, I was able to nip across to reception to check in & we accessed the parking, in a street behind. The hotel was very clean & obviously compliant with all the EU C19 regulations, including one-way directions, (tho some British guests disregarded that & masks at breakfast!) My only gripe was the small size of our standard double room meant my access to the bed, squeezed in next to the window & radiator, was by crawling from the bottom! The room was spotless, as was the bathroom, & bath towels better than in many City centre hotels. The bed was comfortable! Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice - we've paid 9 Euro each for basic French breakfasts elsewhere! The hotel is in a lively area, with lots of bars & restaurants that are open & welcoming to locals & visitors alike - give it a go on your pre-Brexit/Christmas shopping trip!

Booked Hotel Pacific, arrived to be marched a street and half to Hotel Tudor, where there is a problem with the entrance lock (receptionist said you had to try code 3 plus times ....is an electrical fault (no way) )After going out for evening meal, returned unable to get back in Had to walk the street and half back to Hotel Pacific reception, who walked back to Hotel Tudor who then also could not get in, however other French resident managed to be able to operate the lock!! No one else could!! Room 2 (room we were allocated) laminate flooring parting all over! Curtains do not cover windows completely & external blind does not close properly! Shower cubicle totally disgusting grouting black!! Scared to venture in!! No headboard on bed, Duvet cover appears clean however dare not venture too much further!! No cups/ cutlery, fridge iced up, tv whilst all French still presents no picture just sound Total waste of any money. Accept whilst centrally located think twice!!! Rang Hotels.Com who rang the Hotel, they disputed facts and would not issue refund however Hotels.com issued refund voucher to my account!! Strange?? Hotels.com prepared to give a credit / similar to my issue with a Hoseasons lodge in Criccieth where again property was sub standard yet owner refused refund but Hoseasons gave one!! Think twice and check reviews!! I really do not go on holiday to be wasting my time like this!! But do Not believe it is fair on other people to be ripped off!!

Stayed over night, while we were collecting alcohol from one of the local shops. This was reasonably priced and in the centre, which was good because we found a little pub which was a couple of shops down. We went before Christmas and there was a little Christmas market and a Christmas light display which was cute! Also lots of people riding around on bikes dressed as Santa... We found parking in the street on the corner. So parking for us was free, but we had got some change Incase we needed to park in the car park. The only problem we found were so many people in the rooms next to us slammed their doors. Which were SO loud as the walls were very thin. We didn’t need to slam our door once, so just inconsiderate people I guess.

Calais is interesting in terms of it was once a bustling transient town. Cheap flights and Euro Tunnel have clearly had an impact. First time back since I was a youngster and this time with wife and two kids. The Cercle de Malines is a quaint Parisian Townhouse that has a warehouse feel as it is high ceilings and wooden floors so every move is heard. It's nice but felt like a library. Maybe that is my stuff carrying. The lady was nice enough. If you don't speak French don't expect much in way of communicating. Breakfast was fresh and typically French. Located 20 minute walk or short drive from downtown Calais. If you have loads of luggage or wheel chair beware the stairs. It is clean and comfortable, had a great night's sleep. The Bath is awesome and towels soft and fluffy. Great stop over before next part of journey. Would recommend.

This hotel is easy to access from major roads and has plenty of off-street parking. We were warmly welcomed and the staff were very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable and in a quiet part of the hotel as requested. The evening meal was great, so much choice and beautifully cooked and presented. In fact there was so much choice we could not make it to the desserts.. The next morning the breakfast buffet was amazing just the thing to set you up for the day. We were able to send our requirements at time of booking and they were seen to, no problem. As there are no lifts to the second floor if you have mobility problems just ask for a ground floor room.

We have been staying here when travelling to and from our French house for about 5 years now after switching from a hotel in Coquelles where parking was becoming difficult. No matter what time we arrive we have always been able to park in the gated compound which is important when travelling with a van. In all this time we have always been very happy with our stay . The rooms are to the usual B+B standard - compact but comfortable. The owners are lovely and very welcoming and it was a lovely feeling to walk through the door again after Covid to see a familiar face on our first time back in France. The Covid precautions were very reassuring and we had taken extra precautions ourselves by bringing our own pillows. Although we have never used them - there are two options for food just across the road - an American Diner and a McDonalds. There is also a bakery so to save time in the mornings we usually grab a couple of pastries and eat on the go which is really handy as we have a long journey whichever way we are travelling. As an added bonus to staying here there is also a French wine warehouse nearby and last year we stocked up on some interesting wines we wouldn't have found in our own region. As the title says we would not stay anywhere else.

Stayed a few times. Staff very good, rooms very clean and beds comfortable. Food good enough and served until 10 so great to get something to eat and a beer without having to go out again even if you arrive later. It's our "go to" hotel when travelling on the ferry or tunnel.
