We did need a few things from the staff like the location of a late night pharmacy and they called around and got us the information and directions we needed to help us out. That was huge! The location is amid downtown's restaurants, shops, malls, and more. Even a Burger King a block away. English speaking was perfect! The room was very well appointed with waters, amenities and a really good bathroom.

|2.79km from city centerLast week we spent 5 nights at this hotel in room 208. Pick up at the airport is free and a great service. Personnel is nice, not all of them speak English really well but that is also charming. The room was spacious and clean, has a safe and had warm water for all nights, our traveling companions in room 102 and 103 did not have warm water. Breakfast was good, we enjoyed a made to order omelette each day. Each day there was also a western option either pancakes or French toast. Toast and boiled eggs are also available. We were told the area is unsafe at night but we have not experienced anything bad. The hotel has guards. The WiFi is really good. We had dinner a couple of times in the hotel which was also good. The only downside is that all the noise travels through the building because of the hard floors. People walking the stairs and talking can be heard in the room. When I go back to Addis I will definitely go back to this hotel.

Do take earplugs if you are a light sleeper as local dogs do bark during the night. Good variety of food for breakfast and the omelettes were great. Evening meal service was slow as short of staff, although we were informed as we went in for dinner. The food was ok but not brilliant. We didn't use the spa or gym but they did look good. Overall, a good stay in Addis Ababa and very close to the airport.

|1.62km from city centerThis run down place does not even deserve a single star. I paid for 7 nights and left the hotel after 1 single night not even asking for a refund! The dirtiest, most derelict hotel i've ever been to in Addis Ababa. I almost electrocuted myself when i tried to take a bath. I opened the water taps and water started bursting from every hole and the floor was flooded in a few seconds. Closed the taps when i realized the water had already inundated the bedroom. Tried to get out the tab and DANGER realized that a plugged electricity socket was literally at floor level and water almost reached it ! I waited for the water to drain, throw 2 towels on the floor and jump out of the bathroom stepping on those dry towels. I left the hotel immediately and even thought of calling the police. The hotel is a big scam.

Firstly, I'd like to commend the cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel in general. The service provided, both at the restaurant and reception, was exceptional. Additionally, your internet service is among the best in town, which, as a Google Engineer, I can attest to. However, I must address an issue regarding the parking entry, which was quite challenging. Despite the availability of ample parking spaces, the entry point was poorly designed, making it difficult to maneuver in and out. I even sought assistance but unfortunately couldn't find any. I hope this issue can be addressed. Furthermore, there seems to be a communication gap regarding the parking, as those directing customers to the lot should clarify whether it's manageable for new arrivals. It was disappointing to be guided to the parking lot by someone representing Hayat Regency, only to find it inaccessible. Thank you for considering this feedback, and I hope it contributes to enhancing the overall experience for future guests.

|2.82km from city centerI booked this spot because it was very affordable. Only upon arriving did I realize how huge and classy the place is. Was not expecting a big, sprawling executive style hotel. The place does have an air of faded glory from bygone times, but a very welcome stay. Rugs are worn, furniture in foyer a little beat up, but classy and comfortable throughout. Staff are fantastic, the grounds are enormous and lush, there are many places to sit and relax, and Ghion features a stunning restaurant. A massive, two-tier, round wooden building with a high, circular, peaked roof, in an elegant, sturdy Ethiopian traditional construction. Absolutely beautiful, with wonderful, authentic Ethiopian cuisine at an affordable cost. Wonderful. My only complaint is that, as an old guy with fading eyesight, rooms are dark! Even with all lights on, still tough to read anything, and it took some minutes to get water from the tub or sink to begin running warm. Still, and absolutely gorgeous site, well worth the very modest price. Will happily stay there again any time I return to Addis.

We only arrived, Sirak, the manager of the establishment, made a staff member available to us who accompanied us gently and without any cost, to a local phone store to solve our Internet connection. The official stayed with us until we were taken into account and was the intermediary between us and the company's official, which made communication very easy. Whenever we were going to the reception to ask for some information, etc., they offered tea or coffee while waiting for the answer, the very comfortable and well-equipped apartment and the cleaning, perfect. Finally, it is worth noting that at our exit Mr Sirak took the task of getting a taxi (paid for the hotel) to transfer us to the airport, which was not included in our package, it was a very kind gesture. Super recommend that place for visitors to Addis Ababa.

The room is lovely and clean, the shower - heavely, and the bed - sublime. In addition, the breakfast buffet had a wonderful variety and was really delicious. The airport shops and restaurants are very expensive and facilities not great, so it is definitely worth booking into the hotel. It's considerably cheaper to book through trip.com, just be sure to book at least a day in advance if you are landing very early - bookings need to be confirmed by the office which only opens at 8am (Ethiopia time). (My photos don't do the bed or shower justice!)

First week experience was unfortunate as I had to do quarantine for 7 days and the room was uncomfortable. It wasn’t as clean as it could have been at all. The window had no light which made it very hard to work online, especially when you have meetings and daily video meetings. The room was very very cold and no heaters. Some of the lamps didn’t work either, the lightning could be improved. This affected my work The construction opposite the window was quite creepy as it stole all the natural light away and it looks quite scary. During the first week, I was told different information by different staff which was confusing.
Unfortunately my COVID results were late, which had me ending up extending my stay for future two days.
However the staff did apologise and the manager personally contacted me few times.
After the quarantine, I was moved into a much better and cleaner room, which allowed me to work online with good natural light and amenities in the room.
Overall the staff was friendly, I could see the chefs cooking with hygiene measures and everyone practiced food hygiene , washing hands etc.
Suggestions : I had someone call me at midnight during my first 7 days to say the laundry was ready. It freaked me out as the timing is unacceptable to call a guest at that time. Perhaps better training should be in place. Once I wanted to have a drink in the restaurant/bar and the waiter told me I should drink in my room. Later I saw other people drink in the bar. They should communicate with each other or with the manager to see what’s allowed or not. Staff should communicate more with each other for better understanding so they can inform customers the same thing and not different. The staff should understand that sometimes If the customer feels distressed, you need to acknowledge that and not excuse it.
Perhaps because of COVID the rest of the hotel amenities were closed as I was told the bar on 9th floor is closed, there is no spa, the jewellery and gift shop was shut, the gym was not accessible.
The location is in perfect location in Bole, close to restaurants and cafes. There is Infiniti cafe right next to the hotel which is great.
Overall, I do think the staff were friendly and helpful and tried to help when they could. Some of the staff were extra kind and really reassuring such as one the staff in front desk who helped me change to the new room and directed me to Edna mall and helped with transport etc. Some of the wait staff were really friendly and always asked how I was and how my day was which was sweet and kind. The hotel is safe and secure with security measures. The manager also checked in few times and personally dropped me off to the airport which was reassuring and kind of him.
I am hoping to come back soon and I will stay here again when I return to Addis .

The hotel has great location as it is in the heart of the city. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. The hotel staff are warm and friendly. Food is great, with buffet option in the afternoon. I liked the heated swimming pool, steam and sauna, which are all free for guests. Great value for money. I was able to pay for accommodation and meals using by Visa card. I will definitely come back.

|0.78km from city centerTo start off let’s just say they have such a clever WiFi password that I absolutely love 😊 Ok so when you arrive at Addis Ababa airport you’ll be welcomed by the hotel’s shuttle service if you book ahead … sadly there wont be any one holding a sign with your name you’ll have to go to their office inside the airport and inform them that you have a booking at the hotel and the shuttle will take you there ( this also works even if you don’t have a prearrange booking as I found out later ) The shuttle itself is a comfy minivan great to take you from A to B but won’t call it the luxurious. Once I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted by Mr. Amanuel the bell-Boy with the great smile – Honest to god I haven’t seen that guy frown once during my stay always elegant and courteous. I’m the -Help yourself- kind of guy who doesn’t feel comfortable letting others carry my bags even at airports. But Amanule just has that grace that makes you relaxed around him, you’ll gladly hand him your things without a second thought while you head inside to check-in. The shuttle parks in front of the main hotel gate that looks average or even less than average and I was a bit disappointed that my agent booked a hotel like this for me. But that changed once I passed the gate. The front of the hotel is a double purposed area to your right is the Bar-Café-entertainment area with a small porch for bands. And to your left is the swimming pool separated prom the bar by a neatly arranged row of decorative plants that are just tall enough to make the two areas feel very separate, but if its privacy your looking for in this swimming pool sadly you’re better off going to a private swimming pool in a gym ( there are an assortment nearby that ill discuss later here). The reception area is neat, clean and elegant. To your right you’ll find the business center with 2 computers, a printer/scanner and internet connection just in case of those occasions when you go to hotel for a vacation and leave your laptop at home. The front desk is right ahead and when I came in, the first thing I saw was miss Frehiwot welcoming smile, that felt like the smile of a lifelong friend you meet after years apart. She was very professional yet unlike receptionists in other hotels I’ve been to she wasn’t stiff. The check-in procedure felt like a chat rather than the dry, tedious form filling I suffer in every hotel. And even tough my plans for this vacation were not clear she was flexible and very open to changes and gave very clear and thoughtful suggestions that she literally became my go-to when I want to know anything about the area or what to do in a situation, from getting a local SIM card to where I can find a pharmacy I’ll ask her before even checking google – which is not that reliable in Addis and I can not stress enough how you should never depend on it alone- , one day I wasn’t feeling well at 3am and needed some painkillers from a pharmacy , she suggested that I shouldn’t go out alone at

The Chinese restaurant on the negative floor has very few people and does not say how it tastes. The ingredients are really fresh and fishy. I do n’t know how long it took to make breakfast Chinese food and something to eat shredded potatoes. I really recommend buffet.
