Somehow I got fooled into thinking that across from campus this would be a place that would often accommodate student parents, visiting faculty and may even be associated with the university it bears in the name. Far from it! I should have read the reviews? The rooms stinks, air through the window or AC machine brings just more dumpster smells (it was only inches under the air intake), towels were dirty, w old wadded towel draped around the toilet base, awful! Plus rowdy guests returning late from bars hanging out outside and the final straw: A loud argument that brought police to the scene at 3:30am arresting three guests for the altercation. This place should be closed down for all its violations. I demanded and received some refund from the exorbitant price they ask for on weekends.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Buffalo-Amherst is conveniently located on Millersport Highway near Interstates 290 and 90 (New York State Thruway). This five-floor hotel is just one mile from Buffalo Niagara International Airport and a few miles from University of Buffalo. Complimentary breakfast available with good quality fare but with limited selection. No on-site restaurant. Several dining establishments are near the hotel but not within walking distance. Boulevard Mall and Galleria Mall are located a few miles from the hotel. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Main lobby and corridors had dry mud on the floors at the time of my stay. Hallway floors also had several discarded beverage creamer containers laying about. Guest suite kitchen featured crumbs and food debris on the cabinetry floors including one discarded green Jolly Rancher hard candy at the time of my stay. Several dishes and utensils were present in the dishwasher were dirty from prior use. With the exception of oven, full kitchen available in guest suites. Limited amenities available in the guest suite kitchen (no kitchen sponge, dishwashing soap). The guest suite window curtains featured several dark, brown stains. Guest room bedroom included a spider web located on the ceiling above the television and the bedroom pillows smelled of canine odor. A shriveled contact lens was present on the guest bathroom sink counter. The guest bathroom tub was quick to fill as the drain was notably slow. Overall, the guest room was comfortable but furnishings were worn and dated. Guest bathroom sink and vanity are located in bedroom suite, separate from shower stall and toilet. Fitness center located in the center of the complex is clean and has basic yet modern equipment. Indoor swimming pool available but did not use at the time of my stay. Courtyard ”Sport Court” has a half-court basketball area. Ample parking available. Traffic noise from busy Millersport Highway and exit ramps from Interstate 290 is prevalent on sides proximal to the respective roads. Overall okay experience however I would consider another hotel when visiting the Buffalo Amherst area in the future.

My husband and I spent two nights at this hotel, last week en route from a trip to Boston. We chose Reikart House having stayed there before the unfortunate Covid lock down 2020. We LOVED our weekend there and longed to return so on this occasion, we were thrilled to pay this hotel another visit. Our room was very comfortable, bright and clean. Our check in which was around 5:30pm Wednesday Sept 14th was very warm, friendly and helpful. I mention the date being that I didn't catch the name of the really nice young man who attended to us. The reason that I didn't give a 5 star rating is, the front desk staff thereafter were not helpful and vague especially when my husband was having issues with the Wi Fi which wasn't remedied , it appears, we were not the only guests struggling with this issue. Another reason for my rating is, house keeping. We returned to our room late afternoon to find that it was still not cleaned despite the sign placed much earlier in the day for the staff to clean our room. We had to wait sometime for room cleaning to be done. The young woman at the front desk whom I addressed this issue with was not that accommodating, I think that she was a little overwhelmed having to deal with my complaint and checking in other guest arrivals. The first time we stayed at this establishment, I gave a 5 star rating. This time we felt for the caliber of hotel, things were not up to par which is unfortunate as it is a really lovely place to stay at when visiting Buffalo.

I was given an accessible room which worked out very well. I especially liked the table near my bed with ample electrical outlets. The thermostat was tricky but worked well and the heater was quiet. The WiFi was slow but adequate for my purpose. The mattress felt a little funny but I slept well. My only disappointment was being unable to watch the Yankee Astros game on the TV (on a cable channel not part of their system).

We stayed at the Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst for one night while we attended a wedding across the street. The hotel was lovely and clean with a beautiful and welcoming firepit, plenty of convenient parking, a nice workstation area, and very large rooms with super comfortable beds! The staff was friendly, the halls and surrounding areas were nice and quiet, and we greatly enjoyed our stay.

Customer service was not good starting with the person who did the check in. There were no extra towels available Easter weekend since apparently all the rooms were full. Stayed on a floor where there was a party going on and that set the tone for the whole evening, the smell of pot did not go away even though it was at the other end of the hallway. If you are looking for Marriott quality - keep driving.

Stayed here while in town for an appointment. Had previously stayed at a competitor property next door with a horrible stay. We were very pleased to find that the experience didn't carry over for the area. While there were a few items that could have been better (more on that below), we were happy with our stay. All of the staff that we interacted with were extremely welcoming and helpful. A few items that could have been better that we noted was the transition from the hard floor to the carpet in the room needed some attention. The carpet could be replaced as it is worn at the transition area which is expected over time. Otherwise the room was clean as were all areas of the hotel that we accessed. The little store area was unique and well stocked with a variety of options and seemed to have far better pricing that what one would expect at a hotel. If back in the Buffalo Amherst area, we would stay here again as it is far better than some others near by!

The overall is very good, the service is very good, humane, and the environment is very quiet. A little trouble is that there is no elevator. If there is too much luggage and the room is on the second floor, it is not very convenient. The other one is that there is no road left around the hotel. It’s all around the driveway.

We booked a room at this hotel for one night stay with friends. It was the evening of a football game in the area, and there was also a large group or team visiting at the same time, so the hotel was very busy with lots of kids running up and down the halls and a large group having a party in the lobby all night. Upon arriving into our room, we noticed that the door was open which was concerning. When we closed the door behind us we found that it did not latch closed and could be pushed open. We called down to the hotel reception and were given instructions on how to fix the issue. Unfortunately, this did not help. We called down once again and they sent a staff member up to try to help, and the staff member was frustrated by this issue. We were running low on time so we decided to take our valuables with us while they fixed the door since we were not comfortable sleeping in a room with a door that does not lock closed. We also asked to switch rooms and were told that there were no comparable rooms however they were finally able to place us in an upgraded room but it was not the right size for the amount of beds that we needed. The staff did what they could to help, however they were not friendly about it and seemed annoyed that we were asking for a door that locked. We even asked to be placed in a sister location but were told there were none. Overall, it was too many issues for such a short stay and I would not choose to stay at that location again.

Our flight was canceled and needed a place to stay as soon as possible. The only available place was this hotel. My booking was through hotels.com where the rating was good, and I hoped for an early check-in. When I called the hotel to request early check-in, the clerk was very rude and abrupt. On the day of arrival, I arrived early and to my surprise they had early check-in. There was a gentleman at the desk and he was very friendly and helpful. We were put on the second floor and there is no elevator. I found the hotel dirty and the breakfast was below expectations. In addition to yogurt, there are diluted juices, and coffee with no cream just powdered creamer. There was a gray color to the sausage and a slimy texture to the eggs. There is a strong smell throughout the hotel and dirty floors in the hallways. Upon entering the room, we found the wallpaper peeling, there were no blackout curtains, the bathtub was old, the curtains were dirty, and the blow dryer was dirty as well. A decent bed was provided - no bugs were found. It was 11 pm at night and there were people running and screaming in the hallway. Also the walls are thin and the people next door were also having loud ”relations” and banging the walls.

We stayed at The Sleep Inn Buffalo Amherst on September 14/15th (one night) 2022 in Room 514. First impression of the place pretty clean and inviting though a little dark and slightly outdated. The receptionist, Melanie, was outstanding, super friendly and followed through with all our requests. She made our stay exceptional! As far as the room - adequate. There are a few MINOR maintenance and housekeeping issues that should be addressed to make the room better: 1. The bathroom toilet paper dispenser had used up roll of paper on it with only one use remaining! It had the customary “v” fold so I know housekeeping saw it but let it fly. See photo below. 2. Speaking of “fly” there was a fly buzzing around in the room when we first entered. Very annoying. Had to swat it. 3. The bathroom light (not the shower) works but intermittently. It takes a few tries to get it to come on. Probably the switch needs replaced. 4. The bathroom door does not lock from inside. Needs slight adjustment. 5. The shower head pipe coming from the wall has a cover plate that will not stay in place and slides out from the wall and falls on the shower head. 6. At the bottom of the shower door, inside and outside, there is an ugly buildup of mold/mildew. Needs cleaned better. 7. The room has a slight mildew odor and smells like feet. Maybe it needs a good shampooing. Overall, a pleasant stay. The breakfast, on Sept 15, was much better than we expected. Plenty of everything to make for a great breakfast. The dining area employee (did not catch her name, from Cambodia) was super nice and friendly and talked to us at length and asked us how our stay was; which was overall great!

Two nights. Pretty busy place. No real issues with the hotel, but previously used soap in the shower. However, that was the only room issue. Guests were all appropriate as encountered and no issues with late night noise. A good location for access to I290 and several restaurants and grocery stores. Biggest complaint is they said my choicehotels membership did not afford any discount. But was later told if I booked through the choice hotels website (I made it directly with desk staff) - I I would have likely had a discount.

Would be 5 star rating except for the beds, which are the newer style (possibly a hybrid?) and very very very soft, to the point they are hard to get out of and feel hot. Okay for sleeping, but to sit on and watch a movie etc, you just sink deeper and deeper into the foam. They were Beautyrest hospitality brand. Very clean room, nice towels, clean bedding, wonderful shower. There were young kids running up and down the hall screaming and laughing till midnight, but that is not the fault of the hotel, just bad parenting. We enjoyed our stay. All staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The check in clerk, the maintenance man who helped up bring our things from the car to the room when no luggage carts were available, and the very kind breakfast attendant. I called down around 9pm for an extra blanket and toothpaste (we forgot to bring toothpaste...oops!) 2 blankets and toothpaste were brought up by the night clerk within 5 minutes (thanks!). Breakfast was very nice and the coffee was great! The pool was clean and open from 7am to 10pm. We would book here again. I think I just have to get used to modern beds. I sleep on an innerspring extra-firm at home.
