      Hotel is on beautiful piece of property. Gold course is beautiful and grounds were beautiful. Great food and service. However grounds were in need of maintenance. Pools missing tiles, were needing caulking around sides and there were fruit flies everywhere. Public areas needed clean up and upgrade for how expensive resort is. Rooms are old and AC in our room never cooled off and ran continuously. For a high rating resort, we expected a little more pristine rooms and buildings.

      I have the pleasure of staying at the wonderful hotel from April 6th to April 11th for a family event. During my stay my 19 year niece who have Juvenile Type 1 Diabetics. Early one morning her blood sugar dropped to a dangerous under 50. In a panic I rushed down stairs with all the cash I had on hand with urgency. At the front desk was the lovely Yesnia, I told her what was going and asked if they had Skittles. She pointed to the canteen where I grabbed candies and orange juice. Not knowing how much money I had I was willing to give it all to her. She with passionate told me not to worry about it and encouraged me to tend to my niece. I will NEVER forget this young woman not to mentioned she probably saved my niece from a sure hospital visit or even death The next day I went to the front desk to thank her only to find out she only worked night shift. When I told the front desk staff what she had done they were equally compassionate. I do not remember their names but I am quite sure they remember me, due to the fact I broke out in tears. I was mainly tears of joy knowing with everything that is going on in the world there are still beautiful caring people.       I booked a suite we r a family of 4 . Plenty of space for the kids like the other reviewer stated. Rooms are quiet and beds are comfortable so you get a good sleep. Hotel also has full restaurant n bar... didn't have a chance to try it but just an fyi. Rooms have a Keurig so that a plus if your a coffee drinker. In the mornings they have complementary coffee downstairs. Also they have a heated pool as per front desk (another fyi). Location of hotel is very convenient; it's near lots of restaurants n shopping... 10 min drive to SA zoo n downtown. 15 min to SeaWorld. 5 min to Cantera shopping mall. Staying here was a great choice for me... will definitely be staying here again.

      Stayed Rms. 222 and 223 from 7 April to 7/ 14. Been staying here since 2015 on visits to family except for 2029 hiatus due to Covid restrictions. Place is convenient to Shavano are where kids live. Sad to report that the place has really gone downhill. Found out on the 8th that the shower in 222 was all scared up. Cartridge in the old Moen shower valve had been installed backwards. When valve handle was turned to the blue marked side, (which should yield cold water) gave almost boiling hot water. Conversely, when the know was turned to the re marked, received cold water. Of course to turn the shower on at all, one had to go through the blue marked are , which yielded dangerously hot water. That is a real safety issue. I reported it to front desk. Twice. No corrective action at all, all during my stay. Shower head was clogged or partially cloggedin about a quarter of the circumference of the head. The clogs made the shower head spew water out of the shower onto the floor. Could not adjust shower curtain to keep water in tub. Floor got soaked, even with bath mat / rug in place to soak up water. Another serious safety issue, in terms of potential slip and fall problem. Reported to front desk. Multiple times No correction action. Spout for tub was loose and actually fell out of wall when water was flowing through spout before pulling up the diverted know to send water up to shower head. At least not a safety issue. Yes. Told the front desk. No response. Toilet constantly leaked water from the tank through the flapper valve into the bowl. When the tank level dropped enough, the float valve turned and refilled the tank. Every four minutes. Again and again. Every four minutes. Over and over and over. Front desk I hear you ask? Multiple times. No corrective action, and this leak was costing the hotel operator serious money for wasted water. Go figure. One of the five light bulbs in the light bar over the sink was out when I checked in on 7 April. I was still out when I checked out on 14 April. Yes I told the front desk. Multiple times. No corrective action. On the plus side the breakfast buffet was okay. UUsual fare. Not quite the Plaza in NYC, but OK. The pool And garden area in the center courtyard were nice, for both swimming and just for sitting and reading a book or catching up with messages on my phone. Good service from front desk to get cab to go downtown on Sunday the 10th to go to Riverwalk for last day of Fiesta. No way I was going to drive downtown with the crowds at Riverwalk that day. Still overall a very disappointing stay at a hotel we have used for years. Going to need to rearrange hotel accommodations for next trip to San Antonio. The hotel is old and things wear out and break. I understand that. But to have management ignore significant issues, after reporting them multiple times, is just totally unacceptable.

      We met another couple here for vacation with both couples staying at the hotel. We all found the hotel to have comfortable rooms and great beds for sleeping. The rooms are large, and the four of us met up in one of the rooms each night for a nightcap drink and random conversation. The hotel staff was polite and professional throughout our four-day stay. Breakfast was okay but the attendant did get a bit behind in keeping things stocked during the breakfast hours. We did not try the small bar area they have in the lobby. Walk out the back doors and there is the Riverwalk path. The start of the restaurant and bar area is about a 10 minute walk along the river. Our first two days was wonderful weather with temps in the high 70's making it a wonderful walk. The last two days found a cold spell coming in with temps in the 30's making the walk a bit chilly, but this would be the case for anyone walking any distance along the river. Walking to the Alamo is also doable; however, tended to use Lyft when going to other places primarily due to the cold weather. Overall, we would use SpringHill Suites San Antonio Downtown/Riverwalk Area again if visiting again.

      I came to town to see my son at Fort Sam Houston. Front desk attendant was super friendly, nice and efficient. I was able to check into my room early. I will say the surrounding area isn’t great, but it’s not terrible. They do have a full time parking attendant in the parking lot, which made me feel better about leaving my brand new car out. I was able to use the gym and all the equipment worked well. Breakfast was hot and tasty. Every single staff person I came in contact with was pleasant and nice. I would stay here again.

      I was very pleased with the 2 Queen Deluxe beds. The room was very nice and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here. Book non smoking and if you smoke. Smoke in your car or outside. There is a $25.00 per pet fee for pets which is nonrefundable and that's understandable and reasonable. Breakfast is the usual waffles, cereal, etc. At least it's something. If you prefer a grand slam, take yourself to Dennys and buy it. If you purchase the deluxe room you have a coffee pot ( the one in my room was missing a tube so it didn't work), the fridge and microwave worked great and I reported the coffee pot. Guests should always report issues. If you do not report issues then they will not be corrected so instead of writing a nasty review. Report the issue. Give the hotel a chance to correct the problem. That is all have a good day.

      For all those who don't like to be shafted, please consider joining me in boycotting this place. I got 'Grinched' by a manager determined to shake some money from me, after I made a rare honest error in cancelling (heaven forbid). I thought I had cancelled my Marriott (SpringHill Suites) reservation at this place in San Antonio/Alamo the night of December 18, 2021, just before the midnight deadline, after learning my flight to San Antonio would be so severely delayed that it would not be worth the trip, since I would miss my planned meeting with my nonprofit board of directors) I am so careful and precise about my cancellations, on the infrequent occasions that they are necessary, that I even take screenshots of them (and sent them to said general manage) - only, in this case, I inadvertently took the screen shot (attached) BEFORE my cancellation rather than immediately afterwards, I was so hurried and harried. A simple matter of a rare human error (we all make them!). The manager refused to fully refund me, and has been terribly informal since the very beginning (I address him as 'Mr.' and he addresses me as Christopher, though I have made it clear I prefer 'Mr.' or even 'Dr.' since I have a PhD, and I obviously do not like his condescending informality I am now taking this up with their corporate office and hoping so much it will arrange to have my money refunded. It is the only decent and honorable thing to do. For me, it is as much a matter of principle as anything else. The manager, John Corona, refused to tell me if he had plenty of availability at the hotel that night, because he did not want to reveal that he was just trying to pocket my money. I'm a loyal Gold Member customer, and nothing like this has ever happened. I simply made an error, thinking I had cancelled. Obviously if I am careful enough to take. a screen shot, I thought I had covered all my bases - only to my dismay, upon receiving a bill from that SpringHill Suites, to discover I had made an inadvertent error in a moment of stress and hurry, when there were just a few minutes before the cancellation deadline (as you can clearly see from the screen shot). I'm a writer and civic entrepreneur of some note, my book published internationally, have been a Harvard Ethics Fellow, and am simply asking to be treated with decency and honor. I do hope you will arrange the refund, in the spirit of the Christmas season. As things stand, the decision to bilk me out of hard-earned money during the holiday season really stings, -- and surely is not the Marriott way. We all make errors, and this was simply a human error on my part - clearly, clearly, clearly, I thought I had cancelled the reservation, just as I clearly am a loyal customer who has never done anything like this. By shortsightedly cheating me now, Marriott stands to lose thousands of dollars in my business in the years to come. I realize my loyalty is just a drop in the bucket, but arguably it is an import

      Staybridge Suites San Antonio-Stone Oak, an IHG Hotel

      DISGUSTING. I recently booked this hotel because we are in between houses and this location is convenient. I called ahead to ask about the different rooms before I booked. Upon arrival was told I had to have a room with one queen bed for my 2 teen kids and myself. The hotel was basically empty amidst the COVID 19 outbreak. Based on occupancy they compromised a bigger room that was handicap accessible. Easily could have given us a 2 bedroom or anything else. This was not a problem until the room was disgusting and no coffee maker. The tub was cracked and you had to be careful not to pinch your feet. The light fixture in the restroom was so gross you could see that something had flooded from above. The drain in the tub was moldy. The soap dispensers in the shower were empty. There were 2 total towels and 2 washcloths. There was spots all over and wiping marks like a sorry attempt to clean. I addressed my concerns and was advised a coffee maker would be brought. Needless to say that they were no longer serving breakfast or evening social any longer. Coffee maker is now a necessity. The next day I went to the lobby to express my dissatisfaction. The woman was very helpful and gave us 4 other room keys to see if they were clean. Dirty, half a couch missing, remotes with rubber bands holding them together. They were all unacceptable to the IHG standard I'm used to and expect. The manager became involved and quickly tried to get us to move to a different location. He also insulted me to offer us a $5.00 discount because he is partly at fault. I was given 3 other keys to check rooms at which point I found one suitable that I could clean myself. I don't know how this hotel operates or why I received discrimination. I'm glad my family only had to be here a week. I have really changed my opinion about IHG hotels this location should be evaluated. The manager promised me 25,000 points for the I convenience, doesn't surprise me that was a lie too. 3 star rating with 1 star quality.

      We stayed here on a Saturday night and made the reservation that morning. It cost around $320 or $330 for the night. The room was fairly large. There was the main room with 2 double beds and another room (open floor plan) with a sofa bed. The rooms were clean and comfortable. In the morning, they had a nice breakfast with various options. The hotel is fairly close to the Riverwalk and The Alamo. It cost around $10 to Uber to the Riverwalk, and around $15 to return (excluding tip).

      First tip- get the app, and use it. We asked for an early check-in, late check-out, and all kinds of things during our stay. The service using the communication on the app was top-notch. Every request was met, questions answered, and the service everywhere was wonderful. We were lucky to snag good parking by waiting for someone to leave, and then we didn't leave the whole trip. If you're there on a summer weekend, the lines at Cibolo Moon are likely going to be long during peak hours, but once you request your table, they'll text you when it's ready. The buffet is worth it. Everything was delicious and the service was great. There are a ton of places that Door Dash there; just meet in the front drive. It was our anniversary, and I requested a good balcony (we got a Walk Out balcony room), and they gave us a room with great view of the waterpark, right by the stairs that lead out to the entrance of the waterpark. It was so convenient. The waterpark is incredible. My husband and I had fun for 2 nights alone, and then our 4 year old joined us. It was so fun for all of us. When we were alone, we missed our son because there were so many kids, and we were happy when he joined us. We spent all our time at the waterpark, and he did not want to stop going down the slides or want to leave. Look at the map so you know where everything is because there are so many fun spots to find. The prices are a lot. But, surprisingly worth it. Our first day at the waterpark, we ordered drinks for $15 each and expected them to suck. They did not. They were actually annoyingly incredible, and we wanted more. Spicy margarita all day. The service was great, food great, drinks great, view from room, location of room- awesome. Yes, things in the room are a little dated. But the lobby and all areas are amazing, and our experience was incredible.

      5/5 Excellent hotel, clean. I stayed on an out and back from Phx to Fla in Oct/18 and then again on the way back to Phx in Dec/18. I made the reservation on Bring Fido. A shout out to Gary Lundberg for the excellent check in on both occasions after long drives and late arrivals. Gary was patient and professional, which made staying an easy choice the second time. He's an asset to the property and company! On the down side, parking is limited due to the property size. Getting in and out of a hotel on 1604 is not easy either, however, it's clean and quiet. As for pet friendly, not many areas to exercise the pooch, but for a one night stay it works fine.

      I stayed one night at this motel in August 2019. There is plenty of off road parking and building appears clean and orderly. The front desk person was very helpful. The room appeared clean. Everything that was in the room was functional . The air conditioner worked very well. However, there was no hairdryer or shampoo and conditioner. Just 2 bars of soap and 2 packets of makeup remover. There was a sign saying that they would provide items that "you forgot". Price was very reasonable. I think it was about $65.00 for a king room. One thing is that the walls are very thin and you can hear if a baby is crying several rooms down You can also hear your neighbors talking next door. The room came with microwave, small refrigerator, iron and ironing board.

      So yesterday I posted a review about this place. In the review, I did state that this place should be 5 star. Actually they are. My issue was that were overbooked and couldn't accomodate me and my family. However; after speaking with the manager, not only did he fix the issue and apologize; he found a way to get me in a room for the night. Housekeeping apologized and made sure I was aware of their intentions. The young man at the front desk Byron, was amazing. Byron was funny, confident and I watched him take care of every guest with the same enthusiasm and respect. He is definitely a bright light to this hotel. Miguel, the manager was extremely professional, courteous and straight forward. The hotel is CLEANED SANITIZED and SAFE! They have overnight security to ensure your car and belongings are safe while you rest. The fitness center is definitely up to par and the pool is decent as well......and I believe its open 24 hours! I originally gave them a bad review and I was 100% wrong. This is 5 Star and I too agree with the rating you guys constantly receive. Thank you Byron........ Thank you Miguel.......       My husband and I booked a last minute trip to San Antonio for a weekend getaway for our anniversary. Found a great deal on Tripadvisor and booked the Hotel Contessa since we had never stayed here we had no idea what to expect. We had no problems with the booking and the most memorable trip, the hotel staff was beyond helpful and pleasant! They went our of their way to make our stay very special and comfortable.       The hotel is in a good location, about 1 km from the river bank. The hotel room is quite spacious, the bed is very comfortable, it is a bit noisy towards the side of the Express way, if the person sleeping light may be affected. On the first night of my stay, I asked for a change to the opposite room. The staff at the front desk changed quickly, very good!

      Clean and comfortable room although small & a bit dated. Right next door to the Alamo and very close to the River walk, both great and interesting attractions. Hotel staff were very friendly and responded promptly to the couple of request we had during our 4 day stay. We would stay her again. On the downside, All hotels in this area require Valet parking and Crockett is no different, but the $35 per day charge is a bit steep when they park your vehicle about 150 feet away in an outside parking lot that is also used by the many building contractors that drive their own vehicles into the same parking lot and park next to or near the hotel guest vehicles. I doubt the contractors are charged $35 per day parking.

      I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Checked in with a very nice clerk named Adriana. My room was a single king, extremely clean, comfortable bed & bedding, enjoyed having a microwave & coffee maker in the room. Room was very quiet, no noise from freeway. Many restaurants nearby & also a HEB grocery. I was thoroughly impressed in the morning when I came down for Starbucks coffee & they had a wonderful grab and go breakfast. Breakfast sandwiches, yoghurt, fresh fruit, muffins, cereal, oatmeal & more. I made two wonderful cups of Starbucks coffee, heated up a breakfast sandwich & walked up to the front desk to have them add to my bill. The manager said, "No, it is complementary!" I was blown away, as Courtyards do not offer free breakfast. The manager said it was because of the Covid situation & since the pool & hot tub were closed, he wanted to offer his guests something special. Great job!!! I will be returning in a few weeks to get my Covid shot in San Antonio & will be staying here again.

      Stayed Rms. 222 and 223 from 7 April to 7/ 14. Been staying here since 2015 on visits to family except for 2029 hiatus due to Covid restrictions. Place is convenient to Shavano are where kids live. Sad to report that the place has really gone downhill. Found out on the 8th that the shower in 222 was all scared up. Cartridge in the old Moen shower valve had been installed backwards. When valve handle was turned to the blue marked side, (which should yield cold water) gave almost boiling hot water. Conversely, when the know was turned to the re marked, received cold water. Of course to turn the shower on at all, one had to go through the blue marked are , which yielded dangerously hot water. That is a real safety issue. I reported it to front desk. Twice. No corrective action at all, all during my stay. Shower head was clogged or partially cloggedin about a quarter of the circumference of the head. The clogs made the shower head spew water out of the shower onto the floor. Could not adjust shower curtain to keep water in tub. Floor got soaked, even with bath mat / rug in place to soak up water. Another serious safety issue, in terms of potential slip and fall problem. Reported to front desk. Multiple times No correction action. Spout for tub was loose and actually fell out of wall when water was flowing through spout before pulling up the diverted know to send water up to shower head. At least not a safety issue. Yes. Told the front desk. No response. Toilet constantly leaked water from the tank through the flapper valve into the bowl. When the tank level dropped enough, the float valve turned and refilled the tank. Every four minutes. Again and again. Every four minutes. Over and over and over. Front desk I hear you ask? Multiple times. No corrective action, and this leak was costing the hotel operator serious money for wasted water. Go figure. One of the five light bulbs in the light bar over the sink was out when I checked in on 7 April. I was still out when I checked out on 14 April. Yes I told the front desk. Multiple times. No corrective action. On the plus side the breakfast buffet was okay. UUsual fare. Not quite the Plaza in NYC, but OK. The pool And garden area in the center courtyard were nice, for both swimming and just for sitting and reading a book or catching up with messages on my phone. Good service from front desk to get cab to go downtown on Sunday the 10th to go to Riverwalk for last day of Fiesta. No way I was going to drive downtown with the crowds at Riverwalk that day. Still overall a very disappointing stay at a hotel we have used for years. Going to need to rearrange hotel accommodations for next trip to San Antonio. The hotel is old and things wear out and break. I understand that. But to have management ignore significant issues, after reporting them multiple times, is just totally unacceptable.

      The bottom line of this review is that Comfort Suites and Booking .com are liars and place profit over any sense of human compassion. Their character has been reveled and it is NOT good! San Antonio Texas was hit with an unprecedented snow storm. Homes lost electricity for DAYS! Our home lost electricity for 60 hours! (2 1/2 days) Outside was single digits and our home was 40 degrees I decided on our 2nd day to get a hotel room for the night. We needed a hotel close to home, because the roads were dangerous. I got onto Booking.com App and chose this hotel. There were 4 rooms left for the night. I decided to get a room. I looked at my husband and asked him "it is the 16th correct? and he said yes, it is the 16th" I went ahead and booked a room for that night specifically picking the 16th as my date. Here is where I think is my mistake: I picked the "no cancel" option because we were freezing in our home, and I knew we desperately needed a room. Warning: Always pick the cancel option no matter what!!! I was packing up and decided to call the hotel to see if our room was ready early since we were freezing in our home. The hotel said we had no reservation for that night but the 26th of Feb and that there were no rooms available for the night! and they would NOT cancel! I know I picked the 16th and NOT the 26th! This is where I feel that Comfort Suite and Booking.com are Liars and believe they bumped me up to the 26th. Profit over people. The hotel told me to talk to Booking.com, and Booking.com told me to talk to the hotel. No help at all! We spent the night in our freezing home again for the night. The room was already costing us over $100.00, so why would I try to spend another $100.00+ at another close hotel, just to be bumped again. So we hunkered down again. I tired to cancel with booking.com (I have used many times before) and they would not help, and told me to contact the hotel, and they did not help. Long story short, my husband and I just spent our obligatory night, Feb 26th at this hotel that is 2 minutes from my home. We checked in at the hotel, and the clerk butchered our last name and giggled. I was not in any mood for anyone to drop the ball on customer service and I was NOT impressed. The hotel itself is nice, room was nice, sheets and bedding are soft and amazing. Pillows are great but are too big and we both came home with a neck ache. Bottom line is that I am glad that our obligatory night at this hotel is OVER!!! I am absolutely done with Booking.com! and Comfort Suites. I will look to find great customer service where they know they are dealing with human beings who need help! You hear of wonderful stories of communities coming together to help each other out in emergency situations. This is a story of people in our community that did NOT help out at all and left a 60 year old couple freezing in their home for the night. Not refunding our money

      Enjoyed our stay on the Riverwalk. Though this particular Marriott is looking a little worn, our room and the hotel itself was very clean. The customer service, in particular Andrea at the valet stand, was incredible. She was helpful in providing insight, advice, and was just so friendly. She even chased after our Lyft with her knee in a brace after it zoomed by us. The people at the lobby desk, and Bistro bartender were also very friendly and went out of their way to greet us.

      Room and other details at the end of this review, but customer service needs to be addressed first. Never have I gotten into an argument with a front desk person before. And this was over TOWELS. So...I booked through Hotels dot com. There were three people in our party (me, my wife, and my 16yo daughter). So, To make the reservation, I put in that we had two adults and one child. The form asked me how old the child was, and I put 16. The site spit out the cost, and I agreed to it and booked the reservation. When we got to the hotel, we find that we had only been left two sets of towels for the three of us. Therefore, I went to the front desk to ask for another set of towels. No biggie, right? That's happened at other hotels before, and the person at the desk usually apologizes with a smile and gets me a towel, then asks if I need anything else. However, at this hotel, the young man at the front desk asked me what room I was in. I told him our room number, and he looked us up in the computer. He said that I only reserved a room for one adult. I told him no, I had booked for two adults and one child. Then he argues with me that my child of 16 is not a child, and that if the child is over 5 years old, the charge would be an extra $10 a night. I said no, that when I booked the reservation, I put in the age of my child, and was was given a price, to which I agreed at the time before I booked. So he argues with me on the definition of a child, and says that my daughter, who is 16 can get her driver's license, so she is an adult. What?? I don't care what his definition of an adult is—the age/price thing was already taken in to consideration when I booked online.* And anyway, what does it matter if she's 16 or 5 or whatever, DOES HER AGE DETERMINE WHETHER SHE CAN HAVE A TOWEL OR NOT? This place is messed up. So, he eventually did get the towel while I was standing there, but he didn't hand me the towel. Instead—without saying anything to me—he left with the towel and took it up to my room and gave it to my daughter in the room. I didn't even know where he went, so I stood at the front desk until he returned. I showed him my reservation on Hotels dot com to show that I didn't book a room for just one adult. He continued to argue with me that my daughter was not a child. Okay... I asked the dude his name, but he wouldn't tell me his name when I asked, so I can only describe him as being from somewhere like Pakistan or India, with a pretty heavy accent. But wait...I just went down to discuss this with him some more, and he wasn't there, so I asked another employee his name and was told, "Oh, his name is Al and HE'S THE OWNER." Really? The OWNER? The owner treats the customer like that? Oh my. What a messed up place this is. If I get home and find an extra charge, somebody else is going to hear about this. So, on to the room.
