We booked this room because the photos looked nice and clean, and the price was low. But immedietly after booking, we got an email that the price was an error and it was actually the price PER PERSON. But then we had been given a "upgrade", so We thought this was a suitable compromise. When we arrived we were greeted in a hostile manner by the owner, who didn't seem to be expecting us even though we had previously informed him. We asked to pay for one night, then tomorrow we would pay the rest, but he refused this, and demanded all the money owed or he would withhold our passport. It was midnight, we were exhausted, so we paid everything. After climbing 3 flights of stairs, WITH NO OFFER OF HELP FROM THE OWNER, I knew this was a bad sign... we arrived at our "deluxe room" and not only had it not been cleaned.... (the toilet wasnt flushed, no fresh bedding, long black hair in the bathroom, stain on bathroom floor) it was far too small to be a triple room. We then asked politely if we could stay one night (it was 1AM at this point) and then check out in the morning, but the owner got very angry and said we either stay 3 nights or immedietely leave. His tone was aggressive ... we felt unwelcomed and were forced with no option but to walk on the dark street. We kindly requested he call us a taxi to another safe hotel, but he refused saying "i dont want to help you - i want to sleep ". So, three young females were left with no safe arrangements for the night. These reviews seem to be fake with very poor english. He cancelled our booking immedietely so we could not write a review on booking.com which is very unfair because we want to warn other travelers.

I think the hostel is quite new. Our dorm had nice beds with curtains, a nightlight and more than one space to charge your things. You also had a locker and even a tv in your room. All looked very new. The bathroom was a standard, asian bathroom with a shower next to the toilet. Staff was really nice but ubfortunately only one person spoke english well. At the moment (low season) the hostel was still quite empty, so when we got up early we had to ask to get out and they did not automatically offer us breakfast (but did when we got back later). They also didn't help with tours get. Bur I think when the hostel is a bit fuller andder has been open for a bit longer it can be great (as the rooms already are). The location is quite nice since it is a 5 minute walk from the party/busy area but it isn't loud at night. To the airport it takes about 30 minutes by car/scooter. To the war museum I walked in 30 minutes.

I arrived on the 17th December and at first impressions, everything was great. The lady on reception was welcoming and checked me in to my room quickly, even though I had arrived quit a bit earlier than the check in time (I had an early morning flight from Hanoi the same day) my room was ready and I was allowed to go straight up. They had a porter took my large and heavy back up to my room for me, which was great. I only stayed for one night, because the next day I had an early morning flight to Bali. In the evening, around 9:30-10pm, I started getting all my things packed up again, as I had a 5am start the next morning, and I realised my passport was missing. I remember handing it over at reception for them to make a copy, and realised that I hadnt received it back. I headed down to reception to retrieve my passport, and was greeted by a very rude lady - a different person to the one that had greeted me in the morning and been so welcoming to me. When I asked for my passport back, she refused and immediately became unnecessarily agressive, and demanded that I give her money for it before it could be returned to me. She insisted again and asked me for 500,000 VND. I again refused to give her the money, and informed her that she had no right to withhold my passport from me, under any circumstances. I told her to go ahead and make a copy, but that I wasn't leaving reception until I had my passport back. I informed her that I was leaving early in the morning to make an international flight, and it was vital that I have my passport with me so that it isn't lost / misplaced / forgotten. Again, she got even angrier and shouted at me, "no money, no passport!". At this point, I certainly wasn't going to back down, but despite her aggression and rudeness, I managed to stay calm and polite during the entire exchange, because I knew she had no legal right to keep my passport. As a long term traveller I'm aware that hotels cannot withhold your passport from you under any circumstances. I informed the woman that the passport was not actually my property, that officially, it belongs to the British Crown - which is true. I also informed her that I was fully aware the foreigners in Vietnam are required to carry photo ID with them at all times, and that the police would be interested to know that my passport was being withheld from me. At that point she realised that she had lost, and literally threw my passport at me and it landed on the reception counter. She then shouted at me, "Go back to your room!". I asked her what the problem was, and she literally yelled, "GO TO YOUR ROOM, GO NOW!" I guess she didn't like the fact that I knew she was wrong and made her look stupid. She knew she was wrong, and I know for a fact that had I needed to get the police to help, they would have certainly made sure she returned the passport to me. A real shame, because the greeting in the morning was lovely, the bag porter was kind and helped me wit

This is a 3 stars hotel, but compare to other 3 stars I stayed at also around the area of Ben Thanh Markets..it’s good only in the room price rating and walking distance to the market(but you must bargain with them with the price). The breakfast could use improvement and cleaning the room could also be improve. Like at Liberty Greenview Hotel at Pham Ngu Lau area, same stars rating but there Breakfast, room cleaning and security is the very very good. The only thing is that their price are high and walking to the market is about 10 minutes walk, depend on how you walking. Even so, it’s like Liberty Hotel is just a block away from Pho Di Bo(Bui Vien).

This concept of serviced apartments is a great alternative to hotels. At $34 USD it was very affordable and the location was perfect. Next to a bank to easily exchange currency, a circle K for last minute necessities and several local restaurants. The room includes the basic toiletries and kitchen accessories (pot and pan, utensils, dish washing detergent, and coffee maker). The front staff will provide you with anything else you need like water, extra towels, extra coffee. And the plus: free laundry. Meaning that after 10 days away I came home with clean laundry! Can't say enough about the staff. Traffic is difficult in Saigon and the valet was always ready to help your taxi get in and out. There is no parking on premises. There is a small cafe at the lobby which I did not go to but I could tell it has some coffee and pastries. I felt safe during my stay in the hotel.

I and my girlfriend went to Sen Boutique House for our short stay (few hours) before our flight at midnight. I definitely agree with the previous reviews that everything inside and outside are very clean, organized and well-decoration. Also, the staff was friendly and helpful. However, the thing made me to leave the review with 3 out of 5 is the operational procedure which we got stuck before. Let’s me tell you the story! Our flight delayed until midnight was a main reason to motivate me to make the reservation via OTA, which named Traveloka and we also had paid in full before checking time around 2 hours. Later, we were present at the hotel around 2.15 PM. Surely, we let the staff know the name of booking and showed her the receipt that we got via email from Traveloka. She checked the system and let us know that there wasn’t any booking under my name in her property manager. And she asked me to wait for her to call to another people who keep in charge the booking. Then, I ask her how long does the system take to check my booking, so we could hang out for cup of coffee instead of waiting too long for it (We definitely know that we made last minute reservation!!!). Sadly, the staff blamed me because of booking late !?!? She also gave us the comparison of the other clients who usually book the accommodations in advance 1-2 weeks! I don’t know the answer of the owners is, but you said like this, please tell me how did you open the property for the last minute booking? Secondly, I also wonder that the notice mentioned about the security deposit 500.000 VND “or” original ID. Why did I have to give both of methods!!! As a person who work in hospitality field, I hope that this procedure will be changed in order to suit the clients in the future.

Very good place. Strongly recommend. The floor in the form of an aquarium is just super. Very friendly staff who are always ready to help. The toilet and shower are located in the room and separated. The disadvantage is the lack of sound insulation. There is a cafe downstairs where people talk loudly even after midnight. Music at the reception late at night. Glass doors to the room, too, do not contribute to sound insulation and privacy. no Windows. Unfortunately, the view of the city is only available to those who stay in mixed dormitories.

This is a charming little guest house, run by the loveliest family. It's down a very narrow alley but it is well signposted. As soon as we arrived we were given a very warm welcome and were given lots of information about Ho Chi Minh City. (The city can be rather overwhelming for the first-time visitor so good to find a haven!) Our room was on the third floor (note, there are no lifts, which may be important if you have a suitcase) and it was basic but lovely. Good size, air conditioned and had a strong but noisy ceiling fan for your more immediate cooling needs. It had a fridge and TV, and the bathroom was clean. Please note, this guest house is in Ho Chi Minh City, and as such you will hear noise from the street - even on the third floor. But it was comfortable for us, and the price for a night is very very good. And, they even sorted out a cab for us, including walking with us to the main street and literally helping us into said cab. Completely over and above our expectations!

Large clean rooms with balconies, friendly and helpful staff. Stayed here for about 2-3 weeks and no problems. Cheap laundry service. 10 minute walk to the big AEON Mall, Circle-K at end of street, many good restaurants nearby. About 70-80k for a Grab bike taxi to District 1 or the airport and 120-180k for a Grab car, takes about 20-50 minutes depending on time of day, Area is great, bit less hectic (and cheaper) than the central districts but still has everything you need.

Stayed at this hotel in room 302. The room was just like the images on hotels.com, large and very clean. The bathroom was also large and clean. The bed was queen size, and while a bit on the hard side, it was acceptable. I did not have issues with noise while I was here. Other than a single mosquito, I had no bug issues. The staff was very friendly and the girl at the counter during the day spoke English fairly well. The girl watching the counter in the evening was less proficient, but we seemed to communicate ok. In the mornings, on the sidewalk just before you get to the hotel, there is a woman selling a mean bowl of Pho, with shrimp and pork and fresh veggies for about $1.50. I would highly recommend you give it a try. The area around the hotel is littered with shops selling hardware items, motorcycle parts, and metal goods. This is not a party area, however, if you can handle a 15min walk, you can easily get to a bunch of tourist hot spots, like the Binh Than market and the Backpacker party area. If you can't handle the walk, taxis are readily available and quite cheap. The staff will arrange transport for you. Getting to the hotel can be a bit of an adventure due to its location. From the airport you can take a taxi or you can be a little more adventurous and take the city bus #109 outside the airport to the final stop "23/9 park" in the city center. From here you can either walk about 10min or take a cheap taxi.

My family and me stayed in The Hut for three nights and we had a really good time there. The hotel is very modern and decorated in a bit of an industrial style with some basic but interesting elements. Let's say with a motto "Less is more". The hotel does not have a typical reception because when you enter it is actually a cafe and upstairs there are rooms. So you are welcomed actually at the cashier of the cafe. First thought that crossed my mind was that it could be noisy up there but it was not and the cafe was closed at 10 or 11 pm . The cafe is really nice and cosy and I liked having breakfast and coffee there. Speaking about the breakfast, I think they should improve one thing, if they haven't so far. You can pay for breakfast while staying in this accommodation. But the problem is that sometimes you do not have options what to choose for breakfast but what is left. One day it happened that we wanted a tuna or a chicken sandwich but there weren't any left, actually only muffins were left. I think they should ask the day before what you were going to eat the following day (ranging some choices) and then they order or make your choice for you for breakfast. As the majority of amenities did while we were travelling throughout Vietnam. The room was nice but not so big and you cannot open the window, there is just an air condition. Sometimes I felt the lack of fresh air but we opened the door from time to time to get fresh air. In our room there was no ordinary bathroom. Te toilet and the shower were separate and the wash basin was the part of the room. It may seem awkward but it is ok and modern , in a way. It was clean and the bed comfortable. The street is not very noisy nor crowded so the sleep quality was fine. It is good value for money and I felt fine and safe there.

I always stayed district one but this time have the family with me. Because of the ‘12 and under free’ policy, we picked La Regatta over another hotel we initially shortlisted. We stayed in a Deluxe room; all the decor in the room and lobby looked exactly the same like photos.we really like the modern clean lines and design, refreshing from saigon’s standard hotels. The price point was right, so it wasn’t hard to choose this over the older hotels. We booked on Agoda and paid $80 usd for 2 nights, including taxes and breakfasts. We had 2 adults and 2 kids under 12. The floors are so clean - the housekeeping boy would remove his shoes before stepping in so we followed suit, like in someone’s house. The kitchenette has the basic utensils and cookware - pots, pan, cutlery for 2. The room comes with 2 free bottles of water but not the ones inside the fridge. If I were alone, I’d stay at Pham Ngu Lao for the convenience and access to all the tourist stuff. From La Regatta, we were able to walk to the war remnants Musuem but I wouldn’t do that again. We cabbed to Pham ngu lao to buy a tour trip to cuchi tunnel as it’s a fraction from what the agencies quoted in the flyers we found at the hotel. It’s in a quiet district. The staff were wonderful. Hong, the receptionist was so helpful, even printed a Vietnamese cheat sheet for me to revise my rusty Vietnamese. Ly was a really sweet young lady who loved her job and was very sharp to respond to all my inquiries. The security guard was a charming older gentleman who showed some magic card tricks to my kids. He was always polite and friendly and ready to help us get into the taxis. The guy who checked out out, Nam, spoke excellent English and was kind in helping us get our cab to the airport. My favorite staff in the hotel is Loi, the housekeeping boy. He was very attentive, serviced with a huge smile on his face and even fixed my hand carrier that had a small tear. He and another housekeeping boy made us feel welcomed and settled in even when we checked in at 2 in the morning. We recommend this hotel to those who enjoy a quieter area away from the hustling bustling district 1. The only thing we would do different next time we book is to reserve without breakfast as it’s much cheaper to just walk outside the hotel (literally 10 steps away) to purchase our noodle soup. The breakfasts provided by the hotel come from the same stalls, except they are dressed in nicer bowls and presented in nice table setting and you get to enjoy in the hotel lobby.
