|8.09km from city centerI reserved a room for this hotel online. After driving 9 hours to get there, I arrived to a hotel under renovation. When I arrived, it appeared that the office area was taped off with yellow caution tape with no way in. I walked around looking for a way in and found a small opening in the tape where I could get into the office. There were 3 women behind the desk. When I said I had a reservation, they rudely informed me they had no reservations for that night, and that I had been billed a no show for the previous night! When I showed them my confirmation email, they told me I had to call the booking agent. I called the booking agent who refunded the 'no show' charge and confirmed my reservation for this night. With me on hold, the booking agent called the hotel and spoke to the manager. The manager rudely refused to honor my reservation price and said I would have to make a new reservation with a higher price! At that point, the booking agent canceled my reservation and issued an immediate refund. I was treated so rudely by the manager with NO APOLOGIES OFFERED!!! Since major renovations were underway, with the office almost completely taped off, they should not have even been open for business. I have NEVER had a worse experience at any hotel I give the hotel and the manager 0 stars!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

The hotel room is very neat and very clean. Room is in pleasant, bright colors. Pictures complete the good first impression.
Some things make a very high-quality impression, for example the faucet in the bathroom. I missed a USB plug, which is more and more often placed in lamps or next to the bed to charge the cell phone.
The only, but big point of criticism was the breakfast. I looked for coffee cups in vain. I had to ask the staff twice until it was noticed that the disposable cups were used up. Coffee very good. The selection is not very large, comparably much less than in comparable hotels. The orange juice was very negative, probably a cheap product, also with an aftertaste. After it is now common, there are no hot, instead only ”warm” scrambled eggs. Only these were not even warm, in the spectrum between warm and cold rather cold to be counted and therefore hardly to be enjoyed.
Since the breakfast can not be rated separately, I have to think about what my rating should be. Because certainly hotel guests without breakfast are well accommodated here.

|0.82km from city centerWe stayed at the HIX 5190 Motel Court on Saturday, September 25th 2021. At checkin there were no luggage carts. Lady behind the counter said people were leaving them in their rooms. They need to handle this. They could find out who it was and ban them from staying again. They need to track the carts. Too easy to fix. Then, at 6pm I tried to take a shower. No hot water. The hotel only has a handful of guests in the hotel at this moment because almost everyone there was going to a function of some sort. I checked my faucet the next morning, still no hot water. I have been staying there on our trips for nine years, now I'm going to stay in Pascagoula or Daphne.

The rooms are slightly dated, but for the price and surrounding hotels this is the best option. I stay in hotels 3 nights a week and this is not a bad option, I enjoyed the breakfast and the coffee was great.

|7.5km from city centerI stayed here Tuesday 7-19-2022 and the Room could not have been better. I had a King Size Single Room on the 3rd floor. I was checked in by an attractive very pleasant woman from India. Folks I have seen negatives reviews for this hotel but I have to speak truth. My Room was impeccably clean and everything worked. Refrigerator, T.V., and AC and the Ice Machine etc. I don't have to tell anyone about the Heat Wave in the United States. When I checked in it was 100 Degrees outside. Inside my room it was Cold!!!!! I could not have asked for more. I had an excellent stay at this Hotel. I am going back next week. Great Hotel!!!!

|8.96km from city centerWe needed a place to stay as we traveled from the East coast to San Antonio, Texas. The hotel is right off of the highway and has a gas station nearby. Friendly staff helped us book the room over the phone as we drove, and they were very pleasant for check in. The double Queen room was spacious enough for our family of four, and we had plenty of room to set up our pack n play for the baby. Fridge kept our food and drinks cool. The hotel issues Dove products for shampoo, conditioner, etc. Good pressure in the shower. I melted into the bed….so comfy! We heard a train right before we went to bed, but we only heard it once. Would recommend.

Jovonni was great,he made sure we got the best price and when we arrived he even remembered my name. So pleasant and helpful. And then Cheyenne was just as awesome when we checked out. Oh and the breakfast was good too!

Every hotel in that area has treated us like they could care less if we were there or not and even canceled on us for no reason. It was nice to be welcomed by our great front desk person who smiled (even though she wasn't feeling her best) and helped us with every question and need. They even let me sit up front with no hassle till my uber arravied (after checkout) for my flight.. The owner and/or manager and family/employees were all hard at work everytime I saw them with smiles nomatter the situation. I felt very much at home and would love to book again.

This is in a good location, just a min from the highway. Very clean place with friendly staff. They have ATM and computer in their business center. They even have a pantry where they sell snacks, drinks and ice cream etc. which I normally don’t see in many hotels. Even though they didn’t have any breakfast due to Covid-19, they offer free coffee and juice. Room itself was very spacious and beds were very comfortable. Overall I’m so glad that I stayed here and wished I had stayed here more often over the years. Anyway I will definitely stay here again.

The service was very good, talked with the manager and other staff were really kind and willing to attend to any request. The new room was so relaxing, also liked the amenities with fresh coffee in the morning. I recommend my coworkers stay at this new Econo Lodge while there are in the area.

The bed was nice and firm, I have a bad back, but the pillows were worthless. Overall a decent stay. They must have a shortage of parking because they allow guests, visitors or whomever to park in front of the hotel for extended periods of time including in the evening which is a busy time for checking in. Also in the morning when checking out. All vehicles involved were Alabama licensed which makes you wonder if they were a paying guest.

|8.13km from city centerAfter having just stayed at a horrible Red Roof Inn (Harvey, Louisiana…..see my other review); this was a 100% improvement, and the type of excellence that I am accustomed to when staying at Red Roof Inns. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, and the grounds were well kept. There was even a small breakfast available in the lobby, although I just had the orange juice. Checking in, and out; went very smoothly too! The Manager’s name is actually Prince, and he made guests feel welcome in his Red Roof Castle. Even my two pet (service animal) rabbits enjoyed their stay, so I’ll give it a top rating of two rabbit ears up!! (\ (\ ( -.-) o_(“)(“)

After reading reviews and looking at the location (which was very close to the venue), I went with the Candlewood. It was very nice, especially for the cost. There was a mini kitchen in the room with a full sized refrigerator, two stove burner, a microwave, and a sink. The bathroom was ver nice and had a walk in shower with sliding glass doors. My room had a great view of downtown. Oh and the mattresses ..... oh my gosh! I was tempted to take the covers off to see the brand! They were so cozy and comfortable. Also, the staff was so great! Matthew is who I spoke to at the front desk and he was absolutely phenomenal! I will definitely be booking a room here again when I travel to Mobile.

|8.71km from city centerI typically don't leave bad reviews of hotels, but I was very disappointed by my stay at this Holiday Inn. The lobby and restaurant area were nice. However, the elevator and the hallways had a musty odor and were stuffy. Either they don't have air in the hallways or just don't turn it on. The carpet on all floors are stained and need to be cleaned. Both headboards in the room were discolored, appears to be bleach. Upon inspecting the sheets on one of the beds, the sheets were stained and one of the pillow cases. I had to request new sheets. The bathroom had ants and the vent was very dusty. I would have went to another hotel, but all hotels in the area were booked as I was there for a basketball tournament.

Friendly and accommodating staff that moved me to an even nicer bigger room when my original room type didn't have a refrigerator. All with a smile. The room was spacious clean and a comfortable mattress. 5 to 10 minutes from food shopping and the airport. The price was reasonable for an airport hotel. And I didn't hear any planes.

|8.83km from city centerCould have been perfect. First the positive, it was nice and comfortable stayed 2 nights. Second morning I called down for towels , wash cloths and coffee. It was 8:40am. She said housekeeping doesn’t come in until 9:30 ? But that I could come down and get them. Get to the desk and she’s in her phone, I wait a bit and when I finally say hello she looks up. Ask for them again and she says she can give me what she has. Hands me 4 hand towels, I ask can she give me actual towels and she proceeds to say she doesn’t have any wash cloths or towels. I say , can you go get some please and she goes into a room by the desk and says she doesn’t have any. She sees another lady who appears to me to be housekeeping , she goes into a room again and says they don’t have any , I said well can I get some out of an empty room please!? We need to shower. She hesitantly starts to go up to a room I assume. Then I told the front desk lady “ I’m sorry but this is unacceptable. This is a hotel, it’s 9am and people need to shower “ she says they were booked and that’s why they have no towels. She then gives me pool towels!! Unacceptable on all levels! The breakfast also sucked.

|0.49km from city centerMy husband & I recently spent 5 nights in a 1 king bed 1 bedroom suite. When we travel we usually don't stay in chain hotels and assumed it would just be a place to sleep. We were wrong. Everyone was friendly. The breakfast was what I expected but the friendly attitude made it a fun place to go each morning. We also enjoyed relaxing with a cup of tea/coffee in the area after a day of exploring. The front desk was friendly greeting us each time we came back in. Housekeeping was every other day or as requested (which were all honored in a timely fashion). Convenient downtown location for sightseeing. Not being a fan of southern cooking a Greer's supermarket was a 10 minute walk away. The room had a wrap around terrace and was quiet. Glad we stayed and will do so again if we return to Mobil.

|3.49km from city centerI tried to like it. It was clean and the room was spacious. There where bell carts but the hotel was for road construction crews. When I walked in, there was no one at the desk. I called hello, hello, hello. We had been driving all day and just wanted to get into our room. 5 mins later she finally came and said “I was in with my supervisor” so she must have heard me and I would think that she may peak around the corner and say “I’ll be right with you”? I went back out and there where 2 young men who I thought where fighting, F this, F that very loud. I was very hesitant. They came by our vehicle and seemed to be getting along. We went out that night to potty dogs and there where 2 drinking parties. One at the hotel across the street and behind this hotel. Did I ever feel threatened? No, not at all. Men having social time and partying. Also, the parking was limited for us with a small 4 x 6 trailer. The room was good size, cloths hanging was an opened bar with hangers. There was one chair next to a desk and the bed was so soft that you sink into it so very hard to sit in bed on an iPad without your back hurting. We are use to a harder mattress. The pillows where great. Very small sink space in the restroom and no suit case holder. Not sure what they are called. One pack of regular coffee and one decaf. I know we could have asked for another and we just went down in the am to get it from their coffee bar which was great but inconvenient. Like I said, we look at our ipad a lot on the bed but since we sunk 3”’s on the bed a 2nd chair would have been nice. There was plenty of area in the room for a chair. The hotel was set up for these road crews who have a back packs. We won’t stay here again. It was doable as a stop for the night but not with those mattress’s. Like I said I tried to like it.

|8.08km from city centerBLACK MOLD IN BATHROOM!!! Checked in after all of the ”great” reviews. Lobby was nicely updated but very heavily perfumed. Went to the room flipped the light switch which only turned on one dim light. Turned o the bathroom light and there was a large spit of black mold on the wall next to the tub that looks like it had been painted over many times. We left immediately and went to ask for a refund. The man behind the desk was very unconcerned about me saying they had black moldand ieven tried showing him the picture I took. He said please let me get you a new room and you can inspect it before. I had no intention of staying but he said please just check. We went..and he shows us the room rightness to the one with the black mold... I thought he was kidding. I said the room with mold is right next door.He said but no mold in this room. We asked for a refund and I reported them to the Mobile health department. This hotel has also hanged hands 3 times in the last year. So bad..

Baymont gets the comparison test this trip - I’m comparing Baymont, Enid Oklahoma with Baymont Mobile - #1, I didn’t get my Special Request for: Ground floor, corner, king, near exit, but I got to park in front of my 2nd floor room. Mobile on Saturday night had a lot of commotion. Good job Baymont Mobile. Keep partying, 5 hotels until return trip!
