A wonderful place to stay! My only problem was with the self-check-in kiosk - and this was my fault, not theirs. Oh, and it took me a little bit to figure out that the room key card goes into that slot by the door, in order to turn on the electricity. There isn't ever any staff in the office, or anywhere to be found, so if you have problems with the check-in kiosk, you're out-of-luck, standing there with your bags, panicking a little...at least I sort of started to panic... For some reason, while doing the self-check-in, I had difficulty finding "United States of America" on the LONG list of countries. It wasn't down in the U's, as one would expect. I forget where I finally did find it - it was somewhere near the middle - but my advice is to just take this part slowly and look through the ENTIRE list until you find it and don't panic like I did. Anyway, I got kicked out of the kiosk system a couple times and had to start all over again. I had already swiped my credit card before getting past this glitch, so for several days it showed multiple charges on my account for the room, but finally it sorted itself out and I was only actually charged once for the room. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable, but bare bones - no microwave or refrigerator. And it is very close (a 5 minute walk ) to the train station. The hotel is located next to the train line, but the rooms are very soundproof. I don't recall being disturbed at all by train noise. Awesome coffee and croissants for breakfast.

Stayed here on a 2 week business trip. I had the luxury of being on the top floor which was quiet and offered a great view of the surroundings. The hotel is central and a 3 minute walk from the train station and bus station. Trust me, you wouldn’t even know they were there. It’s sedate. Each room has a balcony with storm shutters which gives you the added privacy and ability to sit outside ( if you are a smoker or simply want fresh air). The shutters allow protection from the elements ( storms a plenty during my trip). Breakfast offers a great variety of choices and it’s tranquil and peaceful with the breakfast room overlooking the roof garden. Uster is a little gem of a place with easy access to Zürich or Uster itself provides plenty of cafes and restaurants if you want to stay local. A river walk down to the Greifensee is well worth it especially as the route takes you through a cattle farm as when I was there, lots of calfs had been born.

This is on the industrial area of Zürich about half an hour away from the airport. Uster station is about 1.5 km away and there is some life in the evenings only here. It’s well connected by bus no 811 with about 4+ francs for a return trip. The ATM also is only here. Near to the apartment you have aldi Suisse super market nearby which is open between 7.30 to 8 pm where you can buy your coffee sachets. The apartment has super fast internet, washing machine, kettle (across Europe this is rare, since they don’t have the habit of bed coffee I guess), dryer, iron box and board, a good pedestal fan, heaters and balcony to sit out and a breakfast counter which opens early at 6.30 am. The balcony door has the option of keeping the door slanting with the bottom firmly in place if the handle is at the top. When handle is in the middle then the door opens. This is found across Zürich primarily to give ventilation during summers. The bathroom windows to have the same feature. The track is behind the apartment and the regular train service noise goes well into the night and starts early morning. There is a namesake reception which opens only when guest check in and it gets closed after that. But they are very helpful even when they speak only German.

Stayed two nights here and have to say I was a bit shocked at quite how "no frills" it was! The apartments are within a residential block on a busy main road within a light industrial/business area. There are reserved parking places outside the apartments but they are all chargeable. There is nowhere legal to park for free within walking distance of the apartments. While checking in with my access code someone from the Bar downstairs started hassling me to pay them the extortionate parking charge of 15 CHF per day - not the best welcome! The room was clean and spacious but the only items provided for guests were some towels and a couple of miniature shower gels. No soap, no fridge, no cups, no crockery, no kitchen whatsoever. So apart from the bar downstair, you have to drive somewhere if you want to get anything to eat or drink. Other residents are leaving their milk and food on the window sills outside to keep them fresh. On a positive side the TV, shower and furniture was good. The heating was fine as well. Overall it was just too basic to be enjoyable.
