We spent one night here in June. Its a very nice apartment connected to the city walls in the heart of the city of Arezzo. The apartment has two balconies with beautiful views of both Arezzo and the Tuscan hills. The owner was very welcoming and helpful and gave some great advice for visiting his city. The only problem we had was that there wasn't any air conditioning and the fan kept turning off. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend it!

The location on corso Italia is not the same as listed in the pictures.. reading other review I was skeptical but this location turned out to be better than expected.. There is an elevator, which apparently is new and made the second floor hospitable.. This was a great set up for our family (3 kids and my wife), large enough where everyone had space to breath. Location is central arezzo and perfect imo. There is not a cafeteria at this locale but they do have cleaning service. Our stay included breakfast, which you get at Vasari cafe in piazza grande. The breakfast is typical Italian and exactly what I expected. I would recommend this for families on a budget.

I Bei Ricordi translates to "lovely memories", an apt description if ever there was one. The apartment is located one short block from corson Italia, Arezzo's main street and within easy walking distance to all sights, restaurants, and shopping in the old city. There is no sign outside, so you need to go by the address to locate the building. The apartment we stayed in had two large bedrooms, a sitting area, and a fully equipped kitchen. While this suited my wife and I well, I think the space would be perfect for a family as well. The only caution I'd offer is that reaching the apartment did require walking up a couple of flights of stairs. Unlike a hotel, there is no front desk nor concierge. However, our hosts, the Nespolos, were a delightful and gracious family and incredibly helpful in every way. And, also unlike a hotel, we are leaving Arezzo with them as new friends. Arezzo is a beautiful town, and not so overrun with tourists to have lost the feeling of being in Italy. There is bus service to the surrounding hill towns providing the option for several day trips. If your travels bring you to this delightful part of Italy, and particularly if you plan to stay for a few days or longer, you will want to seriously consider staying at I Bei Ricordi.

Yes the location is right off the Grand Piazza. End of story. The listing says they have parking. Not! You can be directed to a local free lot. But this is Italy, you think it is available? Drive to the paid lot at the train station. False advertising. Booking and the hotel should be charged but again we are in Italy where this is the norm. The room is good sized. The noise level is high all night with the bells from the Cathedral and people walking up the stairs. The hotel says don’t leave a bad review due to no lift but if you don’t want a negative review about it say you may get a fourth floor room with no lift so be prepared to carry your bags from 10 days in Italy up four flights. Be prepared to not have anyone answer the buzz at the entrance. They might be watching tv in the lounge. We let others in as they stood in cold also wondering where to park car and how to get to room. Now the fun part: the heating and hot water didn’t work. The tank dripped all night. The woman who checked us in was useless and when we asked to leave our bags to park car she would prefer we didn’t as most that come for one or two nights only have small bags. What?? I can’t give this less than one star so that is what they get.

This hotel is a great option for those visiting Arezzo. The hotel is right in the middle of the action, however it is on the 4th floor so there was no noise at night which made for some great sleeping. Getting there is super easy as well. It is literally 5 minutes (by foot) from the train station or upon entering by car. There is an elevator if one doesn't want to exercise, but we choose the stairs. The staff are ALL fantastic and extremely helpful with things to do, places to see and restaurants to eat at. Beatrice, Enrico and Jessica are awesome. They were extremely helpful, kind, courteous and professional (and fun). Also, the breakfast is fantastic and Jessica makes a mean cappuccino (or 3 like we had ever morning)!! Would stay here again anytime and I highly recommend this hotel in the absolutely stunning and GORGEOUS city of Arezzo!!

The rooms are named after musicians and they each have a quirky feature or two like a bathtub in the room or a shower with glass panel with blinds (seemly stick open) to the bedroom. Internet worked but a bit slow — fine for a night’s stay working way back from Umbria towards Florence airport. Breakfast was fine but pretty basic. Good coffee. Juice. Boiled eggs. And a modest buffet. Just one cold cut, a few cheeses, a few roll types, some fruit, two cereals, etc. It would be boring on day two. Central. Near shopping and dining. Parking lot around corner — first left if you are coming from the railway station. This is not a four star hotel by any means but the bed was fine, the shower had three different streams and the price was fine. Staff friendly upon check-in. PS My son‘s room had an AC unit that would stay on only for thirty seconds at a time. A call to front desk yielded no joy but a late night visit led to its restoration. It seems there’s central control. PSS I checked in before my wife arrived. Her arrival and issuance of a second key then switched mine off. Had to double back to desk to get it restored.

I have to say I was very disappointed with my 4 night stay at this hotel while I was working nearby. On arrival I asked if there was anywhere I could park and was told by the receptionist that "the hotel has a private garage for 10 euros a day". After I checked in he told me that the porter would show me the way to the garage. The porter took me outside and pointed to some traffic lights in the distance, across the huge roundabout outside the hotel. I followed his instructions and ended up in the city's municipal underground car park, which is a fair distance from the hotel and not very large. I had to wait around for quite a while until someone left and left a space for me to park my car. Not ideal when you have finished a days work to hope for a car parking space when you get there and then have to walk some way to the hotel. Once in the hotel the room was very small, decorated like something from a distant past and not very clean. The shower was just about adequate, with hardly the room to swing a cat and the bed was small and uncomfortable. The general ambience in the place was quite depressing and the hotel in general is in need of a serious upgrade to bring it into the modern world. There is nowhere to eat in the restaurant and the breakfast was as disappointing as the rest of the hotel. No hot food, just the usual continental style buffet but not one that appealed to me. I ate breakfast elsewhere every morning. The breakfast room was huge and I cannot understand why they do not use it as a proper restaurant and give guests the opportunity to eat in after a days work, without the need to walk around the city looking for somewhere to eat. I am always disappointed when I have to leave a bad review but unfortunately I feel that this hotel leaves me no choice after a very disappointing experience of staying there. Never again, unless they do something about the decor, comfort and cleanliness in order to offer their guests a much needed, improved experience.

This small hotel occupies the 5th and 6th floor of an apartment block just one minutes walk from the station. It’s on the left hand side of the Via Guido Monaco as you leave the station. Avis is on the corner and it’s a few doors up, before the supermarket. This detail is given as we walked past it as there is no big hotel sign. We rang the bell and Elena welcomed us in. At reception she told and showed us the facilities, the small dining room , where you choose you buffet breakfast and the terrace where you could eat it. Great view. There is a fridge, so you can buy food and drink and keep it fresh. Our air conditioned room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. There are no frills but this is a great venue for a few nights stay to explore this really ancient and quite lovely Italian city. Elena was a perfect host and recommended things to do and a great local restaurant to eat at. Many thanks.

I stayed in the "bridge" room on the top floor. Pros: In a good location on a main piazza at the base of the centro storico in Arezzo. The A/C was super, and the bathroom seems to have been recently been redone and has a strong power-shower. The terrace is large and has a nice view of the city. There are two lounge chairs and a sun shade as well as some nice planters. The Wi-Fi was free and worked well. Cons: This room is the only room on an upper floor. You must go up and down a very narrow winding staircase to reach the room. The duvet had some stains on it and smelled of sweat (in need of washing). The small TV is mounted from the ceiling in the center of the room so that you walk into it constantly. Towels are old and scratchy. There were some ants in the room. The jacuzzi tub had some red (nail polish?) and black scuff marks in it that should be scrubbed off but otherwise was clean. There is a small cafe-type table with two uncomfortable metal chairs in the room. The wardrobe is tiny. Cars and parking: The recommended car park is very near the hotel (Parking Cadorna - less than two blocks). There is no place to legally stop in front of the hotel to unload baggage. I left my car in the outdoor car park for 3 days, and it was fine. Safety: FYI, the B&B is unattended for about 12 hours overnight (approximately 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.). You receive a set of 4 keys when you check in: 1) Key to the front door of the building at the street level, 2) key to the elevator, 3) key to the door into the hotel (if you take the stairs up 4 flights) and 4) your room key. I did not feel unsafe here, but some solo travelers might.

The Minerva Hotel is located outside of the ancient city walls of Arezzo, but easy to reach and with free parking. The hotel is a quite ugly block building and has an old fashioned ambiance inside. Nevertheless the room and especially the bath room were spacious and saw some recent renovations. We were accommodated on a higher floor, which felt quite lofty and breakfast was up to common Italian standards as well. For a short stay it is a good option as it is also in walking distance to the historic town centre. If you like to know more about the hotel and the area around see also traveltreasuresbymarion - otherwise the Minerva hotel is a good option for a shorter city stay, although it is rather a business than a leisure hotel.

Room and bathroom were a good size and very clean and comfortable. There is also a good amount of free parking at the hotel. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed but we were told we could order room service. There was a menu in our room so we picked our food and rang reception. They didn't answer so we tried a few minutes later. Still no answer so my partner went down to reception. He was told that the menu we had was incorrect so the only options were a caprese salad and a couple of sandwich options which was disappointing after seeing the other menu. We visited in February so a fairly cold time of year but our room was very warm when we went in so we turned the AC off and opened a window. By the time we wanted to sleep the room was still quite warm. Having the window open meant a lot of noise from the main roads nearby so we pulled the curtain over and had the window open slightly. A couple hours later we woke up really hot so we tried to put the AC on but on cold. We couldn't figure this out so had to pull the curtain back and have the window wide open, letting in a lot of noise. As it was the middle of the night we didn't want to get staff up to help but this is just a warning to make sure you get to grips with how the AC works before you go to sleep!

A fantastically restored building with lots of eyes for details. If you like design, peace, tranquility, friendly people, good and honest (biological) food, this really is the place you want to be. The estate itself is hidden behind a beautifully styled bronze gate. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Chiara and her colleagues and after a quick tour around the property, we were shown to our spacious room which was beautiful, styled with rustic colors and it has a nice and quiet patio outside. Big and comfortable bed, bath and big bathroom and shower. Climate in the room is very pleasant due to the combination with floor cooling. First night we had dinner at Cuprena and what a treat this was! Organic cooking and all the ingredients are so fresh!!! All the products are grown in the garden with love and that’s exactly what you can taste... Besides that, Chef is really a magnificent cook and designs very special dishes with extraordinary combinations. Really a very, very good restaurant! The same experience you will have at breakfast: all the bakery is freshly made, and the organic and pure taste of everything is delicious. This is our secret, so do not tell anyone else :-) A special mention is the infinity pool with small cabanas around it. A place we’re you will come to rest, read a book, enjoy a nice glass of wine and have some prosciutto. True dolce vita! We are so sad we had to leave Cuprena after spending 5 nights at this wonderful small boutique hotel. Everything you wish for, Chiara and her staff will organize for you. She really gives you the feeling of being her most special guest and that really makes a difference. Big compliment for that! Grazie mille dear Chiara and colleagues for giving us this extraordinary remembrance! PS This is a place for couples and not so much for kids.

My family and I spent almost a full week at this beautiful hotel in July. It is a small family hotel. The people who worked there made us feel welcome and the service was amazing, nothing was a problem. I was going out to take pictures in Tuscany and asked if the restaurant could prepare a meal for me fast, so I would not miss the best light. This was no problem. The rooms where spacious, had a refrigerator, and a safe, and air-condition. The breakfast where outside in the beautiful garden, and was typical Italian, but also had some things for us Norwegians like bred and not only cake. If it rains, I guess the breakfast is inside the restaurant. Therefore, it will never be a problem. In the garden area, there was also a beautiful pool, with sunbeds, where we could relax. The restaurant was a real gem, we had dinner there several times the weather was nice so they had tables outside. The best meal we had was my father’s birthday dinner. It was the Bistecca Alla Fiorentina, which is a large T-bone steak. It was really really good. They also gave my father a birthday cake on the house. I also tried other dishes and they were all good. Parking for the rental car was free and they had roof over the parking spaces so the car would not get so overheated inside in the Tuscan heat. The hotel is a little outside Arezzo, but it’s not far away with a rental car, or taxi. A tip for finding the hotel is putting in Equestrian Centre that was easier for the gps to find, if you find that there are sign leading you to the hotel. I also want to thank the Receptionist Stefania, she was really service minded, always had a smile and where welcoming. If I ever return to this area, I will stay at this hotel again. It was good value for the money to.
