1.98km from Grizzly BarWe came by car using the ferry from Stockholm and used this relatively new hotel as starting and ending point of a two-weeks trip through Russia. We very much appreciated the friendly reception, the safe car parking place, and the well-equipped rooms.Internet worked well, and trips to the center by taxi and Metro are easy. The kitchen operates until late and serves decent food even though you cannot expect a top notch restaurant. To sum up: commendable.

2.33km from Grizzly BarThis was the last stop of a 12 day tour and it was by far the worst hotel we stayed in. We arrived quite late at night (as a group of 16) and the service we received could not have been worse. Unhelpful, sulky and grumpy are the words best used to describe it. Nothing offered on arrival - not water, no open bar, nothing. The rooms feel like they have not been refurbished since the Brehznev years and the smell of disinfectant and ammonia in the corridors is overwhelming. The rooms are very hot and there is no air-conditioning. I had one tiny half-pillow on a big double bed. Tired and in need of a refurb overall. The breakfasts were the worse we had had so far - dull, basic. Before we left, the service did improve. Tatyana at reception more than made up for the surly man we met on the first night, and the bar staff were very accommodating. Seriously in need of a face lift - the broken down cars in the parking lot do not add to the ambiance at all. I have recommended to the tour company that they take this hotel off the itinerary. It is way outside of town and dab in the middle of a residential area. The subway is quite close though but other than that there are no interesting bars or restaurants. Once you are in the hotel, that's it! As a final warning, their wifi password system is weird - do not just take the password they give you; you have to have it activated at reception. The angry man at reception neglected to tell us this.

2.43km from Grizzly BarBreakfast is very simple, bread ham sausage coffee, but there is no problem with eating (I 181 weight 160). Extra beds are not allowed and are suitable for children. It is hard to find, because it is family-style, and asked the road talents to know. Staying a bit hot in the summer, St. Petersburg has 30 degrees in the summer, there are many heating facilities in the room but it seems that there is no air conditioning and it is very hot at night.

Hotels Near Vayo In Saint Petersburg Review
The best hostel I have ever visited. Very nice receptionists. Very clean, warm and comfortable. I advise everyone who plans a trip to St. Petersburg to stay here. Nearby there is a market, restaurants and bars. This is the center of the city and this is an important criterion.
Agree with all daggle’s comments. Had the same initial problem wth keys and courtyard door but staff very helpful even late at night. Made our own way from airport via bus and metro but can phone/email hotel in advance if need a taxi ( French couple charged exhorbinate price for airport taxi when the receptionist would have booked one to meet them at a much reduced cost). Bright airy room cleaned daily and had everything we needed. Ok the gated area, stairs and lift are not 3star but similar to those in any other Russian apartment block.Great value. Look out for good restaurant Toscana on the corner of the street and use as guide to find hotel for the first time. Enjoy your stay we certainly did.
I stayed at the Karelinn hotel with my wife and 9 month old son. We had a room with a kitchenette which was a big plus because we had a place to wash his bottles and warm up food before and after each touring day. The service was excellent. The receptionist helped with finding a taxi with a baby seat, getting a crib for the room and small things like ordering a pizza etc. The room was relatively big which was nice for my son as he had a space to crawl around in. The location was pretty good too with Cafe's and restaurants at walking distance and a grocery store right next door. A bus stop right outside the hotel helped us to get to the main attraction in the city. The room was clean and on the first floor so getting into the room with a baby stroller was only 5 steps away. The hotel rooms are inside a gated area that requires a code to enter which gives a feeling of security.
The main entrance doesn't reflects the hotel offer. My room was big, clean and very functional. The hotel location is great and close to the train station and the metro. The staff is friendly and the hotel facilities are good enough for someone that is looking for a clean place to sleep. The unique issue that I had was the room location, it was facing the street and unfortunately is not sound proof so friday night was a little bit hard to sleep because there is a bar right next door and people use to smoke on the street so people's voice and laughs were loud enough to make my night rough even the fact that I was in the 2nd floor
We stayed last year 2018January this small hotel. We got a perfect room service and the receptionist was very helpful as well. The hotel is in a good location. If we gonna visit our friends here again, we definitely choose this hotel again 😉
Hotel is an amazing deal at the given cost. It's an only 10-minute walk away from downtown and Hermitage Museum. Staff is very friendly too.
The hotel is very comfortable and extremely clean. The room was small but very cozy and welcoming! Breakfast made a lasting impression! Each guest could choose from a wonderful menu a light hot dish, which is prepared exactly for the time convenient for the guest. Most of all, the staff amazed us! All young ladies working there were very kind and sincerely sympathetic, always tried to help! During the trip, we fell ill, and for us, they did everything possible, even something that was not at all their responsibility! We are very grateful for such a warm attitude and we are pleased to recommend this hotel to everyone who visits St. Petersburg! Among other things, the location of the hotel is just perfect!
A friend and I recently stayed for 2 nights. Our room was small, but comfortable and very clean. We appreciated the heated bathroom floor for our January visit. Breakfast was included and it was excellent. You can order a main course and type of coffee from the menu and then add from the small buffet (croissants, breads, granola, yogurt, cottage cheese, butter and jams, salad fixings). We loved the fresh squeezed orange juice. Faces is located just steps away from the Hermitage end of Nevsky Prospekt street, close to St. Isaacs Cathedral and the Hermitage. We had ordered twin beds, and they were on the small side (not what we North Americans would call a twin) but rather more cot-sized. For us not a problem, but for someone with a large build, a bit small. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel based on value, location and cleanliness.
We have stayed here many times. It is actually a Bible College and Conference Center that serves a dual purpose as hotel. It is gated and fenced with round the clock security guards. The rooms are simple but adequate. Small sove, microwave, fridge, much as you would expect in married student housing at a small university. Very quiet. It is in within walking distance of one of the main metro/subway lines, shopping and restaurants .
Everything was just perfect. The hotel was small but really comfortable and the staff were really kind and helpful. The room was lovely and the bathroom incredibly clean. The breakfast was really good too, with a whole variety of choices.
It was not the first time we chose this hotel for a few days off in St. Petersburg. The staff is super nice, always ready to help any time of the day! The service is amazing. They have a delicious restaurant and room service is fast and convenient. We had breakfast there every day and enjoyed it so much! It’s always delicious with a wide range of food to choose from! Also, during the pandemic the hotel feels extremely safe to stay in! All the necessary recommendations are being followed. It’s very clean. The hotel is also extremely stylish: starting from the modern hall with amazing lighting and comfortable beautiful chairs, ending with bathrooms and rooms that are beautiful! The place is located in the city center, so you can walk around most beautiful streets of SPB. Near the hotel you’ll find a Summer Garden. Because of the good location of the hotel - the taxi everywhere is rather cheap. And you can avoid most of the traffic! Highly recommend!
A hotel in the very center of the city for a perfect price. Personnel is very friendly, works accurately and is always ready to serve the guests. Rooms are rather small but well equipped and very clean. A perfect starting place for the die hard city-trippers visiting this wonderfull city. In front the mall "Gostinny Dvor" (best and safest place to buy souvenirs), metro and buses stop in front. Restaurants in the neighbourhood. All that comes with a very good price. Reception manned night and day. Knowing the city very well I recommend this hotel.
I've been to St. Petersburg many times and this is the best affordable hotel here, close to the city centre and also in a quiet neighbourhood but short distance to anywhere. Staff is very nice and helpful. Rooms are clean and housekeeping is very friendly. I totally recommend this hotel to anyone.
The hotel is very nicely located close to the main avenue Nevsky Prospect and to a couple of metro stations. It is also located on the Fontana river although not overlooking it. The walk from the riverside to the hotel (2min) leaves an impression that you’re entering a not so nice area and the door to the hotel is tucked away with a small sign on the door. The set of steps also confirms that same impression. Don’t be fooled by that however, once you enter, the hotel the room are nice and spacious with all the facilities you need and a recently renovated bathroom of excellent quality. The room she confirm the hotel’s 3 stars rating.. with its location, it’s an excellent place to stay. Breakfast is modest but is sufficient to start your day. By far the best thing about the hotel I stayed the service of the various receptionists who rotate on a 24 hours basis. They are friendly, helpful and will do anything to make your stay a comfortable one.
The place is perfect! The only sad thing is that we did not know the door code... The personnel is welcoming and nice - we left our luggage in the morning and we were allowed to use a rest room, what was very kind of them! There is a good kitchen we could use.
If you take the time to read all of the details about this apartment in the center of St. Petersburg then there is absolutely no way you could be disappointed! I read the negative review about this property on TripAdvisor and I felt that she was unnecessarily negative. The home is literally in the center of the city on a busy street, so you should expect some street noise from time to time. The outside of the building does not seem very impressive, but once you walk into your living space you’ll find that it is exactly as photographed. The kitchen area has a washer and dryer for clothes, a stove top with four burners for cooking plus a microwave. There are basic pans, utensils and culinary for you to use but you will be washing the dirty dishes yourself. This should not be a surprise if you read all of the details provided in the advertisement. This is more like living in an apartment then sleeping at a hotel. I honestly can’t find a negative thing to say about this cute living space which is meticulously maintained. I am within walking distance of more than 100 restaurants and some of the best sites Peter has to offer. I encourage you to give this a try if you’re here to visit and live amongst the people versus vacationing as a pampered princess at some hotel 30 miles away. To me, this is the better deal all the way around.
I am from Indonesia and first time traveling to St Petersburg. My opinion for the hotel is. Inexpensive, clean and comfortable hotel. At winter, room comfortably warm, hot water working perfectly, clean room and bath room. Very nice and friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Comfortable bed. Only little drawback is wall sound insulation, but for me it is not a big issue, because majority of guests isn' t noisy. Overall i am very satisfied. :-)
Lovely new cozy mini hotel 5 minutes walk from metro Chernyshevskaya. Staff is super friendly. Delicious breakfasts. Very clean.
Today, today, I live here today, full of feelings.
First time in St Petersburg and we picked this really wonderfull place. Located in a very convenient spot for sightseeing either on foot or by metro, this was one of the best accommodations we ever had worldwidely. Clean and cosy room, very nicely decorated, with a beautiful yard, in which you can enjoy your drink or coffee. The rooms are very quiet, the neighbourhood is amazing and of course safe. Many nice cafes and restaurants are in the vincinity and the metro station is three blocks away. The staff is really helpfull and friendly: Igor, Olga, Tatianna, Dmitry and the rest made our staying there unforgettable. We shall certainly meet again in our next visit in your heroic and beautiful city! Spashiba for everything, best regards from greece, Anna, Kostas.
Pros: location, absolutely. Rooms are clean, furniture cheap but new. Excellent breakfast. Cons: The hotel is located inside a business centre: there is no lobby, no lobbybar, no rest area. The reception ladies are not trained to be customer-oriented. They seem to be fired from a soviet theatre and hired at this hotel, all of them. Talking to customers as if we are a disturbance to their vacation. Never told me there is a minibar in the room: I never even imagined there was one but they asked if I used it at checkout. Keys get demagnetized, customer is to blaim, of course. Unfriendly attitude in general. Aircon never gets cleaned: you can feel strange odor every time you switch it on. Complained, was told that a technician ''will see it on Monday" but I left on Sunday. Amenities really cheap. Toilet paper: two rolls for three days for two people. Bedside lamp burnt out: complained by email, email receives by reception (they confirmed), never got a reply, never fixed.
We loved our stay. Small and friendly, perfect location, warm and comfortable, clean and spacious, WiFi good. ideal for our 4 nights. Friendly hotel managers Alina, Anna and Svetlana, fluent English, gave us the chance to ‘meet’ some locals and learn more about Russia. Our poached eggs were cooked perfectly by Olga. We borrowed some UK plugs as we forgot those. We used the kitchen fridge and a pot of earl grey was never a problem, nor printing items. The five rooms form part of the first floor in an old mansion. Two minutes walk from Metro Admiraltyskaya, bus 22, 3 so easy to get around, but we mostly walked. If you want a personable stay away from the main tourist hotel areas, Casa Leto is perfect. The shared secure entrance, and hallway to first floor landing, where our hotel is, was initially a shock, but once we understood the converted building architecture, all was ok. With fewer rooms, understandably, breakfast has less food options to major hotels, no problem for us.
We arrived at the hotel before the check-in time, but we were offered to relax in the lobby, have a snack and drink tea. The administrator met very affably. While we were resting we quickly prepared a room and we settled before the due time. This is an excellent bonus for us. The room has a good bed, shower and toilet. Breakfasts are delicious. Excellent location! Also we were helped with the order of excursions. We thank the administration for the service and our rest.
The apartment hotel was very large with a large living room with TV and open kitchen with cooker, fridge, oven and toaster. The living room has two sofas where someone could easily fit onto, they are both very comfortable. The bedroom has a large double bed with clean sheets that get changed daily. The bathroom had a fancy power shower unit that is multifunctional and can give you a 'jungle shower' experience ie water from all sides. The apartment also includes a modern washing machine! In addition, it has a balcony AND two air conditioners, one for each room. Locationwise its about 7 min walk from the nearest tube station. However, because taxis are so cheap (use the 'yandex taxi app' which is the uber russia joint venture) just call taxis to go anywhere! This place is HIGHLY recommended! You won't find anything even close to this quality at this price. We paid approximately £45 per night.
You could not get more helpful staff, in particular Alexandra and Anna. They managed to find out all kinds of practical information, very useful hints, taxis, transfers, tickets to the Mariinsky etc., much better than the Tourist Office. Breakfast is served in a large corner room that used to be the grand old restaurant where the litterati met. Books, photos, music instruments etc attest to the hotel's artistic associations. NOTE: Although the official address is Malaya Morskaya 13, the entrance is round the corner, a wooden door with a bronze plaque and a keypad. Don't be put off by the smelly entrance hall. The hotel is on the first floor on your left. There is a cosy restaurant round the corner, MESTECHKO, well worth the visit, and Sicaffé also nearby serves light meals, cakes and home-made ice cream.
Location: Great! Close to public transport and the city centre. Rooms: Good rooms, decent amount of space. Cubby’s for each bed which was really useful and curtains provided privacy (was in the 8 bed mixed dorm). Also each bed has a light and power point which was very useful. Facilities: Bathrooms and showers clean and tidy. Great communal area to prepare food. Vending machine available. Staff: Very friendly and helpful. Let me store my bag there and collect later which was really appreciated! Also arrived late and they were really accomodating.
Small and very pleasant hotel with great location. Very close to the famous Nevsky but a little bit aside that’s why not noisy. Conditioners worked well and no troubles with hot water as we were afraid of. We had a lovely staying for 5 days in Saint-Petersburg. Thank you!
The hotel is not big, the location is okay, and the sanitary conditions are good, that is, you must not put cash in the hotel, thinking that there is no place to spend RMB in the hotel, when you come, there is 2,000 RMB in your wallet, and there is less time to leave One thousand, everyone must bring cash with them
Very good living environment, the traffic is very smooth, the surrounding supermarkets and shopping malls have everything! If you like the Youth Hostel, don't miss it! The hotel also has tools such as bicycles and scooters!
Hotel is very cozy. Quiet place in historical district. 5 min to the subway, 5 min to the nearest grocery, 5 min to Mac and different street food places. Several rooms on one floor - less neighbours - less noise.Tasty simple breakfast, and the most friendly staff, I have ever seen. The only negative thing is the noise of trams ! Well done!
