We arrived 2nd June 22 at 7pm to be told our room wasn’t ready. We were on the paperwork given room 44. They had changed us to room 84. Adapted room. Extremely dark, tiny window . Shrubs needed trimming so light can get in. A safe was on bottom of wardrobe. How the hell does a disabled person get down to use it let alone an able bodied person. No toilet roll no place for it to go so you would have to do a half turn to get it off the cistern.no bathroom shelf for the toiletries so I had to use the case to place my wash bag on. This room I suspect was given to someone else who had rejected it then was given mine, god I don’t blame them for rejecting it. They have left a review on hotels.com. Grubby room. Needed a good clean so much dust on the cross legs of the table. We had Breakfast, eventually, long queues, took ages. Had black pudding. Had to wait for that to be cooked. When it came it was a large wedge that was undercooked in the middle. Dinner was a shambles. After hearing all the complaints we decided not to bother. . We have been her 4 times but I don’t think we will use it again. We cruise 4 or 5 times a year so unless things improve I don’t think we will be staying there again. On a positive note the girl on reception is an asset to them . We have met her twice and so friendly.

We stayed on a Sunday night with the kids and really enjoyed it. Little touches like the cookies, fresh milk, coffee machine and kids robes made it really special. A nice check in by Olivia who was really informative and friendly and awesome service by dean and the team in the restaurant really impressed us. The swimming pool was great apart from the unfriendly locals who thought they were entitled to the whole place ! Would revisit in a heartbeat for the amazing and value for money stay and breakfast

We booked a table for 7.30pm on a Thursday evening and the pub was not overly busy. The menu is not huge but there is good choice. They offered pie (chicken, lamb or steak) so I chose steak pie. We went to order my pie and also 2 x cod loins only to be told they had run out of steak pie. It happens, I get that so went for the chicken pie instead. We were then told that the chicken pie was not available either. I then changed again to the battered fish and chips and as we placed the order we were then told the cod loin was no longer available !! This was half of the menu not available at 7.30pm for a family who had booked a table! We ended up with 3 x fish and chips and one lamb pie all of which was ok. We then ordered dessert - an apple tart with coconut sorbet. Guess what - no coconut sorbet! By now the comedy value of this experience was wearing thin. The staff were very nice and apologetic and some were clearly embarrassed by the poor management of the kitchen. The bar manager apologised and offered us a complimentary drink. My wife asked for a decaf coffee. You guessed it, they didn’t have any as they had run out. This is not a way to run a restaurant. I wouldn’t usually comment but I popped in there a couple of weeks ago for lunch and ordered a fish finger sandwich to which they had sold out. I then orders an alternative sandwich and they had run out of bread! The place is a joke and I would avoid it until such time management changes. It made Fawlty Towers look like the Ritz.

We stayed here for two nights last week, on arriving at the car park, there were lots of spaces and we managed to park near to the hotel entrance. We were greeted by Richard on reception, the entire staff were excellent and very helpful. It was our daughters 10th birthday and Richard organised for a little birthday surprise chocolate brownie to our room. We had a swim on both our evenings at our hotel. The pool was lovely and the perfect temperature. On our first night, we ate at the bar, on second night, we ate in the restaurant. The service was a little slow but the kindness of the waitress made up for it. Tia making the cocktails was fantastic, I had the gin and jam cocktail. The room we stayed in (132) was a little tired but the shower was heaven, so powerful and lovely body wash and hair wash. Big thank you to Richard and the staff. Excellent breakfast too! We will definitely love to stay here again on our next trip to Paultons Park.

Upon arriving I was incredibly disappointed. The description on Trip Advisor and elsewhere states: “Set in acres of beautiful countryside, our hotel offers the best of breathtaking scenery” Surrounding the hotel are multiple housing estates and new roads being constructed. I appreciate they don’t control what goes on around them, but please don’t market yourselves as something you are not. My view from the single window was also of a relatively new housing estate, bright street light and at the time a member of staff standing there smoking whilst staring at our bed. Not a great start. Upon arriving, we were allowed to check-in early, which was appreciated. However, as a family (visiting Peppa Pig World) we purchased a package deal - and we had the distinct feeling that we were allocated a special ‘out of the way' room in the ‘out of the way’ wing where they stick the package holiday customers. The room was downstairs and along a long corridor. It was dark and somewhat depressing. The room itself was much the same. The chairs were too dirty to sit on, one of the pillows had some horrible red staining on, the air-con was weak and one of the bedside units (next to my 5-year-olds bed) had a couple of pin nails sticking out ready to split a head open in an instant (I bent them over to avoid this for future guests). The TV didn't work and and there were minor issues, such as holes in the curtains and bed sheets It just felt tired. My worst experience came when wanting to watch my little girl swim with her mum in the pool, but I didn’t want to swim myself. I asked a member of staff if that was possible. He blanked me. I asked again, and there was complete silence - making me feel very uncomfortable. Almost in a ‘why would you want to watch’ kind of way. Still no answer from the staff member. If it hadn’t been my daughter's birthday he’d have been pulled to one side and given a lesson in customer service whether he liked it or not. Clearly rude, and not overly bright. Slight positive, they were accommodating when allowing us some plates for my daughter's cake in our room and a little bit of ice for our drinks. And, the bathroom was quite clean and other than leaky taps it all seemed to work well. We would have ordered food, but some was £30+ a dish, plus a £5 tray charge. I’m happy to pay for good food, but not for a hotel that talks a good game when it comes to their food, but can’t even deliver on a decent cooked breakfast (the sausages were dreadful) - and I very much doubt any was organic, which apparently is if possible…. A few staff members were very friendly, and a few were not. Was it a truly horrible stay? No, but it was certainly forgettable. It would be fine for a business stay, but it’s NOT family-friendly, and feels very dated. It was trying to punch well above its weight. As a dad, my mains concerns for a 'family room' were: 1) Pin nails by the bedready to cause injury. 2) Child's bed pushed up tight against the radiato

I have just recently returned from a few days stay at the above hotel, and I just wanted to say that the service and care I received from Simon, Deputy Manager was exemplary. I took my partner & daughter for a short break to visit family and Simon and the staff did not disappoint me. Every staff member with whom we came in contact was attentive and kind. There were a few problems when we arrived and were checked in by the Manager, but by the next morning Simon rectified all this and restored my faith in the hotel. We have stayed here many times and will definitely be returning. We had a wonderful time and I have already recommended this hotel to all of my colleagues, friends and family. Thank you again for such outstanding service.
