There is so much to see in Paris, a city of two million people, it doesn’t matter too much where you base yourself. So the welcoming Hor Les Lumieres on a side street in the 11th Arrondissement nestled between Parmentier & Oberkampf stations is a pretty good choice. We were especially pleased to find this as our original hotel (Ibis Styles, if you’re interested) let us down just 4 days prior when they stated they could only allocate a twin room (we’d booked a double) with a shower only (we’d booked a bath). It’s a good job I always check. As with thousands of Parisian hotel rooms, it is compact and every effort has been made to maximize storage space. There are two sets of floor to ceiling windows opening out to the street. We had two twin beds put together with separate bedding so we did have to get up and push them back together at intervals. There’s a handy dropdown table attached to one wall which we needed up permanently Two wardrobe areas holding 14 quality wooden hangers and the obligatory fold up clothes airer There are no drawers so just the base of the hanging area to keep your undies plus shelves above and below space Two bedside tables A small seat The bathroom is small and therefore on the dark side although with a good mirror plus another just outside. Two large and two small towels and bathmat Detachable shower over small bath Four plastic glasses Shower gel and shampoo bottles Solid soap Hairdryer Tissues The room had power sockets in all the convenient places with two easily mirrors reachable when styling hair. The full-length mirror is very handy to have outside the bathroom. The lighting was pretty good with a fabulous overhead fitting, a light the length of the headboard plus what now seems the hotel standard, flexible mini, bedside spotlights. Refreshments Two complimentary bottles of water There’s a kettle in the room with initial coffee/milk so just need to ask in reception for top ups In addition, there is complimentary coffee available 24/6 in reception anyway. One night, when there wasn’t any milk handy staff kindly popped to the kitchen to make us some fresh coffee. Facilities A decent sized mini fridge is very handy. Plus there’s a safe, the TVs up high on the wall and free Wi-Fi that worked every time. We barely needed the air con as the room was a good temperature already The hotel has one small lift although we never needed to wait. The rooms seem soundproofed as we never heard a sound from the hallway, and we know we had neighbours through sharing a lift with them Service Reception is open 24/7 although they keep the front door locked through the night. We received a warm welcome every time we went through reception. One evening, they just made us a coffee from the breakfast room rather than us using the pod machine in reception.

Plus points: We were given a ground floor room on request as we had a small baby and was easier with the pram on finding out how small the lift was. So the room was a disabled access room which meant we had a fairly large room as well as a separate toilet and shower room. Was perfect for us. We also had 24 hr access to the microwave which meant we could easily sterilise bottles for baby. Plenty of sockets available to charge our phones and boil our kettle (we had brought one with us, hotel does not provide) There was a 24 hr reception so if we needed anything there was always someone there which was good to know. Very close to the metro and local amenities. Minus points: The cot provided was of very poor quality unusable for any baby. We would never put our baby in such a thing. It looked like it had been brought from a dump site with no mattress inside and surrounded with holes in the netting and burn marks. Breakfast was just a disgrace, completely cold and had to pay extra! On top of the overpriced room they expect guests to pay extra for cold croissant and bread and a cold cup of coffee and juice. The simplest of breakfasts and we paid extra for that. Luckily we just agreed that we'd try it for just one morning then the next we went out to eat. There was dust on the lighting by the bed and walls.

Arrived at around 10.30am to find that our travel agent had cancelled our booking and the lovely lady on reception was so helpful. She printed off our original booking saying they’d cancelled it so we could claim it back. Luckily they still had rooms so we paid again a very reasonable price and she let us check in there and then with no extra charge. We felt immediately at home once we saw that the receptions and hallways were decorated with Keith haring figures who we love 💕 All the staff we encountered during our stay were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is bright, clean and airy and the room itself the same, quite big for Paris and had two double Juliet balcony windows which came in handy because it was very hot during our stay. Oberkampf metro is only a few minutes walk away on a main room with shops, restaurants etc and the hotel was a very good location, just set back on a side street behind this. Our room was opposite a bar which stayed open quite late but the noise wasn’t bad enough to keep us awake even with the windows open. The only negative I could find was that the lift was absolutely tiny but that wasn’t a problem to us but could be to some people. We are heading back to Paris in September and even though we’ve already booked somewhere, we are looking to change to Des Metallos because we liked it that much. Thank you so much for being a safe haven in a situation that could’ve spoilt our break.

We stayed here for three nights and a great little hotel to stay in yes the room small and the shower but it did the job for the amount of time you stay in you room. The reception. Both the lady and gentlemen could not be more helpful nothing was a problem we recommend the bar next door but one looks like shop frontage but once you enter is a tiny bat with a great atmosphere you are slightly out of town but parmenter is a five minute walk and you can travel around on the metro without any problem. We would recommend this Little gem

This was our first trip to Paris and it was amazing . We went to celebrate our 25 th anniversary!! The Hotel Gabriel was a wonderful place to stay - The hotel staff were delightful - so friendly and very accommodating to all our questions and concerns. We always felt like we were their number one priority. All of their advice and suggestions were always great ! We truly felt like they were there for us - language was never an issue and every day we had conversations with both the staff working the front desk and the staff at breakfast . We will me the cheerful bonjour and bon soir every day !!! Breakfast was perfect and so appreciated as it is included in the room cost - this is a great perk . The rooms were clean and comfortable and the hotel looked exactly like the pictures - the neighborhood was amazing with so many restaurants and friendly people too . Close to the metro and easy to navigate around the city from here . I would highly recommend and I would definitely go back !! Miss them already - it was truly like a home away from home .

I had the now rare experience of needing to find a room on the day of my stay, on foot, in a new city. In a world of hotel-chains and impersonal online-bookings, this task seems all the more unusual and difficult. And truly, on that day I walked out of multiple hotels having discovered (often with a harsh and unnecessary guffaw) that they were booked, over-priced, or had slipped into a state of decadence in the opportunity of a dispassionate functionalism. Yet! The moment I entered Albert's Hotel I discovered a place which demonstrated aesthetic and hygienic care; a space composed by a hand connected to a sympathetic and generous mind. And most substantially, the kind voices and welcoming eyes that can make any person feel at home, anywhere on Earth. As such, I would like to commend and thank immensely the hotel receptionist working the morning of my arrival. I believe her name is spelled 'Adja' and I hope that if I am incorrect the hotel will respond by correcting me. Adja treated me as if welcoming me to her home, as an equal, and with the attention, listening and reactions of someone who knows that each one of us deserves not only kindness, but to be encouraged and matched to the height of our potential as we make our journey. I will always go back to Albert's Hotel because of how I felt while I was there; connected, human. This was achieved by the hotel's care to keep the space clean, a constitution and design sympathetic to the guest and a reception worthy of the best.

I have always had a good stay at an Ibis, though I do my research as some seem better than others. This one was excellent. Nice and clean room, friendly staff, excellent location near the Metro. I was there for a week, but I never had their breakfast as, well, it's Paris. There are plenty of excellent places nearby. If you are not used to city noises, you might find the place a bit loud. It is right off a major thoroughfare. However, I slept fantastic. The Wi-fi was good, and the shower terrific as well. I found a cheap place to do my laundry around the corner. Perhaps, most importantly, the A/C was terrific as I was there when the temperature was over 40 Celsius.

I got a good deal on this room through Priceline. Checked into my room and unpacked. After being in my room for a bit, the bathroom door handle broke and I couldn’t get it back open. I alerted the staff, and they came in the room to try and fix it. It took quite some time, and eventually I had to switch rooms to another floor. I had to re pack and relocate. They offered me an upgraded room at an additional cost of €30 euro a night. I asked if there was anything the hotel could offer for the inconvenience, and they said no. When checking out, there was a nearly €30 euro room charge which was for the coffee I drank each morning in the cafeteria, which I specifically was told I wouldn’t be charged for. When I asked the front desk guy about this charge, he said I should have been told about the charge, but the two previous desk people did not tell me about this. I felt very disappointed with all of this. The staff was friendly, but they didn’t go out of their way to resolve any of this for me. The rooms are very small. Though they are clean. I would not recommend this hotel due to my experience. The location was not close to anything good, and they definitely didn’t go out of their way to make my unpleasant experience better. I’m not typically the type to try and get something for nothing, and I was very friendly when trying to resolve the issues, but the staff was inconsistent and unwilling to do anything extra to make up for their miscommunications.

I have stayed at this hotel several times, it is a modern boutique hotel in a great location. The Hotel Mareuil is a 4 star hotel with all the amenities you would expect, I have stayed at many similar standard hotels In Paris all very good, however, for me, it is the staff that set the Mareuil apart, they are wonderful, friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are modern and comfortable. This was my first visit to the hotel since the pandemic, the rooms were pared back, no mini bar nor lotions etc to facilitate ease of cleaning and sanitising although everything was available at reception on request. The hotel was immaculate, I felt absolutely safe and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others. I will be returning on my next visit to Paris.

Disappointed as there were so many other better hotels I should have stayed in. It is well located, a few mins from Oberkampf metro. I was arriving on a flight at 0600hrs so planned to arrive in the hotel by 0830hrs on a Thursday. I therefore booked the preceding night's stay on booking.com (Weds) and emailed the hotel to explain my arrival time/reason they wouldn't see me till late morning. I assumed check in would be after 2pm and knew I would be exhausted and needing a room. I got a response back that they could not guarantee my request and wanted to know whether I would have the credit card I used to make the online reservation when I arrived. An unusual request as those of us used to travelling pretty much know this is a requirement. Another email asking about the card was again received as I waited at the airport for my taxi. I ignored it. On arrival at the hotel, I learnt a bit more about their operation and scam. Firstly, the receptionist claimed I was a 'no show'. I asked whether they had seen my email as couldn't understand what he was talking about (this was about 0920hrs on theThurs). He asked for my payment card and proceeded to cancel the payment to booking.com. He then immediately deducted the same amount, from the same card. Clearly this was done so that all the money could go directly to the hotel with no commission to booking.com!! An hour later, I received an email from booking.com saying I was a no-show!! I promptly set them straight. This is Hotel Alhambra's way of diverting all the money to their account if one books via a third party. As you can see from the receipt, they charged me 10 Euros for 1 breakfast which I never had. The receptionist who checked me in didn't know I spoke French and so when the dining lady came upstairs and asked (as I stood at reception) if she should expect anyone else for breakfast, he said no on that first morning, yet still charged me? I asked him again on Sat morning as I checked out why I had been charged an extra 10 euros when I never had breakfast (it is a supplementary fee) and he joked and said, I could have given you a coffee! I didn't see much disinfecting going on. The garden is lovely, shady with lots of trees. The room was clean but these guys are too expensive, double what you pay on the same street and clearly just keen on taking money from clients rather than giving quality service. Metro hotel is literally next door, at half the cost, much warmer and transparent staff, too.

We stayed here for five days 4 nights. Everything runs very well here. Quite a few staff speaks English and very friendly. Room is clean, location is excellent.. close to metro stations, cafes, supermarkets where it is easy to find snacks, sandwiches, baguettes, fruits, cheeses, wins, everything. When check-in, we were not asked to show passports, which made us feeling like staying at our second house. The front desk service is available 24/7 I believe. I would recommend it to our friends for sure.

The hotel location is very good, very close to the Arc de Triomphe, a five minute walk to the subway station can also take a direct bus to and from Charles de Gaulle and Orly Airport. Facilities breakfast also fully reached the four-star standard, the gym is relatively small. The front desk is more enthusiastic. There is a little brother who can speak Chinese, which makes communication more convenient.

Good location, nearby Carrefour, franprix and other supermarkets! I live on the 2nd floor facing the street, and it is very quiet at night, but the sound insulation between the room and the room is really average. The room is not large and has a balcony (not every room, so it is best to leave a message to tell the room with a balcony when booking) ), There is also a door in the bathroom sharing a balcony with the room, so the balcony is quite large. The hotel only provides shampoo, shower gel and hair dryer. Slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided, so it is recommended to bring your own toiletries. Lines 7 and 10 are only 5 minutes' walk from the surrounding area. Line 4 is about 15 minutes away. The 5th district is a Latin area, surrounded by universities, so it is safe! The hotel has access control locks, staff need to help open the door to enter! Breakfast is an ordinary western-style breakfast, bread, milk, eggs, oatmeal, sausage and cheese. A tax of 1.88 euros per person per night, which must be paid to the front desk when checking out. This Ctrip will also call you when you are in China to inform you that this tax must be paid to the hotel separately! The hotel provides free wlan, but the Internet speed is average, the room has air conditioning and heating. In short, the price is high!

Stayed at the B&B hotel for three nights while visiting Disney. Anyone looking for a cheap place to stay this is perfect. Hotel is spotlessly clean, really friendly staff, good sized rooms with comfortable beds and shower room. The hotel serves a simple dinner of pasta or pizza which is great, easy to order and quick to come. Breakfast is simple but just want you need at the start of the day. Tables were cleared quickly and everything very clean and presented well. We were worried about the shuttle overcrowding but there are a few services which only run from the B&B hotel and others which go to the other four hotels on the complex which makes it easy. We always got on a bus even if it was busy and never had to wait long! Lockers are available to store luggage if your arrive before your room is ready or check out early. We will be back on our next disney trip!

For the first time in a hotel model, the century-old building is said to be a historical cultural relics protection unit in Paris, so it is completely banned. My old cigarette can only smoke in a small yard. Miss Luo is very enthusiastic, let us have the feeling of going home. There is a black guy in night shift who speaks Chinese very well. He said that he read a book in Guangzhou. In the morning, the girl named Marty also speaks Chinese. There is no problem at all, and at the same time give us a lot of advice on the tour, much stronger than those that are not reliable. It is very convenient to exit the subway 50 meters away. This area is a safe place for French people to live in. The room is big enough to be the floor-to-ceiling glass window in Europe. Our bedroom is very close to the yard, so the living room is a bit noisy. It is highly recommended to add a Chinese breakfast. It is really not suitable for those cheese breads, and it is better to have Chinese TV. If you have the opportunity to come back to Paris, you will still come to the Paris Residence.

Myself and my teenage daughter stayed here for 3 nights 22/7 - 25/7. Please bear in mind that the hotel had only just reopened after Coronavirus restrictions. The positives:- Super clean. Comfy beds with memory foam pillow and normal pillow. Near to metro station. Near to supermarket and shopping area. Bercy village on the doorstep with a range of restaurants offering different cuisines and many bars. Safe neighbourhood. We didn’t have the breakfast so can’t comment on that. Good double glazed sound proof windows. The negatives:- Small room size and bathroom (but this is typically European). The safe is located on the floor which is not easy to access given the tight space of the room or the lighting to see to the back of the safe. Shower floor can be slippery when wet so be careful when getting out. The toilet had a weak flush (may have been just our room 723). No fridge (beware of leaving food or drink in your room on a hot day). It was hot when we were there so we had to leave the air con on all day to keep our food and drink cool. This can’t be cost efficient for the hotel. One of the two lifts was being replaced. As I said earlier, we stayed just after it had reopened so here a few other suggestions that may be helpful during post Covid (but not normal conditions). Housekeeping are only cleaning the rooms every 2 days. So make sure you ask for fresh towels every day. There is a notice stating this on the reception desk but when you are busy checking in and are tired from travelling you may not notice it like we didn’t. It would have been helpful if reception staff actually told us this at check in stage. There wasn’t any tea/coffee makings in the room due to virus restrictions so we had to ask for a kettle. (We bought our own cups and tea etc as thought this might be the case). Tips:- Get a room on the street side of the hotel with a balcony if possible. The other side has views of a railway line and station.
