0.66km from Vicenzo PizzaStayed here for one night in a standard double room having flown in from London that evening. There is quite a bit of competition nearby so I felt the price paid generally represented good value for my room, which was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and basic amenities. There’s a tasteful aeronautical theme to the decoration of the rooms and public areas which is a nice touch in Toulouse. Access to all main UK television channels was appreciated as a fairly limited French speaker, something I didn’t benefit from elsewhere on this trip. As to the rest of the hotel it’s not all good news. Parking is free to guests who must collect a ticket on arrival and hand it in again when checking out, however access to and exit from the car park is via a rather narrow driveway with an unusual “keep left” system, which is of course at odds with the rest of the road system. The reception desk was only manned by one person, and when I arrived at a fairly quiet time I still had to wait rather longer than I’d have liked to check in. Having arrived hungry off a delayed flight I was disappointed to find that the restaurant is closed at weekends, presumably because the hotel caters more to a business market than tourists like myself. There was a bar and a very basic food offering available to order, but nothing to my tastes (and it’s not very well promoted in the rooms - I had to rummage through the welcome pack in the wardrobe to find a menu). Never mind, there are always the complimentary biscuits! I normally avoid hotel breakfasts which tend to be overpriced and fairly basic buffets, and this one was no exception I’m afraid. The selection of pastries, yoghurts, cereal and meats was enough to fill a hole but not quite enough to see me through to lunchtime. My room number wasn’t taken at breakfast so it’s only through honesty that I was billed for it. There were a couple of maintenance issues with my room including a leaking toilet cistern and a water leak in the corridor outside the room which were reported. All the room doors have a small raised section that’s easy to trip on if you’re not paying attention. Overall a pleasant enough stay considering the very reasonable price paid for the room.
