We hired the wedding for 3 days last week. It was absolute perfect from start to finish. From the beauty of the villa itself to the prefect elevated view of Florence. The staff couldn’t have done more for us and Illaria who runs the villa was the perfect host. We used a catering company called Roland’s for the wedding and Allesandro who was in charge ran the most professional service. The best 3 days of our life. 5 stars doesn’t give this place justice and couldn’t recommend any more for a wedding. Would love to return for someone else’s wedding one day or maybe a trip in the winter. Only 10 drive from the center of Florence Richard Hayes

Beautifully decorated rooms, immaculate bathroom and all of the amenities to make it a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Whilst it is not in the heart of the city it is very accessible via the tram which runs every 5 mins and it is only 10 mins away from the city centre. To be fair we welcomed this as it is in quiet location away from the very busy centre. We were given a bottle of wine on our checkout and all in all it was a perfect experience. Cannot recomend enough.

General facilities, older European-style hotels with elevators. There is a large and small supermarket on the opposite side of the hotel. It is closed at 9 o'clock in the evening. It is also very convenient to supplement. The location is very good, the main attractions to the old town are within walking distance, take a look at the city to pay attention to the sights. For self-driving travel, it is suitable. Outside the ZTL, the free parking space at the door should not be considered forever. The parking lot will enter the street behind the hotel building. The iron door will be automatically opened according to the door, but there are only 10 parking spaces, 10 Euro per car. .

Stayed here for 3 nights with my partner. The lady at the reception was extremely nice and helpful. The apartment was clean and had everything you would need in it to feel comfortable. The only thing I would comment on is that the bed felt a bit like we were sleeping on the ground as it was very low raise and it needs more pillows. Other than that everything was good.

Hotel service is not bad. Go to the saved package in advance. The room has two bottles of water every day and a variety of shower gels. The tub is great and great, which is the most satisfying. The atmosphere is not bad, breakfast is good, there are English newspapers. Insufficient: The dust in the room is a bit too much. Then there is dust in the water in the machine that burns water, so there is no water to drink. There is no English channel on the TV and I don't understand it at all. The front desk staff is really great! ! English is not bad! ! Close to Freedom Square and walk for ten minutes to the city centre. Basically, it is not very convenient to use a car because the city is small and there is no need to take a bus.

Ok so I had really high hopes for this place. But they were quickly diminished. I’ll start with the positives.

-Staff was very friendly from the moment we arrived.
-Room was very big with comfortable bed.
-Netflix on the tv was a nice touch as watching tv in a foreign language is not the most fun experience so it was nice to be able to watch something we know at the end of a long day.

Now the negatives which are pretty BIG negatives.....

1. I got LOCKED IN to the hotel. Staff is only here til 8am-10pm. Well I stopped in to get money out of my safe in the room at 1030pm. Well all the doors are locked and you cannot get out! The front door is bolted down and the back gate does not open from the inside. I’ve never seen a place like this. So I tried calling the emergency number, only to find out my phone in the room did not work. So I was stuck in the room the rest of the night. While my family was out having a late dinner I was sitting in the room. The most preposterous thing ever. When I brought it up to the staff the next day all she said was she was really sorry. I then asked at checkout if there was anything they could do for me for my troubles and they did not make me pay for my city tax which was nice of them, which was only 18€ but it’s something. So if you plan on going anywhere past 9pm, do not stay here. What if there was an emergency, say a fire etc. Seems to be a huge safety concern.

2. They only give you one key. The problem with that is the AC only works when your key is in the slot in the room. We took 2 day trips during our stay that lasted around 12-13 hours so our hotel room went without AC all day and when we got back to the room, it was hot and stuffy. Not something you want to come back from after a long day of sightseeing. From what I gather, this may be a common thing in Europe??

3. There was a gurgling sound in our toilet every 25-30 min or so which was annoying and would wake us up from time to time.

4. There was a small amount of mosquitoes/bugs around the room.

5. Train station/sights are about a mile away. So about 20 min walk. It’s doable, but not very convenient if you’re doing a lot around the city center.

6. They give you no hand soap. They include body gel, shampoo, conditioner, but no hand soap?? Very odd.

In conclusion, only stay here if you plan on sticking around the hotel all day and don’t plan to go out at night. They have only been around for a year but i can’t believe they never thought of people having to get out of the building past 10pm. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because of the friendly staff and big rooms. I hope they figure out the kinks because it could be a really nice place!

We had a wonderful and peaceful time at their Terrace Suite. It is spacious, has its own terrace, and it was an experience to have breakfast there everyday. It feels like you are at home, and you have someone to prepare a tasty and generous breakfast everyday, brought in to the room. The terrace was clearly the highlight of the suite. The staff were also friendly and helpful. If you fine with staying away from the center, a 20 minute walk to the city, slightly less to the fort, then go for it. It is clean, and well maintained. Please note that there is no lift access to the terrace suite. Might not be suitable for everyone.

it is my third or fourth stay in this little B&B, centrally located at walking distance from both the railway station and the exhibition center, Fortezza da Basso. it is locatd very close the old San Lorenzo market. Large rooms, all renovated, nice and modern design, very comfortable bed, perfect cleaning. Room are equipped with a small fridge, air conditionign TV and a working Wi-Fi. The shower (no bathtub) may be dark in some rooms, but it is not a big problem, at least for me. Normal amenities in the bathroom. A basic but suffcient breakfast. Nice and friendly staff that can also help you in going around and/or booking trips and museums. Indeed very good value for money

This place is more like an "appartment" than a B&B. We stayed in room #4 which has two twin beds and is quite spacious. Upon arrival no one answered the door but when we called their number, someone came to help us within 5 minutes. My advice would be: make sure you have the phone number with you. I guess waiting, even if only for a few minutes, might not be nice when it's raining. We loved the wooden floor, the beautiful ceiling and decoration in the room (simple but in style with the old building) especially our chandelier :-). The bathroom is very modern but consists only of a toilet and shower. The wash basin is actually in the room itself, around a corner, which didn't bother us. There is a water cooker in the room but only tea, no (instant) coffee. So if you like to drink coffee, you have to bring your own. There are lots of TV channels but not a single English or other language one. The room is up a short flight of stairs and then a small elevator takes you further up. The location is just UNBELIEVABLE!!! A 5 minutes" walk from Palazzo Vecchio and 15 min to Ponte Vecchio. There is a taxi stand around the corner at Piazza della Repubblica. There are several good options for breakfast nearby. Would certainly recommend. Hard to beat the price and location!

Nice small boutique B&B. Check in was easy with everything explained and being personally shown around the hotel and to the room. The Superior room is exactly like the pictures, with a bathtub inside the room. Lots of space, large TV, and a bathroom with lots of mirrors! Lots of hot water, and the bath was great to use. Didn’t use it as a shower so can’t comment on the water pressure. Simple breakfast with pastries, cereal, spreads, yoghurt, juices, coffee, cold cuts etc served in the dining room. No staff onsite after 7pm, but there’s still little touches like mood lighting and music playing through the common areas.

I mean during the check in the entire time, the staff ignored me the entire time, I understand he knows I was with my friends, but I have my reservation separately, he should handle it by the order, and not just assigned me the smallest room just because I was a single person.I booked the exactly same type of room just like my friends, and their room is twice bigger than mine. And I can only eat breakfast in bed because there was no room to put it. That’s hilarious actually.

Location is good especially for those who likes walking, it will take you 15-20 minutes to reach the Duomo. Staff is very welcoming and friendly: they gave us a map and gave some recommendations about main sights and places to eat. Our room was very cozy, beautiful and clean. Also, the building itself gives you very special atmosphere. There were two bottles of water and some cookies for free in the room while check-in. Breakfast was very good (served in the cafe 5 minutes walking from the hotel): juice, coffee and baked goods (2 pieces to choose). This hotel is a very good choice for its price!

We spent 4 nights at this hotel last week. I always use trip advisor for recommendations and it’s always been on point and very helpful. This is the first time that I just don’t understand all these 5 star reviews. The hotel is on the 2nd floor of a residential building. When you walk into the building, there are stairs to get to the first floor. On the first floor there is a small elevator you can take to the hotel floor. Be prepared to carry your luggage up to the elevator. The room was big with high ceilings. The bathroom was a decent size as well. It seemed clean. The WiFi was a big problem as we couldn’t connect any devices due to their router having a problem. Luckily they had another room available and we were moved because that room had a stronger signal and because I needed the internet for work, I had to agree to pack our things and move. The second room was nicer. The design was better and it even had flowers which was a nice touch. They have a buffet breakfast with few choices and after the first few days, it wasn’t enjoyable because it was the same thing day after day. Bread, cereal, croissants, cheese, ham, Nutella, jam, fruits, juice. The dining area is nice. The biggest problem we had with the hotel was the smell. There was a smell as soon as you enter the hotel and it was even worse in the room and especially bathroom. In the bathroom was such a strong sewer smell. I was so disappointed. I’m not sure if the sewer issue is just in this hotel or others as well. The location was decent. It’s just a few minutes walk from the Santa Croce church and shops and restaurants. It’s about a 13 minute walk from the center where the Duomo is located. With all this being said, the hotel staff was very nice and helpful. They were willing to help with what’s needed.

No elevator, no elevator, no elevator! The important thing is said three times! If you want to climb a narrow staircase to the upstairs with a huge suitcase, you must choose this hotel! The shower room is terrible. The shower has a red, yellow and blue light, and the entire bathroom is colored. Service is general, active awareness is not strong! Capri Moon is about a 10-15 min walk from the train station. Just follow google maps to get you to the location. It will be hard to find but it is worth it when you find the place. When you get to the building 17 look at the panel for Capri Moon and press the button. Walk into the double doors and wait until they buzz you in the right gate. Walk upstairs all the way to the top and the guesthouse is to your right. Now for the room itself, the beds are comfortable along with the pillows. The restroom is great as well. The pricing isnt bad for the location and if you share with a friend or two, it wont break your bank account.

We, a family of 5, stayed here for 2 nights. PROS: great location. It is right on the edge of everything, so the streets are quiet but it is still close to the Duomo and Accademie. Clean. Everything was quite clean, the floors, bathrooms, beds. Super nice. The owner and his staff are all super I d and accommodating. Free breakfast. It is pretty “meh.” My picky American kids wouldn’t eat most of it. The fruit always seemed overripe and there was other weirdness about it. But they do try. Spacious. The rooms are large and the bathrooms not super tiny. My three gripes about it: It is very dated. The lobby area is probably clean but it looks like your great-aunt’s living room, cluttered with doilies, lace tablecloths and old appliances, so it looks a little grubby. Everything could use a fresh coat of paint. It looks like an older Airbnb vs a 3 star hotel. Our fridge didn’t work. We were there in the middle of a heat wave and would have liked for our water to be cold. The housekeeping turned off the air conditioning while we were gone. It wasn’t unbearably hot or anything but as I mentioned, we were in the middle of a heat wave and after walking all day in 102 degree weather (with a baby in a baby carrier!), it would have been nice to come back to a nice cold room. Overall, I’m not sure I’d stay here again. There are certainly a lot pro’s but the price for a more updated, nicer hotel isn’t that much more. If you’re trying to save a buck, it’s fine. If you’d like to feel happy about coming back to your hotel room after a hot walk about town, I’d probably choose elsewhere.

The hotel is an old palace-like house remodeled, each room is mural, very beautiful. The hotel has only 8 rooms and is a very quiet boutique hotel. The hotel's location is in the heart of Florence, and is far from the main attractions of the core area, close to the Pitti Palace and the Old Bridge, is a region where the locals live more, compared to the main attractions area has a quiet alarm. There are a lot of art-run shops run by locals downstairs, which is worth a visit. There are plenty of local restaurants to try out downstairs. I will stay here next time.

Despite some issues, we liked the stay. Hosts are doing a great job. · The host was very friendly and explained us how to get to the historical center by public transport. We had room for two people with a queen-size (not sure) bed. The room had an extremely high ceiling and a chandelier, but the floor was covered with tile which would fall off in some places. There is a wardrobe, a TV and 3 sockets in the room (which is not enough, in my humble opinion). We had a shared bathroom for two rooms (L'Aranceto doesn't have other rooms, as I understood). The stuff tried their best to keep the bathrooms clean and fresh and succeeded in that, I must admit. Towels and shower gel are included but there was no hairdryer, so be aware. (It turned out you could ask the hosts to get it.) There is also a kitchen and garden in the hotel, which look quite cozy. You can buy products in the supermarket not far from the hotel. Location is good: there is a bus station just around the corner. And at that station there is the best confectionary ever – try pistachio croissants and you will return here just for them.

We had forgotten our jacket in a taxi on our way to the hotel and without us even asking, they called the taxi service and made sure our jacket was returned. The lady running the place was very friendly and extremely kind. The only issue we encountered was that the wrong address was provided in the TripAdvisor confirmation so we first went to an incorrect location, however when we called the property they directed us to the right place....so please make sure to check the address with the hotel. It was a very good hotel, the location was good, the breakfast was good, and it was quite historic. The reason for the bad review was that the friend's room in the same company was stolen! ! ! The locked lockbox is completely destroyed. The hotel does not have a camera, the police do not come, the hotel manager to accompany us to the police station to report the case is only for the insurance company to compensate for their losses. Although the room rate was finally waived, the stolen goods hotel did not compensate and asked their insurance company to determine the amount of compensation. In other words, if the insurance company does not pay, they are not responsible. Fortunately, the loss is not big, but the thinking is extremely fearful, security is not guaranteed! I would like to thank an unidentified staff member of the consulate. Although there is no law enforcement power, I have to communicate with the hotel for a long time to ensure that the hotel is to be rehabilitated.

I consider myself very lucky to have found the Hotel St. James on my recent trip to Florence. My travel partner and I arrived in Florence by train in the morning only to find out soon after that my travel partner had accidentally booked us into a hotel 20 minutes outside of Florence! We decided to look for a new hotel and chose the most reasonably priced one we could find online to make up for the money we were going to lose on the other hotel. We arrived at the Hotel St. James not expecting much given the very low price, but it turned out to exceed our expectations in every way! The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Our room, which included a private bathroom, was very large and clean and was cleaned every day. The beds were comfy and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that a free breakfast was included each morning (btw, the breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety). But perhaps the best part (aside from the staff because they were in fact truly amazing), was the hotel's very central location. More specifically, it's just a short walk from the train station and within walking distance of everything you'd want to see in Florence. If I ever make it back to Florence, I will definitely be staying there again. Don't let the low price fool you, this place is a gem and the best deal in town!
