We recently spent 10 days at Modica Palace Hotel. Everyone from the front desk, housekeeping, maintenance and restaurant staff were wonderful. All were friendly and helpful. The pool area is very nice and peaceful. We booked a superior room which was quiet and comfortable. We'd definitely consider staying here again should we find ourselves in Modica. Notes: The shuttle is no longer available. You definitely need a car or you'll be booking taxis. Breakfast was very good. The restaurant didn't appear to be open for dinner or was only open for groups so we never tried to eat there. Some of the pool furniture was in need of repair or replacement. It is the end of the season.. All in all it was a very good experience.

What can I say about Modica Boutique Hotel? I LOVED IT! LOCATION: GREAT! Easy to find, surrounded by many shops and restaurants. PARKING: Free Parking in a lock-up garage; private and very safe, with lift connected straight to Hotel. ROOM (Superior): Spacious, Modern, Very clean, Very comfy bed, Cozy linen, State of the art Shower, Relaxation at it's best! BREAKFAST: Spoiled for choice, everything fresh and delicious. Buffet Breakfast 'a la grande'! WATER MACHINE ON EACH FLOOR: Empty bottles provided for free cold or room temperature Natural and Sparkling Water HOTEL RESTAURANT: We had one dinner. Limited choice, however the food was cooked to perfect, presented well and we loved it. Very reasonably priced. STAFF: Polite, courteous, professional, and always with a smile. I highly recommend Modica Boutique Hotel, especially for those travelling with their car by ferry to Pozzallo, as it is only 20min drive. You will not regret it. We have only good words for this accommodation, without any doubt the best of all we have been in Sicilia. Vincenzo wrote to us before our arrival to give us all the instructions, recommending a place to park free, near the accommodation. The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable. The top floor was a very pleasant common space, with exit to a terrace from which you enjoyed an excellent view of Ragusa Ibla. Used this place as a base for touring the hill towns of South East Sicily. We found it well located to get to Scicli, Modica and of course Ragusa. All within 20 minutes drive. We arrived late on a Sunday and helpful lady on reception gave us great recommendation. Lovely big room, spacious parking area and big plot to roam. Inviting swimming pool with lots of loungers - bit too cold to use in May though. Poppies and wildflowers abound the grounds. Environmentally conscious theme. Local products well in evidence at breakfast. Good choice of food and great fresh blood orange juice! Overall incredible value. Would come back!

First, the hotel itself is gorgeous with sleek furnishings in a refurbished building and a fabulous rooftop deck overlooking lower and upper Ragusa and countryside. The beds were comfortable with very nice linens and the bathrooms had all the necessary items as advertised. The hosts were fantastic and really cared about our enjoyment. In fact, Emilio and Francesca made our stay even more memorable with extra touches including a delicious ”happy hour” that you can order ahead of time with Ragusa goodies and wine. Breakfast every day had homemade pastries and specialties of Ragusa. But it is really the two hosts who made our stay so memorable. If it's possible, we became fast friends after only a short stay due to their welcoming, professional interactions. Our memories will always include this very special couple when we think about our trip to Ragusa. Bravo to this wonderful couple and this BNB gem! I definitely recommend it!

My daughter recently got married at the Relais Chiaramonte on the outskirts of Ragusa. It was a dream wedding in every aspect. The location perched on top of a hill is picture perfect and the setting for the reception just as outstanding. The food ably prepared by Fabio Ulcano and his team is worthy of Michelin star rating. It was divine. Giuseppe Gugliotto, who is the restaurant manager could not be more professional and helpful in making sure all the preparations were set in motion on the day. All the staff at the hotel are so helpful and go out of their way to see to every need. We took over all the rooms at the small hotel for the wedding and it was great to share it with those closest to the family. Overall, I have wonderful memories of this event and I truly have only words of praise for those who made it so memorable and special.

Ample breakfast, peripheral location, quiet but not very comfortable and strategic. Check-in via WhatsApp because there was no one in reception (on mid morning) with cards withdrawal and keys in an autonomous way (in a ”cassette” available to everyone). The room has not been set up over the last 2 days (on 4 nights) (we have stayed without bathroom towels and toilet paper), with various absurd justifications by the employee. 7 days on 7 unexisting (I left a message in the phone secretary but did not have a answer). Wi-Fi was not going but it was not my priority ... Very hot room (I had to leave the condition on 24/24h). Peccato! A advice to the manager of this Residence: a quality STAFF is a very important thing.

L'hotel si trova lungo la strada di collegamento tra Ragusa e Marina di Ragusa da cui dista circa 12 km. Per spostarsi, quindi, bisogna disporre necessariamente di un veicolo. La struttura è molto carina, con una grande piscina, la palestra, ristorante e bar. Dispone di ampi spazi, tra cui anche un anfiteatro per spettacoli ed un ampio parcheggio interno gratuito. Le camere sono spaziose con affaccio sulla piscina (la nostra) ed il letto comodissimo con topper. Tv 42” ed aria condizionata regolabile dagli ospiti. C'è anche un piccolo frigo con due bottigliette di acqua gratuite e, nel bagno, i soliti accessori. Veramente fantastico il buffet per la colazione soprattutto per chi (come noi) gradisce il dolce e la frutta la mattina. Abbiamo trovato, infatti, diverse specialità di dolci con crema ed alla mandorla e frutta di diversi generi. In conclusione, un ottimo soggiorno anche se solo per una notte ma ci sarebbe piaciuto poter rimanere per una settimana. Sconsigliato per chi non ha la macchina e viaggia con i mezzi pubblici.

The hotel is actually on the slope, and the place you navigated to is down the slope. The car can park on the side of the road for free, and the hotel is monitored. Ring the bell uphill to open the door to enter, pass a small flower courtyard and a long corridor, and check in on the second floor. Our room is on the fifth floor. The two bedrooms are separated. There is a separate bathroom. There is a large terrace outside. It is great to sit outside on a sunny day the next day. There is a door on the fifth floor to go directly to the upper city of Ragusa. You can swipe your room card, which is very convenient. In the morning, the breakfast was quite rich. The front desk of the dinner hotel introduced a restaurant not far from the city. In the 16th-century house, the dishes, environment and service are very good. In winter, there are few people, so we will book a meal during our meal.

When we arrived a lady at reception helped us to carry our luggage to our room. We slept very well indeed because the hotel was situated in a quiet street, yet very close to the centre of Ragusa Superiore. It was amazing to walk and cover virtually the entire area to see the charming historic sights including so many churches in both Ragusa Ibla and Ragusa central, and to hear their bells chime regularly, was a beautiful experience. At breakfast, ladies greeted us, and each time we wanted certain edibles, the ladies came to our assistance. De Stefano's Director, was exceptional and made our stay perfect by going the extra mile, offering advice if we needed anything out of the ordinary. What a welcoming professional she is, always homely, smiling and happy. All the staff were terribly friendly and helpful, and so very eager to please and the service was first class. The room was kept in pristine condition and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel's position was fine, close to the many steps down and up to Ibla, and then up to the centre of Ragusa to go shopping or sightseeing there too. Restaurants were plentiful and with a little detective work, we found brilliant eateries off the beaten track and oh my, the variety of so so tasty cannoli became mind boggling. The venues that stood out for us for dinner were La Taverna Del Lupo, authentic and one we kept going back to, Trattoria da Luigi, Trattoria La Bettola and if you do not mind walking off a heavenly meal, then you must dine at Trattoria nto' Cumannanti, what a down to earth fun place with bustling atmosphere to enhance your taste buds. For lunch or a bite to eat, you have to go to Benvenuti al Sud, small family run with fantastic home cooked meals, and for an incredible variety of yummy delights we found ourselves returning often to Caffé Sicilia which had everything, and finally look out for fine bakeries such as the Panificio Carpenzano located in Corso Italia, and others presenting scrumptious and wholesome snacks. We had a wonderful stay at the De Stefano Palace Luxury Hotel. It was a fantastic holiday and it was a real pleasure to stay at the De Stefano. We found The De Stefano Luxury Hotel superb, and Ragusa Superiore and Ragusa Ibla were fine examples to see Sicily's splendid architecture. Well done De Stefano, truly recommended.

Absolutely top notch. My husband and I first came to Ragusa 12 years ago. Much has changed but thankfully much has stayed the same in the town. We were happy to discover Itria Palace when we were planning our itinerary. We stayed in a family room that consisted of two rooms, three beds and two showers. The room was accessible by stairs or lift. It was quiet, clean, super comfortable bed and pillows with very cold air conditioning. Breakfast in the morning was delightful featuring plenty of the usual Italian standards but also included local offerings which were delicious. A member of staff was on hand to prepare caffe and cappuccino for guests. We will absolutely return!

This is such a lovely, quiet and convenient spot. Perfectly located just on the edge of the old town, so it is easy to access by car and to park for free and only a very short walk from the old town sites, restaurants and bars. Delightful little park right next door. Exceptionally clean, large, modern room with a big, very comfy bed, couch, lovely little balcony with table and chairs, and large bathroom with modern shower. All kept so clean and well prepaired as if finished yesterday. Our wonderful, friendly host Guiseppe makes your breakfast to order. You'll never forget the fresh warm ricotta and bread rolls, soft boiled eggs and plate of fresh salamis and local cheeses that is on offer. A real find - such very good value too - and highly recommended to anyone spending two or three days or longer in Ragusa, which is not only a perfect baroque town in itself but is beautifully placed to explore far and wide in this special region.

This is my second visit here and it only confirms and emphasizes the magic of the place: The hermits really had it good ;) here… Completely renovated while keeping the style and feeling of centuries of good life, having its own food and wine production, staffed by wonderful helpful personnel and having an excellent restaurant on the premises, Don Eusebio, this place will put to shame any of the super expensive and soul-less newer creatings on the island (think Planeta). Pool, bar, laundry service and enchanted premises, they have it all. Not to mention that they are probably the only luxury hotel with private archeological site AND an airplane ***** for private planes! I’m sure we’ll be back.

It was incredibly quiet in December in Ragusa. We had hotel Sabbinirica nearly to ourselves! One would think that the breakfast and staffing might be scaled back when it is so empty. But the exact opposite was true. The breakfast wasn't only plentiful, but the attention to my husband's gluten and dairy intolerances was more than accommodated to! A different gluten-free torte was provided to him each morning, along with breads, cereals, biscuits, alternative milks ... Everything was immaculate. Our hosts helped to book us different experiences and helped us to find a repair for a flat tire. Our room was warm and cozy, which for a hotel built into a cave - we were worried it might be chilly. They even made our belongings look perfect and quaint in the beautiful room. The bed and linens were so comfortable. The position of the hotel was perfectly in the center of the old town, with beautiful views. We will definitely be back to Ragusa and we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else!

We loved this B&B in Ragusa. Although the location is very good to get to the city by car, it is a little claimed from Ibla that is the most charming part of Ragusa, especially to make the walk, although there is public transport that connects both parts of the city. This is the only one but. Otherwise everything is perfect. Andrea, a great host, very kind, he served us wonderfully and even accompanied us to leave the car parked near the accommodation, in the free area. The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable.

Un placer haber estado en este magnífico B&B. Habitaciones limpias, acogedoras y una cama que te envuelve!. Pero si hay algo que destacará es el personal que lo regenta, una pequeña familia que te facilita y te ameniza la estancia. El desayuno ha sido una sorpresa cada día que pasaba, nos han dado a probar todo tipo de quesos, panes y bollería. Además de ofrecernos todo tipo de postres y detalles de pascua 🙌😍. Volveremos en el caso de repetir en Sicília

Nice location, clean and with attentive breakfast bar and reception staff. The swimming pool is comfortable and has plenty of deckchairs and shaded areas, although a little dated. The restaurant is no longer starred but you can eat excellent expertly prepared meat. The location is quiet, even if in August there is logically more and more confusion. In the evening it is cool, so we recommend a jacket. We spent a relaxing weekend!
