There are so many hotel choices here in Danbury and this I believe is most likely the very worse choice. When initially checking in the front desk staff was amazing and kind. I asked for a late check out which was happily granted but the following morning I was greeted with constant knocks at the door from who I am guessing was the Housekeeping staff. After the first knock, I was unable to get back to sleep and just decided to relax instead. Shortly thereafter, there was yet another knock at the door and I finally decided to call the front desk to make certain that my late check out request was indeed being honored. The front desk agent assured me that it was but I shared with her that someone keeps knocking at the door. She assured me that it wouldn't happen again. Not even 5 minutes later there was extremely loud banging at the door, which quite frankly scared me. When I asked who it was, they stated they were Security and I need to leave right now. I opened the door to a woman and an extremely large male who got in my face and said I needed to leave right now. I asked them what they were talking about and they stated that check out time was at Noon and I need to leave. When I told them that I had been granted a late check out for 1:00 p.m., they said that was not accurate and I need to leave. This experience was extremely unsettling. To have someone constantly knocking at the door when I was there all alone had me so nervous. Safety is first and foremost for me and opening doors for strangers is absolutely out of the question. The bottom line is this. Either this was a great miscommunication or someone thought this to be some sort of sick joke. I am nervous enough traveling alone and this ordeal has me realize that a stay at a lower star hotel, even if owned by Wyndham is not the best idea. Search for other accommodations this is not a good choice for a hotel.

I've stayed at this hotel in the past and grew up in the area. I'm surprised at the reviews, honestly. Front desk staff couldn't care less and played on their phones more than they cared for the guests in front of them. Evening attendant, Jordy, while trying to be helpful, encountered a lack of parking one night and was unable to manage how to deal with the customers. I sat in the lobby eating dinner while more customers arrived. As a customer service manager, I came close to stepping in myself to respectfully contact these very obnoxious, disrespectful and entitled people. A conference was taking place which took up most spaces but they weren't set to end until 9PM; guests waiting in the lobby were tired and frustrated. However, several boaters couldn't park, taking up multiple spaces and running extension cords from their rooms to charge their batteries. I was advised the hotel couldn't do anything about it. I encountered several homeless people who were provided housing allowances by various charities in the area. They took advantage of the breakfast by taking plates of food to their room which explained lack of food for other guests. I asked on several occasions if they could refill the muffins, but the front desk advised once it was depleted, that was it. Be prepared. I'm sure you have refrigerators and storage. You are well-aware of guest count prior to purchasing food. If not able to provide, lower rates and don't advertise breakfast. My floor smelled like smoke and ********* and no one could "pin down where it came from." I would imagine the cleaning staff would be able to narrow it down fairly quickly? I travel frequently and it appears the owner, while having responsibility to the Best Western brand, has checked out, most likely relying on staff to fix problems. I suggest he/she walk rooms and property more frequently to ensure they are well-kept - not just "satisfactory." I paid $379 for a 4-day stay. Travelers have choices; I grew up in Danbury and return to the area frequently from my home in Texas and need to reconsider my options. You've lost my loyalty.

This was the 3rd time that we've held a large conference at Heritage. Many of us stay over the night before. The guest suites and rooms have everything that you could need, and they're comfortable and clean. We enjoy eating at the Tavern and also visiting nearby restaurants. We appreciate the complimentary coffee in the lobby! The Heritage staff make you want to come back. They are a group of friendly and organized people who will do anything for you. They are a large part of what makes the experience so positive. I hope that I don't leave anyone out, but would like to thank Linda, Dereck, Kevin, Christine, Greta, Kaitlyn (sp?Front desk) Chris (Trivia) and the lovely woman from Atlanta that was our server in the Tavern!

I am elite member so stay at Marriott’s frequently. This was a terrible stay. Asked for a shower chair as I have at numerous Marriott’s throughout the country and first was told they don’t have any. Later tod don’t use them because people got hurt. This makes no sense changes of getting hurt without it are the greater risk. We enjoy that Marriott’s have Netflix l it wasn’t working the first night. I was told that they were working on it. The next day after further questioning was told that they hadn’t had it for awhile and had no idea when it would be fixed. “It was between there vendors”. Housekeeping is only given if you requested it. I requested it at 8 am to be as soon as they could because we were going out. Returned 6 hours later and it still wasn’t done. I was told they were short staffed. Tried to eat at their Bistro restaurant the first night and was told it was closed so staff could use. The restaurant was really a stand with very few items, not really a restaurant. Expressed by concern to manager and she displayed no interest. The next day I spoke with assistant manager and told her they should inform guests they do not have the advertised services,so we were given the opportunity to book elsewhere. She offered bonus points. There are other hotels in the area which provide better services,
