First visit to Rome and I wasn't disappointed. This hotel is excellent and not expensive. Clean rooms, nice breakfast and very helpful man on reception to help you find your way around. Quite close to the tram route to central Rome. Our flight wasn't until the evening but reception let us store our cases and allowed us to have a late shower and supplied towels. Recommended.

Accommodation is always important and I must say I had a great experience with this hostel. Sometimes I even forgot it was a hostel. I had a single room and a private bathroom. The room was small and cute. Always clean and housekeeping came everyday. I was reluctant to choose a hostel when visiting Rome because I had a unpleasant experience when I visited Sydney but if other hostels provided the attention I was given such as Radio hotel, I would most certainly not be reluctant prior to booking. There was a little issue with a small leak from the bidet in the bathroom and when I mentioned it to the front desk, it was fixed immediately. Every single person I encountered at the front desk were very nice and provided me with great detail how to explore the city and best travel options to get there. As a single female traveler I did not feel uncomfortable at any time. The train station near to this hostel is Roma Travestere. About a 8 minute walk or so from the hostel which you can buy train tickets to visit other cities if you wish. There is also the number 8 tram near the train station which will take you directly into the hotspot where you can roam and see great sites like the Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps etc. Thumbs up to this place.

Our host, Raluca was a delight to work with. We had never rented an apartment in Europe. We were in Rome for a short term stay (6-7 nights), and we were VERY pleasantly surprised with our apartment. It was very clean, spacious and in a great neighborhood; it had a lot of modern comforts (washing machine, dishwasher, large refrigerator, wifi, multiple TVS etc/ and surprising extras (a large container of coffee to brew in the moka pot in the kitchenette, soft drinks, bottled water, packages of toast, jam and Nutella, nice selection of conditioning shampoo, soaps, etc. in both bathrooms, robes, slippers, etc,). Saw other reviews saying it was not close to anything-- this is NOT true. the #8 and #3 trams will get you to Piazza Venezia, Colosseum and other places within a few minutes. The neighborhood that this large apartment was located in was a quiet neighborhood where it was mainly Italians living there (we loved the fact that we were living like locals not jammed into the tourist areas with a bunch of Americans -we are Americans so we wanted to experience Rome differently). There was a grocery store next to our apartment building, a pizza place under our apartment building that was great-- excellent take out pizza slices, a delicious pastry, gelato and coffee place next to the pizza, a good family owned restaurant next to that. Raluca was a wealth of info. She recommended some neighborhood restaurants that were excellent and even gave us some discount cards for some of them. Raluca also changed out the internet and wifi router and got upgraded service toward the end of our stay. We were having problems staying connected with the wifi at first but with the changes she made it worked super fast and reliably. Raluca even called a friend at Caffe Propaganda (near the Colosseum which was near where my daughter was living and studying) to help arrange for a nice dinner for our daughter and her study abroad friends that was super nice and special (we had 12 people)! She also arranged for a car/van to pick us up at the airport which was nice since we had a long flight from the USA and it was a lot more reasonably priced than a taxi. She also helped us get a car to the train station when we were leaving for the Amalfi Coast. We stayed in the Purple Suite which had 2 bedroom and 2 baths and a balcony. The washing machine was so convenient and we used it several times. We would DEFINITELY stay here again. There is an elevator, but we only used it twice when we were carrying in and out our luggage. Don't be scared by the reviews about the neighborhood being far from stuff. If you can't walk or don't want to use the trams then maybe its not for you (but then Rome might not be a good choice either as its an old city and not ADA compliant). We loved walking and using the trams. Rome is an old city full of hills and stairs and we justified all the pasta and pizza and gelato we ate because we walked 3-12 miles a day (that was our choice though--

We stayed just one night but would definitely come back. It's got a direct 25 minute train from fiumicino airport and a great location to explore. It's not a far walk into pretty travestere and it is next to a major train station and tram stop too. We stayed here and found it very easy to visit the vatican. One stop on train or a beautiful walk. Marco was an excellent host. The room had everything we could need and more. Very very clean. Very comfortable bed. TV with netflix. Mini bar, kettle, tea, coffee machine, hairdryer, everything. Very impressed and great value. It felt very secure too. I was able to leave my bags on the day I checked out and had very good check in and check out times. Thanks again 10/10. Sara

+ 1) Nice place 2) Good beds 3) Cute balcony 4) Very friendly cleaning-lady (but she doesn't speak English) 5) You can keep your baggage after check-out - 1) We had chosen this place because of the payment with the card and because of coffee machine. Just before our check-in we had received sms that we have to pay with a cash. That was highly disappointed, but we had no time to change the hotel. We thinked, that we could have a cup of coffee after a long trip, but were forced to seek cash machine nearby and to loose some money on the bank's commission. 2) The second big disapointment - there was no coffee capsuls the whole week we lived. And Leonardo unfriendly answered about this that it is not his problem. 3) Place is situated far from the center of real trastevere. 4) Very noisy. Noise from the neighbors and from the street. 5) Ants 6) Bad breakfast

This is the worst experience I've ever had traveling over 30+ years. This is NOT a hotel or "guest house". This is a low rent apartment converted to rooms. Dark and dingy. There's no sound proofing between walls, so any little noise is amplified. Was yelled at and mistreated at check in for questioning additional city tax and asking for further information which was NOT stated in my confirmation emails. I even pulled up all my emails to show the receptionist that it stated paid in full. He wasn't able to explain anything, so he put Anna on the phone, who started to aggressively yell at me. It wasn't until nearly 20 minutes later that I finally found general information online about the additional city tax. On the booking site, and in their own notes, it states information on additional charges such as late check-in fees, etc, but NO INFO on the (hidden) city tax per person, per night fee. Also would like to clarify that a "guest house" connotes a warm, family-like atmosphere. Being yelled at on the phone is not welcoming. The white leather couch at the entrance was disgustingly dirty. Once we were "checked in" there was no one there providing any service or oversight. Oh wait, there's cameras, so it's a "guest house". Let's be clear too, this is an OLD APARTMENT (not in the charming sense) in the center of Rome, chopped up into 4 rooms. They are renovated but have very poor ventilation, and as a consequence our bathroom floor and shower was MOLDY. What concerned me the most, however, was that the young man at makeshift "front desk" entered our room and I had to ask him to leave immediately. Very uncomfortable and unprofessional. When I told him his behavior was unacceptable, at first he arrogantly blowed it off, until I threatened to call the police. Suddenly he quieted down. It was like talking to a misbehaved child. Something felt very weird about the whole exchange, and when I went back to the room immediately called my husband to find us a new hotel. I checked the reviews, which we should have looked at initially, and noticed a similar pattern. At first the apartment owner (father of the 30 year old young man who checked us in) refused to cancel our booking, and said his son was "only trying to show us how to use the coffee maker". Total lie, since he never mentioned it at all and my daughter is witness to his entering our room. Creepy experience. Thank God we were only there one night, and were able to move to a new hotel around the corner. I left a review at hotels.com, and you can read Anna's response. It's telling how she bulletpoints each concern with a rebuttal, like it's my fault for not knowing about the city tax, when it's NOT in the confirmation email, and somehow the guy entering our room turns into "showing us how to use the air conditioning". No, that's not what happened at all. I told the receptionist I was going to leave a negative review AFTER he entered our room. I would never advise two women to stay at this hotel

If you want the real Wow factor, this has got it all. Starting with a tour through the museum of art and sculpture, the amazing frescos, wall hangings and mosaics are just the preparation for the Sistine Chapel. The completion of your visit will be the breathtaking inside of St Peters Basilica. If you like St Paul’s Cathedral in London, this is bigger, better and full of light. You will need a minimum of 3 hours to do it justice and if you do not want to wait in massive queues then get an advance ticket. Be prepared for airport style security on entrance and you may use camera and video without flash except for in the Sistine Chapel where this is not permitted. Clothing must be respectful, shoulders and knees covered.

Trevi Fountain Surrounding
Just come back from a 4 day trip to Rome. The Chic and Town hotel is in a perfect position for everything. A 5 minute walk to the Spanish steps and piazza Spagna where there are plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops and bars. The Metro station is also in the piazza Spagna and it is 2 stops from The Vatican and a few stops from the Colleseum and very easy to use. The Trevi fountain is also about a 5 minute walk in the other direction. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable and they provide toiletries and a hairdryer. Also tea coffee and a few snacks. Breakfast is in a little cafe across the road and you can get a hot drink, juice, a croissant and a toasted sandwich (if you can eat all that in the morning)! The cafe is nice as it's authentically Italian with all the locals standing up at the counter to drink their coffee as they do. The staff in the Hotel were very friendly and helpful with lots of information of how to get about and things to see, they all spoke good English too. We hired a private transfer to the hotel and it took us straight to the door as I had read other reviews that it was difficult to find but not for us. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Rome. If you want English speaking tours I recommend Angel tours, they are very good.

Where to begin? I spent nearly a week here on a business trip. For the most part, the hotel itself is fine — although it’s definitely not in a convenient area if you’re looking to visit the city. You’re looking at about 20-30 euros into town by taxi, and taking public transportation is pretty much out of the question, unless you want to ride the bus. It’s clean, and I don’t really have many complaints about the property itself. Yes, the showers are small, as another review noted, but that’s the case in most of Europe. Yes, there is a restaurant in the building, but it’s not part of the hotel — meaning you have to pay for it separately. There’s also a small vending machine with snacks, but you’d better be prepared with cash in the form of coins. I made a point to withdraw cash from an ATM, but on two separate occasions the person at the front desk declined to let me exchange paper money for coins. Is that such an unusual request? Another review also noted the lack of irons in the rooms, and this is true as well. They have these large “press” contraptions, which I certainly didn’t have the time or inclination to learn how to use. I asked at the front desk, and they did give me an iron, but apparently they only have one. I know this because they asked for it back later. I will say that the friendliness of the staff leaves a little to be desired. I was scolded twice at breakfast — once for not sitting around the corner in what’s apparently the designated breakfast area. Why the proper area is in a different location from where the breakfast food is laid out is beyond me, and why the person had to be rude about it was more than a little confusing. I was then scolded again for trying to boil an egg in their little tank. It seems that breakfast was scheduled to end in 15 minutes, and she’d already turned it off. Again, why is there a need to be rude? To a certain extent, I get it. This is a different culture, and other countries don’t necessarily subscribe to the “the customer is always right” attitude of America. I would never suggest that someone change their culture to accommodate visitors, but I don’t see why a little politeness should be out of the question when you’re operating a place that’s sure to get customers from other countries.

The level of service from the staff at JK place, would put most hotels to shame! Attentive, but not intrusive and nothing was too much trouble. Our initial room (a JK Deluxe) was very nice, but had internal views and frosted glass windows. As light sleepers we found it a tad noisy during the night and the Hotel gladly moved us to a different room on a higher floor. We were presented with a small bottle of Spumante and fruit plate. The well stocked mini bar was also complimentary, which is a nice touch. Food was excellent within the hotel (breakfast and lunch) and the Hotel readily made suggestions for other restaurants in the city and made reservations. The location was ideal for city break travellers with many attractions and more importantly shops, within easy walking distance. Yes, it’s (reassuringly) expensive, and in my opinion worthy of the price. Would we recommend, YES!

I’ve seen bad reviews in here that kinda scared me but I went there anyway. I liked it. The room was tiny but not in that way that you feel traped. It was really clean when we arrived and cleaned everyday after that. We stayed in room 32(3rd floor). The walls were kinda thin and we could hear the noises from the other rooms but after all the walking in Rome you feel so tired at the end of the day that you will sleep anyway:)). They had only 2 blankets and, although the room was warm(you can set the temperature) I was still cold and asked for another blanket. They gave me one in no time, so I can say the stuff was very nice. When we arrived at the reception there was warm cinnamon tea. The breakfast was ok, lots of pastries. If you stay here PLEASE go inside of the church. You’ll pass it everyday and won’t give it attention but it’s so BEAUTIFUL inside!!!! So go see it & have a nice trip

On arrival we were offered froendly welcome with complimentary cappuccinos in the library. We were given a little map and kindly shown all points of interest which was very handy for our first visit to Rome. We stayed in the junior suite which was modern and spotlessly clean with extremely comfortable furnishings and a huge bed. Our bathroom had a massive walk-in shower with gorgeous toiletries to use. Breakfast is truly scrumptious with a few hot options including delicious scrambled eggs (our favourite), pastries, cereals, fruit, a variety of breads, croissants, jams, yoghurts, cheeses, ham and of course their amazing cappuccinos. Make sure you visit the roof top terrace to take in the awesome views; sunsets are breathtaking across the city. Martis Palace Hotel is, in our opinion, in the perfect location to explore. Most places are no more than 20 mins walk away and it is the best way to see everything. We only caught a taxi once (but only as we had an early tour at The Vatican City) but walked back. As we left at 0700hrs for the tour, we were offered a 'takeaway' breakfast as we had no time to eat in the hotel. Perfect for us and we could not believe how much was included, such a generous amount and all so fresh and tasty. All staff could not have been more helpful, including storing our luggage in a safe place on our last day, to collect for our late flight. Special thanks to Carlo for looking after us. I hope to return again next year and will definitely be back in touch again. Martis Palace Hotel is highly recommended by us.

This hotel is in the San Lorenzo neighbourhood, which is a 20 minute walk from Roma Termini. Upon arrival I was met with welcoming staff who were very responsive and polite. The woman at the desk gave lots of advice about transport routes, shopping and attractions which was extremely helpful. I was in a wonderful, spotlessly clean room with a modern interior. My bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was impeccably clean. There was storage for clothes and a safe for valuables. Opposite the bed there was a large SMART TV with free WiFi (very fast) which is a brilliant feature. It was wonderful to be able to come back after a long day walking around Rome, to wind down to a movie. The option of air conditioning/heating control was great. There was no view from the window (as expected, given the location). But do not be put off by this! The hotel is in a fairly quiet area, which offers a better nights sleep compared to busier, more central hotels (right next to Termini for example). I had the breakfast buffet which had mostly continental options with limited options for vegetarians/vegans. I was disappointed that the only hot food available for vegetarians was scrambled eggs, but I am sure that the hotel would be able to accommodate dietary requirements upon request (as stated on their website). I was not too bothered as the selection of pastries and breads made up for this! Overall, I would not hesitate to book a room with this group again. I highly recommend this place is you are visiting Rome. I have no real complaints!

My girlfriend and I arrived here late after a long drive down from the Amalfi coast. On arrival, Giorgio made us feel welcomed and relaxed. He was excellent and advising how best to spend our two days in Rome and also gave us great advice on public transport as well as great inexpensive restaurants to try that wouldn't just be tourist traps or needlessly expensive (especially as we are two travellers on a strict budget). He also tried to fix our AC as it wasn't working properly meaning our room was more akin to a sauna - not ideal when it is still nearly 25 degrees at 10pm. He offered to move us and dragged our heavy cases up and down flights of stairs and through narrow doorways to make sure we were comfortable here. Genuinely a lovely guy and I would certainly stay here again when we return to Rome in future. The rooms are basic but ideal for a cheaper alternative and those who want to make their money go a little further. The restaurant he recommended was delicious and only set us back €35 for two arge pasta dishes, a side of bruschetta, two large beers and a table water. Pretty good for a European capital in the height of August. Thank you for your outstanding service, Giorgio - from two very satisfied customers!

Location was awesome! In Italy, when you check-out, you have to pay the tourists tax, which is 6€/person/day, and has nothing to do with the hotel policy of them trying to rob you? Cant believe those people writing that! Please read your offer of terms and conditions, so probably the things will be clear for you. And no one can fool you then. Stayed here for a night because we were planning to take the train from Roma Termini the next day. It was so convenient - we got off the Leonardo Express at Termini and reached the hotel on foot within 5 minutes. Front desk staff was very warm and friendly, and gave us lots of tips on where to go during the short time we had in Rome. It was walkable to lots of things to eat and do - for example, we got to the Spanish Steps in 15 minutes on foot at a relaxed pace. Room was very comfortable and clean. We had a lovely complimentary breakfast delivered straight to our room on a tray - I loved the way they let us order, by ticking boxes on a sign and hanging it outside the door (if you are really hungry you can order as much as you want!) The staff were kind enough to let us get breakfast at 645am so that we could catch our early train, even though usually breakfast starts at 7am. The only things that could be improved are that the pillows are quite flat, and in our room the water temperature ran hot and cold rather unpredictably. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.

Only a 150 meters from the metro and great night life just a block away. Lost of local eateries. Simple breakfast nook, just enough to get the day started. Staff was friendly and at your call on the phone. Warning, if you are a needy traveler who requires constant front desk service, this is not for you. If you are an independent traveler who can make your own plans and make your own way. Fantastic place. Don't get me wrong, if you need help, the staff is only a phone call or email away and they were very helpful with check in and checkout, they are just not sitting at a vacant front desk. Our family of 6 stayed at this boutique hotel for four nights during our trip to Italy last summer. We chose this hotel based on its location and amenities and we were not disappointed. The hotel is situated on a quiet street near Barbarini Square which has a metro stop and taxi stand. It is a ten minute walk to the Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain. The hotel itself is beautiful and modern. The rooms are larger than rooms we stayed in other hotels while on our trip with nice bathrooms and very comfy beds. The rooms were quiet due to its location and excellent soundproofing between rooms. The breakfasts were in the lower section of the hotel with indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good and we never had to wait for a table. We particularly enjoyed the rooftop bar where we would gather for drinks before heading out to dinner. The staff at the hotel were both helpful and friendly. One of our daughters left her retainer in the room and the hotel staff found it and shipped it back to the United States along with a few other items we had left and not realized. One downside was in the evenings the front desk struggled to get us taxis to get to our dinners. Sometimes we would have to wait 30 minutes. The staff tried their best to get them, but they just had a hard time getting them there. I am not sure if it was because of the location of the hotel or if it is just difficult to get taxis at that time of day. Overall, this was an exceptional stay for us and would definitely stay here again.

Like so much of Rome the outside of a building gives so little by way of a clue as to what’s inside. This is an amazing building on the inside. How it was ever built is beyond understanding without the tools available today. A feast for the eyes. We would have liked to have been inside when it’s raining to see what happens though.

Via Veneto
This is a lovely, clean hotel in the Trevi Area of Rome. It’s 2 apartments that have been refurbished into a hotel with a reception desk, about 9 rooms and a small breakfast area. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful in booking restaurants and helping us navigate our way through Rome. The room we had was very clean, with a great shower. I do think we got the smallest room, which was really small. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Decor was contemporary and neat. The breakfast was simple, fresh and tasty. The staff leave mid evening and there is no night service, so you might want think about this if you prefer 24/7 service. However this seems to be the norm in theses smaller boutique style hotels. All in all a very pleasant stay, though you might want to request a bigger room.

Navona
The Navona Grand Suite is a perfect place to stay whilst in Rome. 10mins walk to Piatza Navona and 10mins to the Pantheon. Just out of the hustle and bustle of all the tourists. Great places to eat round the corner from the hotel. The building was in the film Eat pray love. To find the suites there is a large grey door between della Portugese and della Orzo. The sites are access behind the door, use the intercom on the left. We will definitely book here again as we felt more like locals than tourists. The rooms are quiet and spacious, towels changed daily and all staff very friendly.

FENDI's first concept hotel in the world is more like a lifestyle experience hall. A full set of Fendi Casa, Karl Lagerfeld photography works, unique lamps, fur stitching, artwork... Because the hotel has only 7 suites, and they are all located on the same floor, it feels more at home, and the public space is more like a big house The living room, corridor, living room...a bit of living under the same roof, the decoration details are very exquisite, and it beats the Armani hotel🤘 The only problem is that there are no children's slippers, toothbrushes, etc., the bar on the top floor is like a nightclub, and children are not allowed to enter...

The property and host are amazing. Beautiful, cozy and luxurious rooms, comfort and pleasure of stay guaranteed. We stayed in a double room with a balcony with view on the Pantheon's roof. Beautiful room colors, decorations, good equipment (wardrobe, TV, kettle). Nice bathroom with travertine walls. A very comfortable bed. Breakfast was very tasty and consisted of sweetness but also Italian meats, cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, yoghurts, jams etc. Although we spent only one night in this hotel, it was a nice experience. The location is amazing, only a few steps from the Pantheon, but the street is quiet.. Most importantly, the entire check-in process was efficient, quick and the host very nice and professional. Thank you for the conversation and next time we will see you in Sardinia :)

Always a debate to stay in a hotel or in an apartment. In case of Rome, we decided to stay in this apartment, and we never regret. Owners always ready to help you with your inquiry. Good breakfast, excellent coffee, and small kitchen with few pans and pots, so you can cook for yourself. We did it. Like anywhere in Rome, if you are a light sleeper, ask for an apartment at the higher floor. Very unique even for Rome hotels, card reader to your room. You always feel safe and private. No problem with wi-fi. I recommend it, and if we visit Rome again we will stay there. Close to metro station. 5 min to Via del Corso, famous prestigious boutique center. Walking distance to places like Fontana di Trevi, Spanish Steps, nice walking through Rome to Piazza Navone and/or Pantheon. Many off touristy pizzeria, local small “deli”, and restaurants.

Trevi Fountain Surrounding
The location is fantastic. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The room was nothing like what was advertised, which I always have problems with, but in this case this was not in a bad way! The room was nice, decorated lovely. It was big, very clean and from the window when opened you can see the side of Trevi Fountain. We had a jacuzzi bath in the corner, which was a nice surprise! There was a kettle for hot water or tea and a small fridge. There was a large tele and a safe. When we required an iron , the office staff provided immediately. The towels were a nice size and replaced daily. The large comfortable bed was made up daily for us. There was heat/air con easy to adjust as required. The bathroom was large and very well appointed. There was keyless entry and exit to the room. The staff made check out easy and even kept our bags for us for a few hours as we were not flying to evening. Lovely friendly and helpful making it a pleasure to stay here. Improvements: there was a bit of mould on the ceiling in the bathroom, and the shower door was not fitted properly which made the water fall out onto the floor sometimes. Not a problem for us but just to note leave towels on floor so you will not slip. I also felt a tad unsafe as there was no interior locking mechanism for when we were in the room (which is standard in every place globally I have ever stayed). We didn’t sleep well without the comfort of an interior locking mechanism for our own protection. To note this room, while perfect for most , is not for disabled or elderly as there are narrow steps up to it; so you should note to owner if this may be a problem for you. I saw that the owners have several rooms of varying types in this building and they might be better suited.

Very good location- close to Vatican and the fountain. Not super close to the main station though (40 minute walk) but a bus station was right outside The continental breakfast was really nice- good assortment of different foods. They have a nice balcony you can eat on. The doors were initially a bit hard to open but after a few tries you get the hang of it The front desk person is not there most of the time. We only saw her at breakfast so if you really need something it will take some effort The room was clean and nice. Good ac. The mural on the ceiling was interesting Would stay again!

The wifi didn’t work in my room at all for the whole 4 nights I stayed there, which meant that I had to use expensive data roaming on my mobile (or sit in the cramped reception where the wifi did work), even after speaking with 2 different members of staff about it on different occasions, and having been assured by them that it would be working again shortly. The hair dryer didn’t work, the bathroom had a bad smell to it, the shower curtain wasn’t wide enough to prevent water spraying over the floor when showering, the room’s curtain adjuster cords didn’t work, the windows didn’t shut fully which meant listening to the noise of people and traffic outside while trying to sleep, the walls are thin which means hearing the people in the adjacent room, and one morning there was no hot water, which meant a cold shower. It seems that they have not addressed problems which have been mentioned long ago on Trip Advisor reviews. There were some willing and helpful receptionists, but one was particularly lacklustre and unhelpful.

Really nice people. Very clean. Amazing location. TERRIBLE breakfast. Everything was very nice apart from breakfast. I am saying this because we book this and it said: Breakfast included. That was not true! The breakfast was vouchers to go to the corner ice cream shop and have 1 coffee and 1 croissant which could not be changed. What I mean is when I asked for a latte the person said NO. You can only have 1 MINI cappuccino and 1 croissant. Nothing else and no changes. That was really poor and unfair when we bought “breakfast included”. In the B&B, room, people and location are super nice. But the “complimentary” mini cappuccino with a croissant was a joke. If you want a place to stay without breakfast stay here. But do not pay for breakfast and if it is not possible to keep it out don’t do this. Not mentioning that the place where you go for the coffee are so rude. (I don’t think they are related to the B&B at all - at least I hope not) To the Juno Pantheon - please fix this issue with breakfast. Either do not charge it or make it properly.
