Hotels Near Vin O Vin In Hamburg
0.25km from Vin O VinThe torture Hamburg is locatated near Gänsemarkt making it ideal for anyone to explore the city. It is located within a historic passage that is especially during Christmas beautifully decorated with a large Christmas tree in the centre. The hotel room had very high walls (which made the room appear very large) and was decorated in an elegant stilish way that made us feel comfortable. The room was extremely clean and the ground heating made us feel immediately warm after a clod day in Hamburg. The Torture Hotel offers a great breakfast that is a combination of buffet and a la card. The a la card options were excellent, especially the french roast was one of the best we had so far. The buffet had great fresh options such as home made jam and honey. Overall this breakfast was better than we have often experienced in larger hotels given the fact that most food was made freshly and a large selection was available. We would like to come back to this hotel for our next hamburg visit and would recommend the Torture to anyone who is looking for a unique luxury experience.
0.31km from Vin O VinI've stayed in several different hotels in Hamburg on business but this was my first trip as a tourist and I have to say this is now my favourite hotel in Hamburg. It is very close to the S-bahn so moving around is easy, and the main shopping street for wealthy people (Alter Wall). Check in was much easier than I'd expected from reading other reviews and the bar staff were super helpful and friendly, although I did notice a crush when there were quite a few guests who arrived at the same time (just like any other check in). The room was modern and overlooked the canal. The bed was VERY comfortable with plenty of pillow options. I guess the only aspect of the room which could put some people off was the glass walled shower and a separate, semi-frosted glass toilet, although both these had modesty curtains in case you are shy or dont know the person you ae staying with very well (in a double bed!!). My wife and I didn't eat in the hotel because it was Christmas market time and we had loads of German sausage but we did drink there a couple of nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The only (minor) gripe would be that the direction to the rooms from the bar area could be improved. However, we both loved the quirky sayings everywhere and the fact that the hotel has a very different decor to anywhere else we've stayed. We will definitely seek to stay here again when I return to Hamburg.
0.31km from Vin O VinI had book this hotel for a family trip to Hamburg - and this specific hotel as I thought I could expect the regular Marriott experience .. Boy, was I wrong! At arrivial we learn that almost all facilities are closed - they could have told be at the time of booking - as I have found out that they were all closed at that time. The Front of house wasen't even sorry... anyway The room was spartan but big two big beds and one chair -that's it .. semi clean The first night there we decided to sit in the Bar after en excellent dinner in town, but what a mistake. With only few guests and almost as many staff, the service was horrible... we waited for 38 min for a pint and soda and an cocktail. There is no music - an effort to make things cozy would have been cool - the Bar was so quiet that we could hear the guys in the back of house laughing and doing dishes or something similar - not what you would expect in the Bar at this kind of hotel The Corona BOMB - there is absolutly NO cleaning - NO disenfection - anyware The tables in the restaurnt / Bar are NOT cleaned between guests. The entrance doors are NOT cleand / disenfected - we sat outside for little over an hour, with countless guests passing - all touching the doors - never cleaned The calling buttons at the lift - not cleaned Guys, this is how you get infected!! The "Breakfast" is a JOKE - a plate of cheep "Bake Off" bread, old stiff cheese and ham, a instant powder scramble eggs .. food arriving before your drinks... even after more than an hour of waiting - com'on - this is not "Rocket Science" I had an conversation with their "Guest Service Manager" before check out and expressed my disappoinment - to his HUGE surprice - only to find the same manager comment on several similar complaints on this and other websites This was my absolut last stay at this hotel
0.35km from Vin O VinScandic is a new chain tried out in 2020 for us. Positively impressed with great rooms, good Covid-19 handling and an adequate useful location for walks through the city of hamburg. Spacy rooms, great bathroom, the upgrade to a superior level to hold a family of 3 was good. Suits well as business as family hotel. We had breakfast included, price value is good, less then other major international chains ... one drawback though ... the fried eggs were cold when held ready under the heating lamp.
0.36km from Vin O VinWe stayed in Hamburg for a three night weekend in early September and selected The Renaissance based on location reviews. It’s in the New Town area, but just a few hundred meters away from the Old Town area. I booked the lowest category (Broschek Smaller Guest Room), but as a Bonvoy Platinum member, I was upgraded two levels up to a Superior Room two days before check-in (saw in the app). It was a corner room and very large for European standards, though the bathroom was quite small. They did provide cleaning service while we were there, which is not the case with all hotels during the COVID-19 era. We also got 16:00 late checkout and a €10 F&B credit. Breakfast was included in the room rate, so we got points instead. The buffet is not offered due to government restrictions, but rather, it was a continental table service with a lovely savory and sweet bread basket, jams, Nutella, sliced deli meats and cheeses, with a choice of eggs (and bacon if you wish) - scrambled, boiled, fried, or even a simple ham and cheese omelet. I think you could also request fruit and yoghurt. We never did, but saw it at another table, so I cannot be 100% certain of this. We were quite satisfied with the offerings, but maybe others who are used to grand buffets may feel underwhelmed. Breakfast gets busy from 9:00-10:30 and you will likely have to queue for a table. Once seated, they are pretty fast with service. I would suggest going around 8:45 or earlier to avoid a long wait. We went at 9:20ish one day and waited about 10 minutes, but when we finished around 10:15, the queue had tripled. You can also request breakfast be delivered to your room at no charge, but you must request it by 22:00 the evening before. The restaurant is closed, but the bar is open and serving a small food offering. The same menu is available as room service from 10:00-22:00 (see photo). So why only 4/5 rating? For non-peak travel in September, it was rather pricey, especially for a smaller, boutique-like hotel with not many amenities (closed restaurant, limited bar offerings, no lounge, need to go to the Marriott to use the pool, gym, sauna — when it’s open considering covid).
0.43km from Vin O VinMy wife and I spent 3 nights at this excellent hotel. It is only a fifteen minute from the city centre, but a quiet place to retreat to. The Reception staff were extremely helpful and Celina was outstanding. All had an excellent command of English. Our room was spacious, well appointed and spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was very comprehensive and the staff very accommodating. The bar staff were also very friendly. Sebastian was brilliant as were his colleagues. We had a meal there on one evening which was excellent. I would have no hesitation in strongly recommending this excellent hotel.
0.46km from Vin O VinGood location, close to the subway station, it is convenient to go to the main attractions. Bring your child with an extra bed. But I felt very unclean. I was bitten by a few packs when I slept one night. It is estimated that there are any bugs. The air conditioning in the room can no longer be noisy. Turning on the air conditioner is just a feeling of passing the plane. Everyone can't sleep, and they have to turn off the air conditioner to sleep. Living in so many hotels, this air conditioning noise is the only one I can't stand. In addition, breakfast is very general, not as good as many four-star hotels, very few varieties, hot dishes only mushrooms, small sausages, fried potatoes, English soy beans, tomatoes, bacon, small meatloaf, the appearance can only be said to be very general, especially It is a bad taste of western-style omelet. If you need a mirror egg and a quiche, you have a person who is responsible for doing it. On the first day of breakfast, even a limited number of hot dishes, the results were not out of stock. The breakfast service staff felt that the facial expression was heavy and there was no smile. Seeing the hotel guests was like seeing a transparent person. In short, I can't believe this hotel is a five-star.
0.46km from Vin O VinGreat hotel, staf was verry friendly. We where with family and the atmosfere in the hotel is nice. Hotel had a good pool and the rooms are also spadille and comfortabele. Parking is around the corner.
0.48km from Vin O VinOur recent stay at the Adina Michel could not be faulted. We were warmly greeted by the reception staff and found the staff in the hotel to be warm and helpful. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which was excellent - incredibly spacious with large living area and all required kitchen facilities. The room and hotel are spotless. The location is excellent. Less than 10 minutes walk from the closest train station (Stadthausbrüke), the hotel is a 5 minute walk from St Pauli / the Reeperban, 10 minutes from the port which has been regenerated - there are nice bars / cafes along the waterfront behind the hard rock cafe. It is about a 20 minute walk from the city centre / shopping district and about 10 minutes from the Portugese quarter. It was a truly excellent base to explore Hamburg. As with most hotels in Hamburg, breakfast is a bit pricey but there are lots of cafes etc near by and there is a supermarket around the corner which has pastries etc so plenty of options. All in all a fab stay.
0.49km from Vin O VinIt is one of the best hotels - in terms of convenience and hospitality - I have stayed for last three years! I greatly appreciate Alina and Cilvia - the stuff from the reception. They are wonderful! I am impressed by their courtesy, kindness, willingness to help and assistance! I suggest the management of the hotel to set them as an example to all the hotel’s stuff. They were very kind to me and as I could notice to all the visitors. The level or customer-focusedness is on the top! The best stuff ever! Now I’m a member of Ascott and would love to stay at your hotels when traveling. I would also like to mention that my room was the most convenient one ever. Everything is made for comfortable living. And the breakfast was awesome: lots to choose and everything is very tasty. And... this idea to let hotel’s guests have a cup of flavored tee at a cosy sofa at the lobby whenever they want - is brilliant indeed. Thank you very much for taking care about your visitors! I really enjoyed my stay and would love to come again!
0.5km from Vin O VinBooked a suite for our family and was told via telephone that it would easily accommodate the 5 of us (2 adult, 3 children). Upon arrival, was made to wait and then told we needed to rent additional room as only 4 were allowed in suite. We were very tired from our international flight and so we complied, figuring that we would speak to a manager and resolve later. The additional room was not ready and so we did not receive the key. I asked the woman at desk to send it up when ready... "You can come down to get it." was her reply. Hmmm... not how I would treat a guest. After a rest, I went to front desk to resolve issue. Upon asking for a manager, Tsvetan [-] (possibly [-]) responded that he was one and how could he help. I explained our situation and he said that was terrible and would see what he would do. No response. I then spoke with Mr. [-], who seemed confused as to why Mr. [-] would claim he was a manager as "he is the same as me." Regardless of title, neither could do anything to help. Mr. [-] then went 5 feet around the corner and explained to Eva [-], manager of guest relations, what my situation was. Ms. [-] wrote her name and email on a slip of paper. Apparently, Ms. [-] was not interesting in coming out to do her job and help a guest resolve an issue that was caused by the Sofitel staff. The amount of miscommunication from staff at this hotel is alarming. I'm still awaiting a response to my emails (email@example.com). Furthermore, when a member of the staff delivered a bar of chocolate at tea time, I requested a second so our children could have enough. With terrible attitude, he explained that it was one per room. Really? Paying over $500 for the night and a bar of chocolate is too much to ask for? An embarrassing example of the lack of hospitality at this hotel. In addition, the lamp above our bed was held together with black electrical tape and the shower floor and pool area could have been much clearner. We have stayed at several Sofitels... this one ruined it for us.
0.56km from Vin O VinFrom the moment we were greeted by the staff to our departure was all faultless. Clean, spacious rooms with more than enough amenities to please even the Grinch on our Christmas Period. The gym has dumbbells, cable crossover machine and a few cardio machines which were enough to keep me and my wife ticking over, the use of the free washroom was a nice touch also not to mention the free hotel minibar. The Hotel’s furnishings incorporate an art decor style whilst keeping the original traits of the building’s heritage such as the 100-year-old doors that lead you to your room. Located within walking distance of all attractions as well as a stocked Supermarket (note: not open on boxing day) were all appreciated. We didn’t need to use public transport but with the rail network running regularly within a minutes walk from the hotel and the Hop on - Hop Off bus stopping along its journey outside, goes without saying all your needs should be catered for.
Hotels Near Vin O Vin In Hamburg Review
This is very much a budget hotel so I didn't expect too much, therefore I wasn't disappointed! My room was clean and functional with a TV and bed and not much more! This didn't really bother me as I was only staying for one night and wasn't going to be spending much time in my room! The reception staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The biggest problem was the lifts! There are just two fairly small lifts serving 12 floors (I was on the 9th!) and seriously you could grow old waiting for one of them to arrive! Then when one does arrive it's already packed!!! I realise that there is nothing that can be done to correct this major flaw in the original planning but should be borne in mind when booking! Breakfast was a decent continental spread and provided the necessary fuel for the day. Overall, this is a decent place to spend the night on a budget.
Hotel lobby and rooms are nicer than what you would expect for the price. The rooms, as most hotel rooms in Hamburg, are not large or luxurious - but they are more than sufficient, with good beds, everything is very well maintained. Decent cable TV, excellent but a bit pricey breakfast buffet (more food options than what you would expect along with some local specialties like herring salad), and best of all, your Intercity room card is also your free ticket to the entire public transportation system, trains, subways, river boats and buses. Public transportation does not use turn styles, its an honor system with spot checks, so you will always have a valid ticket on hand if checked. 4 minutes down a pedestrian street is the Mercado Mall, which has high quality food offerings in a fancy food court setting, from Sushi to Indonesian to Italian, and so on. The neighborhood is full of small specialty shops. I have stayed in this hotel more than a dozen times over the last fifteen years - it is one of the best hotel choices in Hamburg if you want to stay within the $100 a night range, and it is located in the very cool and diverse Altona/Ottensen area of the city. You will not be disappointed.
We booked a Deluxe Room for 4 nights at the end of May (15 days before the reopening of the border between Switzerland and Germany) in the hope to be able to visit Hamburg traveling by car. The bet worked nicely. We managed to cross the German border and on June 27th in the early evening we arrived at the property. Upon parking outside the Hotel we unfortunately faced the disappointment that the Atlantic Hotel is currently undergoing a large overhaul, probably delayed by the corona lockdown. As a matter of fact the whole ground floor currently looks like a large constructions site, with a temporary reception build in the area of the original ballrooms and a maze of construction panels to go thru to reach the elevators. During our stay there were no noises, just some strong glue smell in the lobby on one day and lack of hot water in our room on a morning. We were assigned room 343 which was large, comfortable and quiet but completely empty of any printed leaflet or information brochure. Given the current corona restrictions many services were either not available (pool) or reduced (SPA massages), anyway the hotel looked to us as being understaffed, with single staff apparently serving on long shifts. The paper burden was huge: we were requested to fill in forms with our data on each breakfast, teatime or dinner even as a hotel resident. As no breakfast buffet is currently allowed because of the corona restrictions, breakfast has to be ordered à la carte with three main choices & some extra dishes available. Our experience with the staff was always positive, nevertheless they appeared overwhelmed and some of them even unexperienced. Slow and inattentive interactions were the obvious result, requiring multiple calls to get things done (e.g: obtaining a working ironing board, laundry missing item in a bag of three, forgotten breakfast items, booking a table at the hotel’s restaurant). All in all, even in this complex times we enjoyed visiting Hamburg and Lübeck by train (the railway station is located 10 min. by walk from the hotel) but this stay was absolutely not up to par with the usual Kempinski experience.

Hotel was good and the breakfast was good. However we booked and prepaid via Expedia but after departure they charged me for my room on my credit card despite front desk acknowledging it was prepaid and no charges when we checked out. This is an unauthorised use of my credit card. I emailed the hotel and they didn’t reply, so I had to telephone them. They remember my email and explained it was a billing error. Nobody bothered to acknowledge my email! However this is not acceptable as I have incurred call costs trying to resolve this matter. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels in my lifetime and never experienced this before. Also, they have room service after 12am but don’t offer drinks. Appreciate the bar closes at 12am but guests generally like something to drink with their food even if it’s just a coke.
To compliment the Adina, this aparthotel in Hamburg, the hotel facilities are new and modern. The room type we choose can accommodate four people and is very suitable for travelling with children. Two rooms, the children's room is a double sofa bed, all have a TV. The room has kitchen utensils and is equipped with a dining table chair for cooking. The surrounding traffic is very convenient, next to the street is the "dungeon" restaurant, 10 minutes away from the food supermarket, simply not too convenient, highly recommended.
