I don’t write many reviews. Due to a winter storm I ended up remaining in Hartford. I needed an airport pickup which is provided by the hotel. Except the phone was turned off at the hotel front desk. I tried calling for almost an hour. Finally, I phoned Hilton’s toll free number. The lady there tried calling as well. After trying several different approaches to contact the hotel, the Hilton Toll-free folks contacted a Doubletree around 10 minutes away and had their shuttle take me to the hotel. When I walked in the hotel I again dialed the number. It did not ring at the desk. At that moment a staff member walked out of the back office. I said, “Your phone isn’t working.” She responded, “Yes, our phone is working.” She hit a button on the phone switchboard behind the desk and a call began to ring in. I held up my phone to show her it was my phone that was ringing and that prior to her hitting the button my call was not ringing in. Realizing she was caught out, she blushed and said, “Oh we have been having trouble a phone tech is on the way.” A bit later I asked about a lift to a grocery store. The same young lady said, “we are glad to give you a ride. The shuttle driver comes to work at 3.” Bottom line then - there wasn’t anybody who could have picked me up at the airport anyway. Their webpage says 24 hour shuttle. I’m sarcastically confused. Over-promise and under-deliver?! I was provided with free breakfast coupons for my “trouble.” Really the 90k in rewards points used for the stay should be restored to my account. 1. There were 2 people manning the front desk at 3 pm and they have turned the phone off. Come on. Hilton is just behind Hyatt and Marriott but this sort of stuff should be what happens at a no-name hotel or motel. 2. Structurally the acoustics are off. My room was on the third floor. When a male in the room directly above me or the room adjoining it urinates it sounds as though he is urinating on soggy Sheetrock and that urine may come flowing from above. I know this is not the case but you should not be able to count how many seconds the fellows above you are standing in front of the toilet. Solution: ask for the top floor. If all other rooms have the same engineering and plumbing as those above me - you will always be aware of when several people use the restroom. Finally? The restaurant is not staffed for dinner but this is not told you on the website, nor do they mention it at checkin. There are no walkable restaurants so you are dependent on the shuttle.

I was impressed with how clean and comfortable this hotel was. I very much appreciated the 24/7 shuttle since my flight was delayed and I didn't arrive until 1 am. Shuttle driver was quick to arrive and very kind. I was disappointed that my digital key didn't work, especially since that meant walking back down the hall and to the lobby (I was exhausted) but the front desk staff was helpful in getting me into my room quickly. The bed was very comfortable. There was a weird noise coming from the in-room refrigerator so I unplugged that in order to fall asleep. The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly good! I did not expect that. The way the food was served was clean and appropriate, given continued Covid challenges. Coffee was very good, too! I would definitely stay here again.

We booked our room at the very last minute for an event near Springfield. All local hotels were sold out, were very expensive (over $300/night), or did not have room that met our needs (2 beds). I found a room at La Quinta the morning of and I am so glad. Our room was exceptionally clean. The AC was quiet and kept the room very cool in the over 90 degree heat. The was no visible wear and tear in our room. The decor was pleasant. Breakfast was adequate (hot water for tea was only luke warm, options limited but reasonable). I would definitely stay again.
