0.08km from Visanto RestaurantWe expected Perissa to be somehow a copy of Kamari, which we knew from before. But it isn't. Although Kamari in general might be more upscale, it is quite synthetic. On the contrary - Perissa and especially the Perivolos part have kept a lot of original Greek charme. Veggera is one of the best hotels in the town, cosy and clean. A lot has been said against the subterrain rooms, but it might not be a wrong decision as thus you stay protected from the heat. OK, you can use the aircondition a bit more, but we like to turn it off during the night. As we had a maisonette and those are direct under the roof it was nt always possible. But by themselves, the maisonettes are very nice and we were satisfied. Half-board is served and not an unreasonable choice if you stay for for just one week or less. During the pandemics the breakfast was served too and it was rich enough. A small grocery shop is also there, just a couple of steps from the reception. Sunbeds are free. Entering he sea is somewhat troublesome as someone got the unlucky idea to "alleviate" it wigh conrete, but due to a thin layer of algae that concrete is now very slippery. Due to pandemics there is no regular daily room cleaning, just on request, but you can request ir every day. Probably due to the low number of tourists the coastal street/promenade was not closed for vehicles even in the evenig and this was a bit disturbing. Most restaurants and pubs are open, but they run quite on empty. You can rent a car from the help of the reception or in the town - the prices are the same. You wil all visit Fira and Oia, but take also a trip to Emporio, a non-touristic traditional village, which is very close.
