This hotel looks brand new and opened up only a couple of years ago. The rooms are incredibly spacious with enormous 2 metre wide beds and all of the modern facilities you would expect in a Radisson hotel. The hotel is located just outside the centre but it is a pleasant 10 minute walk to the old town and then another 5-10 minutes to the very heart of the old town. The big plus of staying here is a brand new hotel as opposed to a renovated noisy old cramped hotel in the centre. We were really pleased with the hotel. The breakfast as well was the best breakfast I’ve ever had in a hotel. Whilst it was the typical breakfast buffet you would find, what made the difference are the small touches - one day there was smoked salmon at the buffet and the other day they had homemade tuna salads. Plenty of gluten free options too if you asked for it. Would happily stay there again. Only tip is that to find the hotel from the train station go out the main entrance and then turn right up the big stairs and then you’ll walk past a gym and Ibis hotel before reaching the Radisson. The entrance isn’t on the ground floor but on the 2nd floor so if you follow the stairs then you won’t miss it.

Not sure what to expect - but took a chance on a one night stay for a weekend break. Kind of OJ exceed all our expectations - we were made to feel welcome and looked after from arriving in Brugge. Ideal location, about 10 minute walk to all major attractions, but with beautiful canal walks on doorstep. Brugge is a wonderful place to visit but the accomodation was the star - an oasis of calm among tourist city bustle. Striking design combined with innovative use of materials alongside the buildings original architecture, not to mention the best breakfast ever and our host Jo who made us so welcome, make kind of OJ totally unique and highly recommended.

Personally, I found that this hotel was exactly what I needed on my solo trip. The staff were brilliant throughout my stay, and even smashed the lock off my backpack when I arrived as I had cleverly managed to lock myself out of it! I stayed in room 403, which if you’re scared of heights and are over 6ft, I wouldn’t recommend as there is a narrow/steep staircase to get to the 4th floor (the lift doesn’t do this high) and there is a sloping ceiling in the bedroom/bathroom. 2 things that didn’t bother me, so i was happy. The wifi was strong to say I was at the top of the building, the TV worked and had English channels, the bed was SUPER comfy and the room was very clean! The location was brilliant, within walking distance from everything, and you can see and hear the bells of the cathedral in the morning. The view from the skylight in the morning is incredible. If you’re not a fussy person and just want hot water and a place to rest your head, then i would definitely recommend staying here.

Sadly, we were only here for one night, but we would have loved to have stayed longer. Hotel De Castillion is a charming and elegant former residence of the bishop of Bruges, perfectly located to explore the town on foot. We arrived on a grey and drizzly day, but we stepped into the warmth and coziness of the reception room and were greeted by the owner (the hotel is family run). He graciously helped orient us to the town and what it had to offer, directing us to a side table with lots of tourist pamphlets. He offered us a delicious Belgian spice cookie and taught us the difference between "speculoos" (one spice) and "speculaas" (more spices and spicier). Our immaculate room on the second floor had a raftered ceiling and was charming. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and modern. I wish we had stayed longer to have enjoyed a drink in the cozy bar or take tea in the elegant front room. There is a small courtyard that must look lovely during the warm weather months. The breakfast room looks more beautiful than in the hotel photos. Every table had sweet little tea lights or candles and flowers. The buffet spread was amazing: Scrambled eggs, rounds of hashed potatoes, American style bacon and the most delicious little sausages. You could make a Belgian waffle and top it with a variety of things. American -type dry cereals were available and a variety of mueslis. Fresh fruit, yogurts, sweet pastries, cheeses, cold meats, smoked salmon, and artisanal bread. Beverages were varied: there was a coffee/cappuccino/espresso/hot chocolate machine, tea, many different types of juices (you could also make a mimosa!), sparkling and still water and milk. Although they do have a "family room", this hotel is more of a romantic get-away for adults. In the winter months, at least, this charming property is great value for the money. We highly recommend Hotel De Castillon!

We booked a double room, without carefully reading the hotel's policy that they don't allow children to stay (weird thing, though). We arrived at the hotel and found out we couldn't check in with our 8 months baby, because they have insurance only for 2 pers/room. My husband told the guy it was ok, but he expected to receive the money back. Now I will try to reproduce the mindblowing conversation. Receptionist: "It's not possible." Husband: "This is not fair." Receptionist: "Life's unfair." (Really???) Husband went out and I entered the hotel with a friend (we were travelling with another couple, accommodated at a normal hotel). We didn't want to argue, we just wanted to find a solution to our problem. Me: "Hello. I understood the situation, but is it possible that our friends stay here on our behalf?" Receptionist shouting: "No!..and if I see a baby here on the camera, I will call the police." Friend laughs of the situation (now seriously, his remark was funny, anyone would have laughed) Receptionist to friend: "Shh! Shut up! I am trying to have a serious conversation!" Friend: "You have to treat us with respect" Me: "You are being absurd" Receptionist: "Go out!" Horror experience. This attitude is not acceptable in a civilised world. After we tried to cancel on Booking with asking for a refund, we received this wonderful message from the guy. It's your choice, reader, if you want to ever have a connection with this kind of people.

I am a frequent Marriott guy (60+ per year) but with no Marriott's in Brugges, I took a chance on a new hotel. The Peelaert is in a fantastic location if you are wanting to explore Brugges. Short walk to everything, but just far enough out of the central hub to be quiet in the evenings. Dining options are all around. Room was clean, service was great, no issues. Only complaint was that breakfast was a little lacking in options, but that's in comparison to American buffets. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 4 nights in early March and really enjoyed our first stay. It is located an easy 10 minute walk from the heart of Bruges set in a quieter neighborhood, which was our preference. However several bars and restaurants are no more than 5 minutes from the hotel, including Tom's Diner, 't Gezelleke, and Vlissinghe, and staff is happy to make other recommendations as well. At check-in staff was very friendly and provided many suggestions on things to do and see as well as places to eat and drink. This friendliness continued throughout our visit. The hotel is elevator-served, but the elevator is cozy for 2 with bags. Our room was spacious on the top floor, with a wonderful view of the canal. The only odd thing, odd being from an American viewpoint I guess, is the bathtub had a hand shower only with no curtain or enclosure. Street noise in our room was minimal, mainly cars, but still quiet compared to more central locations I would assume. Breakfast was simple but delicious, set in a cozy dining room with a wood-burning fireplace. Each morning a basket of fresh bread on the table awaited us, as did a warming fire. Juices, fruits, cereals, meats and cheeses were provided daily on a self-serve bar. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back some day!

We visited B&B this weekend for two nights. On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome by Pieter, who couldn’t have been a better host the whole weekend. We emailed to let him know we’d be a little late past the check in time, and received a very friendly response stating it was no problem, and also provided us with directions and parking suggestions which was very helpful! We stayed in the Master Suite, and it was great value for such a large and beautiful bedroom and bathroom - exactly as it looks in the pictures. It was clean, very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The mini fridge with a selection of drinks and Belgian beers you can pay for was also a nice touch. Breakfast was great too, it was continental style but with a lot of choice to eat, which also changed daily to give variety. The location of the B&B was very good, a less than 10 minute walk to the Historic centre. And parking around the corner at Pandreitje 24hr underground garage, which also made it very easy for us to park the car. I would recommend anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Bruges to pick B&B next door. What a fantastic find, we hope to be back - thank you Pieter and Family!

We stayed here for a night between Xmas and New year as part of a mini cruise. We absolutely loved the B & B. Jimmy was a fantastic host, he took the time to sit down and talk through the tourist map of Bruges giving us suggestions for places to eat and visit. He was great and his recommendations were excellent. The B & B is a bit of a walk and situated in a quiet area which was just what we wanted. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was all local produce and was delicious. Couldn't fault anything. Thanks again for a great stay, we hope to be back

we stayed here for 3 nights and were really looking forward to our stay in Bruges but it did not turn out to be nice. We had booked 2 canal view rooms paying a bit extra for the view. When we checked in we were given only 1 canal view room and said the other was upgrade. It turned out to be on level 2 and did not have any canal view but was spacious. When we asked to change it, the reception was closed. It closes everyday at 6 pm, so unusual. However, we let it go and the next day we see a note from reception that they will operate only for 10 am to 11 am. That was a very last min notice to Hotel guests. Not very professional. When we had the upgrade, we also requested to cancel one room as it was not canal view and if they could give us a refund, but they rudely declined. When we requested for an extra towel as the room had an open shower with no door and no curtain, they said it will be an extra charge. I have never seen any hotel charging for an extra towel. My mom had left one of her expensive pair of shoes in room and they were moving to my room as checked out that room a day earlier, the cleaning lady did not tell us we forgot the pair of shoes. When we noticed the shoes missing late eve, we called the emergency number and the owner said it was past reception hours and they wont be able to help. This was very rude when they stayed in the same hotel on the upper floors. All they had to do is come down and give the pair of shoes form lost and found. We were checking out the next day, so I literally had to fight with the manager and they she sent one of the receptionist to hand over the shoes. Please beware before booking at this hotel!

We can only highly recommend this B&B. Booking, going there and staying there was super. The owner welcomed us in a very friendly manner and gave us first hand information on parking, dining etc. During our stay the overall impression of this house was reinstated everyday. We stayed in the house in the backyard and there in the lovely room under the roof. We found it marvelous. The room itself with it’s sublime interior simply complemented the cities atmosphere. The room and it’s furniture and all the other details were chosen thoughtfully and tastefully. Staying under the roof with the view to the “Onze-Live-Vrouwekerk” to the one side and the backyards on the other ment so much to us during our stay. This made the “B&B Le Foulage” simply adorable. The jewel in this crown is the owner Stephanie. She helps you with your needs and provides you with simply an outstanding breakfast. No doubt, we’ll return.

We stayed one night on the way back from France and it was a great choice!! A very clean hotel, very modern and friendly staff. The hotel is nearby the parking garage which costs 11 euros per 24 hours (really cheap comparing some other cities we have been to). You are right in the city and near the bus station if needed. The room we booked was on 5th floor so I recommend this floor to have the nice view of the cathedral. Rooms are clean and very modern (usb plugs, rain showers, AC,etc). Fast internet was really good after spending few days in French hotels with slow internet. The one thing was funny was the bathroom. There is only a curtain that divides the bathroom from the room so it was a bit strange to use the toilet when your wife is sitting on the bed (we chose to stay outside when one of us used the bathroom for some privacy ,lol). nice breakfast and friendly staff. Absolutely recommend it!!!

Good Points. Warm, cosy attractive hotel, in a great location, and as stated in previous reviews the owner was very friendly and attentive. Our room was attractive and the bathroom had clearly recently been refitted. Not so good points. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room, even the most basic boarding houses have a mini kettle these days! No plug in the bathroom sink, awful lighting in the bathroom, just a tiny strip light over the mirror, and beware the time you have a shower as the the water flows hot and cold. In the bedroom the floor is on the tilt, perfectly acceptable in an old building, but this leads to the double bed being on a tilt as well, not a restful way to spend the night. Breakfast was continental and tasty enough, however I was led to believe it was included in the price of my original quote. I wasn’t thrilled when I came to check out and another €60 was added to my bill for 3 mornings of Croissants and boiled eggs for 2 people. Still, that’s Bruges for you. Don’t go if you haven’t got deep pockets. Even with that annoying surprise on the final bill I’d still recommend this place, overall it was a quiet pleasant stay, close to the main square, and reasonable prices for Bruges.

Booked this hotel as it was a very reasonable price for the centre of Bruges on a Friday. We were arriving on bicycles and I emailed several days in advance to ask about where we can store our bikes during our stay. Additionally, we were two friends staying and I emailed to request a room with double beds. Unfortunately I did not get a reply but did receive a message from the hotel through Agoda where I booked with information about how to get in to the hotel (however this message was not a response to my email). The message finished mid sentence and did not send all the information about how to find the hotel etc. I also replied to this email with my first email copy and pasted but did not receive a response. Therefore we had to leave our bikes on the street and did not get twin beds as requested. ‘Check in’ consists of entering the door code from the email and finding your room which has the keys in the door. We did not see any hotel staff all afternoon or evening. The room was very well decorated and fitted out, we were surprised that we had a living room which we did not expect. Unfortunately, there were a couple of ‘bodge jobs’ like the bathroom door not fitting in the door frame. At 10:20 whilst getting ready to check out our door was knocked on and we were asked to come and pay for the room in the next 10 minutes as she had to leave (no earlier notice was given). The lady only spoke Portuguese and we had to communicate by google translate which made things run a bit slower when we were already being rushed to check out early. Overall it was very good value but don’t expect anything from the hotel owners as you may even question if they exist!

Small hotel two minutes from the Vismarkt. First the bad, thin walls where you need to be careful not to make too much noise and you can hear pretty much what happens in the building. That said, it's very quiet in general and the staff is probably the most helpful people I ever seen. Extremely flexible in regards of your needs (certainly in these Covid-19 times), they brought my breakfast into my room with no extra charge! First time visiting Belgium. Brugge is a quaint small town with that old-school Euro feel. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk through cobblestone streets from the train station (advice, take the cab for about 15 Euros). The hotel is tricky to find, but the front desk check in was smooth and every employee we encountered here was very friendly. We splurged on the larger king room and it was worth it as it had ample space for two people + luggage. The bathroom was large enough and modern. The room was very clean upon check-in. This was on the more pricey side, so just a heads up on that front. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the main square where there is everything you wanna see and do. It's great small town and definitely worth a visit.

My husband & I are staying at B&B De Bornedrager for 4 days. From the moment that we walked in, we knew that this would be a gem. The host asked our arrival time, so that she could be there to let us in and get us settled. We arrived at noon. Kathleen is wonderful. She goes out of her way to be as helpful as possible. She immediately got out a map and showed us where we were and where other sites of interest were. The renovated townhouse is spectacular, in a very understated, refined way. The pretty lounge area looks out on a patio and has an honor bar, as well as tea/coffee available always. The rooms are lovely. Ours has a king-sized bed, 2 pretty & comfortable upholstered reading chairs, 2 other wood frame/upholstered chairs by a little table, coffee/tea maker, fridge hidden in a closet, a safe, 3 lamps and a crystal chandelier! Flat screen TV & AC are high on the wall. The bathroom is a nice size and has modern finishings, with plenty of space for toiletries. There is a rain shower & a handheld shower. The color scheme throughout the B&B is muted grays, beiges, pale greens with a pop or two of color: very sophisticated. Luxurious, yet low-key. Breakfast is another lovely surprise. Daily, you are offered a glass of “bubbly”, if you would like, as well as several juices, tea, coffee. Cheeses, meats, several sweet breads, rolls, croissants. Eggs cooked any style you would like. Cereals. Fresh yogurt & fresh fruit are brought to the table. Kathleen makes sure that you are enjoying the start of your day. If you are going on a tour of Flanders Fields, Kathleen can have breakfast ready early for you. The location of this B&B is terrific. We could walk every where. Although we travel a lot and have stayed in many small hotels and B&B’s worldwide, this is by far our favorite. We heartily recommend that you book B&B De Bornedrager, if it is not already fully booked!

Firstly, customer service was amazing. I rocked up on my motocycle three days early (due to having to go back to UK early), and it was no problemt to change my booking dates. Nadia, the boss, was super friendly and helpful. Then the room! Ok there are only 4 rooms in the restaurant hotel, but the room I had was beautiful, completely in character with the age of the building and very comfy. The bath was deep and hot, which after a long day in the saddle I was very grateful of. For dinner I was presented with a chicken spaghetti and veg dish, which I had not exactly ordered, the waiter Karim, said "this is for you, made with love", it was absabloutly brilliant, a bit bowl of cheesy, spaghetti and chicken lovliness! The square was the prettiest place I have seen on my travels for a long time and such a chilled out vibe. There was no problem in leaving my bike among the tables on the outside of the cafe at no extra cost or risk, the place is super safe.

Very relaxing without the buffet - due to Corona regulations. The garden with fountain is very relaxing. We hired bikes from the hotel and can recommend discovering Bruges on a bike. Everything about the hotel was good. Although saying that the room was a little on the small side, but I believe that this is not to be unexpected in some of the smaller hotels in Bruges. Paul and family were most welcoming even though we did turn up early. Paul was also a bit of a godsend when our return Eurostar was cancelled. Located approximately 10-15 minute (depending on length of legs!) walk from centre. Everywhere in the hotel was very clean. Bathroom was again on the smaller side but everything, including toiletries, were excellent. No faulting breakfast, which was plentiful and, unusually for a continental breakfast, also included soft boiled eggs! Overall, first rate.

We booked a Deluxe Suite and the room we were given was in the cellar below the kitchen. It was very nicely furnished but it was in the cellar and therefore very dark with no fireplace so this was very disappointing. It might be a good room for the summer but not in the winter. We asked to be moved but unfortunately this was not possible. Breakfast was a good spread but the bacon and eggs in the buffet on the first morning were cold. when we complained this was rectified. Overall nice B & B but for us disappointing and not great value for money as we could have stayed in a much nicer room elsewhere for the same amount.

The hotel is really cozy and the room is big enough. The bed was really comfortable. They have a nice closed terrace where the breakfast is served. They don’t have too many options for food, but it’s sufficient and nicely arranged. The garden is a nice seating area in case the weather will allow eating outside. The personnel was friendly. The city center is 5 minutes away and free parking place at a walking distance, but i suggest to first come and leave your baggage and park the car afterwards. I will definitely keep it on my list for future visits to Brugge. I don’t have pictures beside the one with the flowers.

This is a lovely, clean hotel. Breakfast was fantastic- croissants, cereal, fruit meat and cheese, eggs etc. The staff were all wonderful and keep standards high. Our room had a couple of tiny signs of age such as a missing loo roll holder and paint chips to the door but this didn't effect our comfort at all. I enjoyed the little bar in evenings and families with children are also well catered for from what we saw. The location is perfect for exploring the city and we were able to park easily in the local underground car park. I would certainly stay here again!

Dick and Tineke's warm hospitality added an X factor to our Brugge trip. We spent 2 days in a beautiful suite at Con Ampere and couldn't have asked for anything more from the stay. Tineke took time to reach out to us prior to our checkin and provided us bus directions to the place. When we reached the place, Dick sat down with us over a glass of wine to help us understand the place, the tourist traps to avoid and the places to not miss at all when in Brugge. This for me ticks all the check boxes of being considerate hosts and elevates this place much beyond a regular bed-n-breakfast. The infrastructure in the room is perfectly adequate and care has been taken to make sure the little things don't cause inconvenience. Extra points for the filling and tasty breakfast! The place itself is right at Jan Van Eyck square as well as a 5-10 minute walk from Markt making it convenient for reaching any of the spots in town. All in all a perfect place for a perfect getaway!

This hotel is situated an easy 5-10 minutes walk from the main Market Square. The staff are friendly & helpful, allowing me to leave my luggage in a locked room until check-in time, whilst I did some sightseeing. My room was a single room and, although it was obviously smaller than a double room, there was still plenty of space...as well as the bed, it had a desk with tea/coffee making equipment, tv and storage space. The en-suite bathroom was compact, spotlessly clean and equipped with toiletries/ soft towels. Breakfast (if not included in your booking) is worth purchasing...although it's classed as Continental, you are given a choice of fresh eggs (boiled, fried, scrambled) along with a huge selection of cold meats, cheeses, bread rolls/ toast, fruits, yoghurts, fruit juices & tea/coffee. I will certainly return here on my next visit.

We've just stayed here for three nights in the family room 'notre dame'. We have had a wonderful time, the location is slap bang in the centre which allowed us to pop back and rest the kids during the day. Parking was in a nearby underground car park, we left the car there from Friday evening till Monday morning and it cost only 24 euros. The staff here are lovely, welcoming and friendly. The building is very old and beautifully restored and modernised while retaining its character. Our room was very comfortable, the children's room was small but cosy and equipped with a bunk bed. This was linked to our bit by the shower room. The main room is spacious with two large windows overlooking the small courtyard. There is a TV but we didn't use it. Towels are provided and changed daily if needed, they are small but absolutely fine. Shower gel and handsoap is also provided. The bed was two singles pushed together and comfortable, pillows are continental style (square) and each adult had two. This room is on the first floor and can be reached by stairs, one flight each end of the building or a lift. There is a huge and beautifully furnished lounge with doors that open out to a small courtyard garden. Also downstairs is a dining room where breakfast was served and during the day guests can make tea and coffee and even finish off the pastries from breakfast. Breakfast is from 08.30-10.00 and was made up of a choice of fruits, cold meats, cheeses, various breads, pastries, fruit juice, scrambled eggs and bacon. There are also a number of bikes for hire but you need to be brave in bruges! Step outside the front door and you are in the centre yet the only noise comes from church bells. There is no air conditioning but fans are provided. Mosquitoes are about as there are canals nearby, do take some repellant. This is a wonderful B&B in a fantastic location and highly recommended.

We were exhausted from the long haul from the US to Brussels to Brugge. We came back to the restaurant but it was closed. Decided a beer and chips would do. A gentleman named Jo offered to order us a pizza. Since I am from the Bronx I doubted pizza would compare so we passed> Before we knew it we had a delightful plate in front of us. Only afterward we learned he is the owner. So it would be hard to give less than 5 stars. Great location. Breakfast is the best I have ever had. I spilled chocolate on my shirt-oh well. There is a blend of old-world charm and modern chic. Great combo. I also heard about updates that are planned. If you are visiting Brugges this is where you should stay. Simon at breakfast was the happiest guy I have ever met! Go enjoy Brugges
