The toilet facilities are a bit rudimentary, complex and well designed. Super close to the subway and the most convenient transportation. It is also good to follow Little India, with local Indian food next to it.

Decent stay for first time experience. The toilets were small with no bad hygiene and bin was included. Wifi was alright as, the signal was good at specific time only. The kitchen located next to the toilet cubicles was weird but it didnt affected me while i was making food with their induction stove. At some days, the receptionist was really friendly but some were totally unaproacheable without smile. The reception was usually empty right after 8-9pm. Foam bed was simply too comfortable that i couldnt stop sleeping. Their double beds are great for family of 4 with kids. 2 hangers and a powerpoint was included in my capsule. Aircon was quite cooling and curtain divider was awesome. The locker below bed was very spacious. No free towels, shampoo/soap, photocopying, canned sodas or water bottles but there were free flow of water, coffee and tea at the kitchen. You can always get affordable goods at the nearest shopping mall, MUSTAFA for anything and everything at any time. Little India train station (Exit E) is 2min away where you can buy a fare card for bus rides and train to travel in Singapore. But smoking is only allowed at unsheltered areas away from buildings and parks.

Instagram-worthy decor, lots of pretty backgrounds to take your #ootd However upon arrival, the front desk staff waved us off by merely stating that check in is 3pm. She further added, “come back after 2pm". She didn't bother checking our booking or whether there was anyone staying in the room. We were carrying multiple heavy bags. When asked if we can leave our bags at the hotel while we explore and wait for check-in few hours later, we were told that there is no luggage area for us to put our stuff down. The staff mentioned we can put on the sofa at the side, but she won't be around all the time to take care of it. The sofa can be accessed by anyone, anytime. So, we could only lug our bags and return at a later timing. Room was small but functional. If you are planning to buy food back, you can only eat it on the floor. Unless you dont mind facing the wall and not your friend while eating (because the desk was already taken up by the kettle, phone and coffee/tea - which was a lovely touch by the way) Overall, the service was far from ideal. Not on our recommendation list if you are looking for a hospitable and relaxing venue for your next staycation.

Booked through Agoda Stayed only for one night as was on transit from Australia back to home. The hostel is in the ground floor of Great Madras Hotel and is under the same management . Same staff and reception for both. A square cage like room. For seniors not at all good. Bed hight is just one feet above floor level. No space to keep the luggage. Leaving the bed space , just 1 1/2 feet space is left in the room ,that too on one side only. Really an uncomfortable stay. Bath room is common and not clean. No sufficient light in bathroom for shaving and all. Towel and bath kit provided. Locker and mobile charging facilities available in the room. Coffe/tea making available in the conjusted common area. Bed linen appeared as old and not changed. Free WiFi available and speed is good. Free breakfast is very basic. Cornflakes, bread and tea/coffee. I had breakfast from outside. Room door(slide door) cannot be locked from inside. One has to sleep without door locked. Location is good. Near to Rochor and Little India MRT.. Good Indian eateries and shops around. Staff are co-operative, especially Mr. Imen. Airport shared shuttle reaches just in front of the hostel (9 Singapore Dollars). There are hotels with better facilities available nearby with a lesser price. Do not recommend this hostel.

Pros= Very near MRT Station Rochor Mattress of good quality, we sleep soundly after a very tiring day There is mamak indian restaurant to it which comes handy if u need a quick bite however this can also be the source of noise. We take ensuite dorm-style room. Toilet is satisfactorily clean. No complaint. Hot shower available with good water pressure. Aircond works well, which is worth to mention because Singapore can be very hot especially in the day Cons= Wall not very sound proof Some of the plugs in the room not working Tips: You need to tell front desk if you want to check in early-subject to availability If you pay by credit card there is 3% service charge. The hotel takes 10sgd deposit per room key Breakfast is bread, butter, jam, tea and coffee. Dont expect too much. Can request to borrow Singapore simcard. Just top up 5 dollar and walla you enjoy high speed Internet connection.

I pass through Singapore a couple of times a year travelling between Europe and Australia and the PERAK HOTEL is my first choice. I've stayed at far more luxurious hotels in Singapore but frankly for me the expense is not worth it. I've also stayed in other budget hotels there and most are just too basic or located where I don't want to be. The PERAK, for me, gets the balance of comfort, convenience of location, cleanliness and price just right. This is not a new hotel, in fact I believe that it's a heritage listed building, so the rooms while not modern have a charm of their own. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast is basic but good, the public area is clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic right on the edge of little India and a ten minute walk from Bugis street. I took the MRT from Changing airport, cost is $ 2-70, changed at Bugis junction station and came out of the station less than 100 Mtrs. from the hotel. There's an old saying "you get what you pay for" and in my view, given the cost of hotel accommodation in Singapore, the PERAK offers excellent value for money.

the location is very good. it's just near the metro station and 7/11. there are lots of restaurants of Indian food nearby. we were lucky to get room updation for free. the room is nice and clean. bathroom is ok, but when you take a shower, water is dripping all around, including the toilet. service is quite nice. you will want talking to the receptionist if you are a fan of British humor. I enjoyed staying there

I was here sometime ago and surprised by a negative comment below. They definitely need to stay in a hotel and go mingle with the rich. I’ve been to shady parts of bunkbed hostels in Singapore and this hotel was simply the best for me. This place was clean and decent. No breakfast, no problem. Only coffee, tea and hot water, no problem. Mattresses and beds were not tailor made, no problem. Sleeping with 16 other people in a room, no problem. We all know this is a hostel right? Royals wannabe shouldn’t be harsh on a $15-a-night sleepovers in fact they should stay away from budget hostels if they expect premium service for super low cost. *Pros: aromatherapy-infused rooms, en-suite bathroom, super hot shower, locker, 20 steps to Rochor MRT Station. *Cons: super cold AC, no towels, sometimes inconsiderate guest.

I booked a room with only two beds because I was afraid of being noisy. However, I didn't expect the couple who came back after 11 o'clock to chat until 1 am. The room had only wooden boards, and the conversation was basically clear. Korean roommates were so noisy that they ran out. I wore headphones for a few hours without sleep, and my roommate came back at five or six in the morning, but it did n’t take long for the three sisters in the opposite room to start chatting and laughing early in the morning. The roommate was so angry that he went downstairs Room. He should have not slept all night. I only slept for three hours. I couldn't walk the next day and it was too sleepy to sleep all night. I know that this problem can't be blamed on the hotel. The poor guests next door are really abominable. The sound insulation of the room is really bad. I knew it would be like this, so why bother spending extra money to book a twin room, the Chase shop is cheaper. In short, my journey was ruined the next day, and it was better to die. I lay on the side of the road to sleep. The tidy part seemed to be okay, but my body was itchy all night, and I kept scratching it all night, like being bitten by a worm, I do n’t know if it was a flea.

This was the 1st time we stayed @Broadway. Stayed from 27th August 2018 to 2nd September 2018 (7 days). Booked 2 rooms, one for my family (me with my hubby and 2 girls, aged 8 and 12) and other one for my sister. To be frank, I was bit reluctant to book this hotel after reading some of the reviews on web. I'm generally afraid of insects and cockroaches in particular. But I hv not seen a single cockroach during my stay. I must say that I had a great stay there. Room and the bathroom were clean and tidy. We were provided with clean towels daily. We reached the hotel by 9am - they allowed us an early check-in which was very convenient for us. Front desk was really polite. Very helpful & courteous staff. If you want they let you leave your baggages for safekeeping even after checking out too. Water bottles are not provided but there is a tap outside the room with hot&cold water - hence water is not an issue at all. The location is excellent. Less than 400m to 24-hour Mustafa Center. Also very close to Farrer Park MRT which enables you to reach Universal Studio, Sentosa, China Town. At the same time it's just abt 5 min walk to Little India MRT so you can travel to Gardens by the Bay very easily. Delhi Restaurant serves authentic Indian cuisine but there are plenty of food options in this area so no big issue. Very good value for money. Specially when you are comparing with other hotels in Little India. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again.

Actually requested for highest floor with amazing view but they didn’t fulfil my request. It’s okay, they also mention to make advance booking for swimming pool and so we did, but pool is fully booked, felt so disappointed. During check in we try our luck again for the pool, lucky there is last 3 slot of us. Around 7pm went swimming, but no one was there. (Wonder why they say it’s fully book) 😕 In the afternoon try to make booking for pool again, again they say fully book. We didn’t bother to go down to check. Aside from that, we do appreciate the gifts that comes in the package that include late check out at 6pm, inclusive of breakfast and semi lunch buffet for 2 adults. Room was very spacious and clean. Overall we are happy with our stay there. Definitely we come again.

I booked for my fiancé's birthday and in lieu to celebrate New Years. Firstly, early check in was given as to prevent the crowd during the New Years Eve. Very smart move made by the hotel which I am very thankful for! It helps to control the crowd. Trip.com has emailed me to WhatsApp the hotel as were told by the hotel to request for early check in. Replies by the hotel staffs were fast too! After checking in, I called to reserve the pool but it was sad I could not go as it was raining! The room was rather small but that's fine by me! The shampoo and body wash given smells nice! I usually do not use hotel's shampoo/bodywash but this hotel's toiletries was quite nice! The view from the toiler was not bad too! You need to of course close the blind to have a private shower. Was given free macaroons delivered by the robots to my room as it was my fiancé's birthday! Super kind gesture made by the hotel staffs! We were super touched! The next day, when I went down to pick up my breakfast as I choose to take away(can select to dine in or take away), the staff could not find my breakfast order as my breakfast order was misplaced by one of the staffs (the one I gave my order sheet to) But that's okay because I did not mind waiting for them to pack my food again. I was also granted late check out! Overall, pleasant stay! The team was all very friendly and approachable. Thank you!

There was a 3-hour delay in checking-in but we were reasonably compensated in the form of complimentary parking and dining credits. Kudos to the front desk and concierge staff who were efficient and patient, especially with some unreasonable guests (no need to make things difficult for those who are trying to make your stay better). Food quality of in room dining was good and the safety measure was well managed at the pool. Thank you to all that have served us during our stay, you are Awesome! Just one thing not so pleasant thou, the service attitude of a particular male staff at Ash and Elm was rather bad that’s why we decided not to dine there. Seemed like somethings don’t change (bad experience with Ash and Elm years back), so except for the restaurant, we would love to come back again 😁

Beds were clean and comfortable. Front desk staff service was friendly and professional. After the 1st night, was woken up by drilling and hammering noises at 9 plus in the morning. Breakfast in room dining was ordered at 930am, arrived at 1150am as in doom dining department could not cope w the huge amount of orders. Was informed that our breakfast would arrive at 1130am. So first day, wasn't impressed w renovation noises that disrupted our sleep and a breakfast that was more of brunch. Did request for room change and was given another room. Air conditioning in the new room was not working well n had to request for a fan. Overall, the old building and maintenance of the hotel would place it as a 4 star hotel rather than a 5-star rating.

From booking communication through email, Aisyah was the best. Everything went smooth and all our requests was accommodated. Even the room upgrade. Thank you so much Aisyah! :) Check in was smooth and Vin was really friendly and welcoming. As for the room (1015), it was almost perfect! Room was spacious enough for two and the view was AMAZING!!! Truly a panoramic view. Balcony was great, but it would have been better if there was a brighter light for lounging out during the evening. Only improvement I guess would be some of the staff being more friendly specially by the pool and beach area. In other Shangri-la, guests would go directly to the beds and a staff will bring the towels and some water for refreshments. We did not experience this here in Rasa Sentosa. Not sure if this is because of covid. But it would still be great if the staff would in those areas be more welcoming and friendly. Overall, had a great time and had a great birthday celebration. We would definitely come back for another quick getaway from the city. Thank you so much!

Lavender
Hotel Boss is about the location. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and Lavender MRT Station is 200m away. Bugis and City Hall area is a short bus ride away and Kampong Glam is within walking distance. Check-in was surprisingly quick, given the long queues inside the lobby as well as 2 separate long queues outside the hotel (one along it's drop-off point via Syed Alwi Road and another along its front - Victoria Street). The staff were friendly and welcoming. Pretty good attitude given the large crowd and check-ins. It's a mid-range hotel with many rooms. The rooms, however, are pretty small. Tiny, I would say. I have got a Triple Room and the distance between the foot of the bed and the desk is about a person's width. The en-suite toilet is tiny too. A big-sized guy like me would hit the wall or the basin when I changed inside the toilet. There are no traditional toilet paper dispenser. Instead, what was installed was a tissue paper in a cylindrical container where you pulled down piece by piece. This was installed by the mirror behind you if you used the bowl, so it was pretty inconvenient. The water strength of the tap and showers were good. Toiletries and towels were provided and replenished/changed daily. The bed was comfortable but only one pillow was provided and the pillow was thin. The air-con is pretty strong and given the small size of the rooms, the room was cooled pretty quickly. There is no wardrobe but an open-style hanging system was used with 6 hangers. Coffee and tea was provided as well as a kettle. The mini-fridge was great! The strength was great and chilled my drinks quickly. One really bad thing about Hotel Boss is that they have pretty thin walls. I could hear the muffled sounds of my next-door neighbours talking and the sound of the TV. There were some shouting two doors down and that was audible. Had to call the staff up to handle and they did a pretty good job. The in-room telephone wasn't working well and I could not hear anything after 2 calls down to the reception but they sent a guy up after that to make sure things were good. Breakfast was provided and served at their 4th floor Halal-certified restaurant. It was a choice between a Chinese or Western set. Serving was great with the typical breakfast items, in addition to yogurt, bread and cereal with milk. There were queues at certain times of breakfast (after 9.30am) but that was probably due to the high occupancy rate. All in all, I believe the Triple Room I stayed in was too cosy for 3 adults. I loved the service and condition of the room. It was convenient to get to a lot of places. However, one thing to note is that they would locked the front doors (facing Victoria Street) from 9pm-5am and you would have to access via it's drop-off point (facing Syed Alwi Road and Kallang River).
