Well, where can I start? On arrival after a long journey due to roadworks the welcome carpet wasn't exactly rolled out! Staff seemed like they didn't want to be there . On arrival to the room my partner and I noticed some disturbing sites/stains all over the room including dust (pics below), made me feel like I didn't want to stay and that paying £125 for two nights was WAY above the cost it should've been. The only area of the bedroom that was at a presentable standard was the bathroom , as this looked clean and like it was actually shown some attention. On our departure we could smell ********* near our room and informed one of the male reception staff, who really didn't seem concerned not only about smoking in the hotel but smoking *********. I am glad to have not eaten breakfast/dinner here as I'm not sure how it would've turned out, and judging by the rooms cleanliness i may of suffered the consequences! I understand this is only a 2 star hotel, but even then, some attention to detail would benefit the companies image. Room 2/5 Welcome/Departure 1/5 Location 5/5 Cost 2/5 Due to stains and the general unkemptness of the room I would not be charging customers £125 and upwards. I want a part-refund or full refund.

I booked this hotel via the Marriott website for a deluxe suite with a king-size bed. I also added a 3 course meal for my wife and myself. This was supposed to be a special treat as my wife is recovering from a blood clot in her brain and its the first time we have managed to get away since her collapse in January. On checking in the receptionist appeared to have trouble finding us on their system. She Possibly couldn't find our booking. This took some 15 minutes just to check us in. We were given room 351. I asked if everything was showing on my booking the 3 course meal and the breakfast and was told it was. My wife and myself went to the restaraunt and had the 3 course meal. However the waitress approached us asking if we wanted the bill. I told her that I had already paid for it via the website. Her reaction appeared dumbfounded she went away and shortly came back stating that there was no sign of our meal being paid for. This got quite embarrassing as I was made to feel that I was trying to get away without paying. It was at first suggested that I pay again and sort it out with reception in the morning. In the end I was asked to provide a screen shot of my booking via E-Mail to your reception desk which showed the 3 course meal being paid for. However I did not receive any reply whatsoever. After this my wife and I returned to our room to have a good nights sleep. The bed was not a king-size bed but 2 single beds pushed together. The mattresses were so old you could feel the springs poking through. Everytime you moved the springs would make a crunching sound and poke you in the back. We both had the most uncomfortable night. I did not get hardly any sleep and ended up sitting on the chair in the room. I had just travelled some 300 miles to this hotel and all I wanted was to have a good nights sleep which never happened. I felt completely exhausted as a result of this. Also I had to travel again some 300 miles back home. I approached the reception desk in the morning enquiring as to what was going on with my booking and what was the situation regarding the 3 course meals. Also stating that I was now concerned if the breakfast was now included. The gentleman told me that there was no charge on our room showing. I simply do not understand as the previous night my wife and I felt very embarrassed over this. I know the hotel will simply cut and paste their response stating they are very sorry that they did not live up to expectations. We shall see.

Stay away from this Hotel, like you would the plague, SERIOUSLY!!! I booked a 3 night stay at St Andrew's House Hotel, from the 7 February 2020 on wards, in an attempt to have a peaceful and comfortable stay, although, I couldn't have booked a worse Hotel!!!! I was kept awake all night long, from banging noises from above me and squeaky floor boards. Earlier in the evening when I heard noise, I was hoping it would settle down as the evening went on, however, it didn't, and so when it got to 3:38am I decided to call the emergency number for the Hotel, although, to my shocking surprise there was no answer and my call was not returned by either one of the Hoteliers I was only told when I had got to the Hotel that I was being put in a room were the shower was not working correctly. Phil said I would need to put the hot water on in the sink, then put the shower on and then I could turn the hot water off in the sink. I did this, however, the shower was not hot then, so I had to keep the hot water on in the sink, for the whole duration of my shower. The shower also kept coming on for 3 seconds and then went off again, repeatedly, until I had finished the shower. I asked for a refund for the 3 night stay, minus offering £10, to cover the laundry costs. Lorraine said in an off way, that it will cost them £15 for the laundry and extra for getting cleaners in, as well. She said she did not want to refund me for that night. I said I was not happy about this, I was very polite in how I handled the situation, but I felt that Lorraine had a very rude manner. Phil told Lorraine that he would give Lorraine the money back and he went ahead, to refund me back to my card. The refund receipt was dated the 8 February and to date (19 February), I have still not received a refund. I have tried to contact the hotel for the past 4 days, by calling them, but there has been no answer. I have left a voicemail, asking them to call me back, however, I have not been called back. I sent the Hotel an email on the 17 February and I have not received a response to this, as yet, My dad rung and spoke with Lorraine today at 12:54pm, to ask her nicely about my refund, she said that they had already refunded me. She said that she was out at the time, but that she would call my dad back when she got back to the Hotel, to which she never. I rung tonight and I spoke with Phil, he too, said that I had been refunded and I said I had not been. He also said that World Pay were the organisation that they use to deal with their refunds. I then contacted my bank and they said that it can take anything from 3-6 weeks to get a refund from them. I was very shocked at this, because Hotels usually refund customers directly, within anything up to, but not extending, 5 working days and the Hoteliers did not warn me of such a delay, either!!!! I rung the Hotel back again, as soon as Phil answered the phone, I heard Lorraine in the background, saying to Phil, to

Stayed here twice before once in the woodland room and once in a standard double both lovely modern rooms. Checked in today and had booked an executive suite as its our 3rd wedding anniversary and we wanted it to be special as we havent managed to celebrate yet due to covid. Upon check in we was at reception a while with no staff around, it was getting chaotic as a wedding was arriving, finally a male staff member tried to book us in but our room wasnt ready so he got us a complimentary drink in the bar. From here its just been a downward disappointment. Our room was absolutely vile i could of cried, dark and dingy with victorian style furniture old and tattered and a threadbare dirty carpet, no bathroom tv either and the opposite of what an executive suite looks like online. called down to reception and said im not happy and was shown another room, not an executive room but ive still been charged for one. Had to ask for the gowns, toiletries, no bathroom tv as obviously its not an executive what weve paid for. No glasses for water, no fresh milk or ice in the machine as advertised again had to ask. The once provided nespresso pods have been swapped for cheap mill brand and are vile but still advertised as nespresso. Room ridiculously hot and the window opens up to all the smelly noisy kitchen vents and ugly roof space. Fluffy dressing gowns are in fact rock hard terry towel that smells of dirty cooking oil. Kettle full of limescale. Bathroom taps underneath are full of black mould and limescale and shower head needs de scaling too. Bathroom floor is dirty, door is covered in stains and splashes i can only assume is urine. Bedroom needs a good dust and all the cobwebs hoovering off the ceiling. New changing rooms, steam room and sauna is great but the swimming pool smells awful a weird mixture of urine and onions so needless to say we jumped right out and showered. The food in the walled garden was awful too, the steak pie was a bowl of dried up grey looking meat and carrots that looked like it had been previously cooked and reheated several times with a puff lid slapped on top. Wasnt offered dessert even though it was included in our stay and by this point im so sick of having to ask that we have come for an early night. Staff dont seem to have a clue and very short staffed, im so upset that the barton experience we know and love is certainly not in existence now. Whether its covid strain and cut backs or new owenership running the place into the grown its certainly not a 4 star anymore. Absolutely gutted our wedding anniversary should of been special and its just been stressful and disappointing.

I stayed here for one night whilst on business in the area and enjoyed my stay. The hotel is well-situated in the city centre and although it has a small car park, I suspect most guests wouldn't' manage to get a space, particularly if arriving later in the day. The multi-storey car park above the bus station is right next door and is open 24 hours a day, charging £4 for 12 hours or £6 for a full 24 hours. I parked my car here with no problems and in fact, looking at the way some guests had crammed their cars into every corner of the hotel car park, it was probably safer leaving it where I did. The hotel room was clean and appropriately equipped for the price, the staff were friendly and efficient, and the restaurant/bar pretty good to be fair. I would stay here again if returning to Preston.

I have just returned from a wonderful stay at Preston with two friends, where we had a wonderful stay at the Legacy International, where we were welcomed in a most friendly manner by Liz, who made us feel most welcome, we then had a delicious meal served by Anouska a Polish lady, who then served us drinks in the bar in a most friendly manner, after an excellent nights sleep in a very comfortable room with everything provided, we had a great breakfast with all that you could eat, beautifully presented and delicious as well. If you are travelling to this hotel in the next few months, make certain that you have detailed maps of how to get there, as Preston has so many roadworks, NO FAULT OF THE HOTEL, which makes accessing the hotel a trial of strength, which you do not need after 5 hours travel. An excellent hotel with wonderful staff that I would willingly return to.
