This hotel was not our first choice. But other hotel cannot speak English and would like us to pay an extra night only for early check-in. So we changed for this one, and we were right to do. They can pick you up anywhere to bring you to hotel when you arrive. Early check in (we arrive at 6AM) is only 300 Bahts. They helped us to rent a car before the rental shop open, and they have a private parking. There are free bikes you can use, and when you go back, an employee parked the bike for me and took my heavy shopping to my room. The hotel have plenty of space outside to rest and enjoy time. They have useful maps. The breakfast is free, and if not free is cheap for the quality (early check-in, so of course breakfast was not include, 150 Bahts). So by being so nice, they made us change for this one, happy of the switch, and happy to write this review.

I stayed at Hop Inn Surin in June 2018 for 3 nights. The hotel is a little further out from the busier streets of Surin, and it is located right next door to the Maneerote Hotel. **Tip: Local taxi-bikes and Taxis seem unfamiliar with the Hop Inn name, so just ask them for Maneerote Hotel** Hop Inn is lovely and new, and there is a stark contrast between here and the badly aged Maneerote next door. The Hop Inn is a huge, bright blue building, with a large surrounding car park. The reception is a nice, relaxed 'office-style' layout with a security-card access swipe to get to the elevator and stairwell to the rooms. There is a night security guard on duty too, so your vehicles are safe in the property car park. The rooms are wonderfully bright and well-presented. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillow quality is excellent. I slept fantastically each night there. The bathroom has shampoo/Shower gel dispenser on the wall. There are fresh towels left each day by the attentive staff, as well as two complimentary bottles of glass-bottled Chang water. There are a multitude of lights in the room, for whatever you're in the mood for- studying, relaxing, reading, or romancing. The rooms are also equipped with a small refrigerator, a seat, desk, and excellent Thai Channel HD television with USB ports for your own media. There is a small 'balcony' which houses the A/C fan, so there's space for a smoke, but the guard railing is rather low- so be careful if you have kids, or had one too many Leo. Reception staff are lovely, always say hello, spoke English rather well, and were always smiling. Cleaning staff equally as pleasant. Wi-fi in the hotel worked well, and I was able to stream Netflix without an issue. There aren't any convenience stores within walking distance, although the reception stocks soft drinks and a few select snacks. If you do venture out at night, you'll get street dogs lurking. They can be sporadically hostile, so best you have a motorbike if you venture out. The city night market is about 5 minutes motorbike from the hotel. I'm very familiar with Surin, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I encourage you to book Hop Inn if you have your own mode of transport for getting around, as it makes you appreciate the value of what you get for your money even more.

Well I wasn’t sure if to rate this a four or five star experience. I booked this as soon as we decided we wanted to go to the inaugural MotoGP in Thailand. It seemed all accommodation in Buriram was sold. So I looked towards neighbouring areas. Surin seemed to be not too far away. We were always going to hire a car anyway as we were spending time in the country with friends but wanted to be closer than the hour plus that they were located. Surin was about half an hour away. This hotel didn’t have a pool and guess that it why it was so cheap. We paid Aud$17 a night per room. Was sceptical about what it was going to be like for that type of money on a major event weekend. I had heard many stories about people having their bookings cancelled close to the event when it was realised the demand for rooms. We got there early hoping to store luggage before heading to the track. They allowed us to check in at 10am which was great to settle in, change and be on our way. Room was large, clean, had wifi and free bottled water daily. Plenty of room in car park. They had a restaurant attached which we had breakfast in daily, had a dinner once as well. Lots of eateries close by. Market close as well, we didn’t have time to explore. Very quiet street had a good nights rest. So had to give it five stars as it had everything we needed, they honoured our booking for the crazy price probably never to be seen again. Some other tourists we met at the hotel had booked not realising how far away the event was but apparently they caught train each day and then there was free transport to track from station, which sounded pretty effortless definitely something to consider. Staff were all very friendly, it was a very pleasant stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Our second time staying at the Slive Hotel. The first was a few years ago when it was newly opened and management was still on the learning curve. A few minor glitches then, but none now. We originally booked only three nights while we looked around for something a little less expensive. However, ended up staying two weeks as there was nothing better at this price point... Room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and, most importantly, quiet. I’m a light sleeper and not once was I awakened by either noise from other guests or from the outside; and, the hotel is directly across from a major provincial hospital with ambulances coming and going 24 hours a day. Great gym and breakfast was much better than one generally gets at Thai tourist hotels. Also, the coffee at breakfast wasn’t the horrible instant crap one usually finds in Thailand. It was relatively drinkable without adding tons of sugar or milk to make it palatable. I often went for a second or third cup, it was that good. WiF was approaching 100 mbs a second which is pretty decent for a province in rural Thailand. Free underground parking with 24 hour security, not that it’s really needed. Bicycles are available if one is foolish enough to try and ride one in Thai traffic; but then again, you are conveniently close to the emergency room. Plenty of food stalls in the immediate vicinity and two 7-11 convenience stores within 100 meters of the hotel. My wife and I would buy beer at 7-11 and then sit on the rooftop lounge and watch the sunset over the bustling metropolis of Surin. CONS: (1) Bed a little lumpier than I prefer, but not too bad (2) No English TV channels, but with fast WiFi I just streamed whatever I wanted from YouTube. (3) Shower could have had a little more water pressure on hot, but I find this to be a common problem in Thailand where people tend to take tepid showers to cool off from the heat. (4) I didn’t want to be in Surin for two weeks, but my wife is from here and she had family obligations. Otherwise there is no reason to be here.

Our apartment was clean, and well equipped. There are adequate kitchen items for light cooking. The microwave and smooth top electric burners are a bit of a concern for travelers with small children, though. There is adequate food within walking distance, and more options with a short drive. Parking is a little tight in the covered parking area. I did find the security door to our floor blocked open in the morning. No elevator. We were overall happy with our choice, and would stay again.

Walk 5-6 minutes from the bus terminal. Close to a small night market. It is very quiet and the room is spacious and comfortable. This is not a blackout curtain, so it is very bright in the morning. There is no breakfast, but bananas, snacks and coffee are provided on the table next to the sofa on the first floor. I stopped at Vanta Klang and Elephant Village, but as the car ran out of time, I stayed for two nights. I'm resting

Large city hotel with decent rooms and facilities. Beer garden option for food and drink in the evening with live entertainment. When we were there the live entertainment tended to get distracted by the sport on the big screen behind them which could be quite amusing. A pretty average place when it came to food, drink and service. A fair choice for out stop on the journey.

This is a brand new (2018) hotel. Very clean, spacious rooms. Decor is a touch odd - as they follow the bee motif with black and yellow paint. Nice handshower in bathroom, clean tiles. Bed was comfortable and the exterior wall had large windows looking out on the parking lot. Aircon worked well. Breakfast is ok - but I preferred the roadside stand down the road 30 meters and across the stream. No business center, no pool. Management was kind enough to allow late check out til 2pm without charge as my flight was delayed.

Have stayed here twice this year. Three U.S. guests with me thought is was great. Pre booked on Agoda, check in was a one minute whiz. The rooms are actually duplex bldgs., with a private front parking space. Room is very very clean, large, all amenities, and the shower could hold a fair size party, plenty of HOT water. Have not found a better value in Thailand in 18 years (under Baht 600). The only problem is if you do not have transportation, it is a little out of town, (NW), 1.5 km from train station and 2.0 km from bus station. Enjoy Surin town & province. I always do!!! There is a survey below, mini refrig. yes. Stocked mini bar, no. 2 bottles free drinking water.
