I received a renovated room , room was okay very modern and basic .. I would suggest large size pillows for king size beds instead of the small ones. Also there are no fridges or microwaves! Here are my problems .. I checked in after 5 went and peeked at the room and left to go to the ******. I didn’t get back to the room till around 2 am .. Come back in my room and see that some one left one of the drawers open .. luckily I didn’t bring belongings to the room until I actually came back to the room to go to sleep .. The room wasn’t that bad but Morning comes and as I’m resting around 8:30-9:30 am I could literally hear housekeeping knocking on doors asking people where they about to check out to see if they were in their rooms but check out isn’t till 11 . That is soo rude but also mischievous! I even received the knock and I had a do not disturb card up! Will not stay here again .. and do not leave valuable belongings in rooms unattended .

We stopped on a recent roadtrip at the Ameristar Hotel in Vicksburg, MS. We like visiting casinos, and had stayed at other Ameristar properties including the newer venue in Black Hawk, Colorado. The lobby is nice, and the people were generally friendly. But the hotel room was in desperate need of a deep cleaning. The carpet had not been vacuumed nor had furniture been dusted in a very long time. There was a medicine dispenser cap on the floor in the bathroom, and the tile floor was stained and sticky. We generally wear flip flops in hotel rooms, and make sure we don't set our suitcases on the floor. We were tired and decided to put up with it. But the final shock was getting into bed and noticing stains, probably blood, on the white comforter. We immediately checked the rest of the bedding to make sure it was clean, then re-arranged sheets to avoid contact with the comforter. I don't normally post negative reviews, but felt something needed to be said in this case. I would advise people to look elsewhere in Vicksburg for lodging until this situation is remedied.

Not only was this place gross, it was also scary. Suspicious looking people were hanging out in the parking lot staring at our vehicle. Faint aroma of marijuana hung in the air there. Bags of trash were sitting outside many of the doors. The pool and hot tub unspeakably nasty. My husband found a bug in the refrigerator. Bathroom door wouldn’t close. Stains on the bedspread. One bedside lamp was inoperable. I wouldn’t have walked barefoot on the carpet. Room smelled like a can of floral deodorant spray blew up inside it. Our dogs were sneezing and pawing at the door to get out. We didn’t even bother bringing our bags up. Walked back to the car and promptly drove away.

Now that LQs don't take pets or charge ridiculous add-on fees, we were looking for alternatives. This motel was a nice surprise. It's not fancy, but the complex was very quiet even though it seemed lots of the rooms were occupied. Our room was priced right (even with a $10 pet fee), very clean, recently renovated (much nicer than the Choice Hotels website photos show), and quite spacious with a comfortable king bed, lounging chair with ottoman, good work space, mini fridge and microwave (which, oddly enough were not--yet?--situated in the new furniture that had built-in spaces for them), good lighting and side tables, dresser and hanging clothes area, plenty of hot water in the tub/shower. Breakfast was sparse (white bread to toast, waffles, juice, two cereal options, coffee, tea, and non-dairy creamer), and the tiny breakfast area was packed with (very polite) construction crew members. It's right off I-20, so it was a convenient stop on our road trip. There were several chain and non-chain restaurants nearby. We'd stay again.

This motel is a throwback to the late '60s when Howard Johnson was transitioning from the iconic roadside travellers restaurant to the hostelry business following the lead of Marriott and Holiday Inn. HoJo's motels have mostly disappeared except for a few relics, of which this is one. Very clean rooms, well appointed and a good value when booked online. Great retro color color scheme in the room and table lamps in HoJo colors (soft orange and dark powder blue). Original HoJo "resort" posters in the lobby. Out host Jack was most welcoming and helpful.

This hotel is perfectly nice for the price. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly, however, we got there just after driving through a tornado (trees coming down, sirens wailing, etc.) and were a bit shaken. I asked (somewhat jokingly) if the hotel had a storm shelter and the girl looked at me like I had two heads. Oh well, just another day in Mississippi. :)

We stayed here in January 2020 and the weather was a bit chilly. We checked in and our room was ready straight away. The room was warm and cosy and the beds were very comfortable. The only thing was we couldn't get the shower to work. We went to reception and the lady at the desk showed us how it operated. After that it was plain sailing! There was plenty of hot water and amenities and the room was well appointed with a fridge and microwave. The breakfast was included and there was plenty of choice. All in all we had a very comfortable stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed here one night. The room was clean and comfortable. Sheets were a little scratchy but pillows were comfortable. They allowed us to check in early and the hotel staff were very nice. The ****** was fun but was only in there for about an hour. It does appear more smoky than some. I would stay again.

We were on a road trip and always try to stay within walking distance of downtown and the location of this 'hotel' was perfect. The building is a bit rough looking so to is the reception area and lifts. The room was quite shabby but the bedding, towels etc clean. All of this is ok for a few nights but the service is the worst ever ever experienced. On arrival in reception we were looked at but not spoken to untill asked for ID the girl had a problem on computer so called (we assumed) manager who walked out picking her nose and totally ignoring us. I could spend a long time here telling you about the unhelpful and rude staff but wont bore you, all I'll say is for the two nights we were here we were totally ignored by every member of staff. Unbelievable. Such a shame as this is the only hotel in downtown and the building/rooms with a little TLC and a complete change of staff/management or lessons in customer service could be great. Another downtown hotel opening would perhaps solve this. The town is a lovely stroll away and is great the people so friendly everywhere we went.

My husband was staying here for an extended work trip. I meet him with our two small kids for a couple of days. We called the front desk to see if they had chocolate milk one morning. Unfortunately they were out. We said thank you and didn’t think much of it. About 10 minutes later the desk attendant brought a cup of chocolate milk up to the room from the coffee shop in the lobby. Our little girl was so happy! The attendant didn’t have to do that but he went out of his way to provide great customer service. We will definitely stay at courtyard hotel whenever we travel now!

Chose this because we wanted a little bit of a cheaper place, and it is what it is. Got what I paid for and the room is cleaner than nicer hotels I’ve stayed at. Had a bit of a funny issue with the heater burning up some dust and setting off the smoke detector but nothing the hotel is responsible for. I mean it’s a super 8 so not a lot to say, we all kind of know what to expect. Besides it being very noisy and feeling a little unsafe at night with some interesting characters in the parking lot, the hotel was fine and we had a good enough stay in it for a night.

Excellent service and fair price. Have stayed in several other motels in Vicksburg. Comfort Suites is the best motel in Vicksburg Mississippi. Motel and rooms are very clean, and the breakfast is super good. The motel is easy to find from the interstate.

We stayed here twice, one night traveling to our destination and one night traveling home. Overall, it is a nice hotel and the people are friendly. I had a couple of concerns though. The first night we stayed one staff member at front desk had a mask on but pulled it down when she wasn't assisting anyone and I passed a housekeeper in the hall not wearing a mask. The second time we stayed, I noticed mask wearing was more lax among the staff than the previous week. The masks seemed to be over the chin more than over the face. The housekeepers weren't wearing them at all. That made me quite uncomfortable. The second floor ice/vending room looked like something had been spilled on the floor and walked on the first time we stayed. The second time we stayed, again on the second floor, the ice/vending floor had obviously not been cleaned in the interval because the floor was even worse. The rooms were clean but smelled a little stale. I would definitely stay here again but it was uncomfortable for me with the staff not wearing masks appropriately.

My husband and I took a weekend trip down the Natchez Trace Parkway and spent a delightful evening at Steele Cottage! We experienced the best of historic charm and Southern hospitality. Our room was lovely, along with all the cottage amenities. The highlight of our entire weekend was our breakfast and tour at the owners’ sister property, the Duff Green Mansion. We highly recommend this property as a wonderful visit to a bygone era! ♥️

This hotel is in a terrific location just a short drive from the Vicksburg National Military Memorial. Our king room was spacious, with a comfortable bed, good bathroom (with upscale toiletries), free WiFi and flat screen TV. The breakfast was good with several hot options and warm cinnamon rolls as a point of difference. Our only disappointment was that as we were about to enter our room after breakfast, the housekeeper in the corridor asked if we needed anything. We said that we didn’t, and she took that as an instruction not to make up our room. When we returned to our room after a day out in Vicksburg, we were shocked to find an unmade bed, used towels in the bath and our coffee supplies had not been replenished. It’s not a real biggie – another staff member got us some towels and coffee, but we thought that was very poor service and not what we expect from the Holiday Inn.

we were greeted by a friendly helpful staff that went out of their way to accommodate some specials needs I had. The Confederate Room was so warm and cozy, yet very spacious. We could wander about freely, and we did. The breakfast was served in their formal dining room with all the finery. The meal was very good and the conversation with the other guest from all over the U.S. was interesting. The very informative tour was given my the owner, a true Southern Lady, Harley. She really knows her history. She made us feel we were a part of that era as she went a long. I felt ready to start rolling bandages for the soldiers. Even though the weather was not on our side, the accommodations sure were. We recommend Duff Green Mansion!

Stopped in for the night on our way east. Just of the highway near the battlefield. Great, fast service, room was very clean, but larger beds only on the second floor. We had our dog with us and she had to negotiate the wide staircase. She is old and has difficulty walking. Lots of area to walk your dog. room was confortable and everything worked as it should.
