The Ibis Bamberg Altstadt hotel is in the perfect location to explore the old town of this beautiful German city. It's right next to the Hoffmann Theatre so very easy to find. We stayed here for just under a week in a room overlooking the street outside which is a main thoroughfare. It was a bit noisy at night from passers-by, but things went quiet after 11pm. We cannot blame the hotel for outside noise. Our room was lovely with all mod-cons and very well maintained. It was cleaned every day and we were given fresh towels when required. There was a large selection of items for breakfast ranging from traditional continental breakfast to bacon and eggs, cereals, yoghurt etc. There was a good selection of bread and a gluten free option was available. We really appreciated this. The staff were lovely - so friendly, cheerful and welcoming. Particular thanks to the lady who arranged gluten free rolls for my wife - we built up a really good rapport with her; she was delightful. All in all an excellent stay. We would definitely consider staying here again if visiting the area.

I'm really confused as to why this hotel doesn't have at least 4.5 green circles. Its right on the edge of the old town. Public Parking is nearby, we stayed 6 nights and got a weekly ticket for €45. Reception and breakfast staff were lovely, friendly and English speaking. Breakfast room is lovely and a great breakfast buffet. Our room (501) was large and very comfortable with views across the rooftops of Bamberg. Bed was very comfortable, air con, TV, fridge. Very quiet. Public transport is available close to the hotel and Deutsche Bahn currently have a Travel Card available at €9 for a whole month of regional travel including buses, trains and trams. We used this to visit Bayreuth and Nuremburg. Highly recommend this hotel.

I had high expectations based on other reviews and the hotel did not dissapoint. Check-in: Staff was welcoming and friendly and very patient with my rusty German speaking! They even took the time to show us to our room. We were given a very detailed and helpful overview of the town and location of key sites at the front desk. Can't say enough about the staff. Great job! Hotel Rooms & Facilities: Everything about the hotel was sparkling clean. Our rooms were large and well appointed. Views from both rooms were wonderful. Everything was in good working condition. The bathrooms were large and modern. Beds extremely comfortable. Good Wifi signal throughout hotel. Overall I would say the owners have done an outstanding job of modernizing a classic old building. We had a delicious breakfast one morning, but unusual for Germany it was not included in our room rate. We did not eat any other meals, but we noticed there was always a good crowd in the restaurant. Location: The Nepomuk is located on a quiet side street on the southern edge of the Altstadt right on the river. Although most buildings in this part of town have not had a recent facelift, you are just a couple short blocks from the heart of Bamberg's incredible, beautiful Altstadt. Bamberg: There is a reason the Altstadt is a UNESCO world heritage site. It is a wonderful, compact glimpse into another time. We were very impressed with everything we saw. Highly recommend a visit.

We parked our car in the underground parking (free). Hotel was easy to find. Room was quiet and could be made very dark because of the outside shutters. Nice tv. Last night I stayed at Hotel Residenzschloss on the River Regnitz in Bamberg, just a short walk from the historic city centre. The interaction of Baroque and modern styles shapes the atmosphere of this house built in 1787. Booked two big, one small room with three meals, 9-year-old baby extra bed, the room is very spacious. The hotel has an underground parking lot. The parking fee is more than ten euros a day. The specific amount is forgotten. Easy walk to the center of Bamberg.

The hotel has an underground car park for a fee of 12 Euro/day. The location is far from the old city, and the tourist content is mostly in the old city, so it is quite far away to eat and go shopping. I found out there, for some reason, Bamberg is not big but there are a lot of hotels, so I don't recommend it here. Breakfast buffet, more common. I feel more tourist-like than a business hotel, so I feel that I should not have an extra bed. From the perspective of bedding, it is not suitable to bring children.

They are for a short stay in the city and have been looking for a central hotel. The location is also really OK, about 10 minutes to the city centre. The breakfast buffet is not cheap, but perfectly OK - who wants only a coffee and a bread in the morning is also very well served in the cafe adjacent. Unfortunately, we had not looked at all the recessions before booking and let us be misled by the pictures. Unfortunately, the room looks very afforded and the bathroom looks like in the 1970s. The room is not very quiet on the stall side, therefore, actually, but directly on the chair, which is noisy when traveling in the evening and night hours. What I find a little weak for a 3-star hotel is the room equipment. There should be a waste shop. With a water cooker for a coffee or tea I would also have liked that it should be possible at the room price - this offered at least in the past many of the equivalent hotels. The staff is very friendly.

Very functional hotel reminiscent of a UK travelodge being very clean, good comfy beds but no frills. Good wi-fi. It is located a fair walk outside of the centre but is situated very well for buses into and out of town including late night buses. Most buses finish early before 6/7pm. As we were staying 4 nights we bought a 7 day mobi-card for 2 people for €15.20 unlimited travel which is excellent value, but you have to purchase via a ticket machine as not available as an e-ticket on line. One criticism is the lack of a net curtain in bedroom, having a floor to ceiling window was like living in a goldfish bowl which could have frightened the neighbours first thing in the morning had we not been careful. The shower was good except that it could not be adjusted for height but could be hand held. Stating the hotel has a bar is a little optimistic as it consists of the hotel receptionist with beer and two bottles of wine, red or white. However I recommend you try the beer just for the sheer entertainment factor seeing it being ‘poured’. Overall we enjoyed staying at this hotel and would consider staying again as long as we remembered to pack a net curtain.

A large hotel with a lot of local cattle. Breakfast is rich and hot food is less. The environment is beautiful and the attraction is very convenient. Bamberg is really beautiful, and people think of a word: the years are quiet. I hope it will not be destroyed. The only dissatisfaction was to book more than a month in advance, still only to give us the room on the ground floor. The light is dark. I suggest that you do not want to live on the first floor and ask for it earlier. After all, live for two days. Outside is a riverside trail, and many foreigners are running all day long, some are ringing. Feeling is almost to be. Drinking water is only given for one day, and the next day is not given. The price of water here is not cheap, at least a large bottle of more than a dozen yuan. It’s a fly in the ointment.
