Every single interaction I had with the staff was an example of what customer service should be. The front desk staff made every effort to accommodate my requests and were always friendly. Shataya was of great help and really all the front desk staff from my visit Monday 9/5-Thursday 9/8! Austin was one of my shuttle drivers and took me to a nearby address to make sure I didn’t get lost. Again, great customer service. After traveling across the country on business trips and vacations, I can easily say this was one of my best hotel stays. Thank you to all the staff!!

There are refrigerators and microwave ovens, so you can buy things yourself and simply make something to eat. Hot water is available throughout the day. |9.6km from city centerI recently stayed for a college bowling tournament. The hotel was full because of a Badger game but never seemed crowded. Staff I encountered were very nice but I can't imagine having to deal with the numerous customer complaints they must receive. Positives: Great rate with our group, easy check-in, beautiful lobby/hallways, clean room, large counter in the bathroom (one sink did not bother me), shower had great water pressure, convenient location to shopping and restaurants. Negatives: Air conditioning had been turned off, so only heat blowing into an already warm space (maintenance man very upset about it/opened our window for us so we could get some air), expensive breakfast buffet when compared with quality, buffet opened 25 minutes late (had to go to Starbucks), mattress was very hard, bathtub/shower seemed much smaller than usual, slow wi-fi even though I have member status, computer in the lobby uses Internet Explorer so none of my Google accounts would work (welcome to the year 2000), pool right in lobby which seemed very awkward. I would only stay here again if I had no other choice. I felt bad for my friends who had a room with a window only into the lobby--no natural light and no way to cool the room. Don't be fooled by the lobby--book a room somewhere else.

One problem is that the window is completely sealed, the air conditioner is either cold or hot, it is not very practical for the weather of about 20 degrees, and the room may be more stuffy. |1.22km from city centerI recently attended a conference held at the Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor's Club and stayed three nights at the property. Shuttle bus driver Brian picked my co-worker and me up at the airport and was so kind and friendly! His recommendations for great food and sights in Madison were spot on and much appreciated. We received a warm welcome when we arrived and enjoyed a wonderful soup/salad bar/dessert lunch at CIRC. My room was clean and spacious. I loved the walk-in shower and makeup vanity space with chair in the bathroom, which was clean and stocked with plenty of towels. My favorite part of my stay was the comfortable bed and bedding, especially those wonderful pillows! I haven't slept that well in ages. The hotel is conveniently located to the Square with plenty of restaurants and entertainment within walking distance, making it a perfect conference site. I highly recommend the Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor's Club and hope to return soon with my family for vacation!

|10.74km from city centerWorst. Hotel. Ever. We were bumped from our reservation at another hotel owned by this chain. They gave us an ultra cheap rate to stay at the Microtel. We had purposely gotten a room with a king bed because I had had Rotator cuff surgery the week before and needed the room. We booked the room because we had to be at the airport at 5am and we live about 2 hrs away. At first I thought it would be fine , and I knew there was a big event in Madison that weekend. We should have gone home abs driven dish the next morning at 0- dark- thirty. Room - tiny 1 queen size bed. I guess I should have figured a much with micro in the name. Inefficient and ugly lighting I bet they never stay in a room or try to work at the desk! Air cooling- moved the air around , but set on high cool we should have been freezing- ran constantly at 80 db! Bed was uncomfortable and small Door keys stopped working right after we got in the room. This would be ok for younger people but not for us. Bit with the money we paid at $47.00.

|1.31km from city centerWe stayed here while visiting my daughter at UW for her birthday. There were 4 of us (myself, husband, 16 yr old and 3 yr old) and I booked the double queen poolside room. Best decision ever! The rooms are somewhat small, especially when you add a pack and play for a toddler. But with the pool lobby area it felt like an extension of our room. The hotel wasn’t crowded at all and we enjoyed using the pool and hanging out in that area. There was even a nice bathroom that comes in handy with 4 people (ended up being 5 because my daughter who said she would want to sleep back at her dorm decided to stay as well.) The room was very clean and updated and amenities seem well kept. The location can’t be beat. We walked to dinner and breakfast. My only complaint (more of a suggestion) would be a coffee station in the lobby. The restaurant on-site sells coffee but we ended up going next door. Overall, I highly recommend and on an “off” weekend in February, it’s very reasonable.

Love the location closed to State Capital and Kohl Center. Facility was very clean. Hot breakfast breakfast was great. Staff was very accommodating during the stay. I would definitely stay at this facility again in the future and recommend family and friends.

|11.22km from city centerI arrived on 4/23 around 5:30 in the evening. I was greeted happily by a young man named Michael at the front desk. He cheerily checked me in and also thanked me for being an IHG rewards member. He handed me my keys and gave me the quick 30 second speech about wifi access etc. I got into the elevator and could immediately smell gasoline or diesel exhaust. I noted it and made my way to the 4th floor where it smelled just as awful there. I entered my room and the smell was gone - thankfully! After a quick check that everything was in order and the room was clean I went back down to grad dinner with my family. I told Michael that the room was nice and then explained the smells in the elevator and on the 4th floor. He immediately apologized and explained that someone had ”spilled gasoline in the garage” and that he had the doors open to air things out a bit. I told him that the smell hadn't reached my room and I told him that I'd need to move if it did. He completely understood and told me to keep him posted. We returned from dinner an hour or so later and the smell was almost completely gone. It was totally gone the next morning. Speaking of morning, we were offered the normal grab-bag of food which included a muffin and some other stuff. We have a peanut allergy in the family and couldn't eat one of the muffin flavors provided. My wife made a quick run back to the front desk and Michael gladly hooked us up with flavors that were peanut safe. You can't ask for more than that! The room was great. Clean and updated. The staff was amazing. Michael really made me feel like this property appreciated my IHG Elite status and I was pleased for the duration of my stay. We will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for a great stay.

|4.41km from city centerThis is a very nice, almost upscale Springhill Suites just to the west of the UW campus (so it's on the opposite side of Madison from the airport). The hotel's location is great within easy walking distance of tons of stores and restaurants. You can also walk to the west side of the Univ campus from it. Breakfast is included and is very good. The lobby area for the breakfast & bar is big and very pleasant, quite welcoming. The staff at the front desk are extremely friendly and chipper. Rooms are big, including a couch, very good desk & work area, bar, bed(s) and bathroom. My TV wasn't working at all when I was there -- not sure what was up with that. There is one real quirky thing about the rooms as others have noted. When someone goes in the bathroom and closes the door (opaque glass), the bright light beams in on people in bed. It's just a strange design. Overall, it is one of the nicer hotel rooms I have stayed in during recent years though. The hotel is definitely one of the pricier ones in the area. You are paying for the newness and location. Also, there's a charge for parking a car. If you want to save some money, this likely isn't the place for you, but if have a bigger budget, it's a good choice.

There are several supermarkets around, and the fresh market is only four or five minutes' walk away. It is 3-5 minutes walk from the bus station.
The towels are white and the thick soft towels that Americans like to use, which is very comfortable. The sheets and pillowcases were white and clean. Lotion and shampoos are the same brand used in a five-star hotel in Shanghai.
Breakfast and coffee on the lower floor.
The bath water was super hot and comfortable.
Of course, like other foreign hotels, toothbrushes, toothpaste and slippers are not provided. This is expected so I prepared it in advance.
All the hotel staff were very friendly and would be happy to help.
Booked on Ctrip. Very convenient. Next time I go to this hotel!

But I'll start at check-in: when we arrived there was a sign on the desk saying the attendant was performing another task away from the desk and would be back within 15 minutes (I waited about 10 minutes.) Our key cards quit working each of the 3 days we were there and every time we went to reprogram them, the sign was up and we waited. The hallways were a festival of weird smells. At night the hallways reeked of marijuana, which I do not have a problem with, but it's not something I really want when I'm traveling with my children. Also not really something I want to smell as I'm falling asleep. There was a large puddle of dog pee in the middle of the landing between the first and second floor steps that was there for a couple of days. The steps were pretty dirty anyway. We stayed in room 212. One of the couches was broken, the dresser drawers were broken, the outlet in the bathroom didn't work. The person upstairs was super loud beginning around midnight each night. I was impressed with how clean the room was, I was less impressed with the cockroaches that welcomed me to the bathroom in the middle of the night. There is a crack between the floor and the wall in between the toilet and the bathtub, that appeared to be where the cockroaches were entering from. I killed several cockroaches but the rest escaped into that crack. I booked the room because of the extra space and the kitchen, which we definitely used, but it was much shabbier than it appeared in the photos on the website. I do not see myself ever staying in another Extended Stay America again and I would certainly not recommend it to anyone I know.
