The hotel is conveniently located, just next to the train station Saanenmöser (14 minutes train ride to Gstaad, 17 minutes bus ride to Saanen). While train line and pass road are nearby, it was not noisy at all - and I’m somewhat sensitive on that front. Our room (category “Panorama”) in the main house had a nice view towards the mountains, with a balcony facing West. The room was spacious with two armchairs and a small desk, the very comfortable and the bathroom with shower and bathtub well equipped. We were very happy with our room. Note that the hotel is large (probably way over 100 rooms) and that there are different room categories, with some of the cheaper ones located in the annex (“Chalet”) that is connected to the main building through a glass corridor. I don’t understand other comments complaining this would be too far; it’s really not. A highlight is the restaurant: Some of the best food we’ve had in a hotel in Switzerland. Half-board includes five courses to be chosen either from the menu that changes daily or the a la carte menu. The food was excellent, and desserts in addition very creative. They also have an extensive and very well chosen wine list. I recommend to take half-board (which I usually don’t take), since the quality/price relation is very good, and it allows you to experience the chefs abilities in different facets. Breakfast was also very good, in particular the omelette prepared outside on the terrace. The SPA/sauna is good, with 3 wooden saunas (50/70/90 degrees), a vapor bath and a comfy relaxing room. In addition, there is an indoor pool and a textile sauna next to it. Massage was good as well. The pool was nothing special to me, but kids seemed to enjoy it. My suggestion would be to allow for a possibility for sauna users to get some fresh air outside, maybe with some deck chairs. Service was very good, in the whole hotel, but in particular at the restaurant. Staff have handled the special Covid situation and related measures (dinner service in two shifts from 6pm and from 8.30pm) very well, which is not easy. I honestly had not thought such pleasant evenings at the restaurant were possible these days. They were - thank you very much!

We stayed here for two nights in early September . Our room was one of the largest we stayed in during our 18 night holiday in Switzerland, as well as a sitting area there was also a small dining table and chairs. It also had its own outside area, which unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of either because we were out or the weather was a little cool. The buffet breakfast had a large selection of foods. We received good service at all of the hotels we stayed in in Switzerland but the service provided by the breakfast staff at the Alpenrose was just that little bit better- very warm and welcoming and sincere. We had great views both from our room and the breakfast room.

A family room for four, there is even enough space for grown up children, comfortable beds, nice to have shower, toilet and wash basin apart. The common areas are decent, the place is clean and the family welcoming. Breakfast is fine. We were there at a quiet time over Christmas, so we had easy access to table tennis and table foot. But if the house is fuller passtime activites are thin. One table tennis, one baby foot, one smallish room for X-Box or films - not really enough. If children are grown up the one room comes at more than 220 CHF - that is steep for what it is.

On the positive side there are absolutely no complaints about the cleanliness of the hotel. Nicely located, and nice terrace area. The manager was at pains to appear friendly, and this was reflected in most of the staff. The quality of the food was excellent. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate. Sadly the bar experience left a lot to be desired. It really isn't difficult to make a gin&tonic, and whilst an Aperol Spritz is a little more complicated, it proved beyond the bar staff to serve them consistently as expected. Whilst acknowledging that the food was good, the menu was such that it was difficult to find enough variation for a whole week. As such, we have up half board 3 nights out of 7 just to get a bit of variety. It was also difficult to understand the price politics of 'a la carte' versus half board (there was no separate half board menu, as would be expected). E.g.some courses on the menu that cost more than others didn't carry a surcharge, whilst the cheaper one did. On the subject of extra charges, can you believe they charge an extra CHF10 for a bathrobe! This when charging CHF 330 a night for the room. Oh, and make sure you don't lose a plastic key card, as that will set you back CHF20.

The overall quality of Swiss hotels is really high, with details in place everywhere. The same is true of this hotel. The handsome guy at the front desk is really super enthusiastic. He will say hello every time he meets, and explain how to play the Matterhorn route when he checks in. The breakfast husband said that it was the fullest day in Europe. There are boiled eggs and fried eggs. Fried eggs are not salty and rare, and there are small cakes. This salmon is super fresh and has a lot of fruit. The best thing is that the juice is freshly squeezed, squeezed by yourself, and there is a special machine for pressing fruits. The room was clean, the bed was large and comfortable. The balcony is also nice and you can see the street view. By the way, there are minibars in the room, all of them are free. This is awesome. There are beer and various drinks in it. Seems like 6 bottles. The coffee in the coffee machine is also very good, but I didn't drink it. The hotel has a free mini bus, the front desk said it would take us, but it was useless and I wanted to go around by myself. Very pleasant stay, recommend everyone. The price is not cheap or expensive, around 1500 a night.

Had to transfer unexpectedly from Sunstar Saas Fee to Zermatt. While I am grateful for the transfer they arranged, I must say there seems to be big differences between Sunstar properties. The location in Zermatt is very convenient. Short walk to town or to Sunnega lift station, and there’s a bus stop just outside the ski room to get to the Matterhorn lifts. The ski room is fine but does not have individual storage for guests. The restaurant was only open for breakfast. The buffet was fine, though a notch down from the one in Saas Fee in terms of offering. I did find the room quite small and rather interesting configuration. Obviously, the sight in Zermatt is Matterhorn. The bed is arranged so you get a direct view of the Matterhorn. This results in decent amount of “dead space” in the room that is small to begin with. The shower and the sink are in the room, so if you are used to having bathroom privacy… In my friends’ room the toilet was right behind the headboard of the bed. Apparently not lot of noise insulation. I would note I woke up both mornings earlier than planned when the next-door room turned on the shower. As a single traveler the room was fine for few nights. I would think that two people with all the ski gear it may start feeling quite tight. I have stayed at numerous other four-star properties in Zermatt over the years. I just don’t think Sunstar measures up.

Fleurs De Zermatt is a very nice hotel with very high tech and mountain motiff rooms. Plenty of storage and lighting was motion activated. Great bathrooms with heated floor and large bathtub. Bath robes too...comfy beds and wonderful buffet breakfast each day. This hotel is very quiet and close to train station - but far enough away so it was very quiet...staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel is CLEAN! No drinks or food except water and an espresso maker in the room. We liked that unique rule, the rooms are very clean and finishes very nice. Hotel not over crowded, perfect for couples...not a lot of kids which was very nice. Booked through our great travel agent, Vapiano Travel...check them out.

The family room we stayed in was very good. We could also cook, have more balconies, and enjoy the cool and scenic view. The hotel is very close to the train station, but the location is very quiet, there is a supermarket diagonally opposite, shopping is convenient. The owner of the hotel is warm and generous. There is a large bowl of apples at the front desk. Guests can take it at will and watch our 4 adults bring a baby. They are afraid of being squeezed and send us a room for free. The hotel’s own thermal pool and sauna are also great, and the pool is also a bubble bath.

We just came back from our first Switzerland ski trip. This hotel is centrally situated on the bus route. A 5-min walk to bus if you want to go to Matterhorn side, and 10-15 min walk to the cog rail/lift if you want ski Rothorn. Also it is a 5-10 min walk to the center of the village and the train station. We love the location because it is close to everything but quiet at night. Rooms are clean and new. Breakfast buffet is awesome! You have to try the restaurant in the first floor. Their “flame” cooking in front of you is really a cool experience. They have a lot of chocolate for their guests as well - decent Swiss chocolate! The wellness center which has jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna which is a must-go after a long day ski. If we ever go back to Zermatt, we will definitely stay at this hotel again. We left our luggage at the hotel on the day of leaving, and my husband was still skiing one hour before the train departed. That sounded crazy but the ski rental store (Matterhorn Sports) right across the hotel was so efficient and made this happen.

Hotel is very conveniently located, just about 150 meters from the Zermatt train station, and the Gornegrat station. It is right on the main street, close to ***y shops and restaurants. Coop supermarket is available in the mall opposite the train station. Room size is not large, but adequate, and beds are quite comfortable. Amenities like toothbrush, toothpaste and water flask are not provided, but slippers and mineral waters are available. Restaurant at the ground floor is quite well decorated. Breakfast has adequate varieties, but should not expect the same as the hotels in mainland China. Special compliment to a the elderly gentlemen at the reception, who was very kind and friendly during the stay, and personally led me to find the Chinese restaurant just nearby, and even show the way to taking the Glacier Express train.

Couldn’t have been more impressed with this place. Went to Zermatt on a whim and was lucky enough to stay here. The staff was incredibly kind and above and beyond with accommodations. The rooms are spacious and well designed. The bed was super comfortable. The views of the Mountian are amazing. The lodge is centrally located and just a short walk to the village and Harry’s Bar. You can easily walk to the gondola or the bus stop. This is hands down my first option for lodging and I won’t come back to Zermatt unless I can stay here.

The hotel is in a good location, opposite the train station, and there is a red line in the town and a green line bus. The hotel belongs to the self-service hostel hostel, which has a large kitchen and dining room. The kitchen utensils are very complete, and the pots and pans are connected to the rice cooker. Because Swiss prices are really expensive, we are all eating food in the kitchen by COOP. Many of the guests who have stayed here for a few days are buying ingredients in a box and affixing their names. I really like this kind of hostel. Friends from all corners of the country gather here to be self-sufficient. Use the endless ingredients to stay there for the people you need.
