Not our first stay here and I am more than sure that it will not be the last either. Please don't go there thinking you will be in a posh hotel in a posh room, you will be disappointed, however if you go with the view of what you are paying for the room then I don't think you will be disappointed at all, it is cheap and cheerful, friendly staff and plenty of places to get food outside with a supermarket right across the road. . . And a great nights sleep too.

We came to Premier inn Hall Green and a lovely lady named brook was helpful throughout our stay. We have stayed at many places over the last few weeks and after the service we received from this one individual we pay more to come here. Considering we are all in the current situation with the pandemic, nothing stops good customer service. She is a massive credit to Premier inn hotels and very accommodating. Once again thank you brook.

We stayed 2 nights here, first night our son’s bed was broken, they had made this bed up knowing it was broken?? You have to ask why?. They Changed this room on Saturday afternoon to a new room! What we thought was better!!! Staff helpful though. But we soon found out to our cost that this room! Hadn’t been left ready for new customers! Only one towel not tea and coffee tiny bit toilet paper no soap We used the bath and it started to leaking so we couldn’t use this anymore There was a bad smell around the bed We couldn’t find it or pinpoint the smell at first so we went to bed 🛌 as we all had a very long day! It wasn’t until we were actually in bed that we could we smell sick on the bedding or duvet! We rolled this back as we couldn’t move at 11.30pm to another room as my son was asleep 💤 we had already moved that day, so for a two night stay to move three times would have been unacceptable. So we just turned down the bedding! We spoke to Shaun the manager on Sunday morning who was very good and helpful and went above and beyond to help us and understood what we were complaining about. Premier Inn customer services man was useless and couldn’t understand what had happened totally unacceptable, I have had to go to his Manager to get some satisfaction.

We booked Ababeel as it was very close to Birmingham airport and offered a cheap price for a 1 night stay. Ababeel was easy to find and was in a safe neighbourhood. Parking was easy and plentiful in front of main entrance. The manager greeted us warmly and offered us assistance with our luggage. Checking in was smooth and you can pay by cash or card. Our room was up 2 flights of stairs, and the room wasn't en suite. But toilet and shower room were within short walk across a corridor. The showers and toilet room were very clean and well decorated. Well stocked and facilities worked perfectly. Our room was well furnished and clean. The bed was big and comfortable. The heating worked well. Television had plenty of channels. There was a sink basin in the room for brushing teeth. One downside was that the restaurant in the ground floor was closed for refurbishment so we didn't get to sample what would've been great Pakistani food. In any case it's a 5 minute walk to the town centre where there's plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants with affordable prices. The hotel's great for pre or post airport usage. Glad we booked it.

Wifey and I have just come back from a 6 night stay at this hotel. Our son lives in Birmingham and should have been having his graduation ceremony which was cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak. We had the time off booked so decided to come up and visit anyways. The hotel had only just reopened for business and there were some restrictions in place as a result of the virus. The room was a pleasant surprise, spacious, light and airy, if a tad warm as the radiator had been turned on. The bed was comfy and the bathroom nice a clean with reasonable pressure to the shower. Could have done with a little more storage but then I don't expect too many people stay for more than a couple of nights normally. We did discover that the seal round one of the double glazed windows was not very tight so, with the room being at the front of the hotel, some traffic noise filtered through into the room. Being a light sleeper this was a bit annoying for me as the local emergency services do like to use their two tones at all hours of the night. Also the guest above us must have been wearing hobnail boots round their room as we could hear every footstep as they wandered around at 3am! Restrictions also meant that the room was not serviced every day but was cleaned and the bed changed just the once but this was not a problem for us. We had booked bed and breakfast so I was rather looking forward to my full English every day so you can imagine my disappointment when breakfast was just a grab and go bag. The kitchen and bar at the hotel remain closed for the time being so breakfast consists of a bottle of water, carton of juice, croissant, blueberry muffin (the best bit), a piece of packaged cheese, a small container of jam and a piece of fruit. This is fine and full credit to the hotel for trying their best but after the third day it was a bit dull. The staff are brilliant and even showed concern when we stopped taking all the breakfast bag, thinking that my wife was not eating properly. (We did find a little coffee shop just over the railway bridge called Marshalls where bacon and sausage was available) The hotel bar was also closed which was a shame and obviously we could not get an evening meal if we had wanted one. The hotel is right next to Acocks Green station with two trains an hour into Birmingham on the current timetable. Once things are more normal I imagine there would be maybe one more as currently there is a 40 minute gap if you miss the 43 minutes past train. The hotel itself is doing what it can to survive and they told use they have an agreement with three airlines for their staff to stay at the hotel which explains the comings and goings at al hours of the day and night. I cannot fault the staff who were all lovely and nothing was ever too much trouble. We hope to come back and stay here again and look forward to seeing how it is in more normal times. (If only to try their cooked breakfast and enjoy a bee

I was bought this package as a gift and was bowled over by how lovely it was. We were greeted by the very friendly owner, Mary, with a glass of Prosecco. We then had a fantastic back massage. Our afternoon tea was very very generous and included multiple teas and coffees, a large jug of orange juice and melon to finish. The place is clean and modern and we were asked several times if we were happy with the music in the background and our tea. An absolutely lovely experience and I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Stayed here for a work event which was happening at the same location and I was very impressed. It's a nice looking building in nice grounds and is equally nice inside. My room was a good size with a very comfy bed and clean bathroom. Breakfast choice was good and the cooked breakfast of decent quality.

We booked to stay for 2 nights with our 7 year old to visit the NEC and I always stay in the Premier Inn at the airport but they were fully booked so I booked the Holiday Inn through I searched for Holiday Inn at the NEC as I'd seen the one adjacent to the Premier Inn, what I didn't realise was that don't tell you that there's no vacancies they just put the next available hotel at the top of the list. Having never stayed there before I stupidly assumed we were booking the NEC one instead of this one. I'm not holding Holiday Inn responsible for this at all but beware as it wasn't till the Satnav started directing us away from where we were supposed to be going that I realized something was wrong. Anyway on arrival it seemed that we'd only been given a double room and they didn't seem to be aware there was 3 of us but they arranged for the sofa bed to be made up so no problems there, again I wonder if this is due to but can't sure. When we got to the room it was really noisy as it overlooks a busy main road but I assumed that it would be quieter at night, how wrong I was. We made ourselves at home and went to bed and then the wind really started to get up and the noise was coming through the window really loudly but as our son had gone to sleep we thought we'd grin and bear it. As the night went on and the wind got stronger it became apparent that the reason it was so loud was because the vent in the window was leaking so badly that the curtains were blowing back and forth in the room. It was now the middle of the night and we laid awake till the morning when my wife went to reception and complained. We were told by the man on reception that he was just finishing his shift and was unable to do anything so gave us an email address to write to but they weren't really sure what they could do about it. He also said that we should of contacted him in the night and he maybe could of done something to help but we didn't particularly want to move at 3 in the morning. With the prospect of staying in the same room for another night we made the decision to go somewhere else and managed to get a room at the Premier Inn where we usually stay. Later in the day my wife received a call from a chap called Adam who said "It was really windy everywhere last night ", Presumably indoors as well! He said he could only refund the one night and as of yet I haven't received that. I have stayed in Holiday Inns four times at 3 different locations and I never have a great experience, they just don't seem to have the same attitude as Premier Inn. I have only ever once had a problem with Premier inn and they fully refunded me without me even asking. I don't think I'll bother with Holiday Inn again, Sorry!

The reception staff at Sheldon Travelodge are exceptionally friendly and professionals with a special mention to Cherry Khan who is very accommodating and very helpful, Always has a welcoming smiles and very polite manner when speaking to guests like me. The location of the hotel is very accessible by foot to shops and restaurants. The room i stayed in was large and the shower was brilliant. My overall experience in this hotel is excellent and i will stay there again next time. I recommend this hotel to other travellers like myself and enjoy their stay...!!

I have stayed in numerous Travelodges over the years and granted they are budget priced This one requires some serious TLC. It is looking worn and unclean. My room carpet was dirty, faded and in need of a deep clean. The stairways need re-painting and a good washing down. No change of towels or replenishment of tea/coffe etc in the room. I did not realise that dogs were allowed to stay in the hotel (even though i am a dog lover), i don't expect to listen to barking throughout the evening/night. I seemed to be the only guest wearing a face mask, even though signage was clear throughout the hotel, no staff enforced it. As someone who has recently lost their father to Covid-19, this was most concerning. Also, i wasn't sure if the pungent smell of 'weed' on the corridors was included in the price or an extra! This hotel is not fit for purpose. I would NOT recommend this particular Travelodge to anyone. Most dis-satified as a paying customer.

A party of 3 stayed over recently for a concert which was only a stones throw away from the Moseley arms . A very traditional Irish pub with great beer and a lively venue during weekends. We were greeted and was felt welcome by all staff members who really did try to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We must mention the night porter Adam who is a absolute one man band we watched in disbelief as he ran around the hotel on Sunday morning all alone with no other staff at hand cooking breakfasts, dealing with the bar serving, cleaning tables and even at one point having to remove a unwanted drunken man who had wondered off the back street into the pub causing a nuisance but still smiling!!! We even asked if we could help!! This man is a true credit to the hotel and I honestly believe Adam has credentials to achieve greatness as his work ethic and attitude is second to none. The management should feel ashamed that they could leave one man to do everything without any support, we will be back in may 2020 and we do hope the man is still there!!!

the good: - the location is as central as you can get -reasonably priced -friendly and helpful reception staff - great breakfast buffet - late check out (12) - room had hairdryer, fan, toiletries as well as the usual stuff - nice and quiet - 2 restaurants and bar onsite which you can order 24hr room service from -fairly clean the not so good: -very dated and tired inside rooms, in desperate need of a refurbish -Bathroom could have been cleaner - breakfast buffet needed topping up more often as a lot of things ran out The main problem during our stay was room service. We ordered dinner and after waiting an hour called back to be told they'd lost our order which was pretty disappointing. We ended up ordering food via Deliveroo to the hotel reception. Other all I would give the hotel another chance and stay again when we plan another trip as the location, breakfast, late check out and quietness all make it worth it for us but probably wouldn't order room service.

I stayed there for work between 7-16 March, covering the annual All England Badminton championship. I received the most superb service from every staff at the hotel, from reception to the restaurant to cleaning, they were simply amazing. I have lived as a foreigner in the UK for the past 15 years, but the hotel hospitality surpasses any that I have stayed. One particular reason why I was so impressed was the fact these hotel staff did not treat any of us Asian (Japanese, Chinese, Korean etc) guests any differently, at a time when Coronavirus is causing racism everywhere. Back home in Japan, I believe a hotel there started to create a "Japanese only" floor in order to keep foreigners away to minimise the risk of contracting the virus, and caused a big uproar. I was wondering if it was a burden on the hotel staff, but no, none of the staffers showed any such prejudice against me who looks blatantly Asian (North Asian, that is) and also, the level of service was superb. Every query and requests were dealt with promptly and in the most friendly/warm manner. I would recommend Jurys Inn Birmingham to any future traveller without any hesitation. Thank you for making this stay such a pleasant experience for us.

What saved this visit was the breakfast. Excellent egg station and great variety. Bar is OK, and food in the restaurant is passable. Rooms are average and the location is brilliant. Nothing exciting about this hotel, just a good solid Hilton. Not sure what I was told is an upgrade was actually one. Still - for a short business trip this is perfect. If are are torn between the Hampton up the road on Broad Streed and this one - the Garden Inn wins hands down.

More suitable for business travel, the room is too ordinary, just ordinary express hotel, buffet breakfast is also very average. The hotel does not have free parking. You can park in the opposite mall, but the parking fee is about 20 pounds. It is better to set the crown next to it and also bring free parking. I once lived in Canada on holiday inn and I feel pretty good, but really it is a lot worse. But the room is still very clean, it is enough for business trip

Had a brilliant afternoon with my bestie at the Arden hotel - wowcher deal for afternoon tea/leisure. Welcoming smile on reception and helpful direction to restaurant. We were early but got seated right away for afternoon tea by lovely waitresses who couldn’t do enough for us (at 1pm on 6th March so thanks to those on duty that day). So refreshing to have attentive staff genuinely happy in their work and so friendly. Afternoon tea absolutely delicious and plentiful and waitress offered to box up what we didn’t eat so we could take it home. Same happy helpful service at the leisure club reception and we enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna for a few hours. So relaxing and great value for money. Would definitely go again!

Just back from a 2 night stay, we have been visiting this hotels for the last 10 years. It has special memories for us. We were anxious about the stay as we did not know what to expect under the certain circumstances. We were pleasantly surprised, we arrived to be greeted by friendly and professional staff who are always helpful, with special thanks to Sharan. The room was spotless , carpets and bedding immaculate. We ate in the restaurant, again service great, friendly and polite, very clean. Cannot fault ths stay at all and have rebooked . Thanks to all the hardworking and dedicated staff who have gone above and beyond to adapt to the ever changing restrictions. Well done to you all Best Wishes Kathryn
