Generally, breakfast is not included, the room is not big, and the extra bed is too crowded. No parking lot, there is a bar downstairs

We were pleased to choose The Chronicle as temporary accommodation while relocating to London for work. Our long stay was very pleasant and convenient; the property is located near public transport, supermarkets, cafés, and popular London sights. Although Norwich Street is quiet, especially during the weekend, the greatest highlight of the place is its location, just between the bustling city vibe of Soho and the different scenes of Farringdon and–not too far away–of Shoreditch and Spitalfields, all against the backdrop of the City, the majestic St. Paul's, and the Eye, of which we could see the top from our window. If you enjoy walking and have time to explore, this is the right place to elect as your base. The staff is friendly and very helpful. If you happen to have a longer stay where you require regular cleaning of your room, be sure to talk to the cleaning staff to work out a schedule. The room we were allocated was comfortable enough, with two TV-sets, a fridge, a washing machine, a clothes rack, a spacious bathroom, and plenty of storage. A 1 bedroom-apartment is not ideal if you're two or more people and everybody has to work during their stay because you'll have to share the space, and it can be inconvenient. However, the pros largely outweigh the cons. Highly recommended!

Just a one night visit to London for us, the first time since Lockdown, mainly to go to Camden Market on the Saturday The hotel was ideally placed coming from Bedford by train to Farringdon Station, then a short walk to the hotel through the awfully dilapidated Smithfield Market The hotel was simply excellent, I would guess a recently converted office building We upgraded to a Premium Plus room as it was such a good deal, fridge and a coffee machine, and we were not disappointed, even gave us two £5 vouchers to spend at the bar, unlimited breakfast in the morning was simply amazing, fresh and plenty of it, probably the best we've ever had at any Premier Inn The only criticism was no soap in the dispenser ... a common problem with Premier Inns these day, if it's not that it's a lack of toilet paper! Would happily stay again, and probably will

We were pleasantly surprised arriving at Clerk & Well, with the rooms unexpectedly spacious and well-fitted out with the necessary amenities. The staff had kindly moved our huge luggage up the many flights of stairs after our early check-in, which was a definite help! The warm and cosy rooms were also welcoming after a long day's sightseeing. All in all we would recommend Clerk & Well to anyone looking to stay in a safe, convenient and comfortable location!

Overall the stay was very good. Friendly, professional staff, very clean and comfortable room. Good tea / coffee area etc. Bathroom nice size and very clean / fresh / modern. TV good and bed very comfortable. I would stay again so the following points are for awareness not a reason not to stay. Car parking isnt great with the local one closed at weekends. Safron hill NCP was good value though In room service: Ordered rosemary fries but got normal, disappointing but no time to reorder as going out. Pizza wasnt great - more like mac n cheese on bread.

We stayed here in one of the rooftop suites for our honeymoon. Overall the room was very nice, but the service failed to impress, especially for the occasion & having one of the most expensive suites. When we arrived I felt like I was about to die because we had been on an overnight flight from NYC, where I didn't sleep at all. It was around 11:30 AM when we arrived, and I felt like I was going to pass out. We were briskly informed that early check in was not available and we should go out and come back in a few hours. They weren't very apologetic about it. They said if we wanted early check in we would have had to reserve the room for a whole additional night before. Because spending $400 more for 4 extra hours is a great idea...not. I was so overtired I went and cried in the bathroom out of exhaustion and disappointment. There was nothing I wanted more than to lie down at that moment. It wasn't a very good start to the honeymoon, or first time in London. So we decided to eat a late breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel, which turned out to be terrible food. I tried to walk around a bit to kill time, but I was falling asleep standing up. After two and half hours, I eventually went inside and just sat by the front desk to wait for my room to be ready. At that point I didn't even care if I fell asleep in the lobby. I sat there for another half hour before the room was finally ready. The room itself was big and just as pictured. It had an amazing rooftop view of London and a bath tub outdoors. Sadly the water for the tub only ran to luke warm and not hot enough to even try to use it in Oct. The biggest issue with the room was maintaining a good temperature at night. Even with putting the heat on the lowest setting we woke up sweltering many nights and had to open the door for air. Otherwise everything was pretty standard but aside from the view nothing was very special or memorable about this place. There was a big lack of desk service or concierge in the lobby. I don't think anyone on the staff asked if we needed anything the entire stay. Overall it was an ok place to stay, but forgettable. They certainly didn’t do anything to make our honeymoon special even though we had one of the nicest suites available.

This is best hotel I have stayed in!!! It’s a great price, walking distance to many tourist sites. The staff are amazing and are willing to help with any requests you may have. The room is exceptionally clean, great use of space. The bed can be angled for sitting and watching TV etc. Beautiful mood lighting behind the TV, you can adjust the colours. There is also a gym on the -1 floor. Again top notch gym equipment and very clean. Hand sanitizer, wipes and towels are available. The bar/kitchen staff is super friendly, breakfast is very tasty. The common area is ultra modern and spacious. Meeting rooms are also available. Absolutely perfect!!! I highly recommend

There were two main issues with the hotel which meant our stay wasn’t particularly relaxing. Check-in We arrived at 3pm and were told that the room wasn’t ready because the previous day was Valentine’s Day and they had been very busy (although surely hotels know what their capacity will be on any given date and prepare accordingly?) We were told the room would be ready in 20 minutes and were given drinks vouchers, which was nice until we got down to the bar and realised that nobody else’s room was ready either and they all had vouchers too, so it was impossible to get a drink as the one barman couldn’t cope with the orders on his own. After waiting 30 minutes we went back up to check whether the room was ready. The receptionist radioed housekeeping, who said that a room would be ready in ten minutes, although it sounded like she had said a different room number to the one the receptionist had previously mentioned. The receptionist then turned to us as though we couldn’t possibly have heard the radio conversation and said that the room was ready right now. I asked if it was a different room to the one mentioned previously and she said that it was the same room. She then casually said we should wait ten minutes before going up to the room, even though she had just said it was “ready right now”… We went to the room and, surprise surprise, it was not the room we had booked. The receptionist was obviously trying to fob us off with a different room and thought we wouldn’t notice (!) So I phoned reception and spoke to a gentleman who asked me to come down so he could book us into the correct room. I said I wasn’t willing to keep going up and down all over the place, and by this point it was 4pm so we had already wasted an hour of our one-night break. I asked if he could please sort it out on the system, then bring up our new key and we would go to the room from there. About ten minutes later, he came up, gave us the new key with no apology/explanation, disappeared, and we went to our room – which thankfully was the correct one. Dinner The other issue was that, after I had initially booked, I received a message from the hotel via the website I had booked with. The message welcomed us to the hotel and offered a dinner package, which I accepted. I hadn’t had a reply from the hotel (through the website or anywhere else), so when checking in I mentioned this to the receptionist. She said that the message wasn’t from Malmaison so the dinner offer wasn’t valid, even though the message clearly stated it was from Malmaison. I showed her the messages on my phone, but she still maintained it could not possibly have been from Malmaison. (Even if the message was sent from the website I had booked with rather than Malmaison directly it is impossible that they would just write their own copy and make up random dinner deals – everything would need to be confirmed by Malmaison first.) I know another couple had this same issue too. She said sh
