1.55km from Brasserie Des ArenesWe booked here last minute for the Monaco Grand Prix, as our initial reservations were cancelled elsewhere and this seemed like the only decent place left to book so close to the Grand Prix. Our flight was a late flight arriving into Nice, so it was late when we arrived at the hotel. It was a security man on duty who was lovely, but had hardly any English at all, and we spoke hardly any french. After a lot of of gestures and pointing and us very tired and wanting to get to our rooms, it actually turned out he was trying to get us to add on a breakfast to our room which we didn't want, and he also charged us again for our stay, even though we had already paid for our stay in advance but we weren't sure. Thankfully the next day the receptionist was very helpful and had already corrected the double charge of our stay. During the day there were no issues with staff, it was whenever we returned to the hotel at night, there were any issues, one of the nights we returned and the code to get into the hotel wouldn't work, so one of the security men was shouting at us like we were stupid for not remembering the code..and he then let us in himself. however the next day we asked at reception had the code changed, to which we were then told yes the code had changed the day before..and no one had told us, hence we weren't able to get into the hotel the previous night! The hotel room itself was fine, spacious, nice little balcony with a table and chairs. The beds were not very comfortable though. The area is quite residential, not much happening at all, There are some supermarkets nearby so stock up on things, however there is no fridge in the hotel room. The train station is about 15 mins walk away and there is a tram nearby to get you into the main area, it is walkable but took us about 40 minutes. If you plan on leaving your luggage in this hotel on your final day if you have a late flight, just be aware that there isn't actually a secure place to store your luggage. We were told to leave our luggage behind a desk on i think it was the 2nd or 3rd floor..which anyone has access to. There is a sign up saying there is a camera monitoring the area, but I did not feel my bags were safe at all being left there, anyone could have taken them...after leaving them there for half an hour I really didn't feel comfortable with them there so we went to get them back..and nobody checked with us to make sure we owned them and nobody said anything! We spoke to reception and we were able to keep our hotel room until later that evening for a price i cant remember off hand but was very reasonable. All in all I would not be staying in this hotel again, and I will not be recommending this hotel to others.
