I really enjoyed my stay at the Huagang Hotel. The close proximity to the nightly light show, the museum, great street food and high end restaurants made it great - day or night. Not much English spoken but my translator filled the gaps. WiFi on China is nowhere near secure enough for my taste and the lack of Google products, Facebook, instagram etc is a pain but manageable with forethought. You simply HAVE TO HAVE Alipay and/WeChat on your phone or you can’t function. I still haven’t figured out how to get money into WeChat from Australia with big losses from Aussie banks or relying on Chinese friends. I got burnt badly by Telstra I think - still not certain until I get home, but make sure you turn roaming data off and use a local SIM only. It appears even though my Aussie phone was hotspotted everytime to my Chinese phone, Telstra charged me a fortune for validation of WeChat/weixin payments. Which should have been free of charge through the wifi hotspot! I plan to challenge this Shen I get home. Tony

Came to Ningbo to watch the tennis match and have some fun. MCHY is in a great location. You can go out at night and take a walk in the Old Bund to see the scenery. The only drawback is that the main door faces the pedestrian street. When taking a taxi, you have to locate it to Ningbo Art Museum and then walk in. Service: I booked two two-night packages and stayed for four consecutive days. The short-haired lady at the front desk was very enthusiastic and upgraded us to a river view room. The Sanjiang Tour Wharf is right under the window. She kindly reminded me that it might be a bit noisy, and the hotel provided free earplugs. (After staying for three days, I found that the passenger flow of cruise ships increased only on weekends. It was also good to watch the excitement upstairs. It was quiet after the cruise ended and did not affect sleep) Environment: The lobby on the first floor is decorated in a modern style and is open as a bar at night (but it seems that there are not many people 😂) There is no high-position socket on the wall facing the bed in the room, and the industrial style of water pipes runs through the entire wall. A ”Murphy table” was used, and both chairs can be hung on the wall when not in use, saving space. After studying the shower interface, I found that it was not a household threaded port. It seemed that it could not be removed, and I felt relieved again😌 At first, I thought that the toiletries were in large bottles. I was a little worried after reading too many weird news on the Internet. Later, I found that the lid could not be opened. When the guest room cleaner came to change the bottle, I found that they needed the latch lock they brought to remove the bottle. I felt that when it was designed, many issues that everyone is concerned about now (such as cameras and showers) were specially avoided. The door is particularly like an industrial refrigerator door. The cat's eye is a long strip that opens with a flip cover. It is really funny to see it open from the outside. Hygiene: Except for a few drops of water on the hair dryer box on the first day of check-in, everything else is good Facilities: There is a self-service laundry room and a gym on the 3rd floor. There are not many facilities but they are enough. I went there every night. It faces the art gallery at the corner. It is a different artistic conception to see the art gallery after the lights are turned on at night. Here are some small suggestions~ 1️⃣ The room lighting is very good. Looking in the mirror feels like grinding, but for those who want to put on makeup, there is no makeup mirror. The detailed makeup is painted by holding the mirror against the window. 2️⃣ The room cleaning staff should be trained more. They didn't open the drawer to put tea bags in for two days. When cleaning, they should pay attention to the amount of toiletries. Don't wait for the guests to use them and find that they are gone, and then call and wait for replacement. Overall, I am very satisfied. After the exercise on the first night, they asked for two more bottles of water. On the second day, they directly put four bottles of water. It's very considerate. My mother also likes moxy. Next time I come to Ningbo, I will consider staying there❤️

We enjoyed one night at this hotel. Clean and simple. Wonderful breakfast in a compact dining area, many choices and a chef cooking fresh noodles and other Chinese breakfast staples. Well thought out with plates and chopsticks right in front when you enter. Best thing about this hotel is being able to walk across a bridge in one direction (e.g. to the east) then along the river front to Laowaitan restaurants and bars, then back via another bridge to the west of the hotel. A nice loop. Only surprise was that nearly all restaurants and bars were closed during Spring Festival, so we enjoyed a longer walk in cold rain, into the centre of the city to find a light dinner.

裝修簡約舒適，有江景。使用的自動馬桶，吹風機，淋浴設備，房間控制系統都很切實好用！（不像有些酒店的設備衹是貌似高級一點都不實用。）位置很好，出門逛外灘，江風吹吹，愜意。 有地下停車場，停車也方便。 唯一覺得能再改進的就是前台再主動一些就好了。入住的時候前台給了門卡，但是沒有提及訂單中含有的下午茶，待詢問後，才告知如何獲取。我覺得前台在辦理時應該能看到訂單訊息，主動告知客户感受會更好（還有停車的問題，因為地下車庫收費，住酒店可以減免，前台也可以主動問一句有沒有開車過來）。之後茶點為我們送到房間享用，服務還是很不錯。
