This boarding house enjoys a convenient location directly above Hemingway’s bar, on the fringes of the old quarter of Heidelberg.Come and stay here and enjoy the view directly over the rooftops of Heidelberg, and the majestic River Neckar. You could hardly find a more central place to stay than here, literally only around the corner from the vibrant and bustling Bismarktplatz. Drop into Hemingway’s bar downstairs and join the cult crowd, where you can enjoy a substantial breakfast, good-value lunches, dinners and fine evening entertainment.

I booked at GuestHouse Heidelberg with little advance research; was looking for a cheap-ish place near the old city and chose this one simply because it offered free breakfast in the mornings. Sometimes my whim bookings do not work out, but in this case, I was pleasantly surprised. I arrived ridiculously early in the morning, but the receptionist was able to immediately find a free room for me - which has been rare in my travel experiences. I presume that the rooms come in a variety of sizes, but the one I got was absolutely massive, with a fully stocked kitchenette, generous sitting area, and elevated nook for the bed. It's definitely a guesthouse-style establishment, so the floors can be a little creaky and the style isn't as sleek and shiny as major hotel chains, but I found the place pristine and cozy and charming. It was completely quiet at night, so I slept well, and the breakfast buffet was small but well-curated - coffee and juices, a variety of freshly delivered breakfast sandwiches, pastries and a bit of yogurt and granola. Would absolutely stay here again.

Breakfast is generally (18 euros), it is recommended to eat outside. The room is relatively large, the hotel has a parking lot, but it needs to pay, it is about ten euros a night, the parking lot payment equipment is broken, remember to pay at the hotel front desk! The location of the hotel is also very good, go right and turn right and then turn right for a few minutes to have two lieutenant halls: MR.ZHAO and Danasty, then turn right at the intersection to have a Shanghai restaurant. If you drive 20 kilometers by car, there is a very authentic Zhongliguan Danasty. Another hotel to the castle and the philosopher's path (on both sides of the river) are only two or three kilometers. It is not recommended to go at the same time, too tired. You can go to the castle in the morning, go back to the hotel to sleep for a while, go to the path of the philosopher at night and climb to the middle of the mountain, usually only ten o'clock. You can run along the river early in the morning. Self-driving also recommended a small village, small market (Marktpl. 11, 69469 Weinheim), our German colleagues took us (more than 20 kilometers from Heidelberg), where the house is many hundred years (the house is written on the front wall) Year of construction) There are not many tourists, turn around and find a squatting room to eat or drink something.

We (a young couple) experienced the Mille Stelle hotel to be a very comfortable and affordable hotel. The beds were fine (I wasn't a great fan of the pillows), there was a nice shower, towels, a coffee machine in the room with one cup of coffee per person per day and bottles of water were also available. The room was simple, but we had everything we needed. Would have maybe been nice to have a refrigerator to store some stuff since there is no breakfast available, but obviously we could not expect this for such a low price. It was very nice that our towels could be changed every day and that they made sure we had new coffee and water bottles every day. The hotel is not in the city centre, but within a ten minute walk you're at the main street so it is very close and the hotel is in a great neighbourhood. For us it was possible to park in front of the hotel for 10 euro a day.

Fantastic location and very friendly family running this hotel. Wonderful change from the multi national hotels and nice to get an experience of authentic German hospitality. We stayed as a family for two nights and it is a wonderful location to experience all that Heidelberg has to offer. The 26 tram is just a few minutes walk and gets you into Heidelberg in 20 mins. Family and staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the bar and restaurant area had a real welcoming feel. We had a few drinks outside and in the bar and the ambiance and friendliness was wonderful. Obviously attracts a lot of locals who all made the effort to chat and wish us well. Great sign for the hotel. Our waitress was from the Black Forest and gave is plenty of suggestions for our trip down there. She had been to Ireland on May occasion and kept up entertained with her stories. Lovely historical pictures of Heidelberg and family adorn the walls which is a nice touch. Experience in check in and departure excellent. Breakfast really enjoyable. Safe parking and handy for the motorway. Have to recommend the beer and the Edinburg gin which were particularly good. Would definitely be back, families friendliness makes you appreciate avoiding the big named hotels. Would definitely be back.

Stayed on the night of the 12th of January and am ashamed to say that I did not get the name of the staff member that looked after us. Superb from start to finish. From check in, advice, and in the bar late night. The staff member the following day was also great. The hotel is a little quirky but very comfortable and tastefully uses its building in the heart of the old town of Heidelberg. It’s a good base to explore. The car park is attached with ample size spaces if this matters to you as it does to me. Would I stay again. Yes. It’s was mid range price wise but was great. The staff certainly helped with all of that. Well done!

I was pleasantly surprised with the Hotel Neckartal. It was VERY comfortable, easy check-in and a great host that spoke English. The location provided easy access to downtown Heidelberg (6km away) and to the A5 and A6 autobahns for day trips. The breakfast was excellent for the $10 cost, including breads, cheese and cold cuts but also hot breakfast items like scrambled eggs, sausages and waffles. In the evening I could sit in the hotel bar and have a nice wine or a good beer.

The hotel is right next to the Old Town Square, saying that convenience is not enough, but very convenient! Going to the castle, the old bridge, and the old town are all walking up. The hotel staff is very nice, every time you say hello is a warm, warm smile, it makes people feel very comfortable! The staff will provide maps and guidelines, especially to help with luggage, and the hotel does not have a lift. Breakfast is average, but it is not bad, next door is a Korean restaurant, there are all kinds of small collections, full of fun, taste is not bad! The hotel is especially recommended!

Heidelberg suburb
The hotel is not in the urban area, it is a suburb, but the city is not big, and it takes about 30 minutes to walk to the city center. If you don't want to walk, you can take the No. 33 bus near the hotel, you can go to the city center, you can also go to Heidelberg University, the Old Town and the castle. Wherever you are, Euro2.6 is still very good. The room is not big, basically clean, an extra bed is impossible. If you squeeze and the hotel agrees, double plus one child, a big bed is ok. A tip is given to Euro2 every day. Breakfast is Western style, buffet. Although things are not particularly rich, there are still many, and there are some. Originally, the German diet will not have much expectations. Due to its location in the suburbs, the hotel's parking lot is relatively large, but it is full every day, close to the high-speed exit, and there are many people. If you are driving by car, the hotel is no doubt preferred. Next to the hotel is a gas station. Parking is charged at a rate of Euro8 per day. There is a hotel with the same name in the city center. Don't make a mistake. I just made a mistake, but I am beaten and I don't regret it.

The location is very good, just three minutes from the Hauptbahnhof train station in Heidelberg. After signing up and signing in directly, the waiter will ask you if you need to clean the next day. We said that we don't need it. The front desk will give you a wine voucher, and you can go to the bar for free tasting. The rooms are small, but there are some. Foreign hotels do not need slippers and toiletries to bring their own. There is free wifi and the bathroom has a hairdryer. Health qualified, overall praise ~

Although the service was great, I was expecting something more from Marriott Hotel. It's a bit too expensive for the facilities they offer. I booked the so-called "Guest room" and one can clearly see I was pretty old and looked like a a room in a 3-star-hotel. The bathroom has exactly the size and the appearance of bathrooms in less stars hotels. If you go to Heidelberg because of the old town, bear the in mind it's 4 km far away and in the evening the transportation is a bit inconvenient. Next time I will definitely choose another hotel in Heidelberg.

We selected this hotel based on proximity to the old town, combined with a good price in comparison to other properties. The hotel staff were all extremely friendly and outgoing ... almost everyone had a sufficient grasp of English to help overcome our limited German. We were in a ground floor room (11) that had plenty of space and an adequately-sized bathroom with shower. Only challenge was temperature, since both days of our stay it was sunny with temps of around 28-29C (82-84F). The hotel had a fan in our room which was a Godsend, since our room faced the street ... we kept the windows open as much as possible, but the road noise at night woke us up the first night. That problem was solved with ear plugs we'd saved from the flight over. We had breakfast included in our rate, and the meal was very German, very fresh and very filling. The staff also offered to cook us scrambled eggs each morning, since we're not fans of the hard-boiled variety. Though I had brought an electrical converter and multiple European to US adapter plugs, I forget my European adapter. My wife needed to curl her hair and we couldn't plug the converter in, but as soon as we asked at the front desk they were happy to let us borrow one of theirs. Overall we liked the property and loved the people. The road noise was a challenge (but easy to overcome), and between the open windows and fan we were able to deal with the heat. And the location is a definite plus if you want quick access to the alt stadt ...

We spent two wonderful nights in this well appointed studio apartment. Everything you needed was at hand. Unfortunately due to travel our wires got crossed with the owners as far as Sunday check in time goes. They were kind enough to let us in early and gave us helpful hints as to where to have dinner and where to park to visit within Heidelberg. It was also too cold and damp to properly use the lovely balcony. Parking was exta but the mechanism used for the designated parking spot was easy to use and safe. An outdoor sitting area is probably great during the warmer weather. All in all, this was a great stay and should we return to Heidelberg, we would not hesitate to book Zum Lowen!

I wish that tripadvisor would allow a 4.5 because that is what I would give the hotel. I found the hotel on Expedia, as most hotels for central Heidelberg were sold out. It wasn't until after I booked, and then read the reviews, that I realised that it actually wasn't in the central part of the city, as one might think (but better!) It was a little difficult to find via car at night, in the rain, but relied on the GPS which got us there. Big car park. We were greeted well and the woman made it a point to give us a map and explain any interesting points and information. There was a Christmas event going on, and the restaurant was closed. This was upsetting, because we had been travelling all day and were tired. The receptionist offered that the kitchen could offer room service, but that there might not be a full selection. That was fine with us. We were given the regular menu and ordered the venison and the veal, with a shared apple crepe dessert. It was beautifully presented to us on a large tray at our room. Yes, the meals were quite expensive for us, but honestly, it was one of the best meals we ever had out. We didn't regret it one bit! The room itself was comfortable, but on the small and almost cramped side. The bathroom had a sliding glass door which really did not give one privacy, especially when on the toilet! The shower worked well, but lots of water still seemed to go under the shower door to the floor. The soap dispenser above the sink barely squeezed out soap, but we had brought our own. Shower only. The style is "luxury boutique". TV channels were french and German, but no English. That was fine with us...we just went online. The view was on the car park, opposite from the view of the old town below on the opposite side. The bedding was very nice, and we had a very comfortable night sleep. No noise, but that may be because we weren't on the other side above the event side. There were plenty of electrical outlets and lights. The door opened with a key, but it locked automatically when closed. No coffee or tea making facilities. (we always bring our own anyway but it's nice to have). Good hairdryer. We did not have the breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on it. However, we did go out onto the terrace where the event took place the night before. It overlooks the river and the old town. we tooks lots of pictures! High marks for ALL the staff. Much appreciation for the kitchen staff who put out an excellent meal, despite that they were serving that night and only catering to the private party. The hotel is high up, and RIGHT next door to the funicular rail that takes you first to the Castle, and the next stop in the old town Kornmarkt. great views and quick. The next day we checked out, and put everything in the car and left it. Took the funicular down to the old town. Having been guests at the hotel, you are entitled to a discounted rate. The hotel is on the Throne Hill and is suitable for self-driving travel. There are 3 parking spaces in the park and on-street parking is also available. It's just that the roads in Heidelberg are very narrow and parking requires some skill. The neighborhood is a residential area and very quiet. Very close to the castle. The castle suggested going to the sunset in the afternoon, it was so beautiful. There is no need to go in, it is enough to look outside. There is a bus near the hotel, but the last class at 7 o'clock in the evening, so if you go out to eat at night, it is recommended to drive, otherwise it is very troublesome to come back. We climbed back on the first night and almost lost our way. In fact, although the Heidelberg Castle is narrow, parking is very convenient, and many garages are available for a fee. It is narrow, pay attention. It is recommended to go to the foot of the hotel (that is, there are restaurants, pubs under the uphill railway station), parking in the garage, it is very convenient. The hotel itself, the room is big, simple but very clean, in the morning listening to the bird called to get up. The perimeter is safe. Breakfast is simple, it is quite delicious, it is too much trouble to eat down the mountain, and I eat at the hotel in the morning. The front desk was warm and friendly; on the day of check-out, the staff who cleaned up the room quickly found the reins that the child had lost. In short, if it is self-driving, it is an ideal choice.
