My partner and I have differing views about this hotel and for this I have compromised by giving 3/5. I would have given a strong 2/5 based on my opinion only. We stayed at this place for three nights Positive points - The location is great. Short walk to Versailles and easy journey on the train to Paris. The layout of the hotel also meant parking was easy. Negatives - The bedding did not smell clean. The bed was uncomfortable and I was extremely itchy every night of the three night stay. The itching only happened in bed. I did not complain because my partner was in the same bed and did not have any issues. On returning to the UK, I immediately saw a doctor. I had not even mentioned that I had been away but he IMMEDIATELY said " you've got tracks of bites on your skin, consistent with insect bites. Have you slept in a hotel bed recently ? " .........I could come up with a list of possible insects which take up habitat in a bed and bite but I leave that to you dear reader. The young members of staff are very friendly, helpful and approachable. I CANNOT fault them ! There was however, one member of staff - whose name I cannot remember - an older gentleman who had an air of management about him. Very rude ! Monsieur, please brush up on your customer service skills. Should you be unfortunate and meet this person during your stay then I would like to point out that not accepting his ill behaviour will very rapidly change his demeanor to one of pleasant. As initially mentioned - my partner has a different opinion to me. Knowing what I was going to write, he wanted to pass on that he slept well and did not get bitten. He had an average stay. The pervading feel of the place is - why should you complain when the hotel is close to Versailles and there is parking. Everything else in making a good experience is overlooked when IT SHOULD NOT. The hotel has alot of potential to be a really nice place but it is neglected.

The hotel was excellent - decent-sized, clean rooms, very friendly and helpful staff and well situated in the chateau side of Versailles. Breakfast was what you'd expect in a small French hotel but perfectly adequate. My only gripe is that the website we used (which was referred to car parking as one of the hotel's "most popular facilities" and, since we were travelling by car and staying a few days, I really valued that possibility - one of my reasons for booking this particular hotel. In fact, the hotel has no parking at all and you have to find your own on the street or in the town carparks. I imagine that this could be a pain in the high season (especially if you were going out and about by car during the day) and the hotel should ensure that info sites referring to it should make this clear.

We stayed 2 nights.Located 2 blocks from train station, easy to get into Paris. We arrived with a luggage problem and the owners were very helpful assisting us in trying to work it out. We ended having to go back to airport to sort it out. When we returned late at night, they had put a setup in our room with tea and chocolates with a note hoping we had solved everything. Located a short walk from entrance to the Chateau and gardens complex. Plenty of nearby places to eat, drink and be merry!. Great spot to stay, especially if you are doing 2days in the chateau complex.

La Defense
Loved this small hotel. It was clean, friendly, had a roof garden and great view of Eiffel Tower. The staff were really friendly and happy to help. There are also a couple of breakout areas so you are not stuck in your room! They advised they would not be cleaning the rooms every day but not to hesitate to ask if we needed anything done. The train station/T2 was 2 minute walk. We got a 5 day zone 1-3 pass...don’t buy it at the airport as you ll be waiting in a huge cue. Just get it at a station. It will save you time and stress if you work out what stop and train you need to get....write down the final destination of each train/metro so you know what line to go on. It’s on the Versailles line and the Grand Defense line. It took 40 min all in to get from hotel to Eiffel Tower but the metro/ train system is very quick and if you can master jumping on and off trains then it’s not a problem and the trains run frequently. It was ideal for me and my son as we were not socialising at night so might pose a problem for those having to get back to the hotel to get showered and changed and get back out to the city again for time purposes. We booked late afternoon tickets for attractions and loved being able to relax after breakfast on the roof garden for a couple of hours, then leaving central Paris about 10.30 at night. Surprisingly we felt safe travelling at this time. There is a wee town centre 5 min walk away with several bistros. Check if you’ve paid for BB or room only. We forgot and then got charged at the end of our stay but it only worked out at 6 euros each per day.

I was cycling towards Paris, and needed a stop over near enough but far enough out. It also had to provide secure bicycle storage. The Cerise at Chatou was all of these things. I got a good welcome, was quickly sorted out with my room, as I had booked in advance. My bicycle was to be stored in the basement, which they very kindly let me take it down in the lift. The room was pleasant, light and airy. There was very little traffic noise. but it was a Friday evening. Breakfast in the morning was excellent - a wide variety of items in a buffet style.
