Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Lyon. From check-in to check-out almost everything was perfect. The only three things I would improve are: 1) the hotel bar didn't have stools 2) the Nespresso Machines didn't have single serve coffee-mate creamers or at least powder so you had to call down for cold milk for 5€. 3) like many hotels in Europe they didn't have wash cloths in the room (face cloths or serviettes carrés as they call them). What do Europeans wash with? The lobby was elegant and inviting. The Grand Salon was cinematic. The rooms albeit a little small were well designed, comfortable and had great AC and rain showers. The pool, sauna, steam room, tea and relaxation room in the basement were perfect after a hot day touring Lyon. The cocktails were prepared with love and attention and served in vintage glassware. However martinis and old fashioned's should have more than loz of alcohol. The breakfast buffet was complete and delicious and you could even order an avo toast, truffled omelette or œufs a plat a la carte. I highly suggest you book the bed and breakfast rate to not be shocked by the 39€pp charge if you didn’t. Their Italian restaurant, Angelo's, looked delicious, but was a little pricey so we ate out all three nights in the Capitale Gastronomique de la France. The staff were warm and accommodating and it's in my top 3 reasonably priced boutique hotels in Europe.

The Radisson Blu Hotel Lyon, affectionately known as the 'Pencil Tower,' offers a fantastic stay. Currently, the ground floor seems to be under renovation, so the lobby is located on the 32nd floor, with guest rooms spanning floors 33 to 39. There's a wide variety of room types to suit every budget. If you're coming from Lyon train station and follow navigation by foot, it's about 1.2 km, but that's completely unnecessary. From the train station's west exit, directly across the street is the west entrance of a famous large shopping center. Walk through the shopping center to its west exit, and just 50 meters away is the hotel's dedicated elevator. The entire journey is less than 300 meters, taking you directly to the 32nd floor for check-in. While waiting to check in, you can enjoy complimentary coffee, biscuits, and fruit provided by the hotel. It feels like a four-star experience for less than a three-star price.

The hotel's location is great, just about 100 meters from the subway exit. There's a supermarket about a 5-minute walk away, and during the day, there's a small market near the subway station where you can buy fresh fruit. Being on the main road means you don't have to worry about coming back late at night. The room size was decent, especially considering European rooms tend to be small, and the cleanliness was also good. My only complaint is the terrible soundproofing; you can hear people walking around upstairs very clearly, which made it hard to sleep at night.

The check-in went smoothly until the receptionist told us that we had requested a non-AC room (with the AC to be disconnected during our stay), supposedly based on a note from Trip.com. I told the receptionist that I definitely did not make such a request—especially not in the middle of summer—and asked to see the note from Trip.com. They couldn’t show me the note and instead claimed that, since I was now denying the request, the note had already been removed. We were checked into a non-AC room, and the hotel promised to send a technician to reboot the AC. That never happened. Eventually, we were moved to another room where the AC was already functioning. The whole situation felt suspicious. It seemed like the receptionist was trying their luck by placing us in a non-AC room. What’s even more ironic is that the new room had a welcome note addressed to me, while the non-AC room was completely bare, with no such note. We definitely won’t be coming back. The hotel staff came across as insincere and pretentious.

Excellent hotel, nothing to complain about the room or the hygiene. The underground parking with valet service is handy (at a correct price). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only problem we had was the fact that despite an earlier email and the extra specific on the day of our arrival in advance by telephone that we requested a room with 2 beds, this was not taken into account when we arrived at the hotel and we got a room with one ”large” bed. The next day we did get the requested room with 2 beds. For the rest everything was actually perfect!

Raphael at the front desk spoke to me in Japanese, which I really appreciated. He must be studying very hard. It made me incredibly happy. Even though it was scorching hot in Lyon, I was able to relax in a nicely air-conditioned room. Most importantly, the hotel is super close to Part-Dieu station, which was perfect for me as I wanted to leave early in the morning! The entrance is a bit hard to find, but it shows up correctly if you set walking directions on Google Maps.

Thank you so much to Zimo customer service! They even helped clean up afterward. There were a lot of mosquitoes the night we checked in. The reason was that I'd opened the window during the day, but no one warned me. I'm used to opening the window as soon as I walk in, and it ruined my sleep. Fortunately, I negotiated with the front desk and got a room change. I paid cash on the spot, and it was over $100 cheaper than my previous room. It seems Ctrip is being too shady. Also, Ctrip's overseas customer service isn't very helpful; don't count on it; you'll have to rely on yourself! They don't give points for reviews, and I won't post pictures anymore; it wastes my data.

First of they, the staff issued a room with someone staying. It is a serious breach of guests’ security. Then there’s no air-condition even they advertised that aircon is available. So we have to open the window for ventilation, it was very noisy probably due to a weekend and also the curtain is thin and the sunlight gets in. We are not able to have good rest. The staff said they can’t go anything about it. Also the pots and pans are moldy. Not very pleasant. The location is good, near train station and a very big mall.

Honestly, the location and cleanliness were excellent. While sightseeing, my accommodation was right in front of me, so I used the bathroom right there. There was a water purifier and a free coffee machine, so I didn't have to buy bottled water or go to cafes, which saved me money and was great. The elevator is small and the room is tiny, but it was big enough to open two suitcases, and most importantly, it was very clean. There was also an air conditioner, so it was nice and cool. There are lots of good restaurants nearby, so I highly recommend it.

The location is super convenient, right next to the train station with a direct airport express line. You can reach a large shopping mall just by crossing through the train station, and the biggest market is only about a fifteen-minute walk away. The room was very clean, and a great feature was the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom, which made it easy for two people to get ready at the same time. However, the sofa bed was just a sofa and couldn't actually be used as a single bed for sleeping. The bathroom had two small capsules, like coffee pods, that you could attach to the showerhead for different scents, which was pretty cool and unique.

I've arrived in Lyon, France, a city I learned about in my middle school textbooks. It's truly a place rich in culture. The hotel's location is excellent. I initially thought parking would be a huge headache, imagining it would be like the narrow hutongs within Beijing's Second Ring Road. But it wasn't difficult at all; the roads are quite wide, and more importantly, there isn't much traffic. Right around the hotel, there are popular tourist spots like churches, bars, and international luxury brand stores such as LV. Cross the river, and you're in the Old Town. It's also very convenient to drive to famous sites like the Roman Theatre and various churches.

In our room, we had a few complaints: the bottle of water in the minibar was impossible to open—don't die of thirst in the middle of the night! And the opaque glass in the bathroom, facing the person sleeping in the next room, served as a partition. It was very impractical to shower in the dark and avoid waking the other person by not turning on the light. You absolutely had to wake up together. A proper plasterboard partition would have been much better. The same goes for the toilet; a real door that closes would be practical.

I spent 2 nights and it went well despite the receptionist. For a 4-star hotel in the city of Lyon, the reception should be impeccable. When I arrived there was no one at the reception (a little before 3 p.m.), I waited 5 minutes for her to arrive. She arrived eating her cake and she barely said hello to me with her cake in her mouth. She did my check-in with her cake still on and she explained nothing to me about the room, the hotel, she asked me to pay the 5€ tax and she was not at all kind or friendly. She finished my check-in and I asked her about the wifi, if I could come back in the evening, etc. It was especially because she did not even have the predisposition to be nice. The next morning I went out and I ran into her and she did not even say hello. The last day, before leaving, I gave the card and there was a woman with her (the boss or manager) and suddenly she became nice, friendly and she even thanked me and wished me a good day!! All because her boss was there. On the other hand, her evening colleague was very nice. For a 4* hotel, politeness should be important. Otherwise, the rest was good, I would have given it a higher rating but the receptionist was horrible.

This hôtel is over rated. The reception area is minuscule, the overall layout is complicated with multiple small corridors and more doors than I have ever seen! The cleanliness was ok but it was very dated in the room. I had to cover The bedside table with a towel iPad the wood was chipped. The cushions also do not seem to be changed between customers. The shower was ok but not amazing as the water temperature kept changing on its own (most likely when someone in another room was using hit water). The soap dispenser in the shower contained a good quality soap, but it was almost empty so I couldn’t use it on day 2. I wouldn’t stay there again. The staff were however super helpful and friendly.

The hotel boasts a great location and an elegant atmosphere. It's about a 30-minute walk from the train station, or just 4 bus stops away. You can pay for the bus with a credit card. The room was spacious and bright, featuring a well-equipped kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, and a variety of seasonings. Breakfast was excellent, offering freshly squeezed orange juice and even a small juicer for making carrot and apple juice. There was also a pancake machine. They had salmon, Spanish ham, and a wide array of fruits like kiwi, apples, peaches, bananas, and apricots. All the hotel staff, from the front desk to the restaurant, were incredibly warm and friendly. They were very quick to address guests' requests. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Lyon.

It's also easy to get to Lyon's Old Town from the hotel; just take the metro, transfer once at Bellecour, and get off at Vieux Lyon station. The hotel front desk also provides various tourist brochures and maps for guests to look through.

Wonderful hotel, great location close to the Roman amphitheatre and a finicular down to the city, we were very comfortable and the staff welcoming. We felt the facilities for breakfast were a little chaotic as there's not enough room for guests, so they get asked to take a tray into the bar area which is second rate. Also in the bar you get a bill for everything you order which is strange, we've travelled the world and can't remember experiencing this, it can feel odd.

Their Italian restaurant, Angelo's, looked delicious, but was a little pricey so we ate out all three nights in the Capitale Gastronomique de la France. The staff were warm and accommodating and it's in my top 3 reasonably priced boutique hotels in Europe.

Honestly, the location and cleanliness were excellent. While sightseeing, my accommodation was right in front of me, so I used the bathroom right there. There was a water purifier and a free coffee machine, so I didn't have to buy bottled water or go to cafes, which saved me money and was great. The elevator is small and the room is tiny, but it was big enough to open two suitcases, and most importantly, it was very clean. There was also an air conditioner, so it was nice and cool. There are lots of good restaurants nearby, so I highly recommend it.

Thank you so much to Zimo customer service! They even helped clean up afterward. There were a lot of mosquitoes the night we checked in. The reason was that I'd opened the window during the day, but no one warned me. I'm used to opening the window as soon as I walk in, and it ruined my sleep. Fortunately, I negotiated with the front desk and got a room change. I paid cash on the spot, and it was over $100 cheaper than my previous room. It seems Ctrip is being too shady. Also, Ctrip's overseas customer service isn't very helpful; don't count on it; you'll have to rely on yourself! They don't give points for reviews, and I won't post pictures anymore; it wastes my data.

This is a five-star hotel in a classic style, converted from an old building. Definitely not the kind of hotel used in China. In the center of the old town of Lyon, there are various stores on the doorstep, and a stylish chocolate shop diagonally opposite, and the famous Rose Tower attractions across the alley next to the hotel. The interior decoration of the hotel is also old-fashioned, the door is opened with a key and no card is needed. The room was beautiful and welcoming, the toilet and shower room were separated. There is also a spa on the top floor. We went to live in Lyon on the day of the annual Lyon Festival of Lights, and on the weekend, the room price doubled several times than usual. It's easy to miss without paying attention. If the usual price to live is definitely possible. Holidays are definitely expensive. It is very convenient to visit and live in the old town. Self-driving is not suitable and I don't know where the car can be parked.

Conveniently located between the train station and the city center (just across the river), yet it was quiet and peaceful (we stayed on the day PSG won, and we were so glad we weren't in the city center). There's a supermarket nearby. The room is compact but has everything you need, and the bed was incredibly comfortable – we slept wonderfully after a long flight.

Currently, the ground floor seems to be under renovation, so the lobby is located on the 32nd floor, with guest rooms spanning floors 33 to 39. There's a wide variety of room types to suit every budget. If you're coming from Lyon train station and follow navigation by foot, it's about 1.2 km, but that's completely unnecessary. From the train station's west exit, directly across the street is the west entrance of a famous large shopping center. Walk through the shopping center to its west exit, and just 50 meters away is the hotel's dedicated elevator. The entire journey is less than 300 meters, taking you directly to the 32nd floor for check-in. While waiting to check in, you can enjoy complimentary coffee, biscuits, and fruit provided by the hotel. It feels like a four-star experience for less than a three-star price.

The value for money was excellent. The room was spacious, clean, and well soundproofed. The breakfast was truly delicious. The small pool in the basement was more than enough to relax for a while. One small drawback is that the hotel is a little far from the tourist sites, but everything was still within walking distance. If I return to Lyon, I will definitely stay here again.
