Inn By The Sea is my hidden treasure, my oasis, my heaven on earth. There is nothing short of perfection that would describe my most recent visit as well as my past visits. The setting, the service, the food, the staff, the feeling of being among family, etc. makes this my favorite place for a vacation.

Our beautiful passive-solar home sits on 2.4 acres, was custom built in 2022 and sits on a private road, nestled in the woods in Cape Elizabeth. From the moment you step inside, you’ll feel the charm of Maine with thoughtful nautical touches and decor throughout. Large windows in every room fill the home with natural light from sunrise to sunset. The home was designed to let you enjoy nature while staying cozy indoors. Relax inside while watching friendly wildlife pass by, including deer, birds, turkeys, squirrels, and chipmunks. The living room features a fireplace and a comfortable leather sectional, and opens to the dining area and kitchen—creating a warm, inviting space to gather. TVs are located in the living room, the owner’s suite, and the basement. You’ll be just a short drive, bike ride, or Uber away from the iconic Portland Head Light, as well as the restaurants and shops of Portland. Best of all, you’re close to the ocean and Maine’s beautiful sandy beaches. This home is an ideal retreat for adults looking to relax and unwind. As this is the owner’s primary residence, the home is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owner will be staying in a separate home on the neighboring property (through the woods), so she will be nearby if you have any questions or need assistance, while you still enjoy complete privacy. The garage can accommodate a small to medium-sized vehicle. During the summer months, the property is treated for ticks and mosquitoes to significantly reduce the bugs that can come with living in the woods. In the evenings, keep an eye out for fireflies or enjoy the peaceful sound of peepers from the nearby pond. The upstairs bedrooms also feature newly installed shades for added privacy and relaxation. The three main bedrooms are upstairs, including the primary suite & ensuite, and one bedroom & extra living room in the daylight basement.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About customRules:Please remove shoes after entering..Use the fireplace 30 minutes at a time.,No pets, parties, events or smoking. This contemporary two story addition floats like a tree house among apple trees. All the amenities of a hotel, but the feeling of your own home, surrounded by art from the 19th to 21st centuries (we are collectors and artists ourselves), on two acres with perennial gardens filled with foxglove, delphinium, sunflowers, dahlias, tulips and more overlooking a wetland: private entrance and parking, deck, grill, huge hot tub (shared) with expansive backyard and woods, Streaming TV, 500 Mbps Mesh Wifi, access to a canoe and kayak, efficiency kitchen, and all the quiet you can imagine. My husband and I occupy the main house to which this addition is attached, but the split level space is completely your own and not shared. Come enjoy the Foodie haven of Portland, Maine and the quiet elegance of rural living. Come to write your next novel or just get away. We are a 5 minute drive to downtown Portland and all the local beaches; as well as numerous woods walks and beach walks walking distance from our home. Bring your bike and paddle board, or borrow our canoe and kayak. Book your dinner reservations in Portland, and your sleeping accommodations in the Artist's Tree House. Please note the kitchen is an efficiency kitchen. We have an induction hot plate, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven and outdoor grill, but the kitchen is small. No dishwasher. No clothes washer or dryer. For wonderful, more extensive meals we suggest these great local restaurants: Leeward, Central Provisions, Twelve, Isa, Street and Co, Terlingua, Bao Bao, Davids 388, Fore Street, Regards, Bar Futo, Eventide Oysters, Izakaya Minato, Duckfat and Miyake--to name a few!About pets:Pets allowed: dogs (limit 1 total).About checkOut:Check out before 10:30 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.Only other sleeping options are on the sofa.About customRules:We have 3 friendly dogs that roam the yard at times. If you would like to bring your dog, please contact us to discuss as additional fees may apply..About checkIn:Check in after 3:30 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About events:No events allowed.
