The location is good, 15 minutes walk from the ancient city, the hotel dining is good, the outdoor restaurant is next to the pool, and the dining table overlooks the blue clear sea, which is very good. The hotel does not have a beach. You can go straight to the sea for swimming and snorkeling. The sea water in the bay is relatively calm. Multi-level blue. Fish are clearly visible. It is recommended to stay.

We are staying at this hotel for 1 night following a cruise and it's great. There is a walkable walk into the old city for most people and expect to burn off calories. The hotel is modern, clean and has decent views if you look to either side of the building in front. The staff are friendly and the food and drink prices are good for Dubrovnik. My husband and I spent 17 days at this beautiful resort, during the peak summer time. We truly enjoyed every moment. The service, premises, food and overall experience we had exceeded our expectations. Rooms are very clean and beds are extremely comfortable. We opted for sea view room on a higher floor and this was a big plus. We also chose half board and we were very satisfied with the selection of food. Everything was fresh and tasted like home made. We also dined in some nearby restaurants and the hotel restaurant was much better than some of these places as well. Beach is rocky, but there are several entrances in the water and we never had any issues finding the umbrella and chairs. The staff was amazing. All of them were really polite, professional and helpful. A special thanks goes to reception staff: Katarina, Stefan and Kreso, restaurant staff: Duje, Nenad, Ratko and others. We also met the general manager Tom who made us feel very welcome and added a few personal touches to make our stay even more comfortable. We will definitely return to this hotel in a near future and we recommend it to anyone looking for a unforgettable stay in Dubrovnik.

I can not fault this hotel, immaculately clean and the staff, without exception, were all incredibly helpful and friendly. It’s in a fantastic location, right on the seafront with beautiful sunsets, and a short bus or taxi journey to the old town. We also walked to the old town one day which took about one hour. We spent most of our time in the bars and restaurants in Lapad along the promenade however, which is in easy walking distance. Breakfast is busy, particularly if you go later - however the staff do their best to keep things replenished and are quick to tidy up. We had a luxury room with garden view, however the garden was really just a high brick wall with a bit of shrubbery in front of it - no real view. This didn’t bother us at all as we spent so little time in the room - but if the view is important to you you would be best to request a sea view. Overall a fantastic hotel and resort

Located a few metres from the Stradun, the main thoroughfare in the Old Town, and a few minutes walk from the Ploce Gate, Scalini Palace is an excellent place to stay. Previous comments about the stairs are correct. We were located in Room 5, on the third floor, and the gentleman at reception kindly offered to take our, very heavy, bags for us. He took two, made it to the first floor, then continued with one at a time. I did warn him. On leaving, I carried the bags downstairs and the gravity assist helped, however older folk may experience some difficulty and would be wise to seek assistance. Our room was fully equipped for a long stay. Very clean, cooking facilities with cutlety, saucepans etc, and a small balcony which was handy for clothes drying. nice bathroom with plenty of hot water. The only improvement I could suggest would be the inclusion of a direct phone line to reception as using the stairs to make an enquiry could be a nuisance. Reception is not always staffed, however. You are offered four choices for breakfast which is delivered to your room. Upon checkin you advise the time you prefer for breakfast., which you may or may not get depending on the choices of other guests. All staff at Scalini Palace were very nice, polite, and helpful. Day tours can be arranged from reception and they will make restaurant reservations if asked. The palace does not have a bar, however there is a small bar almost next door. Overall, we were really impressed and happy with our stay and highly recommend Scalini Palace

The apartments are ideally located just off the main street. If one arrives at Pile Gate there are minimal stairs to deal with which is a huge plus plus in the old town. Our apartment was on the first floor and featured high ceilings, a combined kitchen/dining/living room and separate bedroom. It was well appointed and attractive designed; we liked the combination of old world charm and modern conveniences. The staff, Carmen and Marko, were pleasant and helpful. Note that this is not a hotel and so they are not on site during evening hours, however they were responsive to email. The bed was decent but a bit soft for our liking. While the air conditioner provided some ambient noise, the apartment overlooks a restaurant in the alley and the street noise kept us awake. I suspect this is a common issue with old buildings and lower level apartments throughout the old town. Breakfast was included at Dalmatino's on the next street over. Our first hot breakfast at the restaurant was tasty and generous However, on our second day we took a packed breakfast due to a very early flight. The breakfast included juice boxes, fruit, sliced bread and packets of nutella, jam, cheese and butter but no napkins or plastic utensils. A pre-made cheese sandwich or croissant, fruit and a hard boiled egg would have been a much better bet in terms of taste and ease. Dubrovnik is expensive. The nightly rate for the apartment exceeded that of most of our hotels throughout two weeks in Croatia. We enjoyed the proximity to all the important landmarks for our first visit to Dubrovnik. On a subsequent visit I would consider booking a hotel outside the old town to enjoy more amenities for the price. Top must do's - a tour (Vlaho - Guru Walks), walking the walls at 8 am, a cable car to take advantage of sunset and a day at Lokrum Island. Fantastic!

My husband and I stayed at the Apartments Eleganca for 4 nights during our visit to the Old City of Dubrovnik. Located close to the Pile Gate (entrance of the Old City) which is extremely convenient when lugging suitcases. The apartment was gorgeous. Clean, comfortable, modern and spacious - it was the perfect place to chill after a day of site seeing. It doesn't have cupboards to put your clothes in - but it does have hanging hooks in the bedroom which we found worked well for us. I would say that this apartment is ideal for 2 people. Located in the Main Street of the Old city - you are very close to many cafes, shops - and the entrance to the Wall Walk. The apartment is well equipped so that you can wash your clothes and cook your own meals if you choose. It has a large flat screen TV and fast free wi-fi. We found the bed to be large and comfortable. Also, they have a safe to put your passports and cash in. Good size bathroom. There can be some noise at night if you leave the windows open (people just having too much fun) but it is fully air-conditioned so you can shut the windows and sleep in peace. My husband and I travelled for 6 weeks in Europe and this was one of the top two apartments that we stayed in. Highly recommend. Loved this apartment and would stay again.

The friendly, helpful and welcoming staff of the Berkeley Hotel made our Dubrovnik holiday even more memorable! All were first class, but special thanks go to Mirjana and to Ines, who always went the extra mile to ensure our enjoyment and comfort. Thank you, Berkeley staff! Don’t let the building works in the vicinity of this hotel put you off – the rooms are well sound-proofed and the positives far outweigh any negative from this! The rooms are well-appointed, clean, fresh and extremely comfortable. This small hotel is situated within a few minutes walk to the local bus station and the harbour area, making the Old City of Dubrovnik, trips to Cavtat, etc. easily accessible. There are a number of excellent restaurants also within easy walking distance of the Berkeley, but special mention must go to Prova restaurant where the welcome is warm and the sharing platters are exceptional! Berkeley reception staff were proactive, informed and helpful in facilitating tour bookings. We had a wonderful day visiting the beautiful island of Korcula and beyond, with hotel pick-up and a memorable tour from Adriatic Explore, who offer a great range of excursions. Tourist tip #1: Buy a Dubrovnik Card! – don’t purchase it before you go, buy it from any one of multiple sites or many hotels when you get there (much cheaper than pre-purchase)! Walking the city walls now costs 250kn per person. Our 7-day cards, with entrance to the walls and many other attractions, bus journeys, etc. cost only 350kn each! 1 and 3 day cards are also available. #2: Visit Dubrovnik in the Spring or Autumn, avoiding the crowds and the heat of the busy summer season – but do visit! It’s an amazing city!

They are sea view rooms, and you can watch the sunset while lying on the bed. The interior facilities of the apartment are good, and more importantly, the first floor of the apartment is fully equipped with supermarkets, restaurants and cinemas. It is worth mentioning that the staff here is very friendly. The two restaurants she recommended to me are very good. There is a plenty storing space- a big wardrobe. The bathroom has a shower with a boiler that gave instant hot water. The beach is reachable by the stairs situated on the left side of the building- 5 minutes. Getting back it is a little bit challenging- 160 steps. In the old town, close to the attractions, convenient for eating and playing, the landlord is very friendly, it is a little twist when checking in

These are the best appartments in the old town among many we’ve visited. Location is amazing! It’s on the same level as the main streets so you don’t have to climb steep stairs which is common for other places. Building is spacious. It has a charming little terrace with a beautiful view on the old town rooftops. Everything is nicely renovated and clean. The host is kind and responsive. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back to stay in the same place. Highly recommended.

12 minutes from the old town, free parking, no breakfast, but the boss sent a bottle of water and juice, the room microwave, dishwasher, hot water pot, pots and pans are all available, the boss recommended travel routes and restaurants Great, it also recommended the Michelin Hotel, a big compliment

The size of the room is spacious but the shared bathroom is a little small. The place is clean though but is a little far from the old town by foot. Better off to go by local bus.
