The best hostel for solo travellers. I was a bit hesitant at first given that the only available room was the mixed dorm. However, the room is clean, quiet, enough space for luggages. I think the best thing I noticed is the cleanliness and the travellers who were checking in because they are all well-mannered. It was a bummer that it was fully booked on my last day on Sydney. I transferred to a different hostel across the street and just massive comparison. Can bring big luggage here, there is a lift!!!

Great location, absolutely perfect! The bar is good too, and there are lots of activities! It would be even better if the kitchen stayed open a bit later (it closes at 10 PM now). The staff are super nice and will chat with you like friends. It's a fantastic spot for young people and solo travelers. This is my second time staying here!

The hotel is about a 6-7 minute walk from Central Station, making it super convenient for getting to the airport and city attractions. You can either walk or take the light rail. The rooms are spacious, clean, and tidy, and the staff are very polite. Plus, there's a 24-hour gym. Overall, it's pretty great! 👍

The hotel's location is fantastic. It's right outside the T8 exit of the Central Station, within walking distance to all major attractions, and surrounded by numerous dining options. The staff are incredibly friendly and even allowed us to check in in the morning since a room was available. There's also a water dispenser downstairs, and the room itself was clean and well-equipped.

The biggest highlight of Capitol Hotel is definitely its location—10/10! It’s right in Chinatown and within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, shops, and public transport, making it a great base for exploring the city. The room was quite small, but it was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Great location! It's close to the station, restaurants, and schools, and you can even easily reach Darling Harbour and the Fish Market from here. The hotel was quite busy, but as a member, I was able to check in immediately upon arrival in the morning, without having to wait until 3 PM. The bed in the room was a bit soft, and the size was actually equivalent to two double beds. Getting a taxi to the airport was also very convenient.

Checking in out staff are relaxed & very helpful. Basement laundry area was lacking in ventilation, consequently rather smelly as you exited elevator to head to kitchen. Self serve cereals & bread for toasting at breakfast with typical Australian spreads was as good as expected - better than some budget hotels. I Twin bunk bed had linen that was too narrow & the quilt/doona barely covered the double bed sized mattress.

Hotel is located in central Sydney which makes it very convenient to go around. Close to many eateries, shopping malls and train/bus stations. However, the room is outdated and not very clean. Stains on curtains and bedsheets. Mattress and pillows were too soft. Wifi is practically non-existent once we entered our room. Insisted they borrowed us a portable wifi router but even with it, the wifi was not stable. On the last night of our stay, water started leaking from the ceiling in our toilet. Managed to switch rooms but the new room we had wasn’t the cleanest as well. Overall, stayable but do not expect a 4 star hotel stay.

Bed was great very comfortable, great location. However in regards to cleanliness there was stains on the shower curtain and on certain towels. Also during the night the fire alarm went off, the entire building was evacuated with an alarm there was no sign of anyone that owned the hotel or even a receptionist at the desk we were told we could return to rooms by a fire department. This made me feel uneasy as it seemed just anyone could walk in to the hotel if there was no one downstairs.
